  • Thank You Lee Chong Wei

    Thank You Lee Chong Wei

Thank You Lee Chong Wei – I believe many of you were watching the Olympic Badminton Final together in your room, living room, outside with friends and anywhere. It’s sad and pity to see just two point slipped away. I believe some of you cried for him too.

I was watching with my housemate, it was really nervous and exciting. Watching the point being tied at most of the time was just so uneasy, it’s like riding on a roller coaster. Twitter was trending ‘DLCW’ ‘Don’t Let China Win’ ‘LCW4GOLD’, I join the talk with ‘Don’t Let China Win’, unfortunately, Lin Dan wins again.

No doubt LD is good, but Dato Lee Chong Wei is good as well! Perhaps, he is our Malaysian Pride. He is the one who unite the whole Malaysia to watch a badminton match. Although Negaraku cannot be heard, we still can see Malaysia flag rising into the air.

You did great, thank you Lee Chong Wei.

By the way, Lin Dan sucks. LOL. What a ‘kukujiao shithead’ with an arrogant face. Good night guys! Tomorrow sing k, woohoo!

Afternoon Lunch At Kim Gary With Friends

Afternoon Lunch At Kim Gary With Friends – Back to KL, different lifestyle back here, no more heritage seeing, cycling, sunset/sunrise searching and street food, life in the city is always shopping mall, driving, restaurants and that’s it. Different place, different style of life.

Afternoon Lunch At Kim Gary With Friends

So, Sunday went to where? Went to Ikea, went to eat Kim Gary at The Curve – the kidnap mall with friends from, err, everywhere, Connie from Sandakan? Henry from Johor Bahru? Arvin Medan, Indonesia? Only Laiquen, the only KL local. Haha.

Super crowded at Ikea and The Curve and spent almost half of our afternoon in Kim Gary Restaurant. It’d been ages since I’ve visited Kim Gary Restaurant. Last time I used to visit it all the time when I was in Penang, but now very seldom already.

After eating until so full, we went Ikea for a while. I think there’s more people shopping in Ikea than at Tesco at that time. I’m starting to get bored of Ikea already because I’ve been there for so many time and I know where is what and the price. Haha. Although it’s boring, I still bought stuff, some storage box and a Golden Gate Bridge poster (will share other time when my room is clean XD). Well, I am waiting for a new term of Ikea catalogue (2013), guess soon already?

Anyway, check out the food we had today, not reviewing, just some food p0rn for you. =)

  • Back To Big City – Kuala Lumpur

Back To Big City – Kuala Lumpur – 3 weeks of semester break has finally comes to an end. Life in Penang was so awesome with family and friends, as well as good food and good place and I just never felt enough with it. Well, life still has to go on, a new semester will be commencing next week and I have to get my mind back into the “interior design mode”. Lot’s of things are gonna be learned and work too.

Back to my little loft in Kuala Lumpur, to be exact – PJ. Hmm, this little small room is my entertainment, work, sleep place. I spent my whole night with cleaning up my room and watching Matrix Trilogy, and also Internet! So lazy to go out on the first night back here.

Anyway, gonna spend some time updating my blog this few days. =D Stay tuned. Good night everybodehhhh.

Ernest’s Mural At Chew Jetty – Boy On Boat

Ernest’s Mural At Chew Jetty – Boy On Boat – Went to Chew Jetty last week to check out the mural by Ernest Zacharevic which is about a boy with fishing rod on a sampan. I’m so outdated already because it had been there for like a month. Anyway, I still want to go check it out and capture photo because it’s cute.

Weather wasn’t that nice that day, it was hazy, humid and hot! Argh. I couldn’t spend a long time under the hot sun, it’s very uncomfortable as I was unprepared. Just went there spontaneously and did not expect the weather to be so hot.

Here’s Hueisean with the mural. It’s drawn on the wall of a homestay wooden house at Chew Jetty.

  • Famous Super Hokkien Mee Behind Penang Plaza

Famous Super Hokkien Mee Behind Penang Plaza – This Hokkien Prawn Mee is quite famous among Penangite as it’s often known for waiting long to be served and also sold out very early by 9am +++. Super Hokkien Mee is the name of the store, it’s just a gimmick telling you that it’s ‘SUPER’. Haha.

Located behind of Penang Plaza in a coffee shop called One Corner Cafe on Jalan Bawasah, Super Hokkien Mee started selling early in the morning for breakfast. I went there few days ago with my friends to check out how good it was. We ordered at 8.30am and were told that we have to wait until 9am. That’s fine for us.

Famous Super Hokkien Mee Behind Penang Plaza

Pricing was surprisingly higher at RM4.50 per bowl, just like KL-price. You know, you still can find RM2.50/bowl of Hokkien Prawn Noodle at Cecil Street Market. How about the taste? The soup does indeed taste sweeter with a strong aroma of prawn, probably cooked with lots of prawn shell. Tiny prawn slices can be seen in the soup and unfortunately, boiled egg was not present in the soup.

Overall, it tastes good, but somehow might lazy to wait and wake up early for it again. XD Will try another one that sells out early at Pulau Tikus soon.

    12, Jalan Bawasah,
    10050 George Town, Penang.

    Closes on Tuesday.

  • Australian Kangaroo Jerky (Bakgua) Sucks

    Australian Kangaroo Jerky (Bakgua) Sucks

Australian Kangaroo Jerky (Bakkua) Sucks – My friend Yiphing brought some Australian Kangaroo Jerky (Bakkwa/Bakgua) for me to try yesterday. Only then I know that the Australian makes bakgua (dried meat) too, but using the Kangaroo meat. Ewwww. Kangaroo is so cute, how can it be eaten?

That’s not the main problem actually, the main thing is the taste sucks! It’s just not tasty, and has the kind of weird taste, kangaroo taste? It’s like the weird taste of lamb, but the it’s so much stronger in the mouth. I couldn’t finish it and spitted it out. Asian’s bakgua jerky is still the best.

Do Project Until Party In Taylor's University Studio

Do Project Until Party In Taylor’s University Studio – As the title said, we was working on a design project in the school’s studio, then it turned up to be a mini pizza party. Haha. It was 3 weeks ago where I was working on a Architecture History project with my teammate – Steve, Wesley, Jia Hui and Arvin from early morning until night.

Do Project Until Party In Taylor's University Studio

You know, when you are working on the same thing for a long period of time, your mind will tend to become slow or stunned. It’s at some point that work productivity rate is so low that you can think of anything or proceed.

Do Project Until Party In Taylor's University Studio

That time was dinner time and we ordered Pizza Hut Delivery as we were lazy to go out to buy food. It’s weekend and there’s not much food choices in the campus. It took me quite some times to successfully ordered my delivery online as now only I know that Pizza Hut Delivery is the new thing, it’s different from the old 1300-88-2525. The menu is different from dine-in too.

Do Project Until Party In Taylor's University Studio

As we went to collect the pizza, we saw unwanted balloon from an event that has just ended. Instead of disposing, we just took it back to studio to add in some party feel for us to S.S. (Shiok Sendiri).

4 regular pizzas, 25 slices, 5 people, we finished it in less than 20 minutes. We were just too hungry. It was crazy, fun, but we completed our work after that.

One more week of holiday to go! It’s so short and not enough for me. Arghh.

  • (Almost) Sunset: Shore In Front Of E&O Hotel

(Almost) Sunset: Shore In Front Of E&O Hotel

(Almost) Sunset: Shore In Front Of E&O Hotel – I just found another way that can have a good view of sunset in George Town. It’s introduced by my brother and the location is by the shore in front of E&O (Eastern & Oriental) Hotel or Penang Bowl. Some other popular sunset spot in Penang are Balik Pulau, Batu Ferringhi & Permatang Damar Laut.

Although you can’t really see the sun set into the horizon of the vast sea, but you can frame in a good view of Gurney Drive & Tanjung Tokong with Penang Hill in background.

Penang Port, sad that it’s sold to Tanjung Pelepas Port to serve as feeder port.

    Straits Quay, Tanjung Pinang.

I parked my car at E&O Mult-story Carpark and went to shoot a while at about 7pm. It’s still early so the sun was still up above the sky. However, it’s does indeed looks nice.

Fishing activities going on at there.

Well, Penang looks good, isn’t it?

  • Brother’s Commencement @ NUS University Cultural Centre

Brother’s Commencement @ NUS University Cultural Centre – My big brother is now a real big brother! He has finally graduated from National University Of Singapore as of 2012 and he is now a truely professional working adult. I am so proud of him. It had been so many years that he went for studies in Singapore, more than 10 years already and time flies. I still remembered when I was still a little kid, following parents and him to Singapore for the first time long time ago.

Singapore, is now not stranger to us. I have visited Singapore for more than 10 times and it’s another familiar place to me. I went to his graduation ceremony few weeks back in one of the top university in Singapore and Asia – National University of Singapore. They called it Commencement (American-style) instead of convocation (British-style), it’s like a commencement to a new journey of life. Sounds cool. I was his personal photographer on that day, following him around to take photos of him with his friends.

At Universtiy Cultural Centre where the ceremony took place, it’s a sea of graduates in academical regalia, it invokes a feeling in me to study hard to wear on one in the future. Diploma is not enough for me, I shall go on to Honours Degree. =) Being knowledgeable and smart is just so cool!

Brother and his girlfriend from the same school and course.

Few more years for my turn but for now, study hard, live hard. Congratulates to my brother, Yikhung. =)

Lunch @ Midland Kitchen, Campbell Street

Lunch @ Midland Kitchen, Campbell Street – Life back in Penang Island is really awesome, food exploration is never ending and eating is the main culture here. Penang is truely a food heaven. I just love spending time at my hometown, air is fresher, life is more relaxing and healthier here.

Recently, I went to check out a new Chinese restaurant in the core of George Town @ Campbell Street – Midland Kitchen. If you know about the Midland Restaurant at Midland Park, then you might get some idea of the food serves. It’s opened by the same person who operated Midland Restaurant.

Lunch @ Midland Kitchen, Campbell Street

Located in one of the eclectic styles colonial-style shophouse on Campbell Street, it blends a fusion design in the interiors. The setting is more towards a modern contemporary design, providing a new dining experience in town. What’s special is that this shophouse has 3 levels.

Each floor provide different dining style, the first floor is more towards intimacy dining and there’s a mini bar and the 2nd floor is a private group dining area. It’s pretty cool. Decoration is a bit simple, but the use of furniture makes it cool.

Lunch @ Midland Kitchen, Campbell Street

Now food time! Well, I don’t really know how to describe food but I’ll just make a it short and sweet about the dishes that we have orderd for lunch. First up, Minced Meat Toufu – mild-salty, soft and smooth toufu, taste good.

Lunch @ Midland Kitchen, Campbell Street

Fuyong Omelet was just nice only, not too good compare the one I had before in KL.

Lunch @ Midland Kitchen, Campbell Street

Lor Han Vegetarian Dish – not my type dish. My said it was good.

Lunch @ Midland Kitchen, Campbell Street

The last dish was not really a good one – Steamed Chicken With Chinese Wine, it’s not good because the chicken was too hard, not tender enough.

Anyway, will try some other dishes next time on my next visit. It’s not really awesome, but I’ll give it another opportunity. =D. As for Chinese restaurant, I prefer Tek Sen Restaurant, that’s really suit my taste bud.
