  • Singapore: Nice Pancake At Hoshino Coffee, Plaza Singapura

Singapore: Nice Pancake At Hoshino Coffee, Plaza Singapura

Singapore: Nice Pancake At Hoshino Coffee, Plaza Singapura – What to do after a tiring walk in the mall? Of course it’s take a break, sit down for a high-tea with some nice beverage and light bites. Mom and I came across of this Hoshino Coffee at new wing of Plaza Singapura and we went to have our feet rest.

The wait was not fancy because it took about 15 minutes for us to get a place. The queue was long and people in the didn’t really seems want to get out of their comfy seat. Anyway, skip the rambling on the queue thingy and let’s get into food.

It’s a Japanese brand cafe serving pancake, some desserts and also pasta too! So wanted to try them all but my stomach was pretty full over the lunch. I ordered their recommended Scuffle Pancake With Chocolate Banana and Softee (another option instead of softee is cream) at S$13.

And then we also ordered a cup of in-house special Hoshino Hot Coffee at S$5.

The coffee, the fragrance very nice, the taste very smooth. Not a very coffee guy I am, but I still like it.
    Nicely presented pancake.

Overall, it was a good resting place for us. The pancake was nice, pretty sweet and the warm pancake serve with softee ice cream and chcolate banana and a little bit of honey was just delicious for me. Yums. By the way, it’s my first time eating such pancake. Haha.

  • Sunrise: Good Morning Singapore Straits From Marina Bay Sands

Sunrise: Good Morning Singapore Straits From Marina Bay Sands

Sunrise: Good Morning Singapore Straits From Marina Bay Sands – The hotel room at Marina Bay Sands has a good view of the Singapore Straits and you need not be surprise with all the ships parking in the middle of the sea. Come on, this is Singapore, one of the busiest port in the world. Guess that breaks the beauty of the straits. Anyway, you can get a good view of sunrise from here but then the weather has been naughty. There’s no clear blue sky, a little bit of cloudy, and here’s what I’ve got.

    Overlooking Gardens By The Bay.
    Ships and the shy Sun.

At least it’s better than the second day which I got nothing because of rain and I am pretty happy that I’ve got the photos! Yay. Lovely, still, right?

  • Singapore: Day 1 At The Marina Bay Sands Resort

Singapore: Day 1 At The Marina Bay Sands Resort

Singapore: Day 1 At The Marina Bay Sands Resort – Singapore, oh Singapore, it’s like my another home now. I was there like 2 months ago! And now I am there again. It’s my fourth time in Singapore for this year and in my mind, Singapore is just another part of Malaysia. HAHA.

Entertainment on the Aeroline coach. I guess I almost finish all the movie available.

I was very excited to go Singapore this time because my exam is over, I have no stress of assignment and the best part is to swim at one of the awesome-mest and tallest swimming pool in the world (at 57th floor of Marina Bay Sands Resort Singapore).

The trip to Singapore via a comfortable coach was tiring and long because of the freaking delayed at the immigration. Upon arriving at Harbour Front at 4pm, it took several change of subway to reach the Bayfront station (Harbour Front >Outram Park Interchange > Raffles Place Interchange > Marina Bay Interchange > Bayfront). Luckily, my brother guided me or else I will be spending extra time looking at the maps.

Interesting decor hanging at the atrium.
    Marina Bay Sands.
The view from the hotel room. Lots of vessels on the Singapore straits.

Parents were there earlier already, dropped my luggage and first thing was to eat to cure my freaking hungry stomach. My first meal was on the bus, the second meal is at the Rasa Pura food court of Marina Bay Sands, after meal and it’s swim time! This one was fun because this was long-waited for me. Visitors have to pay S$20 to visit and you can’t go to the swimming pool!

It was windy, chilly and I have no idea where the sun was. A toe into the water brings a series of chill up to my body. A quick dip into the water send of a shivering all over me and after a while, I got comfortable. It’s 57th floor and no doubt that it’s windy up there. The view was just magnificent, it’s crowded with kids, babes, uncles, and aunties, it’s so different from the busy city life of Singapore’s CBD, this is call resort.

Pepper Lunch, the same thing I ate when I was a t Rasa Pura 2 months back. =.=
    Brother.
Singapore, same shot everytime. This time with a proper camera, my Canon 60D.

Just a quick dip into the water then went to Rasa Pura again for dinner, nothing much cheap in MBS and that’s why the food court again. Window shop around Marina Bay Sands, visited the Louis Vuitton again, take photos of the Singapore’s city scape again (I’ve been doing the same thing everytime I go to Marina Bay Sands), and then I went to the swimming pool again with my brother, (again).

    Ze swimming pool at night.

Night time was fun because of the awesome night view, but it’s even colder than evening. I wonder why there’s no heater in the pool, perhaps to shoooo people away from it I guess.

Pool closes at 11pm and we went back to the hotel room to call it a day.

  • Being “Gung-Ho”!

    Being “Gung-Ho”!

Being “Gung-Ho”! – I’ve been totally hiatus for one month and the last time I was on this block was 6th November 2012. Well guys, I’m glad to say, I am alive, doing good, listening to some soft jazz music at this wee hour and feeling relax, chill and a little bit of sleepy.

#1. Midnight at studio, movie + work + laughter with the crazy friends from the senior class.
#2. When thing get stress up, it’s time to pump up some much, and put your hands up while you are sitting.
#3. Basically, this is one of my workspace, at 4am.
#5. I went home for like 5am everyday for almost a week. Sleep till the noon and get the work adrenalin pumping again. Somehow, productivity gets faster when due is coming up. Haha.

Life have been exciting and hectic before and my long 3 months and 2 weeks of holiday has just started. The past month was like a war, being “Gung-Ho” for my interior design project in university and it was to design an office. Well, it’s fun, lack of sleep, heart pounding fast every day as time shorten and got closer to the submission and final presentation. I was like spending 2 weeks at night in the campus too and my body timezone became GMT-8. =D I am kind of perfectionist, and that’s why, I stressed up my own-self. Not to the extend of 100% perfect, but at least 90%, perhaps.

Talking about “Gung-Ho”, it’s such a cute word that my friend Tee Jin in the UK commented on my Facebook wall. It got curious as the word doesn’t seems hokkien, or Mandarin to me, it does sounds Asian, but I’ve no idea what is it about. After some Googling around, it means — 1:Incredibly enthusiastic, zealous and dedicated // via UrbanDictionary. LOL. I still don’t really get it, a word borrowed from the Chinese by the U.S. Navy in the 1950s, and it somehow became a slang meaning of very enthusiastic. O.O. You may read more on Wikipedia.

#6. Study, legs up, that’s my way.

I am getting “Gung-Ho” of interior design of course, that’s the way life work isn’t it? Get interested, enthusiast in what you are doing, embrace it. Yeah.

So, let’s get this blog moving again and be “Gung-Ho” in what you are doing now.

  • Kampar: UTAR Grand Hall Has A Cool Chinese Architecture

Kampar: UTAR Grand Hall Has A Cool Chinese Architecture

Kampar: UTAR Grand Hall Has A Cool Chinese Architecture – Visited UTAR (Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman) at Kampar a week ago and found out that there’s a cool building in the campus – the Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik Grand Hall. It has a super duper Chinese-orientated architecture design like those Chinese temple roof, red bricks, water features which makes you feel as if you are in China, minus the cold.

The grand hall that looks like a Chinese temple from far. LOL, that’s why most UTAR friends told me.
The street lamp, beautiful Chinese pattern.
    Love red bricks a lot.
A bit of contemporary design here at the lobby.
Semi-circular rounder arch entrance to the hall.

This is something different and awesome when comparing to my school – Taylor’s University which has a modern minimalist design.

Check out the water features too. Must be something to do with feng shui, I guess.
    Chinese words on the water.
    Chinese word as sculpture.
There’s fishes in case you don’t know.

UTAR, a very famous university among the Chinese-educated group of people, and founded by the MCA (=.=), guess this explains the very-ching-chong-Chinese design of this building. Anyway, I kinda like things like this, at least it stand outs among the many universities in Malaysia. Which campus has special architecture design? Do share with me, down below. =D

  • Sunset: Singapore City

    Sunset: Singapore City

Sunset: Singapore City – Travelled light and did not bit any big camera with me, the Panasonic Lumix LX5 is still bulky to fit into my jeans pocket so I only had a Samsung Galaxy S2 with me when I was in Singapore. So yeah, I found out that from Marina Bay Sands Boardwalk, you can get a little view of sun setting into the skyline of Singapore City. So yeah, again, the effect is kinda cool, when there’s blue sky and nice twilight.

  • Singapore: Ippudo Ramen, Mandarin Gallery

    Singapore: Ippudo Ramen, Mandarin Gallery

    Yeah, the shop front.

Singapore: Ippudo Ramen, Mandarin Gallery – This ramen is a bomb! Not the price, but the taste! It’s better than a lot ramen I had in Kuala Lumpur, or Penang. I don’t think Penang has good ramen, maybe Kuala Lumpur. Located at Mandarin Gallery, Orchard Road is this Ippudo Ramen restaurant. Upon arriving, I already see a long queue outside the restaurant waiting to be seated.

    The queue. So hungry wheyyyyyy.
The interiors, not really a big restaurant.

Well, it took us about like 20 minutes to be seated and we ordered right away. Brother did the ordering for me as he went there a few times. The place is not an ideal for chit-chating as it’s quite noisy and has some music playing on which the it’s not those soft and sentimental music.

I am so sorry for forgetting about the food name, but please allow the pictures speak for it. =)

    Appetizer: Cucumber!
Appetizer 2: Curry toufu with dry noodle. This one is very yummy, it’s curry powder sauce.
The ramen, special soup, with tamago, cha shu pork, garlic, and lard. The soup is simply awesome but it seems like there’s a lot MSG which makes me thirst after that.

Do you like ramen? Come share your favourite place for ramen.

  • Singapore: DBS Sailing By Marina Bay & Eason Chen’s DUO Concert

Singapore: DBS Sailing By Marina Bay & Eason Chen’s DUO Concert

Space ship hotel and casino – Marina Bay Sands.

Singapore: DBS Sailing By Marina Bay & Eason Chen’s DUO Concert – Two weeks ago, I went to Singapore to check out…….. the Eason Chen’s DUO Concert! It’s the second time Eason Chen had the DUO Concert in Singapore, DUO Concert have been running for two years already, I guess Eason still haven’t earn enough $$ from it. O.o

    The sail with DBS logo.

    Brother and his lovely girlfriend.
    Brotherhood! =D

So Singapore, I came again! Something special for me this time because I went on on a sail ride on the water of Marina Bay! It’s fun because not many get a chance to sail on the bay and really need to thanks my brother’s girlfriend who is an employee for DBS Bank. It’s a special sailing event for DBS staffs and their family and friends only, so here we were on the sail. It was pretty windy that evening, so the sailing was pretty fast and fun.

    Ticket collection.
    Storm coming!
    Me… Haha.
    Waiting for Eason.

Unfortunately, storm came and we had to go back on shore quickly. We could heard Eason doing his rehearsal by the bay! Free songs before the concert started. Storm came and thunder rumblings around the sky of Singapore, heavy raining of cats and dogs from the heaven, it postponed the concert. Sucks. It’s a rain or shine event, located right outside of Marina Bay Sands, the stage overlooks the Singapore city but my free standing area was not favouring. Sucks again.

    Woooo, Ahhhh, Yooo, EASOOONN.

Rain or shine, it supposed to start at 8pm, but no idea what the event organizer was doing and delayed till 9++pm, queued an hour of it and that’s really bad. Eason came and started singing, some funny interaction between him and us, but then I saw the crowds at there were like not really high at all, feel sad for them lo. I heard that many of the people who came got free tickets from the casino as a reward, I wonder do they know who is Eason Chen or not. LOL.

After all, it was just OK-good concert to me, not because of the rain, but the crowds and the standing location, not forget to mention the event organizer too, lousy. Forget about it, I met Eason, and I sailed on the Marina Bay, the trip was good.

    ………………………………….So, yeah.

  • Racing Against Time To Complete College Projects & Random Updates

Racing Against Time To Complete College Projects & Random Updates

Watching TVB and designing at the same time.

Racing Against Time To Complete College Projects & Random Updates – A little bit update about myself is that I am now racing against time because the end of semester is coming, which means that it’s final exam, final presentation, final project submissions and dues for many assignments. It’s pretty exciting for me because I am like sleeping less and less, trying to squeeze out as much extra time as possible to for me to complete in time.

    New IKEA chair – Fingal.

Some friend complained about ‘stress-lah’, stress this and that. Hmm. At this moment, I still feel nothing about it, still very OK with my work. Stress is something that force you to do something you don’t like, and that’s stress. So, enjoy you work, play with the time, accept a little of the dislike and soon it will be over.

Must sleep now as I slept for like 3.5 hours yesterday at 6am! Woooooo. Life of an interior design student.

    Some other random updates:

NAJIB, no it’s the car plate NAJ113 which arranged like the word – NAJIB. In case you do not know who is Najib, he’s our fat Prime Minister. Yeah, 1Malaysia. Wonder who is so sampat, so obsessed with the name.

Met Dr Eric Leong, the Raja Hias – Design King of Malaysia at the UK Education Fair last week. He’s really a funny person and chat a bit with him. He introduces me to Teesside University, anyone heard of it before? By the way, congrats him on his doctorate of art.
Bought a work chair for my room! My old plastic chair was broken and this chair is so much comfortable than the normal chair. See the above second picture and you will see the chair.
