  • A Short Afternoon Walk On Armenian Street

A Short Afternoon Walk On Armenian Street

    Dark dark sky.

After karaoke for RM1 at Red Box with dearest Hueisean, we went to watch Rapunzel at Prangin Mall, then we were out of the mall. I didn’t want to go back home, so I drove to Armenian Street to take a walk. Actually, my intention was just to check out where is the many-people-talkabout’s Amelie’s Cafe is located at.

Old hair cut. The lady owner don’t allow me to take photos. Ish.

    Dearest Huei Sean. =D

Don’t you think the pre-war building are pretty?

Armenian Street is a short street full with pre-war buildings and very heritage looking. The well-known symbol to me are the Chinese temple and Edelwiss Swiss Restaurant.

    Lodging House. Hotel? Haha.

Lovely red. =) Original beaded shoes.

Only until recently, I read many blogs and found out the existing of Amelie’s Cafe. A very little cafe on the shophouses and with a very vintage and heritage design. Really like it.

I just passed by the place, and walked for a while because it was drizzling and I had my lunch not long ago only.

Nice camera man. I want all of these!

Then I visited an antique museum shop. Inside has many antiques from the olden days and I felt they are pretty cool.

There’s a French woman chatting out there and selling fruit juices and have some French croissant for sale. Unfortunately, I was not hungry. So I just took a walk in there, after that we hopped into our car and it started to rain heavily.

    Beautiful trishaw.

    Home we went.

  • Sushi Zanmai and Crepe Cake for Nita’s Belated Birthday

Sushi Zanmai and Crepe Cake for Nita’s Belated Birthday

This week’s Tuesday is the end of final exam. Haha. Design course not really don’t have exam but for this sem, I have two papers to test and that’s Technical English and Building Materials. So it’s just two days of final exams. Finally it’s over but my juniors are doing their SPM, hopefully they are doing well right now.

So on Tuersday, after exam. Nita, my Indonesian classmate invited us for Japanese food at Sushi Zanmai. Oh yeah, finally have a chance to visit the always long-queue Sushi Zanmai. I have no idea why I always see a long queue outside Sushi Zanmai. Why?

It was actually a belated birthday celebration for Nita because on the actual date which was two weeks ago, we were busy with assignment so we didn’t celebrate and so it’s postponed. Still fun!

Somehow, I take it as belated birthday celebration plus a little bit of farewell because this week could be my last week at here because I have 1.5 months holiday ahead! =) And also, 3 friends, Connie, Zhi Inn and Lai Quen are going to change to degree because Taylor’s just recently introduced the degree of BA Interior Architecture but then I couldn’t change because my qualification is only SPM.

Not finish yet. After Sushi Zanmai, we decided to treat back Nita a birthday cake and we went to Kuchai Lama. I have no idea where Kuchai Lama is and GPS was my guide. Haha. I know it’s somewhere near Old Klang Rd if I am not mistaken.

Go Kuchai Lama, Indulge Cafe just to eat a crepe cake. Haha. Happy 17 birthday Nita, belated!

  • Walk Around Bukit Bintang and Uniqlo on an Early Friday Morning

Walk Around Bukit Bintang and Uniqlo on an Early Friday Morning

Last Friday, I went to town alone early in the morning to send my dropped-super-damaged-Tamron-lens to the service centre (Futoromic) at Berjaya Times Square. I didn’t want to go back to Penang to send back to the original shop that I bought my lens because they will eventually send to KL again. Since I am in KL right now so I might as well send in directly to the service centre.

So what happened to my lens? I dropped to the ground from my height and cannot focus, cannot turn, and got crack. Haha. They called and the fixing charges is around RM450. Still better than getting a new lens. =) Now is waiting to go collect my lens.

Haven’t been to Times Square for quite some time. It’s not really a good shopping mall. Selling stuff like Sungei Wang or Prangin Mall in Penang. The indoor theme park is still on, heard a little bit of scream but doesn’t fancy me anymore because I have been in there when it was first opened many years back.

After sending the stuff to service. It was still early and it’s like only 11 in the morning. I decided not to go back so early but go check out the newly open Uniqlo at Fahrenheit 88. People have been talking about it for the past few weeks. Heard that there were super duper long queue during opening. What for?

There’s a new broadband/mobile network in town, using the 4G spectrum and it’s YES by YTL. Finally a rival to P1. They have put up a large LED cube at Bukit Bintang, outside Lot10 and I tell it’s really very cool. It’s to promote their broadband. But somehow, IMO, I still prefer a cable/copperline Internet because wireless Internet is never as stable as a cable one. Wireless broadband is only an alternative to those who couldn’t get cable to their home.

Did you sign up for YES?

A little bit of walk, from Berjaya Times Square, I reached Uniqlo.

There’s promotion on jeans and t-shirt. RM50 for jeans and RM30 for t-shirt which are quite cheap. I didn’t want to buy the jeans because I am going for more like Skiny or Slim-cut. It’s more fitting. Though, I bought t-shirts at there! Hehe. Do you know that the Kuala Lumpur’s Uniqlo is the largest currently outside Japan? It has 3 floors. =) From Wikipedia one.

After shopping, finally willing to go back already. I am having final exam now. Good luck to me and also to all those who are having exam right now, especially my junior who are taking SPM.

  • First Day To Watch 3D At W Cinemax At Island Plaza

First Day To Watch 3D At W Cinemax At Island Plaza

Hohoho, Penang island now have a new cineplex at Island Plaza, which add into the family of Golden Screen Cinema at Gurney Plaza and Queensbay Mall, Cathay Cineplex at Prangin Mall and soon to open Tanjung Golden Village at First Avenue.

Last time, there’s actually a Mega Pavilion cineplex at Island Plaza but closed down after few years and few years later, the cinema business at there is back and I have a new place to go.

What’s so special about this W Cinemax is that it shows 3D movie mostly and only one or two normal film.

So I came back last Thursday, it’s officially opened on Thursday 4/11/2010 and you know I like new stuff and just nice that I was back home, I went there with my girlfriend to catch up a old 3D film, The Child Eye.

There are only 3 cinema hall and very cute thing is they named it as X, Y, Z instead of the 1, 2, 3, 4. Since it’s promotion, the ticket is only RM10 and it’s very cheap for a 3D film when compare to GSC or TGV. I have no idea what’s the original ticket rate though, hopefully it’s cheap.

    Hueisean. =)

    W, X, Y, Z! =D Have you been there already?

  • Last Day Of Semester 1 in Diploma In Interior Design

Last Day Of Semester 1 in Diploma In Interior Design

Time flies people, so fast my semester one of my study is coming to an end already. This week is week 14 which is the last study week but I only went to one day of class which is on the Tuesday to attend CK’s Building Materials class. I skipped other classes and some classes are already off and what I have to do now is to rush my assignments, lots of it and prepare two exam papers which is coming in two weeks time.

Finally, after so much of drawing and hands-on stuff, I can get myself into a study mood, memorize, writing, like what I did during high school. Hands-on and drawing is actually harder than exam to me because I am kinda bad in art stuff. Hehe. So this two weeks, I’ll just stuck inside my hostel and campus, just to get things done, hopefully there will not much white hair pops out of my head and stuff.

I went back to Penang last week for Deepavali, holiday not celebration and came back on Monday, then I only attended class on Tuesday. Then that’s all. Work time all the time. So went to take a photos with CK, my lecturer, somehow I still have to meet him in the next semester and more work from him. OMG.

Have been going to the divisional office quite many times lately, mainly to ask about holidays, and academic calendar stuff. Haha. One really crazy thing that I found out is that my next semester starts somewhere March next year.

Woo. I have 3 months holiday. Really crazy. Haha. According to the staff, my program is now follow the academic calendar of Australian education system where it is summer holiday now. But then after that I have to study for 7 months straight until end of year. Not bad too. So I have a lot of free time do many stuff, I gonna work! MONEY. Hehe.

On the other post, I gonna tell you something about Taylor’s Residence or the hostel right inside the campus of Taylor’s University which I am residing in. I am very not satisfy with the staying here and I going to move out soon! Hehe.

A single super small room at Taylor’s Residence is RM760 and the rental rate is going to increase soon. Truly not recommended. =) I want to look for somewhere with apartment facilities but then it’s gonna be next year since I have a long holiday.

Afternoon of Tuesday, I went to my friend’s place to check out his magic trick. Really pro. Haha. Good morning by the way.

  • Discussion Room and Random Stuffs at Taylor’s University

Discussion Room and Random Stuffs at Taylor’s University

Feel like sharing photos tonight so it’s some quite random stuff here. Pictures speak now and a little bit of caption. By the way, semester one is coming to an end and I have so many assignment due dates coming. OMG, sleepless and stressful night coming to me and Happy Halloween. =D

  • PLKN Experience: Buddhist Class

    PLKN Experience: Buddhist Class

Don’t bother about random post but I just found out that I have many things about my NS that happened in March to May this year that I haven’t post up. So I know that many junior have been chosen for the national service a.k.a. PLKN and here you found a good place to know the truth and life about it in there.

Every NS trainee have to go for spiritual class to learn more about your religion. I am a Buddhist, so I attended the Buddhist class every Thursday and Friday night. There’s teacher came from Buddhist society to our camp at night and give us speech and teachings.

    DSC04302
    Friday class.

On Thursday night, we learn about Buddhism, on Friday night, we learn about Di Zi Gui and how to live happily. It’s quite fun and you know it’s actually the funnest night of all week where it’s not very hot, but wearing the uniform or call pakaian 2 still hot a bit and it’s all Chinese there where we can communicate in Chinese, easily and happily. =D

    Thursday class.

They actually have English class but majority is Mandarin speaking so there’s only like 8 went to the Chinese class. This is the time we makes fun together and talk. And we have too many Chinese around 200 in the camp so our class is again divided into small group instead following our own squadron.

Khang, Chuen, me, Weng and Comel. =D

Another thing is on Saturday, we go to Chinese temple to pray which I will talk about it another time. =D Christian will go to church whereas the Hindu will go to Hindu temple. So NS is not all about physical training and stuff. It also try to train your mental.

Miss the days back in the camp. Hmm. :X

  • Malaysia’s Westports KL Dragons vs Indonesia’s Satria Muda at MABA Stadium

Malaysia’s Westports KL Dragons vs Indonesia’s Satria Muda at MABA Stadium

I never know that Malaysia has a basketball team, I never know that Asian are active in the basketball scene except China. Now I want to let you know that Malaysia has a professional basketball team and it’s not kampung style basketball. They are the Westports KL Dragons. Yeah!

Recently, I was invited to go check out a basketball game betweet Westports KL Dragons versus Satria Muda which is from Indonesia at MABA (Malaysia Basketball Association) Stadium in town, near to Stadium Merdeka there. It’s the opening game of the AirAsia Asean Basketball League. Not so familiar about it? Nevermind, now you know it, it’s cool, it’s professional, it’s happening. ASEAN countries compete with each other in the league, just like NBA, but this is ASEAN.

I have never been to a real basketball match before and this is really my golden opportunity. I drove to town with Han Teik, my housemate and also a basketball fan to check out the game and we were pretty excited because it’s our first real professional basketball match. It’s International man.

I didn’t really know where is the MABA Stadium is and luckily I have a GPS with me which lead me to my destination. It’s somewhere near Petaling Street and Stadium Merdeka. If you want to take the LRT, you can get off at Pasar Seni on KJ Line and walk there.

    Han Tek.

S.O.X. is the official telco sponsor for Westports KL Dragons. =D Rocks. If you are S.O.X. members, you can get home game ticket at 20% off, which is very cheap! Good right, buy cheap ticket and come and support Malaysia. The next game will be happening this weekend 30/10/2010 where KL Dragons fight with Brunei Barracudas. Yeah, come MABA Stadium.

Back talking about the game. The stadium was pretty cool, with air-conditioned but then it’s not like what you see on NBA where there’s big TV hanging in the middle of the stadium. I was there early and the team were training by themselves.

It’s not some lousy game, the whole stadium was filled with basketball fans. The scene was really very very cool.

    Media pass, yeah!

    Cute mascot.

You know, when I saw the players, they don’t look like typical Asian to me, they are huge!

Hot cheerleading dance by S.O.X. during half time.

The game rocks man. It was so exciting and so nervous and Malaysia KL Dragons team really amaze me a lot with all the basketball tricks and skill and dunks. Damn wonderful. Well, if you are a Malaysian, please support our very own Westports KL Dragons. And also at the same time, support the sponsor, S.O.X. =D

    Fullscreen capture 10242010 54729 PM.bmp
