  • A Visit To HELP University And HELP Residence

Klang Valley I am back! Luckily I did not stuck in the Raya jam last weekend when everyone was just going back to their work town or home town from other place. I came back last Saturday, early in the morning to get rid from the super long jam. My first destination upon arrival was HELP University College at Pusat Bandar Damasara because that my friend, Chien Chern who fetched me and Tee Jin back wanted to check in to the hostel of his new school.

This was my first time visiting the campus and I never really knew the exact location. Friends keep telling me it’s near to Mid Valley, near to Bangsar, it’s at Damansara. But I have no idea where it was, when I heard about Damansara, I only know about Damasara Utama, where the shopping mall 1 Utama is. Haha.

But now, I know where it is located, and it’s located undergroumd. Haha. Not exactly underground, the building itself is on a hill slope which the upper part is office building and lower part to the slope is the campus itself.

It was already close when we visited the place. It’s quiet, it’s so much different from Taylor’s University that I am studying in, it look, different. HAHA.

Next was to visit the HELP Residence, the hostel for the school. It’s just accompanying my friend to check-in and check out the hostel.

RM550 without utilities fee on a twin-sharing room with bathroom, without kitchen. What do you think? Looking at the photo, they look a bit dirty on the wall, but the HELP University has responded with a comment below, quite good:

Nick, Thank you for sharing your photos with us. I wished we had the chance to show you around HELP Damansara campus and the Residence. For your information, we have identified the room and immediately went in to repair and repainted the place. This is certainly an isolated case. The previous student had just moved out in the previous week and due to the long Raya holidays, the maintenance staff had not cleaned up the room in time for your friend’s check in. By the way, here is a link to show you the rest of the facilities in HELP. http://www.help.edu.my/sites/h…

Nervertheless, HELP Residence do have a good view out of the window.

  • Go To Eat Penang Road Famous Cendol

My brother, Yikhung who is studying in Singapore came back to Penang for holiday and I had my wonderful time spent with him for the past few days but unable to do so now cause I am now back to school. Last Saturday, after fetching him from the airport, we went to Penang Road to eat the famous cendol.

Cendol, chendul, chendol, I don’t know which is the correct spelling. I don’t really care where the delicious and mouthwatering cendol comes from, but I am pretty sure that our Penang’s is uniquely awesome.

We parked our car behind Chowrasta Market and took a walk to the cendol stall.

And we saw tourist strolling along Penang Road and a weird man lying on the road. Really homeless and crazy. It’s so dangerous and take the road as a bed which is so uncomfortable. Come on homeless, get yourself wash up and get a job.

It’s really thirst quencher on a super hot weather. Icy cold dessert running down the throat to the stomach make the day fresh and happy.

Then I played with my brother new lens all along, it’s a Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 lens which is a very sharp fixed lens with wide aperture. Love it a lot.

The sun was going down on a Saturday evening and my parents brought me to Weld Quay for a dinner. Cruising along the seaside at Weld Quay was nice as it brings us to a friendlier part of Penang with all walks of life. The golden sun was setting and it’s an quiet and yet to be noisy Saturday evening.

We came to this 乡下鱼头米粉 which translated is Xiang Xia Fish Head Bee Hoon (rice noodle). As stated in their name, the famous dish is the fish head bee hoon, but there’s another famous dish and that is the tomyam noodle which I was craving for and I like.

    P1060834

I have never been to this place before but I heard many good comment about it and how spicy the tomyam noodle is. I ordered a bowl which is less spicy and no doubt, it’s really delicious, especially eating with fried fish fillet and maggi noodle. Just one thing, the maggi noodle was too little. Anyway, it’s still yummy.

  • Walk Walk at Pavilion, Fahrenheit 88 and Kelana Jaya LRT

Walk Walk at Pavilion, Fahrenheit 88 and Kelana Jaya LRT

Hello people. Still remember two weeks ago I went to Kuala Lumpur with my friends from Penang. Yes, here am I continuing my story. It was a rainy day. Pavilion and KLCC is like stone throw away but then because of the rain, we couldn’t get across the street and walk to Pavilion. That’s the problem.

We tried to wait but the rain was like getting bigger and we 7 people only had an umbrella. We hailed a taxi at KLCC and he wanted RM10. We did not get in of course. Carmen thought it was cheap. Haha. Then we asked for another taxi, and RM5 he wanted and agree to take 5 of us. That’s better. The other two, Xiu Xin and Tee Jin walked to Pavilion with an umbrella. =D

Taxi dropped us at the drop off area at the back door, saw a lot of nice car and we went to take photos. Wonder when only will I have a very powerful car valet parked at here. Haha.

Then we walk walk and walk walk. Nothing much to do at there, just walk.

Walked into Apple shop to check out stuff but don’t have iPhone 4 on display. Very jealous when seeing iPhone 4 user go and shop for accessories. >.<

I actually have something to do at Pavilion. I went to DiGi Centre to change my prepaid plan to DG Smart Plan. Now I can surf on the go, unlimited for only RM68 per month. Haha. The whole conversion process took two hours and I have to paid RM68 in advance. The phone need to have RM5 in credit balance in order to the conversion.

After using it for a few weeks, I felt that the DiG is still not better than Maxis, except the price. Cheap!

I didn’t want to eat fast food already because I had McDonald’s for afternoon tea, but since everyone was so craving for it, I joined the fun. Expensive Carl’s Junior which I only will go once in a blue moon. I have no money!

We then walk walk to Fahrenheit 88, the new mall, used to be KL Plaza and it’s pretty small inside and not very cool. Nothing much in there, many shop not yet open and what I am most excited about is Uniqlo. =D Yay. Opening somewhere in November if I am not mistaken.

Oktoberfest is here! I don’t drink, too bad.

    Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre’s toilet.

Walked back to KLCC to take the LRT back to Kelana Jaya where our cars were.

A bit sampat squatting at there, but I was just so tired.

    Arron!

Guys, from Penang and Chung Ling High School. Got Shah Alam, got Kelana Jaya, got Sepang and also me, Bandar Sunway.

Me, Arron, Carmen, Xiu Xin, Tee Jin, Pin Hoong, Jing Min. Yay.

Then good night, it’s late and tired. Penang people in KL. Haha.

  • Kelana Jaya LRT to KLCC with Penang People

Kelana Jaya LRT to KLCC with Penang People

Last weekend was an awesome, wet, tiring, reunion and fun Saturday to me. I get to go to downtown Kuala Lumpur for a walk, to see the magnificent twin towers which had become boring to me, see the gorgeous Pavilion shopping mall, the crowded but not as crowded as Singapore’s Orchard Rd’s Bukit Bintang. =D

From Bandar Sunway to Kuala Lumpur. I have found a way to get there fast, save expensive parking cost at Kuala Lumpur’s shopping mall and that is park your car or go to Kelana Jaya LRT then then the LRT straight to the city. I know people here might know it already, but there’s still from Penang still don’t know.

Haha. You need to use your Touch N’ Go to part at the LRT and you need to use the LRT service in order to have your car park fee at RM3 the whole day or else you will be charged hourly. Arron asked me why I knew about this, because I Google-d. LOL.

That day was a wet day because it’s raining on and off, cats and dogs, Tom and Jerry. Sometimes big, sometimes, small. Made going place difficult only.

That days attendee were me your blogger, Arron from Penang, Tee Jin, from Penang, Pin Hoong from Penang, Carmen from Penang, Xiu Xin from Penang, and Jing Min from Penang. OK, they are all from Penang. I don’t know what am I talking about. >.< It’s Saturday, it’s weekend and everyone took a day off from study. Some come far from Shah Alam, some come far from Damansara and the furthest was Sepang, which is 45 minutes ride from there. Woo.

I don’t know why, I have tell you before. I have something on subways and LRT. I just like riding on it. It’s fun. At here in Kuala Lumpur, there’s the KTM and LRT. KTM is nearer to me and I get free parking by parking at Carrefour carpark, but then I don’t want to use the service because of the slowness, and dirty. LRT is much more faster, frequency is like 5 minutes per train and I can go KLCC directly, though a Ringgit more expensive.

    What is this?!

I tell you LRT user, or whatever commuter user in KL, go get a Touch N Go car for your ride, save up time and make Malaysia more high tech. Utilize it, it’s not just for toll. I have one, bought from Penang and I pay for Penang Bridge for only RM5.60 instead of standard toll rate RM7.00. Special privilege.

Actually, there’s reason I go to KLCC because my lecturer asked me to go check out the HOMEDEC exhibition which is related to my studies. My friends who are not in the course were so kind to acompany me go there. You guys rocks. Thank you.

Super expensive chocolate, who can buy for me?

When we reached KLCC, we wanted to go to the KLCC, which is the convention centre but sadly it rain super heavily because there’s no shade or covered walkway or underground passes going there, do they? We didn’t know so we waited the rain to stop only then we walk there.

I don’t really know around in there, I seriously need a pro to guide me. That would be my dad, but he’s not around in Kuala Lumpur. Perhaps the next exhibition, I shall ask him along then explain each and everything to me. =) Superman dad rocks.

Bought some cheap magazine at there to do some references at home.

After KLCC HomeDec, the sky rained again! @#&%(*%)! We wanted to call the Sun come out but we didn’t have his number so in the end, we wait wait wait, then we take taxi go to Pavilion. Haha. The first taxi really shit, quoted us RM10 for just a walking distance, the next one was better, RM5, we 5 person hopped on and another 2 were under the
umbrella. Next stop, Pavilion, Bukit Bintang and go back home. ^.^

  • Region 1 Leo Club Farewell

    Region 1 Leo Club Farewell

Last last Saturday afternoon, I went to the beach to check out the Region 1 Leo Club Farewell thingy. You know, I was once a very active Leo Club member in Chung Ling High School, was a assistant treasurer and a vice president and also the web editor. But now, I am on a Leo Club hiatus mode, still looking back for the feel. One thing is that, I am still a Leo Club member for Leo Club of Penang (City). =D Pretty hard to explain what’s Leo Club, it’s get-together, have fun, and do good things.

Back to last last Saturday afternoon, I was bored at home and the Leo Club had a farewell gathering at the beach, I have nothing to do so went to check it out.

Saw them having fun with games like making sand castles and more. I was there just to pass time, see see, talk talk with some Leo friends, take photo and enjoy the breeze.

I was so not into their games at that time, no why. Hehe.

Then met Foyi’s friend, Jocelyn, Cindy, Min Xiang and Wallace. We went to dinner at Sri Ananda together then.

Fun thing about Sri Ananda is that there a people nicely dressed who greet you when you go in at the back entrance of the restaurant. We took photo with him. =D

Want join Leo Club? Join Penang (City). =D I am managing the website now.
