  • 18 Birthday to Batu Ferringhi and Hard Rock Penang During Midnight

18 Birthday to Batu Ferringhi and Hard Rock Penang During Midnight

I am talking about my birthday again. Right after having dinner at JF Western Food on my birthday, on 16th July on Friday night, we went to sit car and went around the city. It a typical night with the mind of don’t know where to go, no point of destination. We went to meet at Boo Teik house and hopped on to his Mercedes Benz and he drove us here and there. Pointless, just crapping and enjoying the beautiful city of Penang.

We went to Inti Internation College’s hostel to see Jacqueline. a friend of my good friend Chien Chern. Just to say hi and we drove off away.

Then we went downtown for a round and in the end, no idea why, and we went to Batu Ferringhi. WIthout any reason again, we went to the closed down Mutiara Hotel just for a stop, inhale some fresh air as we were so so so full after the meal at the western food there. We did not drink but we look as if we were drunk because too full, too tired, too uncomfortable and too sleepy, but we still didn’t want to go home yet.

We had a stupid plan which was going into Mutiara Hotel but unfortunately there’s security guard taking care of the abandoned hotel. Still no idea what this hotel is gonna be, no renovation work or plan is going on. It was one of the 5 stars hotel in Penang. Pretty cool but now it’s down, no idea why.

Zheng Feng and Zez Chien were not feeling so well because of car sickness along the Batu Feringghi winding road and ate too much. After getting some fresh air, they felt better and finally we decided to go home.

But before dropping me back home, we went to Hard Rock Hotel to use the toilet, it was 2am at that time and there’s no more live band. Lobby was pretty quiet. Everyone was so ready to sleep already.

Had some toilet business then we were all off. That’s it, that’s how I celebrated or how I passed by birthday. Tired, fun, happy, cool, miss. Unfortunately some friend couldn’t join me but thank you all for your wish. This year I spent most time replying Facebook wishes. I got over 200 from Facebook and I replied every single of it. Tired tired. Haha. Happy birthday to you. =D

18 Birthday Celebration at JF Western Food

Hahahahahahahaha. My birthday is 16th July and I am 18 years old now. Now is already October it’s already 3 months late, this post is really old but I don’t care, I still want to post SOME photos and share it up with you guys and also archive it here so next time I can read again. =D

On 16th July 2010, it was a Friday, I invited a bunch of friends, got Chien Chern, Boo Teik, Yiphing, Ammerlynn, Sherreen, Zheng Feng, Zez Chien and Alvin to JF Western Food at Fettes Park to eat dinner on my treats.

    Chien Chern.

    Yiphing.

But before dinner, I asked some of them come to my place to meet up with me only then we go there together. Chien Chern and Yiphing brought presents! And I don’t want to share what’s that. LOL. Pretty cool.

Still remember that I went to NS few months back? Luckily my hair came out for my birthday, not much, but still not bald, botak.

I did not make a reservation on that place and luckily they have tables for all of us. Everyone get to order everything they like and eat all the can. You don’t wanna know how much we ate because we just ate so damn lot.

Tiger bear from Boo Teik. Really cute present. Hahaha.

    Zheng Feng a.k.a. Johnny.

    Camera shy, Sherreen and Ammerlynn.

I have two cake that night. One is from mommy and another one is from Ammerlynn. Funny thing about mommy is that she asked me whether I wanted a cake or not and I told us that “why can’t you give me a surprise?”, then she said “ok no cake for you”, but in the end bought a cake. Hahaha.

You know, after eating all the western food, our stomach was so full and bloated and we still tried very hard to finish the cake. At first, I thought of taking half of the cake home but in the end, don’t know how, we manage to finish everything. Really damn full. But then some of them didn’t feel so comfortable because of too full.

Have cake will also have cake cutting session and birthday song. I am not really a “make a wish” person because I didn’t really do it last time, but this time I made a wish, no, in fact is many wish. I am very greedy one. Haha. Hopefully my wishes goes well and will come true. =D

Sherreen and Ammerlynn! Ignore Ammerlynn. LOL.

Boo Teik, thanks for your tiger! And taking the roses from Arron to me. Haha.

    Zheng Feng.

    Alvin, long long friend.

    Yiphing, long long friend.

Zez Chien, friend friend friend. =D

    Chien Chern, buddy friend!

They love hugging the tiger actually.

Happy birthday to me, happy 18 years old, happy happy everyday to you and to me. =)

p/s: Thank you Arron for you roses.
pp/s: Thank you everyone for your wishes last time. =D

  • Cheras Taman Connaught Pasar Malam on Wedesday Night

Cheras Taman Connaught Pasar Malam on Wedesday Night

Pasar malam is night market. I am a pasar malam fan because when I was in Penang, I often go to the pasar malam to look for cheap street food and just walk around for fun among the crowds. It’s nice. After coming to Kuala Lumpur, I haven’t really get to know all the night market. So far, I have been to one at SS2 on Monday and this is another one on Wednesday, the Cheras Taman Connaught pasar malam.

According to my KL friend, this pasar malam is the longest in KL and is about 1.5km long. Wow. This is what it attracts me and I thought there would be selling lots of stuff. Unfortunately, from Sunway to Cheras is like 20 minutes drive away, it’s kinda far.

So on a fine Wednesday night, I decided to make a visit to the night market, navigate through a GPS and a half-local KL people. Haha. Zhi Sheng was the half-local KL people who actually brought me to the wrong road, and turned out I still have to look for Google Maps because Taman Connaught pasar malam POI is not in the GPS list. In the end, we found our way, just navigate to Giant Taman Connaught or UCSI then you can find the pasar malam already.

I was pretty excited when I see the stalls and people flowing here and there. Road was jam and looking for parking was kinda difficult. Try to park at UCSI there and walk to the pasar malam, there’s plenty of parking at UCSI.

We started our journey through the long pasar malam. I was with my classmate Zhi Sheng and my housemate Wei Ding. My classmate girls were there too, just that we went there by two cars. Funny thing was they went out earlier from uni than us but then we arrived earlier. They were lost too.

What’s so fun about pasar malam is that you can buy cheap cheap street food like fish balls, satay and stuff then can eat and shop at the same time. This is really fun. But then keep buying little street food is rather expensive when you total them up. I didn’t care because I don’t always get to go to pasar malam. Surprise to see that the food there are so much different from the pasar malam in Penang.

They love fermented beancurd or simply known as smelly toufu here which something that couldn’t find in Penang. Really smelly.

Tako balls! Not so awesome though.

You can actually see a lot of college students at there because the pasar malam is just beside UCSI university. The place makes me feel lively and a bit like home, just different is that the people here speaks Cantonese instead of Hokkien at home.

We walk walk walk. One different thing again is that they do sell pirated DVD and books at pasar malam which you will not see in the pasar malam in Penang island. In the island only, all the pasar malam don’t sell pirated DVD, which is pretty cool. Haha.

Famous Alisan Taiwanese Chicken Chop, Penang also have.

    This is wonderful.

So have you been wondering what stalls do they have on this very long 1.5km pasar malam? Well, to be honest, most of the stalls are repeating. You will see the same logo, same price, same food every few hundred meters. Really funny. They are just selling the same thing but doubling or trippling their own stall only to make the pasar malam long. Very clever indeed.

Lok lok here is damn expensive man.

Then surprisingly, in the middle of the pasar malam, I met up with the girls, they were coming from the other side and we were walking on the opposite direction. Cool.

I didn’t really eat a proper meal. My dinner was keep buying fish ball, sausage, satay to eat. All the little little food.

The weather was that nice that night. It rained, but we were hot and sweating and thanks to the light rain, cooled us up. However, the rain get bigger later. Haha.

Rain big big and we went home. The pasar malam is real long and hopefully got chance go again but not anytime soon cause go there is money wasting, far and eat a lot. Haha.

    P1010710

Have been going to Snowflake Taiwanese Dessert shop quite many times lately. Last week, it’s my friend Arvin’s birthday and he treated me Snowflake and here’s what I ordered, it’s Snowflake Grass Jelly Series with Sweet Potato, Barley and Pearl. Rocks.
  • Went To Petaling Street Last Sunday

Went To Petaling Street Last Sunday

I think I may have been to Petaling Street when I was very very small, just only a little bit of memories but still can’t recall when was it then I’ve been there. So last Sunday, I drove to town with my housemate, Han Tek to check out a basketball match between Malaysia’s KL Dragons and Indonesia’s Satria Muda. The match was awesome and it’s at the MABA Stadium which is quite near to Petaling Street.

So after the match, we walked to Petaling Street from the stadium to eat my dinner. I am surprised by the heritage old looked shop houses and area. It makes me feel a bit like home because they are cool and Penang is a heritage city as you all know.

The Petaling Street is covered with a roof to prevent rain from coming in but unfortunately, walking there was not a pleasure because the walkway is so narrow. The place is famous for selling imitation stuff and most of the stalls are operated by foreign workers. Very weird of this. Being in a Chinatown but not much Chinese selling stuff at there nowadays.

Went to the famous Tai Lok Mee or they call it Hokkien Mee here for dinner.

After that went back home without using a GPS because GPS couldn’t work that time. Luckily, I found my way back to Federal Highway. Then I found out that Kuala Lumpur and Bandar Sunway is actually quite near, IMO. =D

Tips: You can take LRT to Pasar Seni station and walk there. It’s pretty near.

  • Where Is The Internet at Taylor’s University Hostel?

Where Is The Internet at Taylor’s University Hostel?

When I first moved into Taylor’s Residences, the apartment hostel located in-campus of Taylor’s University, there’s no Internet access I was told that the service will be ready by end of August. Okay, I subscribe to DiGi Broadband while waiting for it.

When end of August came, there’s no Internet service. Sucks. A new notice were given up that they were upgrading the signal strength and stuff and Internet access was promised to ready before October. Fine.

Obviously it’s just some stupid reason to cover their slowness. Because they only install the modem/router/access point thing in the middle of September.

Now is already October right? Almost middle of the month already and still no Internet access here! WTF and pissed off by their service and promises. Now they don’t dare to give us an exact date of when it will be available. Everything is just so slow. Taylor’s University is a good school, but the service is really bad.

Complain? I did already and I would like to write on my blog and share with you guys. Sigh.

  • Walk Walk at Pavilion, Fahrenheit 88 and Kelana Jaya LRT

Walk Walk at Pavilion, Fahrenheit 88 and Kelana Jaya LRT

Hello people. Still remember two weeks ago I went to Kuala Lumpur with my friends from Penang. Yes, here am I continuing my story. It was a rainy day. Pavilion and KLCC is like stone throw away but then because of the rain, we couldn’t get across the street and walk to Pavilion. That’s the problem.

We tried to wait but the rain was like getting bigger and we 7 people only had an umbrella. We hailed a taxi at KLCC and he wanted RM10. We did not get in of course. Carmen thought it was cheap. Haha. Then we asked for another taxi, and RM5 he wanted and agree to take 5 of us. That’s better. The other two, Xiu Xin and Tee Jin walked to Pavilion with an umbrella. =D

Taxi dropped us at the drop off area at the back door, saw a lot of nice car and we went to take photos. Wonder when only will I have a very powerful car valet parked at here. Haha.

Then we walk walk and walk walk. Nothing much to do at there, just walk.

Walked into Apple shop to check out stuff but don’t have iPhone 4 on display. Very jealous when seeing iPhone 4 user go and shop for accessories. >.<

I actually have something to do at Pavilion. I went to DiGi Centre to change my prepaid plan to DG Smart Plan. Now I can surf on the go, unlimited for only RM68 per month. Haha. The whole conversion process took two hours and I have to paid RM68 in advance. The phone need to have RM5 in credit balance in order to the conversion.

After using it for a few weeks, I felt that the DiG is still not better than Maxis, except the price. Cheap!

I didn’t want to eat fast food already because I had McDonald’s for afternoon tea, but since everyone was so craving for it, I joined the fun. Expensive Carl’s Junior which I only will go once in a blue moon. I have no money!

We then walk walk to Fahrenheit 88, the new mall, used to be KL Plaza and it’s pretty small inside and not very cool. Nothing much in there, many shop not yet open and what I am most excited about is Uniqlo. =D Yay. Opening somewhere in November if I am not mistaken.

Oktoberfest is here! I don’t drink, too bad.

    Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre’s toilet.

Walked back to KLCC to take the LRT back to Kelana Jaya where our cars were.

A bit sampat squatting at there, but I was just so tired.

    Arron!

Guys, from Penang and Chung Ling High School. Got Shah Alam, got Kelana Jaya, got Sepang and also me, Bandar Sunway.

Me, Arron, Carmen, Xiu Xin, Tee Jin, Pin Hoong, Jing Min. Yay.

Then good night, it’s late and tired. Penang people in KL. Haha.

  • I Bought A New Camera, Panasonic Lumix LX5 from Digital Mall

I Bought A New Camera, Panasonic Lumix LX5 from Digital Mall

Hohoho people. I am back to the blogging scene, hopefully. Really very sorry, I guess you guys don’t want to hear about my lame excuses again. It’s just I am lazy and lazy to upload photo. XD One word, lazy. I apologize sincerely and I try to catch up with you guys when the real Internet access is available at my area as they are still installing at the moment.

So I want to share with you guys that I have bought a new camera, a compact point and shoot that I have craving for so long, it was the Panasonic LX3 but now it’s the Panasonic LX5 which came out like a month ago. Drools. Likes. Although it doesn’t really fit into jeans pocket but yet, it’s still a compact camera which does manual mode and as an alternative for my DSLR.

Have been using for DSLR for 3 years, taking that baby out for everyday and finally thought of lighten myself instead of a heavy gear. While this serve as a transition gear until I get a new DSLR, somewhere next year.

I checked out the Internet and seems like price everywhere is the same. I bought for RM1599 at PJ Digital Mall, First Floor Canon Stall. Good price IMO. Found the place from a forum. First time going there and shockingly looking the exterior a little bit ugly building but inside is just anoter Low Yat Plaza, filled with electronic, gadget and computer hardware, just that it’s smaller.

I went out that day with Victor, my school mate, Leo Club friend, also was my senior in Chung Ling High School. After buying that white sexy, I drove home.

GPS on my Nexus One, quite fast, quite precise but the POI not so updated, and no sexy “Turn right into Jalan Blabla”, but still rocks.

It was raining again here in Kuala Lumpur, my hand was itchy and can’t wait to touch my new sexy and I took it out for a road shoot. Shoot here and there to cure my itchyness. It’s a wonderful compact camera. I love it. No regret buying it.

So many people queuing for iPhone 4. OMG. Sigh.

Went to Sunway Pyramid to buy some groceries and tid bits. It’s nearest to my place so I went there. =)

This is not a rat, it’s a Guinea Pig, like what you see in G Force the movie.

    Han Tek, from Penang.

Han Hui, also from Penang. No, they are not siblings.

Went to dinner right after going to Sunway Pyramid as I was too hungry then I called my 2 housemates along. =)

LX5 Rocks! Sometimes also can’t differentiate which is taken from a DSLR which is taken from a LX5. Haha. Yo! Have a nice day. Writing blog so early is pretty fun.

  • Kelana Jaya LRT to KLCC with Penang People

Kelana Jaya LRT to KLCC with Penang People

Last weekend was an awesome, wet, tiring, reunion and fun Saturday to me. I get to go to downtown Kuala Lumpur for a walk, to see the magnificent twin towers which had become boring to me, see the gorgeous Pavilion shopping mall, the crowded but not as crowded as Singapore’s Orchard Rd’s Bukit Bintang. =D

From Bandar Sunway to Kuala Lumpur. I have found a way to get there fast, save expensive parking cost at Kuala Lumpur’s shopping mall and that is park your car or go to Kelana Jaya LRT then then the LRT straight to the city. I know people here might know it already, but there’s still from Penang still don’t know.

Haha. You need to use your Touch N’ Go to part at the LRT and you need to use the LRT service in order to have your car park fee at RM3 the whole day or else you will be charged hourly. Arron asked me why I knew about this, because I Google-d. LOL.

That day was a wet day because it’s raining on and off, cats and dogs, Tom and Jerry. Sometimes big, sometimes, small. Made going place difficult only.

That days attendee were me your blogger, Arron from Penang, Tee Jin, from Penang, Pin Hoong from Penang, Carmen from Penang, Xiu Xin from Penang, and Jing Min from Penang. OK, they are all from Penang. I don’t know what am I talking about. >.< It’s Saturday, it’s weekend and everyone took a day off from study. Some come far from Shah Alam, some come far from Damansara and the furthest was Sepang, which is 45 minutes ride from there. Woo.

I don’t know why, I have tell you before. I have something on subways and LRT. I just like riding on it. It’s fun. At here in Kuala Lumpur, there’s the KTM and LRT. KTM is nearer to me and I get free parking by parking at Carrefour carpark, but then I don’t want to use the service because of the slowness, and dirty. LRT is much more faster, frequency is like 5 minutes per train and I can go KLCC directly, though a Ringgit more expensive.

    What is this?!

I tell you LRT user, or whatever commuter user in KL, go get a Touch N Go car for your ride, save up time and make Malaysia more high tech. Utilize it, it’s not just for toll. I have one, bought from Penang and I pay for Penang Bridge for only RM5.60 instead of standard toll rate RM7.00. Special privilege.

Actually, there’s reason I go to KLCC because my lecturer asked me to go check out the HOMEDEC exhibition which is related to my studies. My friends who are not in the course were so kind to acompany me go there. You guys rocks. Thank you.

Super expensive chocolate, who can buy for me?

When we reached KLCC, we wanted to go to the KLCC, which is the convention centre but sadly it rain super heavily because there’s no shade or covered walkway or underground passes going there, do they? We didn’t know so we waited the rain to stop only then we walk there.

I don’t really know around in there, I seriously need a pro to guide me. That would be my dad, but he’s not around in Kuala Lumpur. Perhaps the next exhibition, I shall ask him along then explain each and everything to me. =) Superman dad rocks.

Bought some cheap magazine at there to do some references at home.

After KLCC HomeDec, the sky rained again! @#&%(*%)! We wanted to call the Sun come out but we didn’t have his number so in the end, we wait wait wait, then we take taxi go to Pavilion. Haha. The first taxi really shit, quoted us RM10 for just a walking distance, the next one was better, RM5, we 5 person hopped on and another 2 were under the
umbrella. Next stop, Pavilion, Bukit Bintang and go back home. ^.^

  • Back Home, Back To Penang

    Back Home, Back To Penang

Home sweet home people. Wherever you are, how great the city is, home always is still the best to me, IMO. I love home, I miss home, I miss my hometown, I miss the people here. This place rocks. I dont know some of you may say how fun Kuala Lumpur is, but to me, speaking frankly, I still haven’t adapt into the place yet. =)

Had a great week in Penang, my hometown and will be back to Kuala Lumpur soon. =) Blogging have been slowing for me, laziness and slowness in Internet connection sucks. I really need to blog more often! Woo.

p/s: Lomography feel photos taken with my Google Nexus One. Nice or not?
