  • Hong Kong Night Scene From Victoria Harbour

Hohoho. Very random right, suddenly I pop up a post about Hong Kong. Yes! I want to bring you to Hong Kong again because I still have plenty of photos that I have taken in Hong Kong few months back to share with you guys.

One of the must visit place in Hong Kong is the Victoria Harbour, also where Avenue Of Stars is. It’s the best place for you to do some nice photo shoot on Hong Kong night scene and cityscape as it’s overlook the whole Hong Kong island with nice skyscrapers from Kowloon side.

Brother brought a big tripod, we brought two DSLR, a Canon 400D and a Canon 500D. We was actually planned to spend about half an hour at there only but turn on to be a 1 hour photo shooting of the city, and ourselves. Haha.

It got fun as we bought a wireless trigger for the camera from Sham Shui Po market that day and directly went to Victoria Harbour for some photo shoot.

Something’s wrong with the White Balance, but I don’t bother to post process it already as they are already so nice. =D

Ghost effect! =D Welcome to Hong Kong, I love Hong Kong, I love Victoria Harbour, I love the skyscrapers. Yummy. By the way, I actually went to the same place 3 years back. =D

Chung Ling High School Sixth Form Food Fair

    IMG_0302

Yeah, it’s about my high school, Chung Ling High School again! I missed the super big food fair of Chung Ling High School few years back when I was Form 2, 14 years old and in between, the school didn’t organized any food fair until just recently that the Sixth Form student organized a food fair and invited me to come check it out.

    Zez Chien.

Since many of my high school friends are in the Sixth Form, so I went to meet them, though, I couldn’t stay for long as I was working later that day.

    See Rong Zhi.

From what I have known, the purpose of organizing the food fair was to fund for their graduation night.

    Loke Yimei.

Jin Jie Tan, my classmate when I was form 5.

There’s many food at the food fair, and some games stall too. Although not very super-overwhelming, but then I can see the enjoyment of them in promoting and selling the food and everyone enjoyed.

    Sook Fang and Jane.

    Chin Lai.

Even though it was just a short visit, I met friends, talked and ate breakfast at there too, before I proceeded to work at Queensbay Mall.

    Photos Of Leo Idol 2010

Below are some old photos of Leo Idol 2010 that happened last year at Han Chiang High School’s Stadium. Every year, Leo Club organizes a talent quest competition called Leo Idol but I heard that last year’s was the last one already, don’t know is it true or not.

I have been participating in the helper team for 3 years already but I did not help out for last year’s. I was in national service so don’t be surprise for my bald head. Hehe.

So how did I come out from national service camp to attend this Leo Idol event? Actually I was on MC, sick and came out of camp but I recovered and I still have time, so I went to check them out. Hehe.

Leo Idol was getting better, the participants were so strong, so good in singing and they really amazed me a lot.

Each batch was like better than previous batch I felt. Real awesome night.

Botak head. Real old me man. =D

  • The RM1 Red Box Karaoke Promotion at 1st Avenue

The RM1 Red Box Karaoke Promotion at 1st Avenue

Chien Chern doing some exercise 2 hours before.

Karaoke have never been so cheap to me except singing it and screaming with my own in my living room. Red Box Karaoke is my favourite k-ing place in town, Penang, Kuala Lumpur and almost anywhere that have the outlet because it’s cheaper than other which have nice low price student package.

Usually, a normal karaoke session will cost me about RM10-RM15 depends on time and day. I would never spend on the most expensive one which is the buffet dinner at RM38++ per person. Wow. But recently, I spent even lower for karaoke which is at only RM1+! Yes, it’s freaking-ONE-ringgit-ONLY!

In conjunction with the latest and 2nd outlet of Red Box outlet in Penang at the new 1st Avenue shopping mall, they came up with a promotion collaborate with the local daily. Guang Ming Daily for a promotion of singing k at only RM1. The best part of all is that you get what you get at that session. For example, if you go at buffet dinner K at RM38++, you pay only RM1+ and you get the buffet dinner too! =)

But, but, but, but, there’s a but, which is that you have to queue up long long as it’s only limit to 50 people per session and the promotion voucher is not available on Guang Ming Daily everyday, you need to spot for it.

    Hueisean. =)

Guess what, I went to this RM1 karaoke twice! =) Once with my dearest Hueisean, and another time with the boys.

The first one was the earliest, brunch K to me and her. We arrived at about 9.30am and I guess we were the earliest, we only get into the queue when there’s people queueing for it and that’s around 9.45am, then we only need to wait 15 minutes for our turn. Yo, this rocks. We had rice for brunch there. =)

The boys. Me, Cheong Kin, Zez Chien, Arron, Zheng Feng and Chien Chern.

    Zez Chien.

    Cheong Kin and Zheng Feng.

    Arron Lim!

    Started queing 1+ hours before.

Luckily we have an iPad to pass time.

The next visit was on Friday night and we went for the midnight karaoke at 12am. The original price is RM28++ and this time was a long queue for me because we started on the line at around 10.30pm and we waited for freaking 1.5 hours. But the wait is kinda worth because I never try midnight K before and I got buffet supper. Oh yeah. And the singing time was very long, from 12am to 4am.

After the buffet supper and singing for like one, two hours, I started to feel sleepy already and didn’t really sing much. Haha. Half awake while sleeping.

Though, everything was fun, going with dearest was sweet and fun, going with the boys was crazy and shouting, Went home at around 4am and the parking ticket was RM5. WOW. So it’s not exactly RM1+ (RM1.10 with tax) karaoke. Haha, but still worth the fun. Yoyoyo.

  • Town Stimboat and Next Three Days Outing

Town Stimboat and Next Three Days Outing

I don’t know why I was so obsessed with the word “Stim” lately and they as in my friends invited me for steamboat which I keep spelling it as STIMBOAT. STIM-BOAT. Stim has many meaning, one means high (as in sexually aroused) and one means blur, and my meaning is more on the blur part. Haha. So last last week, Arron, Simon Hong, Chien Chern and Zez Chien invited me to go “stimboat” dinner and also to watch Next Three Days at Gurney Plaza.

Yeah, it was a fun day because it had been some times I go out with my secondary school friends which I usually mixed with. Now everyone is studying in different college and it’s kinda hard to meet up and go out together like during last time. Last time we attend class together and go places together, but now, everything has changed, everyone busy with their own stuff already. Me too have my stuff to do.

This is saddening sometimes. But I really really hope we can keep in touch for a long long time. Friendship should last forever IMO, but it doesn’t seems to be. But anyway, let’s talk about what we did.

We meet up at Gurney Plaza to catch a movie and there’s not many movie to watch. We picked The Next Three Days. The movie is kinda cool I tell you, it’s prison break, and that’s all. A little bit boring at the front part but the movie get interesting after then. A good watch.

Then we went to “stimboat” at our usual steamboat place which is the Town Steamboat Restaurant at Macalister Rd. It’s a steamboat buffet. Surprisingly, we stopped eating after we were really full because usually when we go there, we will eat until over-full-full, but this time was different. Just nice-full then we stopped.

After that, we went to take a walk at Straits Quay and went back home to sleepy. =)

Thanks to smashpOp, I got invited to Avira Anti Virus software launching at G City Club Hotel last weekend. It was my first time to attend event in Kuala Lumpur after I came here. Finally, I can check out something cool with everyone.

    P1010723

G City Club Hotel is somewhere on Jalan Tun Razak near to Ampang Park LRT station. I drove there because before that I went to check out something at Lowyat and Sungei Wang. Damn, I was stuck on Federal Highway in the afternoon for 1 hour and it really sucks. A lorry broke down. After that, everything went smoothly.

The event was in The Bridge Bar, on the highest floor of the hotel and it’s a lounge slash pub. A really very cool place and I was so glad that I invited to this special event at such a special place.

  • 18 Birthday to Batu Ferringhi and Hard Rock Penang During Midnight

18 Birthday to Batu Ferringhi and Hard Rock Penang During Midnight

I am talking about my birthday again. Right after having dinner at JF Western Food on my birthday, on 16th July on Friday night, we went to sit car and went around the city. It a typical night with the mind of don’t know where to go, no point of destination. We went to meet at Boo Teik house and hopped on to his Mercedes Benz and he drove us here and there. Pointless, just crapping and enjoying the beautiful city of Penang.

We went to Inti Internation College’s hostel to see Jacqueline. a friend of my good friend Chien Chern. Just to say hi and we drove off away.

Then we went downtown for a round and in the end, no idea why, and we went to Batu Ferringhi. WIthout any reason again, we went to the closed down Mutiara Hotel just for a stop, inhale some fresh air as we were so so so full after the meal at the western food there. We did not drink but we look as if we were drunk because too full, too tired, too uncomfortable and too sleepy, but we still didn’t want to go home yet.

We had a stupid plan which was going into Mutiara Hotel but unfortunately there’s security guard taking care of the abandoned hotel. Still no idea what this hotel is gonna be, no renovation work or plan is going on. It was one of the 5 stars hotel in Penang. Pretty cool but now it’s down, no idea why.

Zheng Feng and Zez Chien were not feeling so well because of car sickness along the Batu Feringghi winding road and ate too much. After getting some fresh air, they felt better and finally we decided to go home.

But before dropping me back home, we went to Hard Rock Hotel to use the toilet, it was 2am at that time and there’s no more live band. Lobby was pretty quiet. Everyone was so ready to sleep already.

Had some toilet business then we were all off. That’s it, that’s how I celebrated or how I passed by birthday. Tired, fun, happy, cool, miss. Unfortunately some friend couldn’t join me but thank you all for your wish. This year I spent most time replying Facebook wishes. I got over 200 from Facebook and I replied every single of it. Tired tired. Haha. Happy birthday to you. =D

  • Cheras Taman Connaught Pasar Malam on Wedesday Night

Cheras Taman Connaught Pasar Malam on Wedesday Night

Pasar malam is night market. I am a pasar malam fan because when I was in Penang, I often go to the pasar malam to look for cheap street food and just walk around for fun among the crowds. It’s nice. After coming to Kuala Lumpur, I haven’t really get to know all the night market. So far, I have been to one at SS2 on Monday and this is another one on Wednesday, the Cheras Taman Connaught pasar malam.

According to my KL friend, this pasar malam is the longest in KL and is about 1.5km long. Wow. This is what it attracts me and I thought there would be selling lots of stuff. Unfortunately, from Sunway to Cheras is like 20 minutes drive away, it’s kinda far.

So on a fine Wednesday night, I decided to make a visit to the night market, navigate through a GPS and a half-local KL people. Haha. Zhi Sheng was the half-local KL people who actually brought me to the wrong road, and turned out I still have to look for Google Maps because Taman Connaught pasar malam POI is not in the GPS list. In the end, we found our way, just navigate to Giant Taman Connaught or UCSI then you can find the pasar malam already.

I was pretty excited when I see the stalls and people flowing here and there. Road was jam and looking for parking was kinda difficult. Try to park at UCSI there and walk to the pasar malam, there’s plenty of parking at UCSI.

We started our journey through the long pasar malam. I was with my classmate Zhi Sheng and my housemate Wei Ding. My classmate girls were there too, just that we went there by two cars. Funny thing was they went out earlier from uni than us but then we arrived earlier. They were lost too.

What’s so fun about pasar malam is that you can buy cheap cheap street food like fish balls, satay and stuff then can eat and shop at the same time. This is really fun. But then keep buying little street food is rather expensive when you total them up. I didn’t care because I don’t always get to go to pasar malam. Surprise to see that the food there are so much different from the pasar malam in Penang.

They love fermented beancurd or simply known as smelly toufu here which something that couldn’t find in Penang. Really smelly.

Tako balls! Not so awesome though.

You can actually see a lot of college students at there because the pasar malam is just beside UCSI university. The place makes me feel lively and a bit like home, just different is that the people here speaks Cantonese instead of Hokkien at home.

We walk walk walk. One different thing again is that they do sell pirated DVD and books at pasar malam which you will not see in the pasar malam in Penang island. In the island only, all the pasar malam don’t sell pirated DVD, which is pretty cool. Haha.

Famous Alisan Taiwanese Chicken Chop, Penang also have.

    This is wonderful.

So have you been wondering what stalls do they have on this very long 1.5km pasar malam? Well, to be honest, most of the stalls are repeating. You will see the same logo, same price, same food every few hundred meters. Really funny. They are just selling the same thing but doubling or trippling their own stall only to make the pasar malam long. Very clever indeed.

Lok lok here is damn expensive man.

Then surprisingly, in the middle of the pasar malam, I met up with the girls, they were coming from the other side and we were walking on the opposite direction. Cool.

I didn’t really eat a proper meal. My dinner was keep buying fish ball, sausage, satay to eat. All the little little food.

The weather was that nice that night. It rained, but we were hot and sweating and thanks to the light rain, cooled us up. However, the rain get bigger later. Haha.

Rain big big and we went home. The pasar malam is real long and hopefully got chance go again but not anytime soon cause go there is money wasting, far and eat a lot. Haha.

  • Kelana Jaya LRT to KLCC with Penang People

Kelana Jaya LRT to KLCC with Penang People

Last weekend was an awesome, wet, tiring, reunion and fun Saturday to me. I get to go to downtown Kuala Lumpur for a walk, to see the magnificent twin towers which had become boring to me, see the gorgeous Pavilion shopping mall, the crowded but not as crowded as Singapore’s Orchard Rd’s Bukit Bintang. =D

From Bandar Sunway to Kuala Lumpur. I have found a way to get there fast, save expensive parking cost at Kuala Lumpur’s shopping mall and that is park your car or go to Kelana Jaya LRT then then the LRT straight to the city. I know people here might know it already, but there’s still from Penang still don’t know.

Haha. You need to use your Touch N’ Go to part at the LRT and you need to use the LRT service in order to have your car park fee at RM3 the whole day or else you will be charged hourly. Arron asked me why I knew about this, because I Google-d. LOL.

That day was a wet day because it’s raining on and off, cats and dogs, Tom and Jerry. Sometimes big, sometimes, small. Made going place difficult only.

That days attendee were me your blogger, Arron from Penang, Tee Jin, from Penang, Pin Hoong from Penang, Carmen from Penang, Xiu Xin from Penang, and Jing Min from Penang. OK, they are all from Penang. I don’t know what am I talking about. >.< It’s Saturday, it’s weekend and everyone took a day off from study. Some come far from Shah Alam, some come far from Damansara and the furthest was Sepang, which is 45 minutes ride from there. Woo.

I don’t know why, I have tell you before. I have something on subways and LRT. I just like riding on it. It’s fun. At here in Kuala Lumpur, there’s the KTM and LRT. KTM is nearer to me and I get free parking by parking at Carrefour carpark, but then I don’t want to use the service because of the slowness, and dirty. LRT is much more faster, frequency is like 5 minutes per train and I can go KLCC directly, though a Ringgit more expensive.

    What is this?!

I tell you LRT user, or whatever commuter user in KL, go get a Touch N Go car for your ride, save up time and make Malaysia more high tech. Utilize it, it’s not just for toll. I have one, bought from Penang and I pay for Penang Bridge for only RM5.60 instead of standard toll rate RM7.00. Special privilege.

Actually, there’s reason I go to KLCC because my lecturer asked me to go check out the HOMEDEC exhibition which is related to my studies. My friends who are not in the course were so kind to acompany me go there. You guys rocks. Thank you.

Super expensive chocolate, who can buy for me?

When we reached KLCC, we wanted to go to the KLCC, which is the convention centre but sadly it rain super heavily because there’s no shade or covered walkway or underground passes going there, do they? We didn’t know so we waited the rain to stop only then we walk there.

I don’t really know around in there, I seriously need a pro to guide me. That would be my dad, but he’s not around in Kuala Lumpur. Perhaps the next exhibition, I shall ask him along then explain each and everything to me. =) Superman dad rocks.

Bought some cheap magazine at there to do some references at home.

After KLCC HomeDec, the sky rained again! @#&%(*%)! We wanted to call the Sun come out but we didn’t have his number so in the end, we wait wait wait, then we take taxi go to Pavilion. Haha. The first taxi really shit, quoted us RM10 for just a walking distance, the next one was better, RM5, we 5 person hopped on and another 2 were under the
umbrella. Next stop, Pavilion, Bukit Bintang and go back home. ^.^

    Play Photobooth In My Room

Last weekend, before going back to my National Service camp, at Kem PLKN White Resort Balik Pulau, my NS friends came over to my place for a while. Then they spotted a Mac and I opened the Photo Booth application. Undeniable that this is my favourite and most most fun apps on the Mac. It’s always very fun to play with, I don’t know why I didn’t play with web cam on other computer, but just on the Mac. Yee!

People in the photos are, Boon Chuan, Sumay, Huei Sean, Jolyn and of course myself!
