Wan Tan Mee at Jalan Sekolah La Salle

Hello guys, is me again GenYong here! When you drive through the Air Itam road from Chung Ling High School to town, I am sure you will pass by Shang Wu Primary School. Outside of the school there are some hawker stalls serving their dishes in afternoon. Have you try it before?

I tried the Wan Tan Mee at there before. It is cheap but tasty! The plate of Wan Tan Mee is quite big and really taste good for me. Usually people crowded when tea time and lunch time too. I am not sure about is there selling at night.

The price for one plate of Wan Tan Mee is quite reasonable and there are many ingredients inside the plate of Wan Tan Mee. So if you got drop by there you can go and take a try. Besides Wan Tan Mee, there are also some hawker food served, take your choice! Location is outside Shang Wu Primary School which next to Heong Giam Si Temple.

Away to PLKN (Day 43): Pai Ti Kong, Pray Sky God At Weld Quay

It’s the yearly Pai Ti Kong festival again, but this happened like in February. Long time ago already, sorry but nevermind, I am posting my photos up again. This is 3rd years going to Weld Quay to take photos. Every year also go there, won’t boring one meh? I feel not.

I think it’s fun with many people around, fireworks and friends, but I don’t like to take photo of the same thing again. Very boring and I feel stress as I’ve no idea what to shoot. I always try my best to shoot the best thing, the best shot to share with you guys and here are they.

So during the ninth day of Chinese New Year, I went there with Alvin, Kooi Jin, Min Xiang and Kok Sheng to shoot photos. Very fun because there’s friend. Last two years, there’s mama, papa and me only.

Photographers and DSLR users are getting more and more. So many people go there, arming with a DSLR, shoot here and shoot there. I didn’t want to join them again because I’ve went there before. I brought tripod for the first time so I tried slow shutter that day.

One thing, I am still not good at flash. I still prefer natural lighting.

Now Miku also got LED, very high tech already.

At first, there’s me only. Later then found Kooi Jin, Alvin, Min Xiang and Kok Sheng. Kooi Jin, my junior had became my assistant and helped me carrying my tripod because he wanted me to fetch him home. Haha, but thank you a lot.

This year was different a bit for me, because I went there on my own, I could stay longer and shoot anything I want, I even go further intor Chew Jetty where I did not last time. Interesting!

The wooden house on the water are so cool, there’s people staying at there and some houses were open for visit at that time. Pretty nice man.

It’s people mountain people sea, that’s a Chinese idiom saying people here and there, very happenings, very crowded. Want to move around also hard.

I waited for fireworks, then I waited for the arrival of beloved Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

I went to close to CM Lim Guan Eng just to take photos of him. He is favourite of everyone. Everyone like him here in Penang. Yeah! Rocks. He came to give some speech, lou sang and go away already. This is what they call, give face.

FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010 is getting so so so closer, counting down still got 33 days. Are you ready for it? I am so supporting England for now, don’t know why, no idea, the feeling, the support. Woo. The world cup is heating up, I can feel the heat here in Malaysia, everywhere. Shopping mall got world cup discount somemore.

Away to PLKN (Day 42): After Getting SPM 09 Result

On the SPM 09 Result Day, it’s a very hot weather, I sweat like hell and I felt sticky but somehow I didn’t go home to change, yucks. It’s because everyone didn’t do so, so I also lazy went home. After some air-conditioned blowing, it’s not as yucky as before already. Haha

So after getting the result in school, we went to Harvest In to had our lunch. I intro them to this place because it’s cheap, AC-ed and nice place. Just a little bad on finding place for parking. There’s 10 of us at the lunch.

Then we went to Gurney Plaza for a walk. Actually we didn’t know go there to do what. I didn’t want to go to KTV because I knew on the night, we were going to KTV already. So we skipped Red Box in the afternoon.

We just walked around the place and talk crap and jokes all along. Met friends, then take photos. Then we went for a movie at the cinema, it’s Green Zone and Matt Damon rocks. Always love his movie and director, Paul Greengrass rocks, who directed Bourne Ultimatum and Bourne Supremacy before, my all-time favourite movie.

======WORLD CUP FEVER======

2010 Fifa World Cup is coming and I am so excited about it. Frankly speaking, I am not a football fan but when it comes to big game like EURO or World Cup, I am super into it because I want to join the fun with all the football fans do.

So in this coming World Cup, who do I support the most? It’s England! [ADV] So cute that Celcom have bears (they called it the Celcom Blue Bears) representing each country, like my favourite team is called Englbear. =D

Away to PLKN (Day 41): Lion Dance at Tiger CNY Miao Hui

I got a little bit crazy already and is bad at managing my content. Suddenly I jump out a post about the Miao Hui that happened during Chinese New Year in February, a long time ago. Do you mind or not? Mind also I have to post it up already, who call me to be in NS right now and I’ve no content to write. WTF.

Anyway, let’s cut the crap and going into something interesting. So this year’s Miao Hui was unlike last year, this year, I sat down with Alvin at the Lion Dance area to see the Lion Dance show from start to end. I didn’t know why last time didn’t go check it out.

It seems like very interesting because there’s so many people standing by to wait for the performance. Alvin is a fan of Lion Dance, me is not. We got a good spot in front of everyone, most photographers like us where there too!

Something wrong with the schedule that day. It’s 15 minutes behind schedule, only then it started.

They were great, they can jump up and down so steadily without any mistake. I wish I could too!

Some Chinese said touching the Lion head bring good luck and prosperity. After the dance, the Lion heads were placed on the ground and everyone went to touch it. Me too! Good luck for me. Haha.

Away to PLKN (Day 40): Amanda’s Sweet 16 Birthday

On this lovely 29th January 2010, cool blogger Missyanda invited me and my friends to join her sweet sixteen birthday party at Coffee Island. It’s really interesting because there’s many many people and many many nice food! My MAGNIFICENT group were there too, and also the Leo Club friends, Plurk friends. I like!

Coffee Island is a cafe on Gurney Drive somewhere near my place. The party started at around 8pm. It’s not really big party, it’s like invite everyone and come and eat together. Since it’s sweet sixteen, it must be many people right.

Away to PLKN (Day 39): 5SA1 Gathering and Farewell For My NS

Seems like among the peeps that attend the gathering, it’s only me that go to NS. I requested for a gathering and a farewell for me before going to NS on 25 March 2010. Because Ee Teng who went to Singapore came back too, we had the 5SA1 class of 2009 of Chung Ling High School gathering at Jin Jie’s house.

Although not everyone can attend, I am still happy there’s still people around. You know, after high school, everyone busy with their own things and very hard to get together. Got 10 person can consider many already.

We first gathered at Jin Jie’s house to wait everyone to arrive. Then we walked to the coffee house to had our dinner. After that walked to another coffee house to eat Chinese desserts. Yummy!

Away to PLKN (Day 37): Pre-Birthday Karaoke for Alvin’s 18th Birthday

This happened on the today of two months ago, 3 March 2010. =D Since I am NS right now, I have plenty of time to post it up, sorry for all the outdated post. Hopefully after NS, everything will get back on track.

So on this day, of two months ago, it’s Alvin Yang‘s birthday eve, we went to Red Box for karaoke. He’s my buddy that I’ve known him for like 5 years in high school already.

Early morning, I went out for breakfast with the usual breakfast people, Arron, Chien Chern, Yiphing and Chaiwei.

It’s Old Town Kopitiam at Penang Times Square. No idea why choose there, but then Old Town is not my favourite place already. I don’t really go there so often as before, eventually it’s always not in my eating list. I feel sad for Penang Times Square because there’s so many coffee house and restaurant, but still very quiet? I was there too early?

Then in the afternoon, we went to Red Box karaoke, my favourite hang out place. ^^ At first, there’s me, Arron, Chien Chern, Yiphing, Zez Chien, Tee Jin and Chen Yuen. Alvin came in an hour late because he had class. Then Charles, Amanda, Joanne and Sher Reen came in to sit for a while only and take photos.

Actually it’s not really what big birthday celebration, because there’s no birthday cake. We treated Alvin the Red Box and wishes “happy birthday”, he didn’t sing much though, but me as usual, always sing a lot. Haha.

Away to PLKN (Day 33): Vain Group of Boys at New World Park

This is really vain of us. I went to attend my class 5SA1 gathering last year, somewhere in November, after the gathering we went to New World Park to meet some friends of 5SA4 and we’ve nothing to do and we went vain and take photos. OMG. Qi Jia’s idea. LOL

Away to PLKN (Day 32): Part 2 for 5SA1 Farewell and Gathering

It’s now come to part 2 of 5SA1 Farewell and Gathering. Here comes more photos and less words. I don’t know what to write already. Please forgive me. Haha.

So to talk about this in short, we had farewell and gathering on last year’s 31st October at Town Steamboat Restaurant. There’s 41 classmates attended and teachers which include Ms Chin Wee Kem and her husband, Ms Tan Lon Eng, Ms Kang Kul Lee, Ms Teh Phaik Keow, Mrs Goh and Mr Ong Chin Hua.

We love taking photos with Jing Xiang. Why Miss Kang face like that?

The photo session was like never ending, we kept taking from start to the end of steamboat. Everyone was addicted to my camera. Seems like there’s only one camera appearing at there, no one want to take photos, and I had become the photo man and the 400D had become the official camera for the event. LOL.

At first, it’s only Ms Chin’s husband drink tea, Beng Tian and Young Hean then join in with him to drink together, then in the end, everyone went to drink tea with Ms Chin’s husband. Haha.
