  • Mini Flashmob In Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus

Mini Flashmob In Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus – I was chilling under the tree in my campus last week and suddenly I saw a group of people in black t-shirt, wearing a white mask walking around the lakeside area. Suddenly, a sharp whistle sound was heard in the air.

In light speed, the group of mysterious people stopped their action, as if the time was frozen and a living statue was form. It’s a flashmob thingy. I believe it’s one of their class activity in school as their lecturer was around taking photos.

It wasn’t really very sunny, I took my camera, and went to take photos with them.

A little while, whistle sound can be heard again, they started moving to another area and preparing for another act, and whistle blew again, they stopped again, and we took photos with them again. It was pretty fun, but sooner it’s get sunny and I went back to my comfy zone under the shade.

I wonder what’s their reaction and thinking when saw me and Wesley fooling around them.

    =D

  • Colourless Thursday In Taylor’s University

Happy Malaysia Day my fellow friends! Woohoo! Finally, after so many years that this day get recognized.

Thursday was no good to me. I got emotional, there’s many thought went through my mind, I just kept thinking that I was doing not so well in studies and I tell myself I must try my best and work hard. I am really bad in hand or manual drawing, give me a computer and a mouse, I rather use the computer then use the hand.

Haha, you might be thinking why I choose interior design despite not good at drawing. I wonder is it necessary? It’s a creative subject, it uses the mind more than hand in my opinion.

I realised that there’s many good “drawer” or artist in the class which makes me feel lousy. Though, I feel good now, I told myself, I must work hard to be better and the best. I feel better now after taking photos in black and white. Woohoo.

Thursday is always a tiring day for me because class is from 8am to 7pm with only just an hour of break at noon for lunch. The study hour is even longer than a working person. Haha, I seriously think that they should reedit the timetable again. Computer Aided Design, Moral Eduation, Design Studio and lastly Building Construction.

Hmm… Not really a good afternoon in uni and I did feel stress and tired.

Afterall, let’s forget about the down-ness and check out Malaysia’s Day today. Where you guys going? Going to check out the parade at Dataran Merdeka? I wish I could, but I just couldn’t. Have some other plans today. =D

  • Goose At Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus

Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus is one of the nicest university campus in Malaysia, the school fees also very “nice (expensive)”, yet the campus is really good. There’s a not-very-big lake in the middle of the campus.

On a fine and cloudy, relaxing and lovely afternoon at Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus, students strolled around the lakeside and I saw animal by the lake.

The are the goose! I am not sure they are goose or duck. I thought it was duck, but mom told me it’s goose.

It’s goose because they are fatter and the neck is longer. What do you think?

These are the playful goose that always get onto the steps to find food. Students and passersby do feed them occasionally.

Luckily they didn’t get further onto the land, the found it bored and went back for a swim in the water. =D

  • Parking And Walk To Taylor’s On Wednesday

This is quite a random post about what happened last Wednesday at Taylor’s University. Class was at in the middle of the day and I pretty hate it because of the hassle of looking for a parking spot in the campus.

Parking in university is always not a good thing as there’s so many student and cars where parking spots are not able to accommodate everyone, especially when selfish people like me don’t want to park at the paid zone. Even if I am forced to park at the paid zone, it would be full.

I parked far far away that afternoon, and took a nice walk about 400m to campus from car park. The weather was pretty cloudy and good. Wonder why it’s raining here so much, typhoon in Taiwan, hurricane in the USA and here we got the rainy days.

I wonder why the school want to collect fee for student’s parking. Why is the fee we paid isn’t able to cover a parking spot, I wonder why. It’s ok to collect money for parking fare, but at least built us a proper parking area with a good covered walkway that protect us from the shines and rain. Then I will shut my mouth up. Imagine walking to and from the car in the midst of hot sun or a rainy day.

Spotted an unknown lecturer got a surprise birthday wish from her friends. Pretty cool.

The school is getting more and more commercialize which isn’t a good way of promoting education. That’s reality, that’s fact.

One fact about Taylor’s University is that the traffic jam that occur around 4pm everyday. It’s the super big jam in campus, connecting out to the main road until the nearest traffic light. A normal good flow of traffic will takes about less than 10 minutes out but with a jam, do expect about half an hour.

I have already accepted the shity rocky parking, finding a parking spot and walking towards class. That’s my college life. HA! Blablabla.

  • Last Thursday In Taylor’s University

    Last Thursday In Taylor’s University

Thursday is both nice and not-so-nice day because Thursday is near to weekend, so it’s nice, but on the other hand, it’s a tiring day as my class started early in the morning till late evening. And all the classes are in a continuous manner with just a little break in between for lunch.

I am getting myself to suit with the parking system at Taylor’s University. Ever since Taylor’s University started collect RM3 for the parking at the basement and the one nearer to the campus, I have to park my car at the so-called “Taylor’s Rocky Parking Area” which you can see in photo above. Every time I reached school, the whole parking area is almost full and I have to park until the end of the parking area, which is about 500-700m walking distance? It’s good to walk in the morning, but imagine rain and Sunny afternoon. Why don’t they just built a sheltered walkway for students. What a noob management of the school that is being inconsiderate.

First class of the day is the CAD (Computer Aided Design) class which I am learning about AutoCAD. I love functioning and playing with the computer, but so far, nothing much powerful have been learned. The lecturer is being slow at the moment. Hmm. I need some speed up to learn something more powerful. Catching up news and Facebook are something I would do during the CAD class, I believe everyone too. =D

Later then is the boring Moral Education class, which is a compulsory subject for the Malaysian students. What’s wrong with the Ministry Of Education? We have done 11 years of moral education, and now we are doing it again in college/university. One of our project for this Moral Education is to do a total 16 hours of community service. Sounds cool. Though, I have no idea where to service in Petaling Jaya / Klang Valley, any recommendation?

Sad that this class has not many people, that’s not so fun as I couldn’t meet some new friends from other courses. I wish I have module that mix with other courses, but too bad, there’s none for me. It’s not to the point of real university style yet. My course is just like high school, where my class is still the same, my class until graduate.

Lunch was really suck as I had no appetite that noon and nothing at the Recezz food court amaze me. Everything is just so-so, even the Curry Chicken Noodle that I once like went lousy already. Sigh. Things get bored when there’s no pork, seriously. It’s so halal. However, I have a recent like that are the I Love Yoo porridge and the Yong Tau Fu with rice in my campus. =D

Drop by the library for a while to print some stuff. The school still haven’t credit me the printing money for this semester! &%$#%*(## Damn, it’d been half a month since new semester started. I need my money to print!

Had my Design Studio class at a room called the Print Room. No idea what that means by it’s my first time attending class at such nice room with an awesome view of the lake. I believe the room belongs to the Graphic Design student. No idea why were we there.

Anna, Nita and Arowa. All foreigner, one from Belarus, one from Indonesia, one from Saudi Arabia.

The class was rather OK for that day as nothing much I have done for the hotel room design. First project of the semester is designing a Royal Thai Style VIP Suite. It’s pretty challenging for me as Thai style is very complicated and I am a minimalist, modernistic person. Haha.

Instax Mini 25! Brought it to school to shoot shoot. Though, nothing much to shoot. Haha.

Class ended a little bit earlier and so, me, Wesley and Jia Hui went to the lakeside for a seat to pass time and enjoy the breeze and view. Suddenly feel that the school was so relaxing and good, too bad this is Malaysia, and it is warm and humid. Lakeside relaxing is only fun when it’s near to evening and after a rain, or perhaps a cloudy day.

The weather was nice that day and it rain later when I attended another class called the Building Construction class. Later that night, I went to watch movie and tour the night market. What a tiring Thursday. Haha.

  • KLPAC, Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre At Sentul Park

I am having a holiday right now. Say yeah! It’s very good to take some times off but I have some Internet stuff to run throughout the holiday just like updating this blog for some nice photo content to share with you guys.

Well, before the semester ended, my whole class of Diploma In Interior Design of Taylor’s University went to a site visit to KLPAC (Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre) at Sentul Park to check out the site and architecture stuff.

Actually I have been hearing about how nice how nice about this place and finally I get a chance to visit it, thanks to my lecturer of Design Theory, Miss Veronica Ng who arranged the trip to us go and see, feel and learn.

The KLPAC is located near Jalan Ipoh, in a park call the Sentul Park and it’s pretty far from where I am residing at, the Bandar Sunway. It takes about half an hour drive from our campus to there. We went there by our school bus which we have to pay RM10 for the bus fare.

The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre, simply and commonly known as the KLPAC is situated in an old railway warehouse building. Looking very artistic with the cool red bricks and a little bit of heritage and ‘back-to-the-days-retro- feel, it senses sensory cell of the artistic side of me.

It was a morning and I was told that it even look better when the lighting are on during the art. Can’t wait to check out some show at there during the night. =)

We have a guide who brought us around the place and tell us about the architecture and some story behind the building. Miss Veronica brought along her cute little son too, Ethan!

Actually, there’s not much in there, it’s all the studio and 2 theater halls, then a little reception area and that’s all. We were only brought to the main theater hall that they call it the Pentas, known as stage in the local Malay language.

Upon entering the Pentas, it gives me a very raw and open feel because of the building material used around the place, yet the colourful seats cheer me up and makes the raw feel turns to something freshy, energetic and happy.

Some interesting facts about the KLPAC is all the shows have no specific dress code to enter the theater, which means you can wear singlet, shorts and slippers.

On the other hand, there’s no VIP zone as they want the theater to be a theater for everyone, same class level, no racism. And the cool stuff is that the first row is on the same row as the stage.

    Colorful seats!

Raw material on the side wall for acoustic function.

    Aida, Fanah and Hanan.

Kent Tan and Kevin To playing with the piano. Please ignore Kevin’s expression. LOL.

Just a random shot about the male’s.

Spent quite some times in the Pentas, enjoying the show of nothing on the stage and act like enjoying the show. After that, we went outside to the park. Yeah, there’s a nice park and little lakeside for people to chill and relax. It’s so nature and feels like it’s somewhere so-not in the city, but in fact this is almost in the middle of Kuala Lumpur city.

    The Picnic

In fact, we had picnic outside, an idea by our lecturer of Design Theory, Miss Veronica Ng. She suggested of bringing food and share with friends and I want to apologize for not bringing any food there but I and my friends did contribute a few big bottle of mineral water. =D

There’s a nice lake of the view and some greens to see but unfortunately sun shines and there’s not much breeze around the place, it’s pretty warm and hot at that time.

Vincent Lee brought a guitar along and there’s music. For your information, the whole park was filled with voices and cheering of us as there’s no other people use. =D

They played balls, for a while.

    Cute little Ethan.

The best part of the day was the food eating session in the outdoor, the PICNIC! There’s some tid bits, bread, nugget, macaroni and cheese and cake. They all so awesome, made by my classmate.

See below and you will see everyone was so happy with the food.

Spent about an hour plus eating and playing guitar and singing and shooting around and we took a group shot, after that we went back to campus. It was a nice site visit trip, in fact the best and funnest. Yay! See you guys Diploma In Interior Design in Semester 3, coming August! Happy holiday people.

  • Finally Finish Taylor’s Final Exam For DID Semester 2

Finally Finish Taylor’s Final Exam For DID Semester 2

    P1060430

    Assignment, done!

    Final exam, done!

Finally can take a break from the hectic assignments work although they were fun but I prefer taking a break right now. Hohoho. People thinking that study design doesn’t have exam but in fact we do because there’s still some theory subject like Building Construction.

    P1060444

Just one that I am not satisfy was having English exam which is just ridiculous because I’d already study for 11 years of English and I have to study again. Wow, what a waste of time and money.

    P1060442
Aceel, Vincent, Arvin Tang and Low Jia Hui before last exam today.

I am going to Singapore tomorrow to check out Saturday InDesign event, anyone going there too? Hehe.

  • Last Day Of Building Construction Class

Last Day Of Building Construction Class

After spending so many midnight time in campus, it came to the last day of Building Construction which was one of my subject for semester 2 of Diploma In Interior Design. It doesn’t really comes to an end because I’ll be taking Building Construction 2 for the next semester. Walao eh!

Well, time flies and it finally came to an end. Thanks to the sleepless night and awesome project, mister lecturer, Sivaranam. =) It’s a tired day but the sky was blue, really very blue. Even though it’s blue, it didn’t brighten up my mentality because I was physically tired and sleep, but I still could force myself to shout (very random).

    Mellysa, tired face. =D

    Arvin still look so power.

I believe that day was not only me that was tired, most of everyone were. Treated myself in a good Chinese restaurant in campus as a reward for not sleeping.

    Connie, the Hakka girl.

Tai lou and Zhi Inn of Muar!

Then went to feel and molested the iPad 2 (even I already had an iPad) at the campus’ Apple store and it marks the end of the day. Bye bye Building Construction class. Hello, Building Construction exam! Which happening in 2 days time. I gotto read now. Cheers!

  • Midnight At Taylor’s University Architectural Studio

Midnight At Taylor’s University Architectural Studio

I spent a few nights at the studio in my campus lately due to last minute work. Yeah yeah, I bet many of you also always do last minute work. Haha. It’s so last minute that I only get to go back and sleep for like an hour or 2 early in the morning, then go back in class, though the experience was fun, especially with a group of people, loud music in the silent campus and big studio room.

Building Construction’s project was the troublesome one which took so many of my precious energy and nights of sleep. Satisfaction reached, yet the quality not that good due to wrong method, but anyway, we learned the lesson.

I realised the good of Taylor’s University is that there’s place for people to use to do work. I and my team can’t be doing this at home because it will be very messy and we have to clean it ourselves, but in the studio, we can make it as messy it is, and someone will eventually come and clean it later.

To use the studio, we need to book it 3 days in advance, but then we didn’t. We just “borrowed” the room from our senior who booked it. The lousy thing about studio is that there’s no wifi service, which “Great, concentration” because that area is not covered in the hotspot and only one LAN connection port available.

However, the best part is the usage of projector and loud speaker. We played the music all night long.

Well, it would be great that there’s 24/7 cafe or food corner open in Taylor’s University, unfortunately, no. Though there’s plenty of vending machines around, yet they still doesn’t get on par with a plate of Maggi Goreng at the midnight mamak. Yes, we went out to hunt for food during our pauses.

I realised that the campus switch the air-conditioned to a warm temperature at a period of time in the midnight, as so it’s pretty warm sometimes. Luckily it was raining out there, which the rain drop accompanied us together with the music.

I actually brought a pillow, thinking that I would be sleeping in the studio and go to class in the morning, but I failed because I just couldn’t fall asleep, even how sleepy and tired I was. I just took a 5 minutes drive home and sleep. Even it’s just an hour of sleep, it’s still better than not sleeping.

Well, sometimes it’s funny when people just come to campus and that’s the time when I go back home. It’s almost sunrise, and I met a bunch of friends, came all the way from Sepang, 50km away to Taylor’s, early in the morning, to borrow the study room and read, before heading to breakfast. That’s the power and craziness of Penangites.

Well, don’t laugh. Bricks laying takes time. =D Not proud, but that’s the 2 sleepless night in studio.

  • The Big Apple’s Helium Balloon Is Down

The Big Apple’s Helium Balloon Is Down

Still remember the big helium balloon I showed in the iPad post? One fine midnight, I pulled it down and touched it and put it back up again. Haha.

Ok, how it happened was on one fine midnight when I was spending my night in campus to rush my assignment with Wesley, Steve, Jia Hui and others, we passed by the balloon place, then my itchy hand started pulling the rope that ties to the balloon. It was heavy a bit but it’s easy to be pulled.

Steve and Wesley helped to pull on the other side to balance it and in the end, we touched it for fun and let it go again. Haha. Very childish act, but fun, I like. =D
