  • Still Moving, Still Kicking

    Still Moving, Still Kicking

Still Moving, Still Kicking – People changes from time to time, it’s hard to define one-self from the beginning or set a long-term goal for one. I prefer one to set a short term goal, achieve it and keep setting the short term till you reach something else because everything is changing day-by-day; your thoughts, your views and your perceptions on everything. That’s what ‘growing up’ means, I guess.

I am not ‘gung-ho’ in blogging like during my high school time, which I craved for the attention, at the same time enjoyed sharing content. As time goes on, laziness struck in, filled with busy work, interest diverted, or I was lacked of persistence to continue to writing. I would just say, thing’s changed. It’s 2015 and I am 23 years old, I could say a lot of things have changed, or in a better words, upgraded. Looking back in the good-ol-time and indulging in it doesn’t make things moving, I prefer making today and tomorrow better and fullest.

Well, just a simple Sunday writing that is telling myself that I am still moving and kicking hard although I’ve not been writing or social media-ing like before. That’s another way of life, yeah.

  • Chinese New Year Lighting

    Chinese New Year Lighting

Chinese New Year Lighting – Those who celebrate Christmas, they will get a Christmas tree and decorate it nicely with bells, candies, gift boxes as well as LED lighting. My family is not really a Christmas person when it comes to Christmas, our house doesn’t has a Christmas tree.

However, when it comes to Chinese New Year, we will hunt for Chinese lanterns as well as those LED lighting. Different types of lighting can be seen at almost every electrical and lighting shops in Penang. It sort of light up some part of the city too. Now you see that Chinese has their love on lighting too.

Do you decorate your home of garden with these kind of lighting?

  • Good Night – Miss Abu Maggi Mee

    Untitled

Penang people sure know about this road, Jalan Datuk Koyah which become happenings at night when Abu Mamak Stall start operating. The springy Maggi instant noodle cook in a pan fried way, serving with an omelet and deep fried chicken, it’s just interesting and mouth watering to eat at late night even that eating at late night is not a good habit.

At this moment, I misses the Maggi Goreng Ayam. HAHA. Good night. Where in KL can I find Abu-style Maggi Mee?

Feel free to read my food blog (Shiok Or Not) when you are hungry!

  • Parking And Walk To Taylor’s On Wednesday

This is quite a random post about what happened last Wednesday at Taylor’s University. Class was at in the middle of the day and I pretty hate it because of the hassle of looking for a parking spot in the campus.

Parking in university is always not a good thing as there’s so many student and cars where parking spots are not able to accommodate everyone, especially when selfish people like me don’t want to park at the paid zone. Even if I am forced to park at the paid zone, it would be full.

I parked far far away that afternoon, and took a nice walk about 400m to campus from car park. The weather was pretty cloudy and good. Wonder why it’s raining here so much, typhoon in Taiwan, hurricane in the USA and here we got the rainy days.

I wonder why the school want to collect fee for student’s parking. Why is the fee we paid isn’t able to cover a parking spot, I wonder why. It’s ok to collect money for parking fare, but at least built us a proper parking area with a good covered walkway that protect us from the shines and rain. Then I will shut my mouth up. Imagine walking to and from the car in the midst of hot sun or a rainy day.

Spotted an unknown lecturer got a surprise birthday wish from her friends. Pretty cool.

The school is getting more and more commercialize which isn’t a good way of promoting education. That’s reality, that’s fact.

One fact about Taylor’s University is that the traffic jam that occur around 4pm everyday. It’s the super big jam in campus, connecting out to the main road until the nearest traffic light. A normal good flow of traffic will takes about less than 10 minutes out but with a jam, do expect about half an hour.

I have already accepted the shity rocky parking, finding a parking spot and walking towards class. That’s my college life. HA! Blablabla.

  • Random Walkaround At Bukit Bintang Area

    Best place in Kuala Lumpur.

After residing here for a year in Klang Valley, I realised that life outside the city – the place I am staying and studying isn’t really fun when compare to the city. Klang Valley is just another normal metropolitan city, with the downtown Kuala Lumpur is fun.

I wonder why there’s no beautiful and quality university campuses located right downtown. It would be really great if there is. Haha. Life, fun and study must blends well, with a well and healthy city life. Sunway area is pretty boring for me, all the building looks the same with no colour, it’s isn’t anywhere close to the city where beautifully designed skyscrapers are.

New Apple shop is coming to town, hidden opposite of Low Yat Plaza.

Even though the skyline of Kuala Lumpur is beautiful, when comparing to my hometown Penang, I still greatly like Penang more because of the colours, the people, and the old heritage city. That’s something Kuala Lumpur doesn’t have.

I still prefer Chatime and Gong Cha despite many awesome bubble tea out there.

Penang is colourful with the old colonial styles houses, blends with a little bit of modern shopping malls and buildings. With low skyline, you can see a colourful red tiles roof. Another thing that I fancy Penang is the close-nest to the sea, water, and greens. Kuala Lumpur is just a concrete jungle within a valley with no sea but a little but of greens. That’s the biggest dislike, the nearest sea needs about 45 minutes trip, a beautiful beach needs about 1.5 hours of drive. When in Penang, beach, sea and nature are so near.

    Happy Merdeka Day Malaysia!

Anyway, home will be the best place to be after study.

  • #instagram I Am Back

Blogging on WordPress has caused me a few problems. It’s a good blogging platform when compare to the Blogspot Blogger engine, but I some times favor the Blogspot as it’s fast and easy to blog. I have been having problem with posting link and not auto-saving after updating my blog and finally I have found a solution.

Tomorrow is Friday and it’s no-school day. Gonna do assignment, and check out some good food at Sunway Pyramid and also write my blog! So stay tune and good night. It’s so late. I always try to tell myself to sleep early, but I fail, all the time. =D

By the way, do follow me on Instagram @nicholaschan. =) Have been addicted to this little application on the iPhone lately.

  • My Monday Afternoon At Starbucks, Straits Quay

    IMG_1128

Lalala. Why people like to go Starbucks to online? What if you want to go to the toilet and who are going to take care of your personal belongings? Hmm. That’s a really good question and I also don’t know how. Can’t really put trust on the barista too, they might be busy with their word and slip pass the look on your belongings.

    IMG_1122

1 cup of Starbucks Coffee Ice Blended Frapuccinno Java Chips is RM15.50. At home, 1 cup of ice blended Milo is FREE. But people still like to go Starbucks to online. It’s a trend, it’s a getaway from home, and of course, it’s preventing yourself from growing mushroom due to staying at home for a long period.

I spent my Monday afternoon at Starbucks Coffee, Straits Quay with Hueisean. =D Cold and nice music, of course, nice coffee too. It’s not something that I do oftenly.

Question: Do you go outside to online?

  • Hazy Penang And Gurney Drive

Hazy weather had intruded Penang again which ugly-fied the view of the beautiful Penang. The hazy weather have been around for a few days already. Everyday I wake up, I tried to look out the balcony to look for a clear blue sky but the haze disappointed me.

It’s not clear out there. It’s blurish. It’s not fog, it’s haze, it’s warm and it’s smelly. Industrial waste and forest burning are causing this and we can’t really do anything about it. I believe Beijing is in fact more worse than us. Haha.

Luckily, the heavy downpour which happened in the afternoon cleared the sky for some time. So, yay!

Hopefully, it’s big blue sky again so I can go out and take more photos! =D This post is so random. Haha.
