Wedding: Wern Chin + Tze Hui

Wedding: Wern Chin + Tze Hui – I’m not really a wedding person except it’s my very close relative like Wern Chin’s my cousin brother or friends of mine.

Chinese weddings are so standard with 8-courses dinner that every dishes are most predictable, there will be a live band singing on the stage, the standard cake cutting session and toasting, and too karaoke. It’s always the parents’ friends that makes up the attendees, people just look at each other on the table and eat. You look at me, I look at you and smile. Chinese weddings have to revamp, not totally change, but upgrade to include more interactions and fun-ness.

    No idea who so high.
    His papa.

Well, I am very happy that my cousin brother is now a married man! I’m thrilled and excited, and I can see it from my uncle and aunty’s eyes about their excitement and happiness. Everyone in the family are happy for this couple – Wern Chin & Tze Hui. When one get married, it will be soon that someone else from the family will get married too, wonder is who and when. Good thing comes after each other. 接二连三。

Anyway, a hearty congratulation to you two – Wern Chin & Tze Hui!

A question to my readers, do you like to attend weddings? =) You find it fun or boring? Any cool weddings to share? Share with us down below.

  • Penang: Lolipot Shabu-Shabu On Christmas Eve

Penang: Lolipot Shabu-Shabu On Christmas Eve

Penang: Lolipot Shabu-Shabu On Christmas Eve – The next time, if you ever wanted to go Lolipot Shabu-shabu on Christmas Eve or any other occasion, please, please make a reservation first! I’ll include the telephone number at the end of the post. Hahahaahaha.

Funny and interesting and cute name – Lolipot. =D
Arron Lim, the India boy, because he is studying in India.
    Me and Alvin.

Alvin suggested Lolipot for Christmas Eve’s dinner and we were there at 8.30pm and it’s really full, full of people. The staff told us that we don’t need to wait anymore even though there’s one unseated table beca.use it’s reserved. We insisted to wait, for the next half hour but no luck. Until we decided to walk away, to somewhere else, the staff ran out and inform us that one customer cancelled their reservation. Is us lucky or too persevere?

    Interiors of the restaurant.
    Milksoup.

It’s my first time to Lolipot, a special name and it’s local style of shabu-shabu as each person gets their own pot and there’s 4 choices of soup – Clear 清汤,Tomyam, Kim Chi & Milk. Sounds interesting right? But I am more a heavy taster, so tomyum it was! The experience gets better if we get to sit near the moving belt as  we can take anything we want from the belt like sushi for the steamboat. Either way, we order from a piece of paper and wait for it to be served. Not bad, something special, and it’s All-You-Can-Eat @ RM38++/person and pretty worth it and hygienic because you eat with your own pot.

    Arron, me, Simon and Alvin.

Interesting place for steamboat/shabu-shabu and that’s my Christmas Eve dinner 3 guys! Yeah and no girls.

Extra member for Christmas Eve – Raykee Gor eating McChicken Nugget and Simon.

Chaiwei, Me, Yiphing, Raykee, Simon and Arron.

Actually, we don’t really have plan for Christmas, nor the feel for it, we spent like 15 minutes standing by the roadside thinking where to go, spent 15 minutes in the car counting down for Christmas and see other people celebrated it. Ended eating McChicken Nuggets at McDonald’s at 1am with extra 3 friends. Haha.

Not a bad night out, Christmas only mah… Merry Christmas! =)

  • Penang: Yesterday Rainy Evening

    Penang: Yesterday Rainy Evening

Penang: Yesterday Rainy Evening – It’s holiday for me, my ohm, my passion for photography, blogging and going here and there are back! During my college semester time, I’ve been always busying with assignment, that I do not hate too, because I love designing, but during my free time, I like to take up my camera and shoot around and post blog, just like the high school time of me, posting a lot of blog post, taking random photos.

So yesterday, randomly took some shots from my house balcony. =D

Penang Port and semi-hidden Bukit Mertajam.

<3 I love building build near to each other to create a dense feeling. I am a city person. Haha.
    Eastern & Oriental Hotel.
    Lovely condo – Gurney Paragon.

By the way, I don’t really feel Christmas in Penang, how about you?

Have been a tour guide for the past 3 days in Penang, it was fun and now I can sit down to have a little lovely time of on my own, breathing the fresh Penang air and hearing the voice of Penang, in my little warm home.
  • Klang Valley: Dragon Door Steamboat 龙门客栈火锅店

Klang Valley: Dragon Door Steamboat 龙门客栈火锅店

Ground floor is not the steamboat. You enter via the stairs beside, but then the ground floor restaurant has the similar design.

Klang Valley: Dragon Door Steamboat 龙门客栈火锅店 – My friend Wesley has been telling me how good and special the steamboat is and I went to tried it last week, I felt … OKOK-only.

You will be welcome by a wall of the shop owners photo taken with some celebrities. Do note that some photos are repeating to create a illusion that super celebrities were here before. Haha, but in fact, there’s quite many celebrities have been there.
    The interiors.

What’s so special about this Dragon Door Steamboat at Cheras, near to Leisure Mall is the interior setting which is very cool, warm and got feel, and then the steamboat is fired by a real charcoal pot which many people claims that it taste better like this. I was not really surprised with charcoal steamboat as there’s one in Penang already.

Guys of Diploma In Interior Design @ Taylor’s University – Arvin, Moh, Gino, Steve and Wesley.

There’s no set menu, it’s all a la carte where you order the dishes one by one of your choice which I find it’s pretty difficult to get satisfaction, more over we are student and keep thinking how much it costs in the end. There’s plenty of sauce for you to mix and match to be eaten with your steamboat that I feel is nice.

Oops, photo was bombed by the steam. Anyway, I very hate Si Chuan Spicy Soup.

Whereas the soup were pretty good too except for the Si Chuan spicy soup which I’ve never fancy about all the while, I like the pork leg soup which surprisingly didn’t result in the craving of fluid like other steamboat’s soup does that has lots of MSG.

    Us again.

Well, it’s a nice place, a little bit pricey and confusing that they should have set menu, and I prefer La Mei Zi in Penang.

  • First Time Visit To Setia Walk, Puchong

First Time Visit To Setia Walk, Puchong

    So many ‘To-Let’!

First Time Visit To Setia Walk, Puchong – If you are from around Puchong, confirm you will know about the latest Setia Walk somewhere near Bandar Puteri, but in case you don’t know, here it is that I’ve just visited last weekend.

Seems like there’s a Hotel, but I couldn’t find it.
Very cool place because of the water features.
    Fountain!

Setia Walk is a mixed commercial + residential + small retail mall development. Currently, there’s really nothing much at there, except some restaurants and a numbers of pubs, a cinema – TGV Cinemas, and a gym – Celebrity Fitness.

There’s also some boutique at there.
    Brussels!

I went there for the cinema actually and the rate is pretty reasonable when comparing to other TGV @ RM10/ticket on a Saturday! Watched Life Of Pi and the screen is pretty awesome, not forget to mention, it’s very cold too for the air-conditioning. Haha.

Well, it seems to be a good place to chill with friend at the pubs at night, pretty interesting concept with nice water features, but then we’ll have to wait for the shops to open all up first.

  • Big Bad Wolf Books Fair 2012 At MIECC Is Good

Big Bad Wolf Books Fair 2012 At MIECC Is Good

Big Bad Wolf Books Fair 2012 At MIECC Is Good – Cheap books! Cheap books! Cheap books WARNING!!!! If you are in KL, you will know about this Big Bad Wolf Books Sales at MIECC (Mines International Convention Centre). They are still on going until 23rd of December 2012!

Yeah, the canal with boats that not many people hop on for a ride.
Prefer The Venetian @ Macau. =D

Well, I went there today morning, GPS was the one who brought me there as I haven’t been to The Mines for don’t know how many years. I only recalled that there’s the shopping mall with a canal connecting to a big lake with boat cruising along. I was like younger than 10 years old that time I guess that I had a boat ride at there.

Yeahhh! The world’s biggest book fair!
Here we are, at the MIECC – Mines International Convention Centre. Look old and not so much of good maintenance. Hmm.

Of course, I started a walk in the mall – The Mines Shopping Mall and lunch there before heading to the MIECC for the Big Bad Wolf. Didn’t really recall much while walking around the mall, and to be honest, the mall is kinda old and not very fun for me, I prefer some other mall, or perhaps a refurbishment will make it better.

    Books #1!
    Books #2!

Cut the mall crap, get to the 4th level and there’s a connection bridge to MIECC and at there I was not surprised with the number of people at there, all book lovers, and not. I don’t know what I am, I love books, I love the idea of reading, but one book can take me some time to be read finish; lazy, and slow, yet interested in it. Weird huh?

Comparing with Popular BookFest, I prefer this one, cheap books mostly around RM8-RM15 and the books are like 3-4 years old. Nice part is there’s plenty of design and architecture books from RM18-RM30. You can find almost any books there, and the best thing is no entrance fee. Why Popular wanted to collect entrance fee at KLCC last time?!

    Books we bought.

Bought books of course, some self-help books, entrepreneurship, design and Clarice got herself a book about romance. Well, it’s just a few but not as much as those bookworms out there, I know I will read very slow, so I did not get much. =D Lovely book fair for book worms, do check it out.

The Lamborghini! Not very into car, but this one is old-school and very cool!
Awesome attraction at the books fair, another Lamborghini. I want one too!
So here’s Clarice and me after the book fair.

By the way, OCBC credit card holder gets an additional of 5% discount. WOAH! Not me. =.=

  • Penang, I Am Coming Home

    Penang, I Am Coming Home

Lovely Gurney Drive view from Straits Quay. Beautiful, isn’t it?

Penang, I Am Coming Home – The last time we (me & Penang) met was more than a month ago, I told myself I can leave home for a long time, yes I can, but my heart does think of home, some times, think of my parents more, I can’t imagine what would it be if I am studying somewhere not in Malaysia where I don’t get to go home so often.

It’s not the aroma of food anymore that I am craving for Penang, it’s the feeling towards Penang; it’s not the fresher air there, but it’s the visual; it’s not the language, but it’s the people, family and friends.

So yeah, even though I have made up my mind that I won’t be residing in Penang permanently for the next 5-10 years, it’s still my home, I miss it, and I will be going home, next week, for the time being at least, two weeks! =D

    121212: Let’s Intern

121212: Let’s Intern – Well, do I need to say more? Hahaha. Let’s intern and learn! Few days ago, I was so worried about getting an internship job, but now I can put down the rock in my heart. I actually got 3 invitations for interview, but this comes first, so too, I accept it first and moreover it’s so much nearer to my place. You know lah, the traffic in the capital of Malaysia is so bad, working somewhere closer is much better. Getting excited to learn in the real world interior design firm. Oh yeah.
Now, I can plan my trip and go back to my hometown soon!

Share The Love: 12.12.12 – Well, there’s too much people to thank and to be grateful of – of course my lovely family, my sweet girlfriend Clarice, my high school crazy bunch of animal friends, my university friends from my class, from the degree class, from my senior’s class too, those lecturers have taught me before, and you.

The lovely one and the powerful one.

Happy 12.12.12 and good luck, all the best and be happy in everything and life, the apocalypse, will….not come. Well, the next 12.12.12 will be 1000 years later. =D
