    ROM: Steve + Lihong

ROM: Steve + Lihong – So many sad things happened lately, assignments, haze, blackout505, Penang freaking storm that kills, Penang Bridge accident and more. But let’s not talk about the sad thing and share some happy stuff with you. Well, my classmate, Steve has got married with his wife Lihong! Oh, congratulation and it’s not what you think it is. Hahaha. But I am very happy that they get to be together officially, and sweetly.
I was there at his marriage registration at Thean Hou Gong Temple, which indirectly brings me to a visit of this famous temple. Is the temple nice? Sorry, Kek Lok Si in Penang is so much better than that. HAHA.
Marriage registration thingy was pretty fast, and it’s simpler than I thought. I thought it’s something very complicated, but it’s just signing a few papers, read the vow, say ‘I Do’ and done. The rest of the time was just waiting and taking photograph.
It’s just another happy thing in life, if you ask me about marriage thingy? Well, I just feel that it’s still so far away from me, I want to get settle down in a place first, get indulged in a nice career, earn the first pile of gold, get a house, then, this is it. Haha.
Anyway, congratulation to Steve and Lihong. By the way, what is the ideal age to get married for you? =D
  • Klang Valley: Western-Style Breakfast At Antipodean, Bangsar

Klang Valley: Western-Style Breakfast At Antipodean, Bangsar

Klang Valley: Western-Style Breakfast At Antipodean, Bangsar – If you are looking for some western-style big breakfast set, or some croissant with scrambled egg, french toast and more, then Antipodean Cafe at Bangsar is the place for you. Some say it’s very good, some has gave me some unfavourable comment and how about me? Let’s check it out down below.
Antipodean Cafe is a well-established cafe in Jakarta and it came to Malaysia 2 years ago. Situating near the Bangsar Village Mall, the cafe gets really crowded during the weekends and it took about 20 minutes for us to get a seat inside during lunch time. The place is small and very cramp. Interestingly, there’s no menu, as in physical menu, it’s all written on the huge blackboard and pick it from there. Service was quite good actually as the staff was like keep updating us about the availability of seat when we were waiting out there.
    Mango Lassi was good!
    Big Breakfast.
So food! Big Breakfast, Croissant Scrambled Egg with Bacon & Vietnamese Fried Beef Noodle were what’s on our table that morning! The food presentation do look really good and the portion is quite big. Mine was the Big Breakfast but then it somehow seems ‘too-western’ for me because the scrambled egg was rather tasteless. The mushroom tasted special, something that I haven’t came across before, and I kinda like it.
Croissant With Scrambled Egg and Sausage.
    Vietnamese Beef Noodle.
Vietnamese Beef Noodle feels like char koay teow, but a sourish version. Quite interesting but not my type! Croissant was just croissant to me, you know, quite standard and the side dish like scrambled egg and sausage are just the same.
Well, I would just have to comment it’s something in between good and bad, might be I have an oriental taste bud, and it might be good for your western taste bud, perhaps?

  • Final Projects x Final Semester

    Final Projects x Final Semester

Final Projects x Final Semester – 4-5-6 weeks to go, I have no idea whether it’s four, five or six, but I am sure that six weeks is the max to go for my submission of everything for the final semester of my diploma in interior design, after that, I am all set to discover the journey of an interior designer.
As usual, during this time of every semester, I get busy, I do work all day long, I slack some times, I stress up and I am also confident that the final presentation will be a fun one. But! It’s tougher this one last time, the last is the last, there’s no take 2 for me, everything have to be the best (good at least); seeing others do better just added the stress into myself, but I take the challenge to improve and learn.
I can imagine what’s coming after the final submissions, but then I just don’t have the sweet time to do the imagination. Focus is what I needs, and perhaps a little more time out of my life. I can do it, I can do it well, I can do it best, NO, should be I must do it, I must do it well, I must do it best! Good luck, and all the best.
    Happy day to you all.
  • BBQ At Steve’s

    BBQ At Steve’s

BBQ At Steve’s – 5-6 weeks to go till the final presentation of this final semester of my diploma, then I’m officially an interior designer. With this much of assignment stress going on, I just hardly fork out a little time for leisure, I am getting anti-social and my friend is my keyboard, mouse, sketchbook and Artline. Somehow, in between this assignment-busy-ness, I and a few classmates managed to find a night to do some BBQ. At least, it takes away a night of thinking at the project. Yay!
Steve’s house was the host of the BBQ, a very small scale BBQ with lots of chicken wings, lots of sausages, fish balls (when I say lot, it’s really a lot), fish, corns, enoki mushroom and some cooked food. Very budget BBQ, as I said, very small scale BBQ, but pretty satisfying and full.
One more thing, it’d been 3 years in between this and my last BBQ! What a long time. Great! I want more!
  • Penang: Lighthouse Coffee, Bishop Street

    Penang: Lighthouse Coffee, Bishop Street

Penang: Lighthouse Coffee – Drinking a cup of aromatic coffee in the core of UNESCO World Heritage City of George Town, Penang, together with a small slice of cake just bring the relaxing experience to a greater level. Coffee shops are popping up here and there in this little city of George Town. The recent one that I have visited was Lighthouse Coffee, located in Logan Heritage by Bishop Street, it’s just off the famous Beach Street which is filled with colonial-styles building.
It is a very small cafe which serve coffee of course, a great variety of coffee and desserts cake. I am not a coffee addict, it’s just something to drink for relaxing and to freshen up the mind. So, I went to check around Foursquare and has got some recommendation which is the Mochaccino and tiramisu.
Well then, Mochaccino and a small slice of Tiramisu was accompanying me and Clarice in the hot sunny afternoon. The Mochaccino was good, the aroma of coffee beans and a little bit taste of chocolate did indeed brings pleasant stream through my taste buds and down my throat.
Tiramisu on the other hand blends well between the alcohol and the sweetness. Somehow, the texture was not spongy enough and I still prefer the one at China House. However, this is up to the level too for a good tiramisu. It’s just that it has a very small portion.
So, if you are craving for a coffee and a good quiet place for your afternoon, do check out Lighthouse Coffee.

  • Singapore: Momiji Japanese Buffet, Revenue House

Singapore: Momiji Japanese Buffet, Revenue House

Singapore: Momiji Japanese Buffet, Revenue House – On a after-work Friday evening, after fetching my brother from the CBD, he brought me and Clarice to the Revenue House at Novena for this Japanese buffet @ Momiji Japanese Buffet Restaurant for dinner. There’s nothing much special of having Japanese buffet in Singapore, it feels the same to me, except that the currency is in Sing dollar. Interestingly it’s located in a government building where it’s very quiet after work.
Comparing to Malaysia’s, it’s only S$36.80++/per pax, given that you earn in Singapore dollar, it’s pretty affordable comparing to at least RM80/per pax in Malaysia with the similar salary payroll, but in Ringgit.
Forget about the money talk. Let’s get into the restaurant for food. If you come early, in between 6.30pm to 7.30pm, you can get a free flow of Sapporo beer. I assume that they want to bloated your stomach with beer so you can’t consume much. HAHA.
Nevertheless, the buffet choices was pretty interesting, there’s a wide range of fresh raw sashimi which I only targeted the raw salmon and shrimp. Other than that, the teppanyaki and cook-on-the-spot section attracted me well, as well as the dinner special of snow crab and crayfish. Snow crab was really interesting with juicy and salty crab meat.
Desserts furthermore satisfied my sweet tooth with a few repeats of Haagen Dazs ice cream, and cakes.
Ended with a satisfied stomach, fulled, and a smile on the face. We then headed to Gardens By The Bay for a little night walk to ease the digestion.

  • Singapore: Universal Studios Singapore (again)

    Singapore: Universal Studios Singapore (again)

Singapore: Universal Studios Singapore (again) – A year and a half ago, I went to the Universal Studios Singapore, and last week, I went again, with my dear Clarice! Actually it’s kinda fun if were to compare with Genting Highland, of course the ticket price is a lot higher! I don’t mind, since I didn’t tried a few rides during my first visit – Transformer The Ride & Rapid Adventures, and it’d been a while since I go on a road trip with Clarice, so going to the USS again is fun, moreover, lunch, snack, and free parking are included in the MY Superdeal promotion for Malaysian-only.
Saturday, oh as expected there’s super big crowds in the theme park. Luckily the weather was not killing us but the the pay-off was the super long queue at several ride, like 110 minutes for Transformer The Ride and Rapid Adventure. Still the best rides to me are the Transformer & Battleship Galactica. Ride twice on both of them!
The queue at the park actually killed of our opportunity to see the show. Actually I have seen before, just that Clarice haven’t and it was kinda disappointing for her. The weekend-only fireworks was not so impressive after all, but at least it’s something new comparing to my last USS trip. HAHA. Blah, anyway, enjoyed and tired!
Super long queue at the Transformer.
    Hello Bumblebee.
Although it’s just 4D, 5D or what you may like to call it, but Transformer The Ride was just so awesome.
Free Char Siew Rice from Hollywood China Bistro.
Free Chicken Rice from Hollywood China Bistro.
On the way to Rapid Adventure, one hour + of waiting time!
Do not spend SG$3 on these poncho,  you only get wet, a bit. Money sucking. Bring your own is the best.
  • Singapore: Gardens By The Bay

    Singapore: Gardens By The Bay

Singapore: Gardens By The Bay – Finally, I get to visit the Gardens By The Bay in Singapore. I’ve wanted to go there already, but it was either too lazy or too tired to walk across the highway to reach there from Marina Bay Sands. This time was different cause it’s a road trip and I drove and parked directly in the garden (SG$0.02/minute for parking). =D
Super Trees are impressive, the idea, but they are too bald right now. Somehow the whole ‘Gardens By The Bay’ concept failed to impress me because it’s a concrete garden! There’s no green grass field and it’s more like Tree-less Gardens By The Bay to me. Imagine going there in the day time, hot die you I assure!
    SuperTree restaurant!
    Bald super tree.
    Clarice dear.
    Brother and me.
  • Singapore: CBD & Merlion Park

    Singapore: CBD & Merlion Park

Singapore: CBD & Merlion Park – For the first time, without the parents sitting beside or driving, I drove a Malaysian vehicle on the Singapore’s road, it was a road trip with my dear Clarice last weekend and it was a great one.
    Looking up from Battery Road.
In front of Bank of China while waiting for my brother to finish work.
Went into the Central Business District of Singapore Downtown Core to enjoy being flooded in the tall city and beautiful sky scrappers. The small city of Singapore is just so awesome that the road are so wide, clean and linear that I suddenly felt that Malaysia is like so far behind. Undeniable, Singapore’s city is world class.
Crossing the Esplanade Bridge. I parked my car at Esplanade Mall.
A visit to Merlion Park is a must if you are a first-timer. Although I have been there before, yet I do not want to miss the opportunity to visit there with Clarice and take photos together. =D Not to mention, it has a nice panaromic view of Singapore together with the famous Merlion statue. But be prepare to be annoyed but the huge number of tourists. XD
    This is good!
Top 10 ugliest building in the world. LOL.
I really admire the way the Singapore create tourist attractions and city planning, why they can, we cannot?! Blahh… I believe Penang has the opportunity,  but I am not sure about other city.
  • Visit To University Of Nottingham, Malaysia Campus

Visit To University Of Nottingham, Malaysia Campus

Visit To University Of Nottingham, Malaysia Campus – Went to an excursion to Kajang yesterday, to find a friend at University of Nottingham. A very nice and prestige UK university, but located in the middle of a rural green forest, very near to Broga Hill. I know it’s good for the student to concentrate on studies when the campus is located very far from the city, but I find the place quite rural and there’s nothing much around the town.
Anyway, the friend was Yiphing, she brought me around the campus to check it out. It’s quite cool and green, and a lot bigger than Taylor’s University (that I am in), as well as peaceful. It has a modern architecture campus building, similar to UTAR, but somehow, I just don’t like the location. I am more a city person. 😀 Did I mention it’s about an hour to the city centre?
    Working out.
Beautiful lake surround with nice greenery.
Western students really have life, enjoying fresh air and sun by the platform outside the room.
Very beautiful black campus accommodation. I like this.
