Visited Chew Jetty Spontaneously with Yiphing

That day, I’ve forgotten which day it was. I went to Prangin Mall to print out my photo, then met up with Yiphing who was on NS holiday. Then while waiting for my photo to be printed out, we went somewhere else to let the time passed. I actually didn’t have the idea of where to go and suddenly, spontaneously thought of checking out Chew Jetty for fun.

I was not ready for it yet, so it’s actually a fun trip and I bet I will go back there again for a real trip which I take lots of photos at there. Waiting for a blue sky which is the green light for me to go there, and also a bunch of crazy friends. =D

Chew Jetty is a place/water house/livings/tourist place at Weld Quay, Penang. Every year, the famous Pai Ti Kong festival is celebrated at there.

I actually wanted to check out this place, pre-look around before bringing my NS friend to this place to see see. But somehow, the Penang trip that I had with them recently did not include this, the girls insisted to go to shopping instead.

I went here before, almost I came here every year but it was during the night, during the Pai Ti Kong festival. It’s my first time going during daylight, not very sunny on that day, a little bit cloudy and it was late afternoon.

The place was pretty quiet. There’s a little tourist touring the place and photographers taking photos at there. Not many residents around too, perhaps they’re still at work.

The place is peaceful, I wonder is any unit at there up for sale, so I can buy it in the future, and revamp it into the most beautiful home on the sea at that area, haha.

Sea water at there is dirty though. Sea water by the shore of Penang is always dirty, it’s not close to big ocean, and so much of development around the city, there’s no turquoise clear water.

Nice place. Everyday can get a good view of Penang and I wanna park a yacht here. Haha.

If you are a tourist, you can check out the Homestay at there. There’s a house with rooms for rent, include breakfast too. Pretty cool. Perhaps I can go there with friends some times. =D Try a bit of the life at there for a day or two. See some sunrise and sunset. Shiok!

I Like “Bole Chudiyan” The Famous Bollywood Song

I get to know about this song “Bole Chudiyan” from the Indian friends in national service that I went 3 months ago. They Indian people in the camp always perform with this music. This song is a song from the Bollywood film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. =D No idea what’s the movie is but have to say I love this song. I want to learn the dance too! Hahaha, who can teach me?

Today woke up with this song playing in my mind and I faster go text the Indian friend and ask them for the name of the song and Youtube it!

Finally the FIFA World Cup has started. I am so excited about all matches. South Korea very powerful last night, WOW. Although England was draw with USA, but still all my heart still supporting England all the way till the end! Yeah man. I just come back from a trip recently, so had miss some matches live on TV, I only check the result standing and news in the morning. Now I am back, I get to catch it live on TV already, somemore in high definition. Damn fun man!

Quick Dropby at Eng Chuan Tong Tan Kongsi (Tan Clan House)

One day, I was driving, on the way to Beach Street from Prangin Mall, then I simply turned into a street, no idea where it was, some where on Beach Street I guess, then I looked around and accidentally found the Tan Clan House & Temple also known as Tan Kongsi to the local.

Alright, Tan is a Chinese surname, Tan is known to Hokkien people and my surname Chan is known to Cantonese people and we share the same ancestor thousands of years ago I believe. Tan, Chan, Chen, it’s all the same.

Found a parking space and parked the car. Then I went down to look around for fun because I’ve never been there before and it’s my first time knowing this place. The temple was close and I guess I may find names of my ancestor who first came to Penang many many years back.

This place is small compare to Khoo Kongsi, this can said that the Khoo has more families. This kongsi-kongsi was where all the people of the same surname live together when they first arrive in Penang island. Later then when the island is modernized, everyone spreaded out.

Pretty cool. Gonna go here again when it’s open.

Away to PLKN (Day 72): Last Meet Up Before NS

This happened on the day before I come into this camp. Chin Lai actually invited us again for farewell but turned up there’s only me, Arron, Chin Lai himself, Charles and Amanda only. But nevermind, meet up is fun and I like!

I was super duper busy on the day before of NS, busy packing, busy preparing and busy writing. Super busy. I worked until midnight only get to sleep.

So on this day, I went to Gurney Plaza to meet them and ate my lunch at Kim Gary. Then Jocelyn from first batch came to meet me too and I returned her the DVD that borrowed from her.

We talked about NS again and other thing then walk around. Charles them actually wanted to go for movie but after checking out all the time, it’s not suitable, so skipped movie.

Ali Mamak Stall at Pulau Tikus

I am a fan of Abu Mamak Stall that’s located on Jalan Dato Koyah, somewhere turn in when you see Kayu on Penang Rd. Nightlife people might know about this place already and I love their Fried Maggi Mee a lot. Best. And recently, after posting a live post on awayfromcomputer.com, a reader intro me another mamak stall called Ali, but it’s not in town, it’s close to Pulau Tikus area right opposite PTPL college.

The stall is on the road side of a small lane, with tables and chairs placed on the pavement. I am not sure whether Ali or the owner opporate the stall legally or not. But seems so many people eat there, it’s not a problem already.

We didn’t know what’s famous. The Malay-Indian guy introduced us some food. There’s the susu lembu milo which literally is hot milk with Milo powder. It’s good because it’s hot and it’s RM2.20.

Then I ordered a Fried Maggi Mee, curious about how different is this with Abu’s. The serving look the same, in fact the egg is prettier and the chicken tasted different. The noodle has a garlic taste which Abu don’t have but I go for Abu’s. Why? Because Abu’s is cheaper, this one at Ali cost RM7.20! OMG. Expensive.

My friend ordered a Pattaya Fried Rice. As you know, Pattaya fried rice is a very standard thing, which is fried rice wrapped with egg. This is different because is fried by mamak and it tasted spicy to me and the rice is pretty dark, and wet. My friend say not nice, I felt quite not bad. Different people have different taste. If you like dark fried rice and spicy, this might be a good one for you.

Ali, went there before or not? Abu and Ali are so not related by the way.

Away to PLKN (Day 69): SPM 09 Celebration At Red KTV and Bistro

Really want to thank Ker Ying for introducing this place to me and I like it. It’s RED KTV and Bistro at Belissa Row. You sing, you drink and you play. It’s fun. Although you don’t get a room for yourself like at Red Box, but it’s still fun because you get to hear other people sing. Only sometimes, when there’s many people at RED, you will have to wait a little while longer only get to sing.

That night, after school, after Gurney Plaza, we went to RED to sing and drink, as a celebration for getting SPM result. My result was NOT-BAD only, so it’s not good yet but still I wanted to celebrate for getting the result and no more waiting. You know, waiting for the result is saddening and uncomfortable.

3 months of waiting, played a lot and felt slacking and lazy so much. Shit that I’ve forgotten stuff that I had learned in high school before. Gonna stop all the slacking and go back to school soon, but it will be in end of July, still got very the long time.

We also met a RED KTV fans, who asked us to join RED’s fans page in Facebook. Till now I still couldn’t find the page, anyone know?

Fun night we had at there. Just scream too much until no sound.

Broken Canon EF-S 55-250mm Lens Filter

I have my Canon EF-S 55-250mm lens kept in a Lowepro lens case. Today I wanted to take it out to breath some fresh air and surprisingly saw that something’s not right, the lens cap is stuck with the filter. I had to take it out by force.

After taking out, this is what I saw. The lens UV filter is broken now and luckily there’s a filter. No idea how this happened, maybe is knock on something. Gonna go get a new filter soon. Shit, it’s cheap, but I am broke.
