Walk Home From Gurney Plaza on Tuesday Afternoon

Went to Gurney Plaza to do some stuff yesterday and I did not drive, mom dropped me there and I walked home. Before I got my driving license, it was walking all the time to and fro. But after getting my driving license, I always drive there although it’s near. Haha.

    IMG_0517 by nicholaschan.

So it’s quite some time I didn’t walk home already and yesterday I took a walk and it’s, HOT!

The weather was hot yesterday but then I saw blue blue sky. So surprise to see blue sky at this time because skies are blue during December-January of the year. Love it a lot! Guess it’s time for me to pack up my camera gear to go out to shoot something.

    IMG_0518 by nicholaschan.

    IMG_0519 by nicholaschan.

Gurney Plaza was quiet yesterday, it’s always quiet on a working weekday and it’s not happenings. While walking home, I saw the sea was in a high tide, Gurney Drive is so pretty during high tides because there’s no fugly mud shore. I so wish that it could be always high tide so no more ugly shore.

    IMG_0520 by nicholaschan.

    IMG_0521 by nicholaschan.

No idea why they make the bus stop so pretty whereas there’s no bus passing this place.

    IMG_0522 by nicholaschan.

Gurney Drive was quiet too and hot. I was sweating all the way and trying to shade my self with my hand while walking home.

Ok, good night for now. Not going to show you where my place is. Haha. It’s 2am while I’m writing this.

At 10pm of the Foyi’s Children Camp, second day, after the night performance, everyone felt relieved and happy. Me too because finally my team’s performance was over. Parents went home and it’s us and the cute kids again. So it’s photo session of the that time. I went around with my camera and take photos with everyone.

I took the Aeroline bus from Penang down to Kuala Lumpur, the bus is not like typical intercity express bus, but it’s something more luxurious with food and drinks served just like in an airplane, except there’s 4 wheels. LOL.

They have different menu for different time, I heard there’s nasi lemak, fried bee hoon, chicken rice and also Subway sandwich. As for my time, I took the morning bus at 1030am, they served me Chicken Rice. It’s warm and surprisingly the chicken was not bad, except for the rice, doesn’t taste like chicken rice to me. The gravy was nice when eating with the rice and chicken.

Food on-the-bus was not bad. Haha

    IMG_0535 by nicholaschan

Didn’t feel like eating rice and wanted to eat some hawker food so I went to Pulau Tikus Market hawker stalls to scope for some hawker food. Same again, 6 weeks I never go to hawker stall already but my parents did buy me hawker food during Sunday visit for National Service (PLKN).

At first I was thinking to eat Wan Tan Mee, but somehow this big Hokkien Mee signboard on the stall caught my attention and I was thinking “Hmm. When does a Hokkien Mee stall appear here?” Because there wasn’t a Hokkien Mee stall there and it was far far away at the end of the market. Could this be a new one?

I can’t resist myself to order a bowl to try it. I ordered instant noodle typed, there’s egg, little bit of vegetable, a little bit of meat and very tiny prawn. My verdict is, not good enough. Somehow, I still like the one at Lebuh Presgrave. I’ll show you guys next time. =)

Away to PLKN (Day 48): Cute Performance Night of Foyi Children Camp 2009

    IMG_9816 by nicholaschan.

Here comes the performance night during the 2009 Foyi Children Camp. I was very tired, nervous and excited because I was in charge in leading the dance for my team. I choreographed quite a few part of the whole dance, also need to thank Jin Sheng, Crystal and Kitsuki Yeoh for the help.

The theme that my team chose was to promote a thing called towel. Haha.

    IMG_9818 by nicholaschan.

Night falls, all the children campers were required to gather at the main hall and parents of the children flocks in.

We have our lovely Kok as one of the judge for the night. He is big. Everyone was so excited for it and very ready. Me too, nervous.

LOL.

  • Away to PLKN (Day 47): Foyi Children Camp 2009

Away to PLKN (Day 47): Foyi Children Camp 2009

This is a very late post, I didn’t think of posting it up but since I am in NS right now, I’ll share something up on my blog. On last December, 2009, I attended 3D2N children camp organized by Foyi, a Buddhist society. The camp is also Buddhism-related. Foyi collaborated with Leo Club of Chung Ling High School to make this camp and it’s already 11th camp already.

I was there too in 2008.

    IMG_9703 by nicholaschan.

    IMG_9713 by nicholaschan.

Actually I didn’t sign up as helper or in their committee. I went there voluntary, it happened on the weekend before last SPM paper, Chinese. I was playful and didn’t want to spent so much time reading and by that time, I already didn’t have much feel for reading already, so I went to check out their camp, volunteer help for them. Haha. Is that the reason of me getting C for Chinese? I don’t think so. LOL

Since I didn’t tell them I would be there, they didn’t expect me to come and help, and so there’s no name tag and cert for me. But that’s OK, I made myself a tag at there with marker pen and I gave myself a post as 校长, Principal. LOL. It’s just for fun but I was in one of the group too, as helper, caretaker, teacher, taking care of the kids. The year before, I was MC, so I didn’t join in much fun with the group, but I decided to have a change this year. They did ask me to be MC again, but I rejected, because I’ve no feel for it and I couldn’t be there all the time.

    IMG_9718 by nicholaschan.

    IMG_9719 by nicholaschan.
    All wet!

    IMG_9721 by nicholaschan.
    Cute cute.

I went there morning and went home at night. I didn’t overnight at there. There’s only 2 Form 5 people, me and Min Xiang, others were just preparing for SPM Chinese paper I guess. They had a lot of fun games, learning, performances, talks and many many thing.

First day, I didn’t stay long. I only really start helping out on the second day, helping Crystal, Jin Sheng and Kitsuki Yeoh, my team’s other helpers. =D

When I arrived on the second days, they had already started playing games. Games was a little bit same as the year before, but there’s something different too. Most interesting was still splashing water to each other. I have no idea why children/youth camp love water so much.

    IMG_9757 by nicholaschan.
    Kenny!

What they did on the second day is playing games and preparing for night’s performance. There’s a performance show at night and parents of kids were invited to come see. We had to prepare either a dance or a sketch to promote so
mething, an item, then will let people to guess what we were promoting. It’s like making an advertisement.

As for my group, we did a dance to promote towel and I choreographed part of the dance. Since then, I only knew that dancing and choreographing is so hard.

    IMG_9763 by nicholaschan.

    IMG_9764 by nicholaschan.

Another show for the night was fashion show which was about making something cool out of newspaper. Some of the helpers had already prepared water color and blings blings for it. I only knew about it that afternoon, if I had knew it earlier, I would brought more thing for my team. =D

    IMG_9767 by nicholaschan.
    Handsome kid, look like Korean.

    IMG_9773 by nicholaschan.

Everyone was busy that afternoon. I was choreographing the dance in a short time. Fun and tired! One things, all meals for the 3 days were vegetarian! Not bad also I would say. ^^

PLKN Experience: MacBook Pro and Photo Booth In Camp

On a lovely 3rd Sunday of Kumpulan 2, Siri 7, 2010 in Kem PLKN White Resort, Balik Pulau, two guys who were already gone came back to the camp. Balbinder Singh and Eu Chuen.

It’s a Sunday and as usual, I would be in the hall (they called it Dewan Rajawali) from morning until afternoon. I love being in the hall on Sunday because it’s family visiting day and my parents would come and visit me, bring food, bring laptop and camera for me to play with. I don’t like to stay inside the dorm and sleep, it’s Sunday, I need some fresh air and bright light. Dorm is dull.

    250420102725 by nicholaschan

It’s still early that day, around 930am, I was just preparing myself to go the hall to check out who’s family or friends were there. I am weird, I like to see who came to visit them. Haha. As for my parents, they would probably come around noon time. It’s kinda surprise to see Singh and Eu Chuen came back to the camp a week after they had left. They made deferment because they were going to college, and they came back on a surprise visit. Nice!

    250420102723 by nicholaschan
    Eu Chuen, Izzi and Khang.

Now only I know that there’s an Apple fan in camp and quite a geek too. Eu Chuen brought along his gadget, the MacBook Pro, planning to online at there but somehow the WIFI couldn’t work on that day. So I played a little with my favourite Mac app, Photo Booth. Hehe. Feel a little bit sad for Chuen because he bought his MacBook Pro few weeks before NS and the new revision came out a few week after NS. Apple really release stuff on a surprise. Still, it’s cool. I want one too!

Singh, a mixed of Chinese and Singh came all the way from Taiping and was staying at Eu Chuen’s place. Chuen brought him to camp and they stayed until afternoon.

People usually buy these so-called economy char bee hoon in the morning, mostly at the market, it’s as cheap as RM1 or perhaps lesser. Recently, dad found a place where sell it at night. It’s at the junction of Lebuh Tye Sin (四条路 a.k.a. 4th Road) and Jalan C.Y. Choy. Actually it’s there for quite a long time already and we just found it out.
