Klang Valley: Three Little Pigs & The Big Bad Wolf
Klang Valley: Three Little Pigs & The Big Bad Wolf – The pork crave still haven’t ends in me yet since the last pork meal at S.Wine, it’s not the craving for siu yok or cha siu, it’s Western version of pork dish and I want more! Last weekend, I went to this pork shop – Three Little Pigs & The Big Bad Wolf at Bangsar Village Mall (what a long name?!). Very easy to spot as it’s located just by the car park.I was there for a late birthday lunch with Clarice, it’s almost 3pm already, but the restaurant was really packed with people, mostly ladies! I wonder where are the guys? Almost tea time and the people just never stop walking in from the front door.Since it’s just two of us, we got a table pretty quickly. Without much hesitation, my order went to the two famous dishes The Wolf’s Favourite (RM27+) and also the Mighty Pork Burger (RM24+). Serving was pretty fast, surprisingly for that much people in the restaurant. The Wolf’s Favourite is their signature pasta which basically is carbonara enhanced with smoky pork and mushrooms, further topped up with a beautiful poached egg. It’s fragrance is good, the pork feels like bak gua to me and the combination of poached egg creates a unique carbonara experience, without the cream. It’s a little bit salty on my taste buds, but undeniably, still OK-good.If were to choose between the two dishes, my choice went to the Mighty Pork Burger which has a thick juicy pork patty which I still can imagine biting a mouth of it right now. Egg was just a compliment to the burger which I find it like McBreakfast egg, but still, I like the tender pork patty. Will come back again for some other pork dish!Three Little Pigs & The Big Bad WolfLot G1A, Ground Floor, Bangsar Village1 Jalan Telawi Satu, Bangsar Baru59100 Kuala LumpurTelephone: +603-22832270View Shiok Or Not : Food & Travel Map in a larger map -

Klang Valley: Banana Leaf Rice @ Sri Nirvana Maju, Bangsar
Klang Valley: Banana Leaf Rice @ Sri Nirvana Maju, Bangsar – Wanted to try this for quite some times, and finally I’ve got a chance. I’ve heard quite some good reviews and seeing it always packed during lunch and dinner, the Sri Nirvana Maju Indian cuisine must be good I assumed.Located right opposite of Bangsar Village Mall, this little Indian restaurant serves rice on banana leaf as well as other Indian dish with a blend of local taste. I’ve read that people complained about the price went up in just a year and two, however looking at the crowds, the price increased did not shoo people away.Banana leaf rice was the dinner for me and my girlfriend. Each set costs RM7 and comes with rice, papadum and 3 vegetables – deep fried bittergourd, cucumbers and cabbage, as well as deep fried chillies. You can opt for 3 types of gravy to add a bit of spiciness and aroma to the rice – dalcha, chicken curry, fish curry. That’s the vegetarian meal of banana leaf rice. I find it too vegetarian and added 2 side dishes – sambal boiled egg and chicken masala.Everything was fine, spiciness was at a good level and the portion was just too big! Ended with a satisfaction and Clarice couldn’t finish her rice. It was indeed pricey at RM27 for 2 person, but nevertheless, it’s a good meal.
Sit back, wait, see and enjoy your meal. Restoran Sri Nirwana Maju43, Jalan Telawi 3,59100 Bangsar,Kuala Lumpur.Telephone: +603-22878445Business Hours: 10am-1.30am dailyView Shiok Or Not : Food & Travel Map in a larger map -

Klang Valley: S.Wine Cafe @ Publika, Solaris Dutamas
Klang Valley: S.Wine Cafe @ Publika, Solaris Dutamas – Oh pork, recently I am addicted to pork and found this nice pork restaurant at Publika, Solaris Dutamas. To be exact, it’s located in the grocery – Ben’s Independent Grocers (B.I.G.). I actually went there once but failed to eat because we were late and ended up with Namoo On The Park. Lesson learned, and I was there earlier than before! When you go to grocery shopping in Malaysia, normally the pork section is separated from the rest because it’s Non-Halal. Well, the S.Wine Cafe is located at the Non-Halal section and also right beside the alcohol section of B.I.G. Pretty interesting.Pork is the main thing there and so all the dishes were all about pork. We’ve got pork chop, pork meatball, and pork sausage wrapped with bacon. Yummeh. Food presentation and the interiors are quite nice. Taste on the other hand is heavier than Betty’s Kitchen (I prefer the gravy at Betty’s though) and what I like about is the texture of the pork, it felt nice comparing to local Chinese pork dish. Wonder what pigs do they use? Haha. Well, the price was on the high side, but given a good atmosphere and food, it justifies. S.Wine, I’m pretty much I will come back again, perhaps bring my parents for a try.
Good food and good people. Good people of the night – Siyi, Connie, Jason, me, Henry, Hooipheng and Quenna.

The pork chop!
Look at the oily part of the pork, I just can’t put that into my body! Sinful! Klang Valley: Hakata Ippudo Ramen, Pavilion
Klang Valley: Hakata Ippudo Ramen, Pavilion – Ramen craze back again. Ever since I had ramen in Singapore – Marutama & Ippudo, then at 1 Utama – Menya Musashi, I am so in love with very good ramen and the soup. I had Ippudo in Singapore before so I know it’s good, the recent opening of the outlet at Pavilion, KL makes me feels excited and so last week I went to try it out with my babe.We went there with an exciting and hungry feeling. Just as in Singapore, you have to wait, not queue, but give your name to the receptionist and they will call your name when it’s ready to be seated. Not so long for 2 seats, less than 10 minutes of wait and we were in!The interiors are very interesting, modern, mysterious, dark with loud pop music playing, just as the outlet in Mandarin Gallery, Singapore, but bigger space. Without much hesitation, it’s food time!We ordered a Akamaru Tamago (RM30+) which the soup is cooked with Ippudo’s secret miso, garlic oil, belly chasu served with kikurage, bean sprouts and spring onions. Awesome max, I suggest you get this instead of the standard Shiromaru Motoaji. Yummy, but it’s a little bit salty, but after all it’s good. (On par with Menya Musashi’s but I tend to favor towards Menya’s because I can control the soup with the garlic and chili oil). There’s also rice – Hakata Meshi (RM11+) which is rice topped with chashu and mentaiko, served with shredded egg omeletter. This is a nice one too!Lastly, the small side dish that we ordered was the Baruketsu Tofu (RM18+), spicy tofu and minced pork with crispy noodle in hot stone pot. Somehow, the one I had in Singapore was nicer as the noodle was way crispier and the gravy was more saturated, it’s a bit waterish here.Nice atmosphere and location for ramen, price wise cheaper than in Singapore, but if were to pick the best ramen broth, sorry my choice will go to Menya Musashi.Hakata Ippudo Ramen (below GSC)Level 4, Pavilion Shopping Mall,Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.Telephone: +603-21106233View Shiok Or Not : Food & Travel Map in a larger mapPictures are taken with Canon EOS 60D + Tamron F/2.8 17-55mm -

Klang Valley: Betty’s Midwest Kitchen
Klang Valley: Betty’s Midwest Kitchen – Finally, I’ve got a chance to try this American restaurant at Aman Suria. I actually went there last year with Arron & Tee Jin, unfortunately it was closed. I’ve been hearing good review about it too! Well, finally is finally, it’s also sort of a small farewell dinner with my boss and the senior interior designer of my intern 2 weeks ago.America On A Plate – well said. Not surprised to see the restaurant was already full with people. Found a seat and quickly made the order. There’s Dog Food, Meatloaf & Pork Chops for the 5 of us, as well as a small coleslaw as side. The restaurant is so not halal with a wall of PIGS pictures. Anyway, the dinner was just awesome and happy talking with Mr Boss and the designers. For the first time that we have a casual talk among each other out of work. One funny thing is that the gravy of all seems to taste the same, you will feel it in the Dog Food and the Pork Chop, but after all, they are good. Well, Betty’s, I’ll come back when I have the chance! America & the food rocks.BTW, I love America, more than the food!
Dog food! You don’t have to be a Chihuahua to eat this. Fries mixed with cheese and their special gravy. Yummeh! Klang Valley: Namoo On The Park, Publika
Klang Valley: Namoo On The Park, Publika – So many to write about in my blog, my Taiwan’s trip, some cool food in Klang Valley, my internship experience and the Miao Hui in Penang that happened last month. Stay tuned to my blog, keep reading, keep sharing, I will bring more good photos and content to you all. =)Few weeks back in KL, I went to Publika for dinner. The initial plan was S.Wine at B.I.G, but then when we arrived, the lady told us that the kitchen has closed! What a bad timing, and we ended up at Namoo In The Park, a contemporary Korean-Fusion restaurant with a cute name and contemporary atmosphere. I pretty much like the interiors of this little restaurant that locates on the first floor of Publika.Recently have been eating a lot of nice restaurant food lately, going broke but I just can’t stop myself from exploring more of them. HAHA. Talk about the food, it’s Korean Fusion, so it’s Western-Korean mix. The rice burger is uberly nice and big portion. Fish & Chips was huge too, but a little bit too standard and the famous potato cake was not my type of desserts, too sticky with a mooncake feeling.Afterall, not bad, can come back again. So is not bad, can come back again.

Klang Valley: Nadeje Crepe Cake At PJ Three Two Square
Klang Valley: Nadeje Crepe Cake At PJ Three Two Square – That Saturday didn’t just stop like this at the Bak Kut Teh and also cycling in the morning, there’s still one late afternoon desserts chilling time and that’s to the newly open Nadeje Crepe Cake located at PJ’s Three Two Square.
Those who have been to Malacca must have know about the famous Nadeje Cafe which sells crepe cake. I wasn’t that excited because it has become something that’s not Malacca’s specialties anymore as you can find it in Klang Valley! Nevertheless, I still brought a happy and tired to visit the place and spend a small afternoon with crepes.
A little bit disappointing when I see the cafe is not as beautiful as the one in Malacca. There’s so less seats and we waited for like 15 minutes to get a seat. I believe the open up this cafe in PJ is to cater for take-away instead of create a nice atmosphere for people to enjoy like in Malacca. There’s only a few seats out on the corridor and inside. So, it’s not my next hangout place. Haha.

I like Pearl Of The Orient. Do you notice that Earl Grey taste like your soap?
Henry, Siyi, Weishi, Jason, Ling Jia, Quenna, me, Wei Kean and Mei Jia. Cake was not bad, crepe all taste the same to me. Haha, somehow I still like the Hokkaido Chocolate @ Twelve Cups, Penang. Yummeh! What do you think about Nadeje?

Klang Valley: Famous Seng Huat Klang Bak Kut Teh
Klang Valley: Famous Seng Huat Klang Bak Kut Teh – Yes, Klang is very famous for Bak Kut Teh! But there’s too many bak kut teh out there at Klang and it’s pretty hard for us to decide where to go for after our cycling at Bukit Cahaya. Some people says that when it’s too famous, the quality turns bad, but we just didn’t care, we went to the one that is most discussed on the internet, the most results on Google search result and it’s this Seng Huat Bak Kut Teh, also known as the Bak Kut Teh below the flyover bridge in Klang. We were so hungry after 3 hours ride of bicycle at Bukit Cahaya and it took about 20 minutes from Shah Alam to reach there. Thanks to GPS, we actually missed the junction and took us another 10 minutes to turn back in. Aduhainya.Combined two tables for 10 of us, didn’t really know how to order, so it’s the Seng Huat people who made the decision for us, a mixture of different pork meat, with vegetable and toufu pok. That’s our lunch! The taste is pretty nice, definitely better than I had in Penang but somehow there’s one at Aman Suria – Shun Heng Bak Kut Teh seems to have a stronger taste. Afterall, it was a good one!One more thing, it’s only RM11 per person, cheap!Seng Huat Bak Kut TehNo. 68, Jalan Besar,41000 Klang.Telephone: +6012-3098303 / +6012-385514Business Hours: 7.30am – 12.30pm / 5.30pm – 8.30pm dailyView Shiok Or Not : Food & Travel Map in a larger map -

Klang Valley: Dai Chao At Ping Wah Restaurant, Taman Paramount
Klang Valley: Dai Chao At Ping Wah Restaurant, Taman Paramount – The KL call it Dai Chao (大炒) and the Penang call it Zhu Char (煮炒) and few weeks back, I went to this dai chao located at Taman Paramount introduced by Beng Tian. Looking at the name, it reminds me of Penang because Ping Wah is actually the Penang Chinese Girls High School in Penang or there’s one lok-lok stall call Ping Hua too. Haha. This dai chao actually sells Hainanese-style dishes. I don’t really know much about it, it’s just a simple dinner with 3 dishes for me and Beng Tian. There’s a Kailan fried with salted fish, omelette with preserved turnip (chai poh egg) and the very special pork fried with potato. The dinner was good especiall the pork with potato because it’s something different that I’ve never tried before, Kailan was as usual pretty standard and the omelete was pretty nice too!2 person, 3 dishes, 2 herbal teas, RM27. Breakfast At Kampung Broga
Breakfast At Kampung Broga – After the awesome, healthy and fun hike at Broga Hill, the stomach gets very hungry because I did not eat anything before the hike. Luckily there’s a small Chinese village nearby – Kampung Broga where you can find a hearty breakfast at one of the kopitiam there. It’s just 5 minutes drive, and the village is very very small. Well, you can say you reaches Negeri Sembilan at here, because the little village cut through the border of Selangor state and Negeri Sembilan state. No matter which state it is, food and refreshing drinks were more important at that time!Introduced by a friend Zee Yin that she read on blogs that this little kopitiam serve good Cham Peng (mix of Kopi & Tea with ice) and so it’s our place for breakfast. Surprised that there’s no one in this little coffee shop and we shouted ‘Hello, anyone here?’ for several time, yet no one were there. Only after 10 minutes, someone walked toward us from the next door. It’s the owner, chilling at some other place as I guess they expect no people. Haha. Well, indeed true that throughout the morning, it’s only us! There’s one group of people walked in, but walked out just after that; very zho siao (playful) of them.
Very cute and unsual cut for Cham Peng. Very homy. Well, you actually can find a variety of food in this little kopitiam that you see no food stalls. They serve steam bread, half boiled egg, wan tan mee, chicken feet mushroom mee, fried rice and more! Food actually served from the shop next door, but they shops are so friend that they serve here and there. Wan Tan Mee was my breakfast, noodle was springy, char siu was sweet, but wan tan were no where to be good. For only RM3.50, that’s where the taste goes to at this little town that not many people aware of. After all, the Cham Peng complimented my breakfast after a tiring and exciting hike.Place for breakfast after hiking? This is it. Friendly owner, simple local food, and nice Cham Peng.View Shiok Or Not : Food & Travel Map in a larger map
