Back To Kuala Lumpur
Back To Kuala Lumpur – 3 months of holiday, 2.5 months used for internship, 0.25 months used for holiday to Taiwan and Macau and 0.25 months enjoying in Penang. Now I am back to this big city, it’s exciting, busy and hectic. Back to school, back to assignment, hopefully there will be more time to explore around the city until I graduate this year then I might never come back again. KL is a big city, fast, and beautiful, but I prefer Penang, or either way, something faster like Singapore, or Hong Kong.Anyway, after travelling to Taiwan, I feel that Kuala Lumpur is not that bad after all, has a nice cityscape, and lot’s of skyscrapers when compare to Taipei. However, on public amenities, roads, public transport, Kuala Lumpur is way far behind. -

Klang Valley: Hakata Ippudo Ramen, Pavilion
Klang Valley: Hakata Ippudo Ramen, Pavilion – Ramen craze back again. Ever since I had ramen in Singapore – Marutama & Ippudo, then at 1 Utama – Menya Musashi, I am so in love with very good ramen and the soup. I had Ippudo in Singapore before so I know it’s good, the recent opening of the outlet at Pavilion, KL makes me feels excited and so last week I went to try it out with my babe.We went there with an exciting and hungry feeling. Just as in Singapore, you have to wait, not queue, but give your name to the receptionist and they will call your name when it’s ready to be seated. Not so long for 2 seats, less than 10 minutes of wait and we were in!The interiors are very interesting, modern, mysterious, dark with loud pop music playing, just as the outlet in Mandarin Gallery, Singapore, but bigger space. Without much hesitation, it’s food time!We ordered a Akamaru Tamago (RM30+) which the soup is cooked with Ippudo’s secret miso, garlic oil, belly chasu served with kikurage, bean sprouts and spring onions. Awesome max, I suggest you get this instead of the standard Shiromaru Motoaji. Yummy, but it’s a little bit salty, but after all it’s good. (On par with Menya Musashi’s but I tend to favor towards Menya’s because I can control the soup with the garlic and chili oil). There’s also rice – Hakata Meshi (RM11+) which is rice topped with chashu and mentaiko, served with shredded egg omeletter. This is a nice one too!Lastly, the small side dish that we ordered was the Baruketsu Tofu (RM18+), spicy tofu and minced pork with crispy noodle in hot stone pot. Somehow, the one I had in Singapore was nicer as the noodle was way crispier and the gravy was more saturated, it’s a bit waterish here.Nice atmosphere and location for ramen, price wise cheaper than in Singapore, but if were to pick the best ramen broth, sorry my choice will go to Menya Musashi.Hakata Ippudo Ramen (below GSC)Level 4, Pavilion Shopping Mall,Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.Telephone: +603-21106233View Shiok Or Not : Food & Travel Map in a larger mapPictures are taken with Canon EOS 60D + Tamron F/2.8 17-55mm -

Internship Experience: Last 2 Days & End
Internship Experience: Last 2 Days & End – Finally, ten weeks of internship at the interior design studio in Kelana Jaya has finally comes to an end. It started with a bit of hard time on me because I was so not familiar with real world interior design practice, later it gets comfortable with the colleague and work. After all, I did enjoy my time at there, met peoples, learned stuff.Last two days was pretty comfortable and exciting because it’s coming to an end, and a bit of not-willingness as to say bye bye to the new friend I’ve met. Nevertheless, it was fun one, with good food, good laughter, nice work, and nice site visit to a huge house with awesome scenery.=)Thank you for the guidance, allowance and knowledge and we will meet again in faith, my fellow colleagues. Let’s get back to school now.See ya, and bye bye. -

Klang Valley: Betty’s Midwest Kitchen
Klang Valley: Betty’s Midwest Kitchen – Finally, I’ve got a chance to try this American restaurant at Aman Suria. I actually went there last year with Arron & Tee Jin, unfortunately it was closed. I’ve been hearing good review about it too! Well, finally is finally, it’s also sort of a small farewell dinner with my boss and the senior interior designer of my intern 2 weeks ago.America On A Plate – well said. Not surprised to see the restaurant was already full with people. Found a seat and quickly made the order. There’s Dog Food, Meatloaf & Pork Chops for the 5 of us, as well as a small coleslaw as side. The restaurant is so not halal with a wall of PIGS pictures. Anyway, the dinner was just awesome and happy talking with Mr Boss and the designers. For the first time that we have a casual talk among each other out of work. One funny thing is that the gravy of all seems to taste the same, you will feel it in the Dog Food and the Pork Chop, but after all, they are good. Well, Betty’s, I’ll come back when I have the chance! America & the food rocks.BTW, I love America, more than the food!
Dog food! You don’t have to be a Chihuahua to eat this. Fries mixed with cheese and their special gravy. Yummeh! Yo Obama, do you eat these always?Betty’s Midwest KitchenA-G-40, Jalan PJU1/43,Aman Suria Damansara,46301 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.Telephone: +603-78800196View Shiok Or Not : Food & Travel Map in a larger map

Klang Valley: Namoo On The Park, Publika
Klang Valley: Namoo On The Park, Publika – So many to write about in my blog, my Taiwan’s trip, some cool food in Klang Valley, my internship experience and the Miao Hui in Penang that happened last month. Stay tuned to my blog, keep reading, keep sharing, I will bring more good photos and content to you all. =)Few weeks back in KL, I went to Publika for dinner. The initial plan was S.Wine at B.I.G, but then when we arrived, the lady told us that the kitchen has closed! What a bad timing, and we ended up at Namoo In The Park, a contemporary Korean-Fusion restaurant with a cute name and contemporary atmosphere. I pretty much like the interiors of this little restaurant that locates on the first floor of Publika.Recently have been eating a lot of nice restaurant food lately, going broke but I just can’t stop myself from exploring more of them. HAHA. Talk about the food, it’s Korean Fusion, so it’s Western-Korean mix. The rice burger is uberly nice and big portion. Fish & Chips was huge too, but a little bit too standard and the famous potato cake was not my type of desserts, too sticky with a mooncake feeling.Afterall, not bad, can come back again. So is not bad, can come back again.

Taipei Trip: From Penang – Hong Kong – Taipei
Taipei Trip: From Penang – Hong Kong – Taipei (Day 1) – Last week was an awesome week as I went on a trip to Taipei and Macau! It was a nice getaway after my 2.5 months of internship and also a little bit of rest and relax to prep myself for the new semester which will be starting next week. Few more days of relaxing time in Penang and I will be back to Kuala Lumpur again.Anyway, in this coming days, follow my blog for a virtual trip to Taipei and Macau with me. =D JOMMMMM! One more thing, this is a full Taipei trip which I focus on travelling the north Taiwan. KIAAAAA….
Fish fillet with fried rice. Weird airplane food by Cathay Pacific, the fish tasted weird. XD
Oh yes, Hong Kong! My favourite place in Asia. I stop here to transit for Taipei.
Twilight from the air.
Chicken sandwich from Hong Kong to Taipei however tasted good! Yummeh! I didn’t finish it because I wanna have an empty stomach for Taiwan’s street food.

Klang Valley: Nadeje Crepe Cake At PJ Three Two Square
Klang Valley: Nadeje Crepe Cake At PJ Three Two Square – That Saturday didn’t just stop like this at the Bak Kut Teh and also cycling in the morning, there’s still one late afternoon desserts chilling time and that’s to the newly open Nadeje Crepe Cake located at PJ’s Three Two Square.
Those who have been to Malacca must have know about the famous Nadeje Cafe which sells crepe cake. I wasn’t that excited because it has become something that’s not Malacca’s specialties anymore as you can find it in Klang Valley! Nevertheless, I still brought a happy and tired to visit the place and spend a small afternoon with crepes.
A little bit disappointing when I see the cafe is not as beautiful as the one in Malacca. There’s so less seats and we waited for like 15 minutes to get a seat. I believe the open up this cafe in PJ is to cater for take-away instead of create a nice atmosphere for people to enjoy like in Malacca. There’s only a few seats out on the corridor and inside. So, it’s not my next hangout place. Haha.

I like Pearl Of The Orient. Do you notice that Earl Grey taste like your soap?
Henry, Siyi, Weishi, Jason, Ling Jia, Quenna, me, Wei Kean and Mei Jia. Cake was not bad, crepe all taste the same to me. Haha, somehow I still like the Hokkaido Chocolate @ Twelve Cups, Penang. Yummeh! What do you think about Nadeje?

Klang Valley: Famous Seng Huat Klang Bak Kut Teh
Klang Valley: Famous Seng Huat Klang Bak Kut Teh – Yes, Klang is very famous for Bak Kut Teh! But there’s too many bak kut teh out there at Klang and it’s pretty hard for us to decide where to go for after our cycling at Bukit Cahaya. Some people says that when it’s too famous, the quality turns bad, but we just didn’t care, we went to the one that is most discussed on the internet, the most results on Google search result and it’s this Seng Huat Bak Kut Teh, also known as the Bak Kut Teh below the flyover bridge in Klang. We were so hungry after 3 hours ride of bicycle at Bukit Cahaya and it took about 20 minutes from Shah Alam to reach there. Thanks to GPS, we actually missed the junction and took us another 10 minutes to turn back in. Aduhainya.Combined two tables for 10 of us, didn’t really know how to order, so it’s the Seng Huat people who made the decision for us, a mixture of different pork meat, with vegetable and toufu pok. That’s our lunch! The taste is pretty nice, definitely better than I had in Penang but somehow there’s one at Aman Suria – Shun Heng Bak Kut Teh seems to have a stronger taste. Afterall, it was a good one!One more thing, it’s only RM11 per person, cheap!Seng Huat Bak Kut TehNo. 68, Jalan Besar,41000 Klang.Telephone: +6012-3098303 / +6012-385514Business Hours: 7.30am – 12.30pm / 5.30pm – 8.30pm dailyView Shiok Or Not : Food & Travel Map in a larger map -

Cycling At Taman Botani Negara / Bukit Cahaya, Shah Alam
Cycling At Taman Botani Negara / Bukit Cahaya, Shah Alam – There’s actually quite a few names for this place – Taman Botani Negara, Taman Pertanian Bukit Cahaya or Bukit Cerakah, call it whatever you like. That many names really makes people confusing, but I believe it’s more likely to known as Bukit Cahaya.I’d been searching for nature hangout place for hiking, or cycling around Klang Valley and this is one of the place that I found where you can cycle around this small national park. 20 minutes of drive from Bandar Sunway and you will reach this place. 10 people, 2 cars and we reached about 8am! And you know what? The place haven’t open yet. It has opening hour 8.30am.Going to the place is not free! Parking – RM3, entrance to the place – RM3, rent a bicycle – RM10/hour! Many pro brought their own bike, but we are not pro, so we have to pay and it’s probably a place that I would go once as our 3 hour ride totalled up RM30 already. Remember to check the bike brake when picking up your bike.
Name check! Henry, Mei Jia, Wei Shi, Ling Jia, Siyi, Quenna, Wei Kean, Hooi Pheng, Jason & Nick Chan. =D Anyway, talk back about the place. It’s pretty cool, a little bit like Penang’s Botanical Garden, the road is not flat, it’s up and down of hill slopes, so it’s pretty tough to ride, but going down hill slopes is damn fun! We queued for like 20 minutes to get a bike and once we got our hands on it, we started riding!Actually there’s nothing much to see, the place was not very well-maintained despite collecting fee from people. There’s an adventure activity called Skytrex where you can experience tree climbing, flying fox and more like the Escape Park in Penang. We did not go to that because we did not book in advance.
I see no monkey by the way!
Nice blue sky day!
Found coconut tree and Mei Jia got excited and wanted to get one.
Well… I was skeptical about the coconut at first whether it’s safe to drink or not, but she convinced that it’s alright because she came from a kampung with lots of coconut trees. HAHA.
Not that sweet afterall, but refreshing!
Yeah, lovely Saturday. Although the place was not that person, yet it’s pretty fun pun, for a while I was in the city and for a while, we seemed to be spend like 3 hours in the nature that is so close to the city. The perspiration, laughter, wind and the stress on leg muscle makes it fun! Nice Saturday out with interior design friends again! =D
