  • Random Shots At Heong Giam Si Temple

Haha, it’s another post about temple and I did not purposely go to this temple to take photos. It’s actually I brought my camera with me during this visit to the temple with mom to pay a memorial visit to the late grandma of my dad.

Heong Giam Si Temple, located near to the state mosque (Masjid Negeri) at Air Itam there is actually a memorial hall which houses people’s ancestor’s tablets.

It rained during our visit and it was quite a heavy rain. I took out my camera and go for some shots.

And after the rain, blue sky came. =D

    What a random post.

Photos taken by Canon EOS 60D and Tamron 17-50mm f2.8.

  • Straits Quay, Penang #2

My hands have been feeling itchy lately as they keep wanting to press the camera shutter button of my new camera. =D To ease my itchiness, I went to Straits Quay in the afternoon to press a feel shutters on my camera. I haven’t really been there during the afternoon and when the sun is hanging high above my head.

It was a quiet Monday afternoon and Straits Quay was, quiet. Feeling bad for the restaurant and cafe owner as there’s so little people visiting their shops at that time. If it’s at Singapore or Hong Kong, there will be people almost at anytime. Guess Penangites are too lazy to come out to spend time at the cafe or perhaps selfish to buy themselves expensive beverage.

    IMG_0111-1

I went there with my girlfriend, Hueisean. It was windy and the warm sea breeze blows on my face which it’s not really a good time to spend outdoor.

Took some shots of her of course as she had become my spontaneous model. It’s not all about building, landscape and random people anymore. After changing a new camera, my feel in photography is getting stronger again, it’s like boost up which makes me want to takes more photos! =D

Straits Quay is a good hang out place and the concept is great, somehow it’s not really accessible to public as there’s no public transport going there. And the pubs only opens till 1am because there’s residence on top of it, so no live band and late closing, which is not that good.

Anyway, it’s a good place for some better dining experience and a new spot to hang out in Penang.

Heart for LIKE. =D Do press the LIKE button. Weeeee.

  • People’s Court At Sunset

    IMG_0483

People’s Court is one of the oldest flat in Penang, located somewhere near Cintra Street and Campbell Street. It was a place where all people lived happily and a majority of Chinese living there. Until today, the flats are still there with shop lots surrounding the place and now mostly elderly or old Penangite lives at there.

My family always loves to dine at the Chinese restaraunt, Boey Chong Kee which situated right below the People’s Court flat. =)

  • Photos Taken By Lumix LX5 At Panasonic Camera Booth

Photos Taken By Lumix LX5 At Panasonic Camera Booth

    P1000100

This is a actually a post filled with quite some random photos taken from the Panasonic Lumix LX5 at the Panasonic Camera Booth at Queensbay Mall which was basically where the play I was working temporary for the past 3 days. It’s a little Panasonic’s camera fair with a little booth there promoting Panasonic’s product.

I was so bored with the camera as I felt the only thing I could do was shoot. There’s no GF2 for me to play, or even GF1, I tried all the compact camera and the best is still the Lumix LX5. =D

    P1000101

I found one TZ20 which has super zoom and GPS but still not tempting cause there’s no F2.0 aperture, same goes to the super zoom semi pro FZ40 or FZ100. I only like 2 cameras by Panasonic and that’s LX5 and GF2. No more.

    P1000102

No choice that I have to promote every product and played with every of it. Spending time at there to take random photos was how I passed my time. It got boring some times when there’s no people come and check out the booth.

Saturday was a busy day for me and I hope that later today can be nice. =D

Cameras are pretty cheap here with Panasonic Lumix LX5 selling at RM1550 which is about RM50 cheaper than what I bought back in KL last time. Cheapest model entry level camera starting at RM399 with further discount and free gift. It’s quite a good deal, serious.

However, standing at there promoting was not a good job as I stand whole day, with perhaps sit for like less than 5 minutes in between and only sit during the break. HAHA. I have a pair of powerful legs now.

Anyway, if you happen to read this blog, come drop by at Queensbay Mall, in front of McDonald’s to say hi or check out some camera. Cheer! =)

  • First Day With Sigma 8-16mm At Hard Rock Hotel Penang

This is what I did after getting my new Sigma 8-16mm super ultra wide angle lens for Canon mount last week. =D I asked my girlfriend, Hueisean together to go to the Hard Rock Hotel to try some shots with the latest lens.

I think I can be the ambassador for Hard Rock Hotel Penang because I always go there to take photos and walk for fun, then post onto my blog. =D I guess that’s the best relaxing place to take photos and because they have parking spaces too!

You see the lens, it’s so wide that it can capture almost everything with little and unnoticeable distortion. It was a quiet afternoon with no live band at the lobby as live band is only available during the night. Though, the laughter and shouting of kids and adults playing at the pool can be heard. What a lovely evening.

It was close to sunset but sunset was no where to be seen. It’s not super hot yet, sun shines on our faces and the warm sunlight touched our skin. We spent a little time at the beach, taking photos and chit-chat with each other, at the same time see people playing water sports.

The ivory golden sandy beach outside Hard Rock Hotel is no doubt the cleanest beach in Penang. The other beaches are dirty.

    She jumped.

Perspiration started coming out from the pores and it’s also the time for us to leave the hotel for some cooling in the vehicles. It’s nice to try out the lens at this place but what I wanted to shoot most is some nice interiors.

    Interiors like something below:

The lobby and a male toilet. =D I’ve no regret of getting this lens because it’s serve me well as a interior design student and a photography enthusiast. Welcome to Hard Rock Hotel.

  • Penang Canon EOS User Gathering At Coob Cafe

Last Sunday night, I went to Coob Cafe at KOMTAR Walk to meet up with the Penang Canon EOS DSLR users for a little chit-chat and sharing session (some known as TT / Teh Tarik session). Well, since I am in a holiday and so lucky to be back in my hometown while his event happens, so I went to join the EOS DSLR user for a little gathering to make friends and try some power gear. =D

These lens total up can buy a car. I am serious.

I actually got the invites from Facebook and I knew one of them. It’s a good sharing session because I get to played with some powerful lenses and learn about some photography stuff, as you know I am still very noob in photography even though I have been playing for quite a long time, yet my interest in photography has not faded yet.

As you know, I just bought a new lens lately, the Sigma, so I shared it out too. One thing, my camera was the oldest at there, using the Canon EOS 400D, what a classic. Even though it’s old, I am still loving it, it’s still powering my blog with all the awesome photos.

Somehow, I am thinking of upgrade, just that I don’t have enough money for it yet. So in the mean time of saving it, I am still sticking with my lovely 400D. =D

Played 2 L lenses at there, one was the 70-200 F2.8L and another one was the 100mm F2L. L lens is the top of the lines and the most high quality Canon photographic lens, people like to say L stands for luxurious. For your information, an L lens, the cheapest one is about RM2.8k. Expensive right? Photography is really an expensive hobby. However, the photo quality is superb!

Please support my sponsors (advertisement on blog) more so I can save more money to upgrade my photography gear. =D

    Do you like photography?

  • Sigma 8-16mm F4.5-5.6 DC Canon Mount

Sigma 8-16mm F4.5-5.6 DC Canon Mount

    IMG_7201

Deng deng deng. I want to welcome a new family member into my camera gear family and that is the super duper ultra wide angle Sigma 8-16mm F4.5-5.6 DC for the Canon mount. Some might thing that 8-16mm is an fish eye lens and no, it’s really a super duper wide angle lens with little little bit distortion when wide open at 8mm, but still awesome.

    IMG_7203

Bought these lens at my favourite camera shop, Click N’ Snap on Penang Road and I used it mostly for interiors shots. As currently I am studying interior design and I need to shoot more interiors for reference and also to add the photo into my Ethnic Interior Design portfolio. =D

    IMG_7249

With this awesome wide lens, I can shoot almost everything into the frame. Previously my 17-50 is so not wide that I have to stitch a few photo for a wide angle shot. Now I’ve got no worry! The next thing in my wishlist is a camera body (Canon EOS 7D), then I will feel good and satisfy already. =D

Show you one or tw0 or three sample image first and the coming post will show you more to poison you guys. =D

    Awesome or not? =D

  • Walking Around Level 4 of Taylor’s University Library

Walking Around Level 4 of Taylor’s University Library

I was doing some group discussion on an assignment in the library for few hours then I got bored. It’s not nice to stick an ass on the chair for few hours without moving around. Because of boredness, I took out my little handy Panasonic Lumix LX5 to go shoot around. I guess I’ll let the photos speak for now.

It was evening time, nearing to sunset and there’s still many people in the library. Library is always a very cold place with very low temperature, moving around could warm me up a little bit too.

I think the best part of Taylor’s University is the resources archive, the library because it has a very big collection of books for me to do reference. There’s no way that I can afford those design’s reference book.

Another thing is I like the Internet, spending time in the library downloading huge files with the blazing fast Internet. =D Yum yum.

And I’m writing this post from the library. =)

  • I Bought A New Camera, Panasonic Lumix LX5 from Digital Mall

I Bought A New Camera, Panasonic Lumix LX5 from Digital Mall

Hohoho people. I am back to the blogging scene, hopefully. Really very sorry, I guess you guys don’t want to hear about my lame excuses again. It’s just I am lazy and lazy to upload photo. XD One word, lazy. I apologize sincerely and I try to catch up with you guys when the real Internet access is available at my area as they are still installing at the moment.

So I want to share with you guys that I have bought a new camera, a compact point and shoot that I have craving for so long, it was the Panasonic LX3 but now it’s the Panasonic LX5 which came out like a month ago. Drools. Likes. Although it doesn’t really fit into jeans pocket but yet, it’s still a compact camera which does manual mode and as an alternative for my DSLR.

Have been using for DSLR for 3 years, taking that baby out for everyday and finally thought of lighten myself instead of a heavy gear. While this serve as a transition gear until I get a new DSLR, somewhere next year.

I checked out the Internet and seems like price everywhere is the same. I bought for RM1599 at PJ Digital Mall, First Floor Canon Stall. Good price IMO. Found the place from a forum. First time going there and shockingly looking the exterior a little bit ugly building but inside is just anoter Low Yat Plaza, filled with electronic, gadget and computer hardware, just that it’s smaller.

I went out that day with Victor, my school mate, Leo Club friend, also was my senior in Chung Ling High School. After buying that white sexy, I drove home.

GPS on my Nexus One, quite fast, quite precise but the POI not so updated, and no sexy “Turn right into Jalan Blabla”, but still rocks.

It was raining again here in Kuala Lumpur, my hand was itchy and can’t wait to touch my new sexy and I took it out for a road shoot. Shoot here and there to cure my itchyness. It’s a wonderful compact camera. I love it. No regret buying it.

So many people queuing for iPhone 4. OMG. Sigh.

Went to Sunway Pyramid to buy some groceries and tid bits. It’s nearest to my place so I went there. =)

This is not a rat, it’s a Guinea Pig, like what you see in G Force the movie.

    Han Tek, from Penang.

Han Hui, also from Penang. No, they are not siblings.

Went to dinner right after going to Sunway Pyramid as I was too hungry then I called my 2 housemates along. =)

LX5 Rocks! Sometimes also can’t differentiate which is taken from a DSLR which is taken from a LX5. Haha. Yo! Have a nice day. Writing blog so early is pretty fun.
