Oh man. I wonder why I didn’t join the drumline during highschool, it would be so shiok hearing people cheering from me from the stadium and win prizes. Haha.

The best part of the workshop and audition for final is the famous duo Ean and Cher are there to cheer for the team! So nice.

  • Taylor’s BARIO Leave A Mark Charity Event

Taylor’s BARIO Leave A Mark Charity Event

The BARIO Project at Taylor’s University is a charity project that is about providing education to poor children in Sabah. Recently they have a charity event call “Leave A Mark” where you can leave a mark then do donation to the project. I passed by the event area in campus and with curiosity, I went to check it out. Haha.

It’s nice to see charity stuff around Taylor’s. I took part in the Leave A Mark thing. It’s actually stamping your palm on a cloth, letting the children know that we know about their existence and care for them. =)

This thing is organized by the International Student group and best part of all is that they give free Ribena. Really quenched my thirst that noon.

But of course, I did make some donation as well and help them reach the target of palm stamping.

    First you pick a hand.

Then y0u pick a colour. Sorry, black was fully stamped and it’s yellow left.

    Mellysa and Wanyi.

Then you be ready to stamp.

Helper were very kind to help you to stamp.

And I left a mark, somewhere on the left. =)

  • Hueisean at Penang’s Sakura Bloom, Bayan Lepas

Hueisean at Penang’s Sakura Bloom, Bayan Lepas

Penang’s Sakura Bloom is like another attraction in Penang already, attracting people to come here to take photos. Actually they should plant more sakura tree so when it blooms, then will look so Japan-ish. Haha.

Just few years back, don’t-know-who found out that there’s Sakura blooming in Penang’s Bayan Lepas during the month of March-April and beautifying the place around Bayan Lepas, Sunshine Square and PISA there.

I went to check it out few weeks back and armed with a camera. It’s not as that awesome as I thought because it’s not blooming on the who linear street, just a few trees bloomed, yet it’s still beautiful.

Went down to take some shots. =D But don’t know where to park the car, scared that given summon when park at the roadside, any recommendation?

Hueisean, Ng. =D Still trying to improve my photography skill. Didn’t have a portrait lens that time, if have that it will be awesome.

  • Awesome Hindu’s Thaipusam Festival At Batu Caves

Awesome Hindu’s Thaipusam Festival At Batu Caves

Jam at MRR2 near to Batu Caves.

Thaipusam o Thaipusam. Last time, friends always invited me to go photoshoot at Thaipusam but I always didn’t go with them. Last year, I got to see a little part of Thaipusam happened at Dato Keramat of Penang where people throw coconut for praying and I got to join in with my friend Arron and Chien Chern.

When I was back in Penang few weeks ago, I thought “OMG, I am gonna miss Thaipusam this year because I will not be in Penang at that time”. Then I thought again, “I can celebrate and check it out in KL!”.

Parking by the roadside like 2KM before Batu Caves. Really crazy man. Clap for us as we parked close. Hehe.

Yeah, KL, Kuala Lumpur is one of the place that celebrate Thaipusam too, besides Penang. So on the day itself, I didn’t go there as early as those photography enthusiast does, I went there after lunch in the afternoon with Arron again, but this time not Chien Chern, instead is a girl, Carmen from Penang too! Both of them residing far at Sepang and only get to come down to town during holidays and went to check out the Thaipusam festival at Batu Caves.

At first we thought of not going there because was afraid of traffic congestion and hard to find parking but after checking through the net about the traffic, it was just all clear only until near to Batu Caves. Really surprise that the traffic was super duper smooth all the way from Bandar Sunway to MRR2 near Batu Caves, there’s not even a little jam, really weird. LDP is an expressway that is always jam or slow but that day was just an exception.

While our vehicle getting close to Batu Caves, there’s already vehicle parking by the roadside as far as 2KM from Batu Caves. We didn’t want to park there as it was hot and we kept on believe that there will be parking space for us at a nearer spot.

There’s even illegal parking collector collecting a fee of RM10. Being a stingy person, we didn’t want to park there and we got moving and we found a nice place, just less than 500m from Batu Caves, according to the GPS. Haha.

Me, Arron and Carmen. All Penang-kia.

We should have take the KTM to Batu Caves as the station was just right beside it. But one thing, KTM sucks! Slow and dirty.

Yay, we reached Batu Caves safely and I was pretty excited because I got to take photos. I should have bring my DSLR with me but then this trip to Batu Caves was quite spontaneous as we didn’t really plan the trip. Luckily I have my Panasonic with me and it served me well all the time.

The weather was pretty hot and sunny. Perhaps it’s Thaipusam. Anyway, since we were here, so it’s nothing good of hiding under the shade, so we just keep walking where everyone was walking to, the cave, the Batu Caves.

Well, Tzu-Chi went there to remind people not to throw rubbish on the floor but…

In case you don’t know, Thaipusam is a religious festival of the Hindu. According to Wikipedia, Thaipusam is a Hindu festival celebrated mostly by the Tamil community on the full moon in the Tamil month of Thai (January/February).

Rocks is that Malaysia is a multi-racial country where I can join the fun too! =)

Outside the famous Sri Subramaniar Swamy temple.

Frankly, I felt I was in Indian when I was there. Haha. It’s Indian anywhere! And they are friendly too. =)

Your current Prime Minister of Malaysia, Najib. Haha. He is real big.

    I say peace as it’s awesome. =)

    Red Air Asia clowns. Cute.

Saw many sponsor booths at there and one of which is Air Asia which attracted me as the booth had the most crowds. Though, I didn’t get close because I didn’t know what was speaking on the speaker, it’s all tamil and I knew nothing, except “nan-de-ri” or something which means thank you.

    Slums of Batu Caves.

Well, what you see is Malaysia, not India. It’s just not good with the trash management where trash are everywhere. I was actually keen to see Indian poking mouths and body but instead, I only saw them carrying the heavy kawadee up hill to the cave. As for poking stuff, I saw it in Penang last time.

Us before going out and was trying to capture the statue behind but failed.

Well, I have no idea what the people standing by the rail were looking at, it sounds as if we were supe
rstar, just without the red carpet.

    Awesome art craft.

The cave wasn’t very tall or high after all, like about 5-6 storeys high but then the stairs up there was very steep. I really salute the people who carry the kawadee up, and kawadee is the thing that they carry on the back with their god statue on it.

Here we go. Up and down.

Another thing I saw was, the Indian devotees went up the stairs barefooted! It was a hot day and they walked barefooted. Really power.

Since there’s so many people on the stairs, we walked slowly and carefully, about 15 minutes, we reached the top. Many medical helpers were on standby there as some were almost fainted due to the heat.

Beautiful huge cave. I like it.

It was my first time being a nature cave and it is pretty. I love caves now. It’s not just a hole in the hill but it’s really a big caves which can house many people in there and there’s also a hole on top overlooking the sky. It would be creepy during full moon where moon shines in and a werewolf or vampire turned up. Haha.

    Monkeys!

    Smiling Indian kid.

Can you see the crowds? They just keep flowing in the cave.

Spent about 10 minutes in there, walking around and take a little photos then we went back down. It was just too crowded in there and a little bit smelly, no idea what smell was that..

It wasn’t that traffic jam when we was there, it was after we came. Really powerful.

And again, they were standing by the rail and looking at us. Hmm. Superstar?

    Yummy juicy coconut!

The weather turned a little bit hotter after we came down and it was just burning all over our skins. How I wish I could get into an air-conditioned place as soon as possible and then we found coconut stalls. Bought a coconut for each of us then we drank, really quenching and the coconut meat was so awesome, young and juicy. Rocks. Only downside was that it’s not cold. It’s warm!

And so, I concluded my trip to Batu Caves and we all said it was real awesome. Another place is visited in Kuala Lumpur, time to go for the next place. =D Any recommendation of place to go in Selangor area?

  • Photos Of Leo Idol 2010

    Photos Of Leo Idol 2010

Below are some old photos of Leo Idol 2010 that happened last year at Han Chiang High School’s Stadium. Every year, Leo Club organizes a talent quest competition called Leo Idol but I heard that last year’s was the last one already, don’t know is it true or not.

I have been participating in the helper team for 3 years already but I did not help out for last year’s. I was in national service so don’t be surprise for my bald head. Hehe.

So how did I come out from national service camp to attend this Leo Idol event? Actually I was on MC, sick and came out of camp but I recovered and I still have time, so I went to check them out. Hehe.

Leo Idol was getting better, the participants were so strong, so good in singing and they really amazed me a lot.

Each batch was like better than previous batch I felt. Real awesome night.

Botak head. Real old me man. =D

  • Gift Exchange Party at Anthony Tan’s Place

Gift Exchange Party at Anthony Tan’s Place

Last week, my tuition teacher, Anthony Tan who taught me Maths and Science had a gift exchange party at his place. His place is not a typical house, but some sort of entertainment house IMO with KTV, snooker, TVs, food and more. Anthony is always a teacher full of respect. To be honest, without him, my science and maths wouldn’t get A last time during high school already. =)

    So many gifts!

I thought it’s a Christmas + New Year themed party but in fact, it’s just a gift exchange party for fun, a party to relax before school reopens on the 3rd of January for most of the people. So each people present brought a gift worth at least RM18 and trust me, there’s many funny, stupid and lame present. It’s not really exchanging for something awesome, but for something funny, and great laugh.

I brought something simple, a headset worth RM18 exactly. Haha. Didn’t really think thoroughly about what’s funny and lame. There’s people giving toothpaste worth of RM18, a pot of flower worth of RM18, hanger worth of RM18, hammer worth of RM18 and they are really lame.

Best gift that night was a RM100 cash, but only a person got it. In the mean time, I get to talk with my old primary school friends and high school friends who were there too!

    KTV.

Anthony really has so many student and it made me felt old that night because most of who were present are younger than me. OMG. Haha.

    Primary and high school friends.

    Airplane in a home.

    Garden in a home.

Talk talk, play play, watch watch TV and that’s the entertainment of the night. =)

    Happy New Year! =)

  • MSID 5Belas Interior Design Student Saturday at Taylor’s University

MSID 5Belas Interior Design Student Saturday at Taylor’s University

Yo people, this is kinda belated post where this happened last month. I have been lazy, sleepy and blablabla reason, but guess you guys don’t wanna hear my crap. Haha. So I’ll talk about MSID 5Belas Interior Design Student’s Saturday OK? =0

So as you know I am a Interior Design student right now at Taylor’s University, just done one semester there and I am so grateful that I got a chance to join the MSID 5Belas ID Student’s Saturday, this is actually an annual event by MSID (Malaysia Society of Interior Designers) for the college and university to get-together, join competition, have fun and interact, and also make friends. This year, the host and organizing school is my school, Taylor’s University.

I am not part of any worker, some asked me to be the photographer, but I rather to be free and easy, I joined a competition at there and that’s Amazing Race.

It’s a Saturday and the whole thing starts as early as 9am until closing and prize giving ceremony at 12.30am. Yeah, it’s a long more than 12 hours event. Really tiring that day, but still a good experience for me. Many, many, many people were there and there were 15 participating institution. Got UCSI, UiTM Perak, UiTM Shah Alam, Saito College, Limkokwing, KBU, Alfa and I don’t remind already. Haha. I wonder why Penang’s Equator Academy of Art was not there and also the famous One Academy, why?

Morning was like opening ceremony, then some random workshop and afternoon was like competitions and at night also competition plus performance. Almost everything was competition.

Initially I wanted to join the short film and the theme was “BIOSPHERE”, but then I’ve lost my inspiration so I quit. OMG. Some ask me to join again this year. I’ll see. Hehe. What I like about that day was not participating in Amazing Race, I tell you the game sucks, but the fun thing was it’s ALL FREE. Haha. Free food, lousy a bit but I finally had a moneyless day in Kuala Lumpur.

I’ll list some competition here: Montage Design, Short Film, Sony Videologue, Banting Design, Residential Design, Commercial Design, Fashion Design, Amazing Race, Graffiti Art, Furniture Design, Lighting Design, Installation. Yeah, it’s all about design, sometimes I wonder what’s fashion design have to do with Interior Design, but afterall we are design student, we design almost everything. =D

Well, Amazing Race is something that you think it’s fun but it’s not! You actually turned out panting, gasping for extra air and want to rest more because it’s about running all the time. Marathon from place to place. It started with running here and there to look for a key to unlock the padlock for the next clue. After running to and flo for many times, the next stop was to the library to look for A book.

The book-looking was a easy task and after that we have to run off campus to a temple which is like 15-20 minutes walk away under the super hot sun to get the next clue. We should have drove there. Then we need to go to Sunway Pyramid which is not in a walking distance, so we took 2 cab as we have 8 members in our team. One thing, we were given RM50 per team for the game which is the fun part.

At Sunway Pyramid, we searched for the pickled cucumber, bought it and eat all of it. It tasted good at first but it got disgusting later. Though successfully finish it up.

Last task was to play the archery. Not easy as holding the bow with left hand because I am a righty. Need a lot of strength but still manage to aim and shoot. This was fun and should go and play some other time. Steady hand and sharp eyes are needed. Well, taxi back campus and pitstop. Started last, but ended team 10. Not bad already.

    The fu
nny part of the day was the Fashion Design competition. The day’s theme was BIOSPHERE, I have no idea what that mean until now. It’s something environment, recycle and green stuff. Looking at the model’s make up and the creativity of their designer, I felt halloween. Haha.

But I did see some simplicity and minimalist nice. However, since people more like into complicated stuff, an underwater zombie won that day.

Other highlights for the rest of the days was just taking look at some lighting design and enjoy the Talent Time performance at night. Each institution came up with their performing team and perform. Simple as that and we enjoy the show. Woo.

I don’t know why my school didn’t really get many prizes that day, was it because that we were the organizer or ? Hmm. We’ll see on the next MSID 16 this year. =D

Avira Anti Virus Software Launching at G City Club Hotel

Thanks to smashpOp, I got invited to Avira Anti Virus software launching at G City Club Hotel last weekend. It was my first time to attend event in Kuala Lumpur after I came here. Finally, I can check out something cool with everyone.

    P1010723

G City Club Hotel is somewhere on Jalan Tun Razak near to Ampang Park LRT station. I drove there because before that I went to check out something at Lowyat and Sungei Wang. Damn, I was stuck on Federal Highway in the afternoon for 1 hour and it really sucks. A lorry broke down. After that, everything went smoothly.

The event was in The Bridge Bar, on the highest floor of the hotel and it’s a lounge slash pub. A really very cool place and I was so glad that I invited to this special event at such a special place.

    Yamamoto from Avira. Really yeng.

I see people from the media and also from the blogosphere and also geeks.

    Hot hot.

There’s hot model to let you test on your photography skill. =D Nice nice.

  • Hennessy Artistry at QE2

    Hennessy Artistry at QE2

Many many weeks ago, I was invited to Hennessy Artistry at QE2. Thanks to Yong Xiang who referred me to Hennessy’s PR people. I was pretty excited because going to an inviting-based event and first time stomping into the clubbing scene. I am not a clubber, but I do go to club, just for fun and look around. Haha.

I asked along Alvin, Jin, Arron (via yiphing.net), Boo Teik and Chien Chern to go there too. It seems pretty interesting because it’s my first time going to such event and QE2. Have been living in Penang for so many years but it’s my first time going to QE2. It’s more likely a pub/restaurant/club, facing the sea.

Cool stuff is that we need not to queue up long like others who register through the website for pass. We’re bloggers and there’s special lane for us.

Though, looking at the list, I did not see many Penang bloggers at there. Where’s all the Penang bloggers?

Upon registration, we get a paper band as passes to go in. Red color are for media/blogger which can access VIP and media area.

Regarding my bald head, I just came out from National Service not long ago. Haha. And I was already partying.

It’s pretty high tech now. There’s a TV showing tweets of people who tweeted about the event, I tried to get mine on but it’s loading slow. Do follow my Twitter. =)

The upper level is for media/blogger/VIP. Though, hardly find any familiar faces there. I know too little people.

Best thing of the night was not the music, or dancing as there’s not any dance floor at there, it’s the Hennessy that rocks, mixing with different mixer, apple, lime, coke or just plain water. Apple and lime were good. =D And one thing, it’s free flow!

Because of free flow, early early at night already can see people down on the floor already. I am not a heavy drinker, I can’t drink much too. Don’t laugh me. Haha.

Basically, people just enjoy drinking that night, and a little big of music and rapping by Joe Flizzow, Sona One and Ad Bangers.

It’s so freaking crowded and happenings in there. Want to move around also hard and one thing, it’s pretty warm that night as it’s open air, facing the sea. Sea breeze was not enough to breeze us up too. Sweating.

There’s also a food corner where the chef make food with Hennessy VSOP, though we didn’t get a chance to try it because the queue and waiting was damn long. We were so not patience.

Met some familiar faces at last, Povy, Jane and Sze Sze.

The free flow ended some time and we decided to leave that place as nothing much to do at there already. We were there just to see see and not get drunk. So we went somewhere else.

Well, it’s kinda rocks and like it. If any of you PR people do need blogger to attend your event, contact me. =D Hahaha.
