  • Malaysia’s Westports KL Dragons vs Indonesia’s Satria Muda at MABA Stadium

Malaysia’s Westports KL Dragons vs Indonesia’s Satria Muda at MABA Stadium

I never know that Malaysia has a basketball team, I never know that Asian are active in the basketball scene except China. Now I want to let you know that Malaysia has a professional basketball team and it’s not kampung style basketball. They are the Westports KL Dragons. Yeah!

Recently, I was invited to go check out a basketball game betweet Westports KL Dragons versus Satria Muda which is from Indonesia at MABA (Malaysia Basketball Association) Stadium in town, near to Stadium Merdeka there. It’s the opening game of the AirAsia Asean Basketball League. Not so familiar about it? Nevermind, now you know it, it’s cool, it’s professional, it’s happening. ASEAN countries compete with each other in the league, just like NBA, but this is ASEAN.

I have never been to a real basketball match before and this is really my golden opportunity. I drove to town with Han Teik, my housemate and also a basketball fan to check out the game and we were pretty excited because it’s our first real professional basketball match. It’s International man.

I didn’t really know where is the MABA Stadium is and luckily I have a GPS with me which lead me to my destination. It’s somewhere near Petaling Street and Stadium Merdeka. If you want to take the LRT, you can get off at Pasar Seni on KJ Line and walk there.

    Han Tek.

S.O.X. is the official telco sponsor for Westports KL Dragons. =D Rocks. If you are S.O.X. members, you can get home game ticket at 20% off, which is very cheap! Good right, buy cheap ticket and come and support Malaysia. The next game will be happening this weekend 30/10/2010 where KL Dragons fight with Brunei Barracudas. Yeah, come MABA Stadium.

Back talking about the game. The stadium was pretty cool, with air-conditioned but then it’s not like what you see on NBA where there’s big TV hanging in the middle of the stadium. I was there early and the team were training by themselves.

It’s not some lousy game, the whole stadium was filled with basketball fans. The scene was really very very cool.

    Media pass, yeah!

    Cute mascot.

You know, when I saw the players, they don’t look like typical Asian to me, they are huge!

Hot cheerleading dance by S.O.X. during half time.

The game rocks man. It was so exciting and so nervous and Malaysia KL Dragons team really amaze me a lot with all the basketball tricks and skill and dunks. Damn wonderful. Well, if you are a Malaysian, please support our very own Westports KL Dragons. And also at the same time, support the sponsor, S.O.X. =D

  • 18 Birthday to Batu Ferringhi and Hard Rock Penang During Midnight

18 Birthday to Batu Ferringhi and Hard Rock Penang During Midnight

I am talking about my birthday again. Right after having dinner at JF Western Food on my birthday, on 16th July on Friday night, we went to sit car and went around the city. It a typical night with the mind of don’t know where to go, no point of destination. We went to meet at Boo Teik house and hopped on to his Mercedes Benz and he drove us here and there. Pointless, just crapping and enjoying the beautiful city of Penang.

We went to Inti Internation College’s hostel to see Jacqueline. a friend of my good friend Chien Chern. Just to say hi and we drove off away.

Then we went downtown for a round and in the end, no idea why, and we went to Batu Ferringhi. WIthout any reason again, we went to the closed down Mutiara Hotel just for a stop, inhale some fresh air as we were so so so full after the meal at the western food there. We did not drink but we look as if we were drunk because too full, too tired, too uncomfortable and too sleepy, but we still didn’t want to go home yet.

We had a stupid plan which was going into Mutiara Hotel but unfortunately there’s security guard taking care of the abandoned hotel. Still no idea what this hotel is gonna be, no renovation work or plan is going on. It was one of the 5 stars hotel in Penang. Pretty cool but now it’s down, no idea why.

Zheng Feng and Zez Chien were not feeling so well because of car sickness along the Batu Feringghi winding road and ate too much. After getting some fresh air, they felt better and finally we decided to go home.

But before dropping me back home, we went to Hard Rock Hotel to use the toilet, it was 2am at that time and there’s no more live band. Lobby was pretty quiet. Everyone was so ready to sleep already.

Had some toilet business then we were all off. That’s it, that’s how I celebrated or how I passed by birthday. Tired, fun, happy, cool, miss. Unfortunately some friend couldn’t join me but thank you all for your wish. This year I spent most time replying Facebook wishes. I got over 200 from Facebook and I replied every single of it. Tired tired. Haha. Happy birthday to you. =D

  • 18 Birthday Celebration at JF Western Food

18 Birthday Celebration at JF Western Food

Hahahahahahahaha. My birthday is 16th July and I am 18 years old now. Now is already October it’s already 3 months late, this post is really old but I don’t care, I still want to post SOME photos and share it up with you guys and also archive it here so next time I can read again. =D

On 16th July 2010, it was a Friday, I invited a bunch of friends, got Chien Chern, Boo Teik, Yiphing, Ammerlynn, Sherreen, Zheng Feng, Zez Chien and Alvin to JF Western Food at Fettes Park to eat dinner on my treats.

    Chien Chern.

    Yiphing.

But before dinner, I asked some of them come to my place to meet up with me only then we go there together. Chien Chern and Yiphing brought presents! And I don’t want to share what’s that. LOL. Pretty cool.

Still remember that I went to NS few months back? Luckily my hair came out for my birthday, not much, but still not bald, botak.

I did not make a reservation on that place and luckily they have tables for all of us. Everyone get to order everything they like and eat all the can. You don’t wanna know how much we ate because we just ate so damn lot.

Tiger bear from Boo Teik. Really cute present. Hahaha.

    Zheng Feng a.k.a. Johnny.

    Camera shy, Sherreen and Ammerlynn.

I have two cake that night. One is from mommy and another one is from Ammerlynn. Funny thing about mommy is that she asked me whether I wanted a cake or not and I told us that “why can’t you give me a surprise?”, then she said “ok no cake for you”, but in the end bought a cake. Hahaha.

You know, after eating all the western food, our stomach was so full and bloated and we still tried very hard to finish the cake. At first, I thought of taking half of the cake home but in the end, don’t know how, we manage to finish everything. Really damn full. But then some of them didn’t feel so comfortable because of too full.

Have cake will also have cake cutting session and birthday song. I am not really a “make a wish” person because I didn’t really do it last time, but this time I made a wish, no, in fact is many wish. I am very greedy one. Haha. Hopefully my wishes goes well and will come true. =D

Sherreen and Ammerlynn! Ignore Ammerlynn. LOL.

Boo Teik, thanks for your tiger! And taking the roses from Arron to me. Haha.

    Zheng Feng.

    Alvin, long long friend.

    Yiphing, long long friend.

Zez Chien, friend friend friend. =D

    Chien Chern, buddy friend!

They love hugging the tiger actually.

Happy birthday to me, happy 18 years old, happy happy everyday to you and to me. =)

p/s: Thank you Arron for you roses.
pp/s: Thank you everyone for your wishes last time. =D

  • Cheras Taman Connaught Pasar Malam on Wedesday Night

Cheras Taman Connaught Pasar Malam on Wedesday Night

Pasar malam is night market. I am a pasar malam fan because when I was in Penang, I often go to the pasar malam to look for cheap street food and just walk around for fun among the crowds. It’s nice. After coming to Kuala Lumpur, I haven’t really get to know all the night market. So far, I have been to one at SS2 on Monday and this is another one on Wednesday, the Cheras Taman Connaught pasar malam.

According to my KL friend, this pasar malam is the longest in KL and is about 1.5km long. Wow. This is what it attracts me and I thought there would be selling lots of stuff. Unfortunately, from Sunway to Cheras is like 20 minutes drive away, it’s kinda far.

So on a fine Wednesday night, I decided to make a visit to the night market, navigate through a GPS and a half-local KL people. Haha. Zhi Sheng was the half-local KL people who actually brought me to the wrong road, and turned out I still have to look for Google Maps because Taman Connaught pasar malam POI is not in the GPS list. In the end, we found our way, just navigate to Giant Taman Connaught or UCSI then you can find the pasar malam already.

I was pretty excited when I see the stalls and people flowing here and there. Road was jam and looking for parking was kinda difficult. Try to park at UCSI there and walk to the pasar malam, there’s plenty of parking at UCSI.

We started our journey through the long pasar malam. I was with my classmate Zhi Sheng and my housemate Wei Ding. My classmate girls were there too, just that we went there by two cars. Funny thing was they went out earlier from uni than us but then we arrived earlier. They were lost too.

What’s so fun about pasar malam is that you can buy cheap cheap street food like fish balls, satay and stuff then can eat and shop at the same time. This is really fun. But then keep buying little street food is rather expensive when you total them up. I didn’t care because I don’t always get to go to pasar malam. Surprise to see that the food there are so much different from the pasar malam in Penang.

They love fermented beancurd or simply known as smelly toufu here which something that couldn’t find in Penang. Really smelly.

Tako balls! Not so awesome though.

You can actually see a lot of college students at there because the pasar malam is just beside UCSI university. The place makes me feel lively and a bit like home, just different is that the people here speaks Cantonese instead of Hokkien at home.

We walk walk walk. One different thing again is that they do sell pirated DVD and books at pasar malam which you will not see in the pasar malam in Penang island. In the island only, all the pasar malam don’t sell pirated DVD, which is pretty cool. Haha.

Famous Alisan Taiwanese Chicken Chop, Penang also have.

    This is wonderful.

So have you been wondering what stalls do they have on this very long 1.5km pasar malam? Well, to be honest, most of the stalls are repeating. You will see the same logo, same price, same food every few hundred meters. Really funny. They are just selling the same thing but doubling or trippling their own stall only to make the pasar malam long. Very clever indeed.

Lok lok here is damn expensive man.

Then surprisingly, in the middle of the pasar malam, I met up with the girls, they were coming from the other side and we were walking on the opposite direction. Cool.

I didn’t really eat a proper meal. My dinner was keep buying fish ball, sausage, satay to eat. All the little little food.

The weather was that nice that night. It rained, but we were hot and sweating and thanks to the light rain, cooled us up. However, the rain get bigger later. Haha.

Rain big big and we went home. The pasar malam is real long and hopefully got chance go again but not anytime soon cause go there is money wasting, far and eat a lot. Haha.

  • Snowflake Taiwanese Dessert At SS15 Is Wonderful

Snowflake Taiwanese Dessert At SS15 Is Wonderful

Victor and Yong Xiang introduced me about this Snowflake Taiwanese Dessert cafe at SS15, just right opposite of the famous-to-student Asia Cafe. By hearing the name, I thought it was just some typical snowy type dessert. In fact, it’s not what I was expected and it’s something that I come across for the first time.

Located right opposite of Asia Cafe on the first floor, so you might need to look up to spot the cafe when you pass by that place.

It was Thursday night and it’s already 1030pm, but then the crowds kept coming in and the queue was pretty long. Whole house was filled with people and I started wondering what’s so awesome about this Snowflake. So I made my way through the line and ordered my very first Snowflakes Special Hot, I was have a fly at that time.

After ordering my dessert, I was given a round gadget thing which they called it the Beeping UFO. Makes me felt so Star Wars or Star Trek and it’s pretty cool. I took the thing to my table to wait for my command from the spaceship captain.

After 5-10 minutes of waiting, it blinked and vibrated. I knew that I was ready to go to my spaceship.

So here’s what I ordered, you see nothing right? It’s actually grass jelly with peanut and taroballs. You will think, “what?! grassjelly?” I tell you, the grass jelly is different from what you order out there, it’s, just special. And the taroballs is something chewy and nice to put inside my mouth. I have no idea how to describe it. Although I ordered a hot one, but then it came out warm which didn’t burn my tongue or throat and turned out nice.

I recommend this place. =D Too bad they didn’t offer WiFi at there, else I would be sitting at there all night long surfing the net and blog more already.

They have another outlet at Pavilion too. So in case you are far from SS15, Subang Jaya, you can check out the one in Pavilion. =)

  • Puchong Fatt Kee Chinese Mixed Rice

Puchong Fatt Kee Chinese Mixed Rice

The place I am living right now is so close to Puchong but then I don’t always go there to eat in fact, I don’t because I am selfish and I don’t want to pay for the toll RM1.60 for the LDP highway. Haha. It’s so close if to and fro will be RM3.20 already. Last Thursday, I accidentally went to a wrong way and end up passing the toll after school. I don’t want to waste my toll paid although it’s just little so I went to have lunch at Puchong. Haha.

My friend, Zhi Sheng who is a local here introduced me to this Fatt Kee Mixed Rice cafe, somewhere just right opposite Tesco Puchong. Last time, this kind of mixed rice, people call it economy rice because it was cheap, later then they changed the name from economy rice to mixed rice because it’s not cheap now. I look at the number of dish and surprise to see that there’s more than 20 dishes and it’s pretty interesting.

I took bitterguard, pork, petai and another kind of pork and salted vegetable and guess how much it cost? RM5. It’s confirm cheaper than here in my campus which would probably be RM6-7 already.

  • Went To Petaling Street Last Sunday

Went To Petaling Street Last Sunday

I think I may have been to Petaling Street when I was very very small, just only a little bit of memories but still can’t recall when was it then I’ve been there. So last Sunday, I drove to town with my housemate, Han Tek to check out a basketball match between Malaysia’s KL Dragons and Indonesia’s Satria Muda. The match was awesome and it’s at the MABA Stadium which is quite near to Petaling Street.

So after the match, we walked to Petaling Street from the stadium to eat my dinner. I am surprised by the heritage old looked shop houses and area. It makes me feel a bit like home because they are cool and Penang is a heritage city as you all know.

The Petaling Street is covered with a roof to prevent rain from coming in but unfortunately, walking there was not a pleasure because the walkway is so narrow. The place is famous for selling imitation stuff and most of the stalls are operated by foreign workers. Very weird of this. Being in a Chinatown but not much Chinese selling stuff at there nowadays.

Went to the famous Tai Lok Mee or they call it Hokkien Mee here for dinner.

After that went back home without using a GPS because GPS couldn’t work that time. Luckily, I found my way back to Federal Highway. Then I found out that Kuala Lumpur and Bandar Sunway is actually quite near, IMO. =D

Tips: You can take LRT to Pasar Seni station and walk there. It’s pretty near.

  • A Monday In Taylor’s University and Street Market

A Monday In Taylor’s University and Street Market

Here’s another update about my university life. My typical Monday’s class is English class from 10-12 and Introduction to Design class from 1-3.

It’s all 2 hours class and I pretty dislike English class because it made me feel like going back to high school. Not saying that I hate high school, I love it a lot, it just that I don’t like going to English lesson again. Haha. Ok, my English sucks by the way, especially on the grammar part and word usage. Anyway, I can read and write. =)

Uni is pretty happenings this week as there’s something like street market, selling cloths, food, game stall and stuff. I have no idea what even has going on and we just keep calling it the “pasar pagi” or morning market.

    Kebab!

I saw a booth where there’s many replica made out of recyclable item like newspaper and stuff. It seems very cool and I thought they were selling it.

But actually it’s some sort of model search, or they call it as G&H Faces Search. Free photo taking with any frame there and get a free print and magazine of Faces. Then you will be part of the search. =D

    Mine, Zhiinn’s and Lai Quen’s. =D

I was not really interested in the search, but what I more interested was getting the free print of my photo. Haha. That’s all.

Wesley from Seremban, Steve from Pahang. I call them Shuai Shuai. Haha.

Then I went to Student Life Centre, a place where students hang out or relax, there’s board game there, piano, pool, guitar, foosball, and I played Chinese chess with Wesley and Steve. Haven’t play it for quite some times already. Fun indeed!

  • Building Materials x Golf

    Building Materials x Golf

Hello people, I don’t know why I am sharing about Building Materials class again. You think I very like the class? Haha. So-so only. I like drawing and design class more. =D

It was a tutorial class. Tutorial about our project so it was free time and we have got nothing to do at there in the class and it was cold. Talk, talk, talk only.

    Vincent from Vietnam.

    Pui Wooi from Sabah.

Then suddenly, Wesley took a paper trash ball, and a T square then started acting like playing golf. LOL.

    HAHAHA.
