  • Midnight At Taylor’s University Architectural Studio

Midnight At Taylor’s University Architectural Studio

I spent a few nights at the studio in my campus lately due to last minute work. Yeah yeah, I bet many of you also always do last minute work. Haha. It’s so last minute that I only get to go back and sleep for like an hour or 2 early in the morning, then go back in class, though the experience was fun, especially with a group of people, loud music in the silent campus and big studio room.

Building Construction’s project was the troublesome one which took so many of my precious energy and nights of sleep. Satisfaction reached, yet the quality not that good due to wrong method, but anyway, we learned the lesson.

I realised the good of Taylor’s University is that there’s place for people to use to do work. I and my team can’t be doing this at home because it will be very messy and we have to clean it ourselves, but in the studio, we can make it as messy it is, and someone will eventually come and clean it later.

To use the studio, we need to book it 3 days in advance, but then we didn’t. We just “borrowed” the room from our senior who booked it. The lousy thing about studio is that there’s no wifi service, which “Great, concentration” because that area is not covered in the hotspot and only one LAN connection port available.

However, the best part is the usage of projector and loud speaker. We played the music all night long.

Well, it would be great that there’s 24/7 cafe or food corner open in Taylor’s University, unfortunately, no. Though there’s plenty of vending machines around, yet they still doesn’t get on par with a plate of Maggi Goreng at the midnight mamak. Yes, we went out to hunt for food during our pauses.

I realised that the campus switch the air-conditioned to a warm temperature at a period of time in the midnight, as so it’s pretty warm sometimes. Luckily it was raining out there, which the rain drop accompanied us together with the music.

I actually brought a pillow, thinking that I would be sleeping in the studio and go to class in the morning, but I failed because I just couldn’t fall asleep, even how sleepy and tired I was. I just took a 5 minutes drive home and sleep. Even it’s just an hour of sleep, it’s still better than not sleeping.

Well, sometimes it’s funny when people just come to campus and that’s the time when I go back home. It’s almost sunrise, and I met a bunch of friends, came all the way from Sepang, 50km away to Taylor’s, early in the morning, to borrow the study room and read, before heading to breakfast. That’s the power and craziness of Penangites.

Well, don’t laugh. Bricks laying takes time. =D Not proud, but that’s the 2 sleepless night in studio.

  • The Big Apple’s Helium Balloon Is Down

The Big Apple’s Helium Balloon Is Down

Still remember the big helium balloon I showed in the iPad post? One fine midnight, I pulled it down and touched it and put it back up again. Haha.

Ok, how it happened was on one fine midnight when I was spending my night in campus to rush my assignment with Wesley, Steve, Jia Hui and others, we passed by the balloon place, then my itchy hand started pulling the rope that ties to the balloon. It was heavy a bit but it’s easy to be pulled.

Steve and Wesley helped to pull on the other side to balance it and in the end, we touched it for fun and let it go again. Haha. Very childish act, but fun, I like. =D

  • The Velvet Rabbit Musical On Easter’s Day

The Velvet Rabbit Musical On Easter’s Day

Very spontaneously, I went to see a musical in conjunction with last month’s Easter’s Day, many weeks back, last month, which happened to be in my campus, one of the lecture theaters. The musical drama is called The Velvet Rabbit by Harvest Generation Church.

How I actually came to this was that on the day before Easter, Arron called me and asked if I was in campus or not, I was not but then I was later because to met him up, they were going to see the musical actually and I just simply followed. That’s it, very spontaneous and unplanned.

Actually, this was my first time checking out a musical drama. Looking at their props, their live band background music, I think they are pretty cool, just that the singing off a bit, yet it’s entertaining. We can’t be expecting Broadways standard here anyhow.

So that afternoon, I went to find my Penang friend and high school mate Arron in my campus, they were studying, online and playing Monopoly Deal at the same time and I joined them. Since it’s a Saturday, I thought why should I stay in my room, moreover I have paid so much of resource fee for the school and so I have to use the resource and facilities to the max, money sucker Taylor’s University.

Well, the story is about a girl named Annie with a talking toy rabbit, ran away from home, met bad guys, and her dad dies, then the talking toy rabbit revive his dad, and lastly bad guy got caught and live happily ever after. =D

The end. Any nice musical drama coming soon? I come support support, provided it’s cheap, or FREE. The one I went was free by the way. Hehe.

  • Raining Cats And Dogs

    Raining Cats And Dogs

3 days ago was very hot, it’s hot during the day and night. Luckily I have air-conditioned in the room. Some sort of hot and warm wind blowing around this area, Penang and Kuala Lumpur.

2 days ago, finally, it rained. Rain brought water onto the earth, cooling all around, quenching thirst of the flowers and grass, greening the environment again.

Yesterday was thundering, though it only happened in Penang, not Kuala Lumpur. I am waiting for the rain to come, then I can make myself a reason not to go anywhere, and sleep whole day long, enjoying the sound of the rain drops, tik tak tik tak.

I think something is wrong with Mother Earth, tornado at USA, negative coldness at Melbourne, flood at Mississippi. What’s wrong? Doomsday? Yay, not.

  • Brought DID Friends To Penang’s Kuan Yin Temple

Brought DID Friends To Penang’s Kuan Yin Temple

Well, last week, my classmate of Diploma In Interior Design (DID) from all over the places (KL, Indonesia, Muar, Sandakan) came to visit my hometown, unfortunately I could hardly spend time with them because my brother came back from Singapore recently and most of my time spent was with my family, and want to apologize for that matter. =) Anyway, did meet up with them in the middle of the night and also the last day of their trip.

One of the place I brought them was to the UNESCO site, the famous Penang’s Kuan Yin Temple on Pitt Street, to pray and to see. It’d been some time I didn’t go to pray already, so it’s a good opportunity too.

Surprisingly, they were kinda excited and interested while visiting the temple. I thought they would thought that temple is boring and dirty and blablabla, but no.

Well, want to let you guys know that the Kuan Yin’s Temple on Pitt Street is one of the must visit in Penang because it’s listed in one of the UNESCO Heritage Building list, so it’s cool. =D

It’s very very very hot day though. But then it’s raining now in Penang! =D I always keep track of what’s happening back home. Yay.

    =) Birds.

Blah, another very random post. Going home in ten days time. Start to countdown now.

  • Pre-Birthday Ice Cream Cake For Wanyi – The Tall Girl

Pre-Birthday Ice Cream Cake For Wanyi – The Tall Girl

Wanyi, the tall girl which I always called because she is tall, tallest in class, taller than me, I am short, stop. =D She’s the only Penang friend in my class, the same hometown people had her birthday celebrated early, which supposed to be falls on 15th May. =D

We decided to get her an ice cream cake from my school’s Baskin Robbins and let her blow the candle after class on Thursday.

Then we ate the cake together. Yums. Most importantly is, happy birthday tall girl! =D

  • Past Few Days In Taylor’s And Bandar Sunway

Past Few Days In Taylor’s And Bandar Sunway

Yoyoyo guys, I am back, sorry for being MIA for about 2 weeks. I went back home to Penang last week and I am back to Bandar Sunway right now and the best part of all is I have done all the presentation needed in college! Say YAY! It had been many sleepless nights for me since last week, spending time till early morning in university and also in my room, slept for like couple of hours and was a zombie all the time.

    Back to PENANG!!!

The tiredness payoff, it’s fun, yet tiring. Though, it haven’t comes to an end yet because I still have 2 submission to go, though need less hands on because both of them are computer work and 2 paper of examination coming next week then after that I am free like a bird, for at least 2 months.

This week is supposed to be a study break holiday, somehow lecturer moved the presentation to this week and I don’t really get to spend time back in Penang. My coming back to college make me shock because stupid Taylor’s University closes the back gate again and I have to drive my car into uni to park somewhere 1km away. Really pissed me off, moreover the weather was so hot past few days.

Had two presentations lately. I think I don’t hate presentation because I want to be like Apple’s CEO, Steve Jobs who deliver awesomely great keynote. He is my idol and he is my role model. Yet, I still need to learn more, crap more, only then I can be like him. Steve Jobs rocks. Presentation subject was about L

eon Batistta Alberti, some Renaissance Italian architect. Haha. Not bad, learned something about him.

Next was I spent a lot of time in my little rented room, I have moved out of hostel by the way, for quite some times. Taylor’s University Hostel sucks to the max, don’t stay. Unlike lastly where I spent most of the midnight in campus, I didn’t for this week because I started off in my room so I want to end it in my room too.

Created a big mess in the room, super dirty, UHU glue, paper cutting, food, drinks everywhere but don’t worry, it’s clean now because it’s over!

Finally, I created a model, and of course, several orthographic drawings. Two more assignments to go! Wish me luck! Have a nice day friends. =)

  • Kimchi Fried Rice At B Station, Taylor’s University

Kimchi Fried Rice At B Station, Taylor’s University

More and more restaurants are popping up at Taylor’s University commercial area, the Syopz @ Boardwalk. Korean, Chinese, Japanese and recently an Italian restaurant, I wonder what’s next. Few days ago, I went to the Korean restaurant, B-Station to have my dinner.

Looking over the menu, I felt like eating kimchi and so I ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice (RM9,90) with added minced beef (RM2.00).

It comes with the kimchi vegetables, a soup and of course, the rice with a sunny egg.

Well as for the taste, I got to say I like it because I can taste the kimchi taste in the rice and can feel the little kimchi among the rice. The minced beef added some meat biting experience in the mouth, making it even better.

Unfortunately, the soup was not that nice, it’s a korean soup but served warm, not hot enough. Pricing wise, I think it should be less than RM10 instead of adding RM2 for the beef meat.

From what I have known, this restaurant is operate by real Korean and the chef is also a Korean. You guys can check out the place as it has nice interior.

  • Play iPad’s Tap Tap In IBS Class

Play iPad’s Tap Tap In IBS Class

Haha. I am posting photos taken during the Interior Behaviour Study class again. The class duration is like so long 4-hour straight nonstop and it is in the design studio. Loving design studio a lot! =D One day during the class while the lecturer was attending other group for tutorial, we played Tap Tap. I am still figuring how to download songs onto Tap Tap Revenge, any tutorial? =)

We were playing Lady Gaga Revenge for most of the time as it’s the only one that has multiplayer on my iPad. I don’t have songs in my Tap Tap Revenge though. Haha.

    =.=

The multiplayer that we played was not two person only, there’s like 6 person playing a single Tap Tap game because of six different fingers. =D

Then nothing much, went around to take photos, talk and wait for the tutorial from the lecturer.

And next week would be the last week for this semester, yet I have plenty of assignments to rush for! Due dates! Sleepless night! Coffee! Red Bull! OMG! Wish me luck and give me spiritual support. Haha.
