  • Being “Gung-Ho”!

    Being “Gung-Ho”!

Being “Gung-Ho”! – I’ve been totally hiatus for one month and the last time I was on this block was 6th November 2012. Well guys, I’m glad to say, I am alive, doing good, listening to some soft jazz music at this wee hour and feeling relax, chill and a little bit of sleepy.

#1. Midnight at studio, movie + work + laughter with the crazy friends from the senior class.
#2. When thing get stress up, it’s time to pump up some much, and put your hands up while you are sitting.
#3. Basically, this is one of my workspace, at 4am.
#5. I went home for like 5am everyday for almost a week. Sleep till the noon and get the work adrenalin pumping again. Somehow, productivity gets faster when due is coming up. Haha.

Life have been exciting and hectic before and my long 3 months and 2 weeks of holiday has just started. The past month was like a war, being “Gung-Ho” for my interior design project in university and it was to design an office. Well, it’s fun, lack of sleep, heart pounding fast every day as time shorten and got closer to the submission and final presentation. I was like spending 2 weeks at night in the campus too and my body timezone became GMT-8. =D I am kind of perfectionist, and that’s why, I stressed up my own-self. Not to the extend of 100% perfect, but at least 90%, perhaps.

Talking about “Gung-Ho”, it’s such a cute word that my friend Tee Jin in the UK commented on my Facebook wall. It got curious as the word doesn’t seems hokkien, or Mandarin to me, it does sounds Asian, but I’ve no idea what is it about. After some Googling around, it means — 1:Incredibly enthusiastic, zealous and dedicated // via UrbanDictionary. LOL. I still don’t really get it, a word borrowed from the Chinese by the U.S. Navy in the 1950s, and it somehow became a slang meaning of very enthusiastic. O.O. You may read more on Wikipedia.

#6. Study, legs up, that’s my way.

I am getting “Gung-Ho” of interior design of course, that’s the way life work isn’t it? Get interested, enthusiast in what you are doing, embrace it. Yeah.

So, let’s get this blog moving again and be “Gung-Ho” in what you are doing now.

  • Racing Against Time To Complete College Projects & Random Updates

Racing Against Time To Complete College Projects & Random Updates

Watching TVB and designing at the same time.

Racing Against Time To Complete College Projects & Random Updates – A little bit update about myself is that I am now racing against time because the end of semester is coming, which means that it’s final exam, final presentation, final project submissions and dues for many assignments. It’s pretty exciting for me because I am like sleeping less and less, trying to squeeze out as much extra time as possible to for me to complete in time.

    New IKEA chair – Fingal.

Some friend complained about ‘stress-lah’, stress this and that. Hmm. At this moment, I still feel nothing about it, still very OK with my work. Stress is something that force you to do something you don’t like, and that’s stress. So, enjoy you work, play with the time, accept a little of the dislike and soon it will be over.

Must sleep now as I slept for like 3.5 hours yesterday at 6am! Woooooo. Life of an interior design student.

    Some other random updates:

NAJIB, no it’s the car plate NAJ113 which arranged like the word – NAJIB. In case you do not know who is Najib, he’s our fat Prime Minister. Yeah, 1Malaysia. Wonder who is so sampat, so obsessed with the name.

Met Dr Eric Leong, the Raja Hias – Design King of Malaysia at the UK Education Fair last week. He’s really a funny person and chat a bit with him. He introduces me to Teesside University, anyone heard of it before? By the way, congrats him on his doctorate of art.
Bought a work chair for my room! My old plastic chair was broken and this chair is so much comfortable than the normal chair. See the above second picture and you will see the chair.
  • Heavy Workload

    Heavy Workload

Heavy Workload – Super heavy workload right now! Now is Week 12 of this semester, 2 more weeks to end of semester, then final exam and most due dates falls on next week or week 14! I am so crazy, tensed, nervous, gan cheong, excited, chi kek right now. So much to do, some last minutes, some not last minutes, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Don’t know how to express my feeling right now. Good luck, and all the best.

  • Small Sick

    Small Sick

Small Sick – What’s up people? One week of MIA, I am here again. No I was not being kidnapped, nor being lazy. It’s just too much things to do and I went to the Singapore! The above picture describes a bit of my current situation, have an itchy throat, have been coughing for a few days and it’s damn annoying. These meds make me even weaker and sleepy all the time. Damn. Anyway, will be updating more on the blog, very soon! =D 4 more weeks until end of this semester. Yo, it’s not holiday is coming, it’s deadlines and due dates are coming!

  • CLESIC & The Central Malaysia Chung Ling Alumni 50th Anniversary

CLESIC & The Central Malaysia Chung Ling Alumni 50th Anniversary

The alumni, graduates of 1981. Hyper-active group of uncles.

CLESIC & The Central Malaysia Chung Ling Alumni 50th Anniversary – It’s quite surprised that my old Chung Ling High School friend invited me to the Central Malaysia Chung Ling Alumni 50th Anniversary dinner because I haven’t been active with my old school for a long long time. How are you Chung Ling High School?

    Cocktail session.

Actually, it’s not eat, it’s helping out at the dinner, before, and after, in between we get to join in the dinner with all the uncle senior alumnis who are based in Central Malaysia. They are uncles and aunties already, and also member of Central Malaysia Chung Ling Alumni Club, and for us, we are part of CLESIC – Chung Ling Ex-Student Inter-varsity Council. Woahhhh. It’s just, alumni, for university student (at this moment). Only now I know there’s something like this, alumni might not be a place for us right now as we are too young, dominated by uncles, so CLESIC it is.

The guys: me, Khai Liang, Lit Chen, Win Shern, Jing Min, Chuan Hao.

Normally CLESIC happens to be in public university like UM, UKM, USM and all the U-and-the-M. There’s no Taylor’s University, but glad that I was invited as part of it. Well, it’s fun, simple tasks, great dinner, OK-good performance, met new friends, good laughters throughout the night and =).

    Ushering.
Rise for the national anthem. Yoyoyo.
Rise for the school anthem, the last time was, 3 years ago.
A way to control noise in the hall.
    Some Chinese dance performance.
Well, hmm, OK, when I look at this, I’ll think of Bo Hood. Hmm, hmm, hmm. Hello Mr Koh, ex-chief minister of Penang.
CLESIC. Too many to name, I don’t even know some of your name. You know who you are. Lady in blue is Xiao Hui, host from NTV7, happens to be the host for the dinner too.
    This is it.

It was a grand alumni dinner in the Kuala Lumpur. As I know, Chung Ling-kia (what we call Chung Ling student) always do big. No doubt that Chung Ling has the biggest alumni network around the world, UK, China, USA, Australia, they are just everywhere. Proud to be a Chung Ling student, yes I do.

  • Eat, Sleep, Awesome Seaview in Penang

Eat, Sleep, Awesome Seaview in Penang

Awesome sea view from the balcony! Lovely Gurney Drive, taken from my Galaxy S2 by the way, nice right?

Eat, Sleep, Awesome Seaview in Penang – Eat, sleep and checking out the sea views were some of my activities in the past 24 hours! Sleep, I don’t really get much sleep yet because I want to squeeze every bit of time to eat and enjoy the relaxing city of Penang – my home!

Best Lok-lok in Penang, you can eat with a variety of sauce! e.g. tomyam, satay, ginger, spicy chilli and more. So much better than Satay Celup in Malacca.
Rainy day here. That’s why Lok-lok was so good.
    Yums!
Any one Char Koay Teow here in Penang is so much better than KL’s. Lot’s of lard, duck egg and big big cockles! The one at Pulau Tikus Market is one of my favourite. Surprisingly the CKT guy didn’t lansi and say ‘need to wait 30 minutes’/
Delicious little dishes for Teochew porridge at the famous Taibuan Porridge @ Muntri St.
Eat is another thing that I have been doing a lot. Hokkien Prawn Mee, Char Koay Teo, Lok-lok, Teochew Porridge have been serving me well. There’s more to go in the next 24 hours! Can’t wait for the food.
Panorama view from The Light Linear! Went to a site visit today. =D Looking forward for the development here to complete. It will become a beautiful The Light Waterfront
Penang super best landmark – Penang Bridge!
    George Town at far.
Friday was pretty much a busy day for me as it’s a ‘working’ day back in Penang. Saturday will a busy leisure day too! Meeting up friends, pak thor with girlfriend, spend time with family and eat. Then, I’ll be heading back to the capital. Time flies ohhhhhhhhh.

    Good night!

  • White Mask, Concept Presentation

    White Mask, Concept Presentation

White Mask, Concept Presentation – Some random post on my recent happenings at college – Thursday, last. Had a presentation about concept for my latest interior project – office design To be honest, ‘concept’ is the most confusing thing for design student, agree?

I roughly get about 70% about what’s concept is, but generating a unique and meaningful one is still a problem. Hmm hmm. Anyway, don’t care already, will keep learning to improve myself. =D

The white mask people are back! I happened to see them during the last semester and now there’s the new batch of them around the commercial block in uni.
If I am not wrong, this is part of their drama/theater module or something. An assignment I guess.

Presentation, bull-shit session, show-off time is going on, with, one, two, three, four audience. =D Lady in white is my lecture.
    The chilling gang.
    The class.
Here’s me. Thumbs up for me.
  • Sunday, Hock Sheng, Crowded H&M, Sunset From LRT

Sunday, Hock Sheng, Crowded H&M, Sunset From LRT

    Always crowded Pavilion Shopping Mall.

Sunday, Hock Sheng, Crowded H&M, Sunset From LRT – Very random last Sunday with eating pork noodle, doing some gym, head to town with Hock Sheng – high school friend, and took the LRT back. I have been isolating myself for a couple of weeks and it’s time to release myself from my tiny full-of-entertainment relaxing rented room to head to town, breath some fresh air, window shop the shopping mall and eat.

I am weird, I like to stay in the room, and yet I like to go out. Can you explain what do I really like actually? At some point of time, I enjoy staying at home, enjoying the TV, blog, music and Internet, then I am also an outgoing one, check out new stuff, new place, and buy thing. @@

    The queue!
    Very cool interiors.
I want more, please! I shall go to the Europe, the Sweden as I heard it’s even cheaper there, true?

Actually, the main reason I went to town was to check out the newly opened H&M at LOT 10, Bukit Bintang, took the LRT there and not-surprisingly, there’s a queue line outside and luckily it’s not hot and got in in about less than 10 minutes. 3 floors, ground and first floor are ladies’ and the 2nd floor is the man’s.

Amazed, happy, shocked with the low price and choices, I bought a couple of shirts. The price is good! Shirt starts from RM39.90, what do you think? Best of all there’s XS size for little body size like me, but then not much XS/S available. It’s very crowded and happenings, people queuing for fitting room and cashier. I suggest you to go on the weekday or wait for the new one at Setia City Mall @ Setia Alam, Shah Alam.

Standard eat @ Snowflakes – Snowflakes Bestseller Grass Jelly.
Me with the little bag of shirts.
Hock Sheng who used to sit next to me during high school. Just came to KL recently for study.
BMW 650i Coupe – Just got to say, beautiful and I want. So sexy!
Almost sunset from Pavilion bridge to KLCC.
Sunset from Taman Bahagia LRT station. Good bye.
Went to Pavilion for a break at Snowflakes, chit chat with Hock Sheng, talk about some random stuff and his life in KL. Window shopped a bit and then, home we go and I manage to catch the sunset from the LRT station before headed to the carpark. Sunday, that’s it, fun.
  • Mid-Autumn Lok-Lok At Steve’s

    Mid-Autumn Lok-Lok At Steve’s

Mid-Autumn Lok-Lok At Steve’s – Mid-Autumn Festival is often known as a reunion day for the Chinese, but it’s not as important as Chinese New Year’s Eve, so I did not reunion with my family.

So how did I celebrate Mid-Autumn this year? I actually so-called celebrated it on the eve, means the day before at my friend – Steve’s place. To be exact, it was his uncle’s place. Very simple only, they hired a truck of Lok-lok (fish ball, sausage, meat skew steamboat) and we went to eat. That’s it.

No lanterns because the kids took them all. So, it’s us the 4 ma-lat-lous – Steve, Arvin, Wesley and me talking crap and eat lok lok, and with a bunch of Hakka uncle and aunty that I do not know. First time being in a Hakka-community that I know nothing about this dialect.

Thanks for the invite. I’m getting interested with the Hakka-dialect, anyone teach me? Let’s start with vulgar word first (most language learner start with vulgar word, don’t you think so?). Haha.
