Meeting Up Friends At M&M & Piccadilly Circus

Meeting Up Friends At M&M & Piccadilly Circus – Last holiday in London was like a little gathering, meeting up with him and her and they and them. The world is really small, London being in the middle of the Earth was like a meeting point for me and friends from Malaysia. Although they did not come directly from Malaysia to meet up, but from all over United Kingdom and Europe, it was a good meet up. Don’t you feel it’s amazing that you can still meet the you know well at a very foreign land, but not your hometown? And right, there’s really many Malaysian in the UK. Hmmmm.

Inside M&M, one of the famous attractions in London at Leicester Square. It’s like a retail + attractions, always that crowded.

At Piccadilly Circus, something like New York’s Times Square, but with so much less LED and sign boards.

Friends of Malaysia & Hong Kong from Newcastle.

  • Penang: Lolipot Shabu-Shabu On Christmas Eve

Penang: Lolipot Shabu-Shabu On Christmas Eve

Penang: Lolipot Shabu-Shabu On Christmas Eve – The next time, if you ever wanted to go Lolipot Shabu-shabu on Christmas Eve or any other occasion, please, please make a reservation first! I’ll include the telephone number at the end of the post. Hahahaahaha.

Funny and interesting and cute name – Lolipot. =D
Arron Lim, the India boy, because he is studying in India.
    Me and Alvin.

Alvin suggested Lolipot for Christmas Eve’s dinner and we were there at 8.30pm and it’s really full, full of people. The staff told us that we don’t need to wait anymore even though there’s one unseated table beca.use it’s reserved. We insisted to wait, for the next half hour but no luck. Until we decided to walk away, to somewhere else, the staff ran out and inform us that one customer cancelled their reservation. Is us lucky or too persevere?

    Interiors of the restaurant.
    Milksoup.

It’s my first time to Lolipot, a special name and it’s local style of shabu-shabu as each person gets their own pot and there’s 4 choices of soup – Clear 清汤,Tomyam, Kim Chi & Milk. Sounds interesting right? But I am more a heavy taster, so tomyum it was! The experience gets better if we get to sit near the moving belt as  we can take anything we want from the belt like sushi for the steamboat. Either way, we order from a piece of paper and wait for it to be served. Not bad, something special, and it’s All-You-Can-Eat @ RM38++/person and pretty worth it and hygienic because you eat with your own pot.

    Arron, me, Simon and Alvin.

Interesting place for steamboat/shabu-shabu and that’s my Christmas Eve dinner 3 guys! Yeah and no girls.

Extra member for Christmas Eve – Raykee Gor eating McChicken Nugget and Simon.

Chaiwei, Me, Yiphing, Raykee, Simon and Arron.

Actually, we don’t really have plan for Christmas, nor the feel for it, we spent like 15 minutes standing by the roadside thinking where to go, spent 15 minutes in the car counting down for Christmas and see other people celebrated it. Ended eating McChicken Nuggets at McDonald’s at 1am with extra 3 friends. Haha.

Not a bad night out, Christmas only mah… Merry Christmas! =)

  • CLESIC & The Central Malaysia Chung Ling Alumni 50th Anniversary

CLESIC & The Central Malaysia Chung Ling Alumni 50th Anniversary

The alumni, graduates of 1981. Hyper-active group of uncles.

CLESIC & The Central Malaysia Chung Ling Alumni 50th Anniversary – It’s quite surprised that my old Chung Ling High School friend invited me to the Central Malaysia Chung Ling Alumni 50th Anniversary dinner because I haven’t been active with my old school for a long long time. How are you Chung Ling High School?

    Cocktail session.

Actually, it’s not eat, it’s helping out at the dinner, before, and after, in between we get to join in the dinner with all the uncle senior alumnis who are based in Central Malaysia. They are uncles and aunties already, and also member of Central Malaysia Chung Ling Alumni Club, and for us, we are part of CLESIC – Chung Ling Ex-Student Inter-varsity Council. Woahhhh. It’s just, alumni, for university student (at this moment). Only now I know there’s something like this, alumni might not be a place for us right now as we are too young, dominated by uncles, so CLESIC it is.

The guys: me, Khai Liang, Lit Chen, Win Shern, Jing Min, Chuan Hao.

Normally CLESIC happens to be in public university like UM, UKM, USM and all the U-and-the-M. There’s no Taylor’s University, but glad that I was invited as part of it. Well, it’s fun, simple tasks, great dinner, OK-good performance, met new friends, good laughters throughout the night and =).

    Ushering.
Rise for the national anthem. Yoyoyo.
Rise for the school anthem, the last time was, 3 years ago.
A way to control noise in the hall.
    Some Chinese dance performance.
Well, hmm, OK, when I look at this, I’ll think of Bo Hood. Hmm, hmm, hmm. Hello Mr Koh, ex-chief minister of Penang.
CLESIC. Too many to name, I don’t even know some of your name. You know who you are. Lady in blue is Xiao Hui, host from NTV7, happens to be the host for the dinner too.
    This is it.

It was a grand alumni dinner in the Kuala Lumpur. As I know, Chung Ling-kia (what we call Chung Ling student) always do big. No doubt that Chung Ling has the biggest alumni network around the world, UK, China, USA, Australia, they are just everywhere. Proud to be a Chung Ling student, yes I do.

  • PIK NIK Food & Gathering With Primary School Friend

PIK NIK Food & Gathering With Primary School Friend

PIK NIK Food & Gathering With Primary School Friend – It’d been a while that I see and meet my primary school’s friend. After studying in Chung Ling High School, it seems like I was lost in contact with most of them. All the while I was like mixing with high school friends, only when Facebook arrives on the web, we started to communicate again. Well, it’s nice to have some nice primary school mate who organises some gathering session.

Well, thanks Joanne for organising that recent gathering session at PIK NIK when I was in Penang few weeks ago. I was pretty excited for that as I haven’t been meeting for a long long time. In fact, I did forget about a few girls in the invitation list, hehehe, but not now. Now I’ve remember all of you! No worry.

It was dinner, it was gathering, it was photo session, it was Zenga session, it was just joking around, it was reunion. Funny that I didn’t know what to talk at first, was shy at the girls, nothing much with the boys as they were high school mate. But crap and bullshits coming out of mouth after some warm up of “Hello” here and there. Laughter started to break the silence. HAHAHA.

How about food? Not low price, but looks good! Should have tried out the smoked salmon waffle. I ordered a new food in the menu – Spicy Kimchi Spaghetti and seriously…. It’s HOT AND SPICY! But with my spicy tongue, it’s still acceptable.

    Spicy Kimchie Spaghetti with sausages.

Chicken Waffle Burger. Looks yummy and very worth with that portion.

Smoked Salmon Waffle – Yums! Very good.

    Bacon Waffle.

Food presentation does indeed looks pretty at there. Forgot to mention, the owner behind this little cafe is a Graphic Designer! That’s why you will see very irregular seatings and fancy graphical artwork around the cafe. Cool place to chill, perhaps in the afternoon. It gets pretty noisy at night. =D

Photos of some Zenga session and group shot with them…

Nice expression of Vi Vien before falling off .

One cool thing, why so many I know are either studying dentistry or medicine???? They are like everywhere around me! Happy gathering and all the best in everything! It’s time to focus back on interior design study! =)

  • Good To See You Guys (5SA1 – Class Of 2009)

Good To See You Guys (5SA1 – Class Of 2009)

Wei Lee, Shi Jie, Tee Jin, Juan Shong, Jing Min, Hock Sheng, Jin Jie, Jin Sheng, Ee Teng, ME.

Good To See You Guys (5SA1 – Class Of 2009) – What a night… Spent the rainy night chit chatting with bunch of old friends of Chung Ling High School that have not met for a long time at the hawker stall and Starbucks Coffee, Straits Quay. It’s a good night to gather around and talk crap, mostly listening to Juan Shong talking his awesome life in United Kingdom. Although not everyone turned up, but it’s good to meet up.

Each of them have their own path of life, most of who I’ve met are and is going to the U.K., a few in Penang, a few going to Kuala Lumpur, a few to Johor, and me? Still gonna be in Kuala Lumpur for a year, but no idea where to after that. =) Still early to plan I guess?

  • Poster, Steamboat & Beach Street For Arron & Chien Chern

Poster, Steamboat & Beach Street For Arron & Chien Chern

Poster, Steamboat & Beach Street For Arron & Chien Chern

Poster, Steamboat & Beach Street For Arron & Chien Chern – The two familiar name – Arron & Chien Chern once again appeared on my blog. Haha. Arron & Chien Chern, both are my best buddy who are flying off soon, one to India and another to Liverpool, UK. Main subject of the post is Arron as he is flying off real soon and secondly, we just celebrated Chien Chern’s birthday, last night on Beach Street – very randomly.

I don’t know where to start with. Two days ago, I went to PIK NIK CAFE to meet up with Arron, Simon, Chien Chern, Raykee and Liang Sun to give out a big piece of poster as a memory for him as he is going off to India for further studies. What’s worst with India is he has to be there for the next 5 years. WOW. Ok, so I printed a collage photos of him for him. (I want to complain that printing in Penang is freaking expensive! KL is 60% cheaper for the same size. SUCKS.)

Poster, Steamboat & Beach Street For Arron & Chien Chern

Poster, Steamboat & Beach Street For Arron & Chien Chern

Then yesterday, we went to steamboat get-together at the Town Steamboat House, which we used to get-together a few years back. Price has increased from RM19.90 to RM22.90. Soup taste is getting lousier, it’s not as fun as before and it was oily hot!

After steamboat, Beach Street was our next destination. Chilling out at Logan Cruise Steak House with in-house special beverage. At 12am, we just sang birthday song and talk crap by the road side. So, farewell Arron, and Chien Chern and all. It seems like many people are going elsewhere, and I’m gonna stay here in Malaysia. Do you think Malaysia is a good place to live in the next 1o years? I have to consider that after this coming general election.

  • Penang Canon EOS User Gathering At Coob Cafe

Last Sunday night, I went to Coob Cafe at KOMTAR Walk to meet up with the Penang Canon EOS DSLR users for a little chit-chat and sharing session (some known as TT / Teh Tarik session). Well, since I am in a holiday and so lucky to be back in my hometown while his event happens, so I went to join the EOS DSLR user for a little gathering to make friends and try some power gear. =D

These lens total up can buy a car. I am serious.

I actually got the invites from Facebook and I knew one of them. It’s a good sharing session because I get to played with some powerful lenses and learn about some photography stuff, as you know I am still very noob in photography even though I have been playing for quite a long time, yet my interest in photography has not faded yet.

As you know, I just bought a new lens lately, the Sigma, so I shared it out too. One thing, my camera was the oldest at there, using the Canon EOS 400D, what a classic. Even though it’s old, I am still loving it, it’s still powering my blog with all the awesome photos.

Somehow, I am thinking of upgrade, just that I don’t have enough money for it yet. So in the mean time of saving it, I am still sticking with my lovely 400D. =D

Played 2 L lenses at there, one was the 70-200 F2.8L and another one was the 100mm F2L. L lens is the top of the lines and the most high quality Canon photographic lens, people like to say L stands for luxurious. For your information, an L lens, the cheapest one is about RM2.8k. Expensive right? Photography is really an expensive hobby. However, the photo quality is superb!

Please support my sponsors (advertisement on blog) more so I can save more money to upgrade my photography gear. =D

    Do you like photography?

  • Gift Exchange Party at Anthony Tan’s Place

Gift Exchange Party at Anthony Tan’s Place

Last week, my tuition teacher, Anthony Tan who taught me Maths and Science had a gift exchange party at his place. His place is not a typical house, but some sort of entertainment house IMO with KTV, snooker, TVs, food and more. Anthony is always a teacher full of respect. To be honest, without him, my science and maths wouldn’t get A last time during high school already. =)

    So many gifts!

I thought it’s a Christmas + New Year themed party but in fact, it’s just a gift exchange party for fun, a party to relax before school reopens on the 3rd of January for most of the people. So each people present brought a gift worth at least RM18 and trust me, there’s many funny, stupid and lame present. It’s not really exchanging for something awesome, but for something funny, and great laugh.

I brought something simple, a headset worth RM18 exactly. Haha. Didn’t really think thoroughly about what’s funny and lame. There’s people giving toothpaste worth of RM18, a pot of flower worth of RM18, hanger worth of RM18, hammer worth of RM18 and they are really lame.

Best gift that night was a RM100 cash, but only a person got it. In the mean time, I get to talk with my old primary school friends and high school friends who were there too!

    KTV.

Anthony really has so many student and it made me felt old that night because most of who were present are younger than me. OMG. Haha.

    Primary and high school friends.

    Airplane in a home.

    Garden in a home.

Talk talk, play play, watch watch TV and that’s the entertainment of the night. =)

    Happy New Year! =)

  • Town Stimboat and Next Three Days Outing

Town Stimboat and Next Three Days Outing

I don’t know why I was so obsessed with the word “Stim” lately and they as in my friends invited me for steamboat which I keep spelling it as STIMBOAT. STIM-BOAT. Stim has many meaning, one means high (as in sexually aroused) and one means blur, and my meaning is more on the blur part. Haha. So last last week, Arron, Simon Hong, Chien Chern and Zez Chien invited me to go “stimboat” dinner and also to watch Next Three Days at Gurney Plaza.

Yeah, it was a fun day because it had been some times I go out with my secondary school friends which I usually mixed with. Now everyone is studying in different college and it’s kinda hard to meet up and go out together like during last time. Last time we attend class together and go places together, but now, everything has changed, everyone busy with their own stuff already. Me too have my stuff to do.

This is saddening sometimes. But I really really hope we can keep in touch for a long long time. Friendship should last forever IMO, but it doesn’t seems to be. But anyway, let’s talk about what we did.

We meet up at Gurney Plaza to catch a movie and there’s not many movie to watch. We picked The Next Three Days. The movie is kinda cool I tell you, it’s prison break, and that’s all. A little bit boring at the front part but the movie get interesting after then. A good watch.

Then we went to “stimboat” at our usual steamboat place which is the Town Steamboat Restaurant at Macalister Rd. It’s a steamboat buffet. Surprisingly, we stopped eating after we were really full because usually when we go there, we will eat until over-full-full, but this time was different. Just nice-full then we stopped.

After that, we went to take a walk at Straits Quay and went back home to sleepy. =)

  • Batu Ferringhi With Chien Chern and Cheong Kin

Batu Ferringhi With Chien Chern and Cheong Kin

I don’t know why recently my ass is so naughty and couldn’t stick still to the chair. For some night, I felt like going out for some fresh air and not staying at home. And my recent favourite place is Batu Ferringhi, a beach like 15 minutes from my home.

Last time I usually will go to town or go to pasar malam at Jelutong but suddenly feel like going to Batu Ferringhi, thinking of getting out of the busy city to a tourist area, more peace, more fun. Haha.

It was a Wednesday night and I asked Cheong Kin who stays in Tanjung Bungah and Chien Chern who stays in Batu Ferringhi out for a little boys chit-chat night and meet-up before I leave Penang. We actually didn’t know where to go. No night market walking because I went there a week before with Chien Chern already. I wanted a place with cheap drinks, with peoples and a cool environmnet, but hardly find any at Batu Ferringhi, especially one with cheap drinks.

People have been talking about the Sixty9ine Mansion, a pub/bistro with swimming pool and lots of sofa, and also DJ for music. It’s a nightlife place, not really a club but it’s a cool hang out place for youngster. I’ve never been there before, curious and we decided to went in to check it out.

It’s pretty but there’s not many people maybe it’s still early. Walked around but didn’t want to look for a seat because we knew it’s expensive, mostly liquor in the menu. No chicks, we only boys, where fun? Haha.

Took some photos and now at least I can tell people I went in before, for photos. LOL. Anyway, if there’s chance, I wanna go there again, for drinks of course.

Right after we left, people like starting to flow in. I thought it’s ladies night and there would be many people but not. Maybe because it’s weekdays and people lazy to go until Batu Ferringhi which is pretty far. If you go there on a Saturday, it’s freaking full and the whole Batu Ferringhi is so jam because of this Sixty9ine.

In the end, we went to Sunset Bistro for drinks, and man’s talk. There’s people curious of what’s man’s talk. Simple, man’s topic – girls, what else? Gaming? Haha. This visit can say it’s my second time going there, the first time was very long time ago already. But have to say, this place is cool! Like it.

    Chien Chern.

    Charging my gadget.

    Cheong Kin.

Although it’s still not the cheapest place we’ve found, but it’s OK already because there’s no more cheap place in Batu Ferringhi. It’s a tourist area and we can expect nothing. Any idea or recommendation of chit-chat place with cheap drinks? Haha.
