Farewell for Liang Sun Who Goes To National Service

Liang Sun, a friend, a classmate of mine has went to the National Service for 3 months, he departed today to the camp at Sungai Bakap in Bukit Mertajam. He will be gone for 3 months and they had farewell dinner for him at Queensbay the night before.

    IMG_3449 by nicholaschan.

To tell you guys a secret, I have been chosen for National Service too, but then I am not allocated in the first batch and I don’t know is there will be any circumstances preventing me to go for the National Service or not. I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know.

    IMG_3422 by nicholaschan.

I had my dinner before I went to Queensbay Mall because I know all the restaurant in Queensbay Malll are not budget restaurant and I am on tight budget recently because of jobless and less allowance and no schooling.

So basically it’s just everyone come out together, they eat, we talk and I take photos. =) Nothing much, just to say bye bye. I can’t imagine if I leave my friends and family, it will be very very very the sad I guess.

  • Red Box Karaoke Right After Last Paper of SPM 2009

Red Box Karaoke Right After Last Paper of SPM 2009

Yes yes, it’s again, we went to Red Box karaoke after the last paper of SPM examination of 2009. That’s what I usually do after finishing a school examination. This is a very standard stuff and why Red Box? Because in Penang, there’s only Red Box karaoke and I just get to know that Neway Karaoke will be opening soon at Queensbay Mall soon.

    IMG_0457 by nicholaschan.

Jing Min playing with the Red Box people.

Our Chinese paper finished at 12.45pm that day, I went home to bath and got ready, then to Red Box with everyone. We were not the first SPM finisher, because fifth former who didn’t take Chinese paper had finished their SPM earlier.

It’s not only us that went to Red Box, many people went there too on that day and I believe most of them are same like me, just finished their SPM, taking a break.

It’s not too many people in the room, it’s too many people came to Red Box on that day, people came in and our, “hi and bye”, very hard to communicate and interact with everyone.

Most important are still did I sing or not? Yes I did and enjoyed the singing, a lot. The Penang’s Plurkers had a room there too, I went there to say hi, sang a few songs and went back to my place. Hard to be at multiplace. I wish I can divide my body. Haha.

Christmas Celebrationg for the Elderly at Rumah Charis

I am kind of back to Leo Club activities after being hiatus for many many months because of very stressful SPM examination. Although I’ve been retired from the post of First Vice President of the club, yet I still enjoy their activities and outings.

    IMG_1716 by nicholaschan.

    Boon Yan, the co-organizer.

I was in the Leo Club of Chung Ling High School, my name is still in their name list and I will be moving to a new Leo Club which is for those above 18 years old. Anyhow, I still like my old Leo Club of Chung Ling High School, all of the juniors are friendly and funny.

Talking back about the recent activity that happened on the Christmas week, the Leo Clubs organized a Christmas visit to an old folks home far away in Relau, the name is Rumah Charis.

    IMG_1720 by nicholaschan.

I went there once early last last year but that time was on a chartered bus and this time I was on my own. I tried to Google Maps the place but I can’t find it. So with a little image left in my mind, I tried to feel my way around when I am at Relau. It’s actually not very hard to go afterall and the Google Maps need to be updated.

Christmas Charity Concert at Auto City

    IMG_1604 by nicholaschan.

2 days before Christmas, I went to Auto City at night to support the Leo Club of Penang Chinese Girls High School on their Christmas Charity Concert. It’s my first time driving to the mainland across the Penang bridge then on highway for 5 minutes to reach Auto City, it’s fun. For all the while, I only drive in the island. From the island to Auto City is very near only actually, it’s approximately 30-35 minutes drive from my place at Gurney Drive.

This concert is a charity one, admission was free and they were raising fund for an orphanage home in Butterworth. The kids were there to see the concert too. The fund was raised by donation and the selling of some items like keychains, christmas hat, t-shirts and other little stuff. Since I am Leo Club member, I did help out a bit on the sales too.

    IMG_1556 by nicholaschan.

There’s chair in front of the stage and good to see most of the chairs were filled up. The fun thing about the chair is that it’s not normal chair, it’s beach chair, chairs that normally use on the beach which is nice for lying down. It’s so relaxing for the people down there who got a seat.

Christmas Eve Potluck at Boon Yan’s Apartment

Thinking back for Christmas’ Eve in 2008, I was having steamboat with Leo Club’s friend and in 2009’s Christmas’ Eve, I went to Boon Yan’s house for potluck dinner and they are also my Leo Club’s friend, with a few extra of my friends followed along and they were Arron, Chien Chern, Zez Chien, Chen Yuan and Ammerlynn. • Happy 2010!

    Happy 2010!

    IMG_2526-234 by nicholaschan

Still remember last year’s this time, I was in Guangzhou, lying on the comfy hotel bed, watching the fireworks of Hong Kong from the little LCD screen in the hotel. The outside temperature was around 11 degree celcius, I finished walking on Shang Xia Jiu Pedestrian Street and it’s so not-happenings in Guangzhou, they don’t countdown for new year.

I just came back from outside, this post was supposed to be scheduled automatic post but somehow something wrong with the server, so I repost it now. Went to see fireworks and ate supper and it’s a tiring yet funny day. Gonna think for new year’s resolution when I wake up later in the morning or noon, then plan my new year ahead when I am free. 2009 was awesome, 2010 I’m sure will be and I wanted it to be!

  • Leo Forum 09:Moving Forward Banquet Night

Last year’s Leo Forum’s banquet night theme was Black and White and this year it was just Banquet Night and I didn’t since when it’s called Moving Forward with a gold and silver theme until I was told when I arrived at the venue which was the Sunshine Banquet Hall. They gave us silver and golden star to be paste on the shirt or anywhere that can be seen but somehow, people took it off after some times.

I was not really fancy that night, very simple. A shirt and a tie and that’s me. Wanted to get a blazer before the event but didn’t really have a time to go and custom made one. I got a a tiny body so it’s not easy to look for one that suit me in the shops.

The meal was better than the night before because it’s not self service buffet, buffet is not fun because I hate queuing up for food and moreover there’s so many delegates. To be honest, I didn’t really eat much for this course dinner. One reason was the time interval between food was very long and I was so tired during that time as I just slept for like 3 hours the night before.

    IMG_5105 by you.

    IMG_5108 by you.

It’s a little bit stupid to see people moving around with the “Silent Please” sign, it’s just too noisy in the hall. One reason was, the food was not served early. Haha.

    IMG_5113 by you.

We sat really very very far from the stage and there’s not much entertainment going on that night. It was the top award giving ceremony. I got a Outstanding Vice President award in the afternoon on the same day and was hoping for a Top Vice President award but it went to someone else in Kuala Lumpur. Though, our club did got a Top Tresurer Award and that’s Jin Jie. =)

Food was not really important for that night as well as entertainment too. Award giving ceremony was already over and nothing much to be concern except moving around for photos. It’s the last night and need to take more photos for memories.

Photos speak for now, it’s just like a photograph night.

  • Live Dewan Rakyat / Malaysia Parliament

Today is the first day of the Dewan Rakyat or Malaysia Parliament debate in Parliament. After the General Election in March, I am getting more interested in political issues because I want the best Malaysia but of course I won’t join any party party in the future. =D Just to improve my general knowledge knowing this stuff. School don’t allow teacher to discuss politics so many people don’t know about it. We knew those stuff from the paper and Internet.

Still remember the ex CM of Penang says that Don’t Trust Blogger, but now everyone is blogging. Jeff Ooi, first blogger to be in the parliament, from a normal blogger to a real politician, salute.

Cut the crap. Since today is the first parliament debate of the new parliament formed, new Information Minister said that there will be 30 minutes of Live Telebroadcast from the Parliament in the morning. I am quite interest in watching it as you can see the opposition shouting and pointing at the Barisan National and vice versa. You shoot me, I shoot back you. Since I was in school, I got no chance in watching it, though I had found a short clip on the net, so I’ll share with you.

“Very disappointing,” Information Minister Ahmad Shabery Cheek said when asked about the conduct in the House on the first day of the proceedings of the 12th session.

“We will reconsider whether the ‘live’ telecast should be continued because, right on the first day, it was grossly abused by the MPs,” he said.

Now the Info Minister said that he will review this live broadcast again. Boo. Want to watch the next live parliament, but don’t know got the chance or not.

    Live today :

  • Bagman (Caseman) Messenger Bag / 6 Million Dollar Home Clone

2.05pm, school dismissed. I went to Grandma’s house for lunch. Had a delicious lunch after that, I went to the camera shop with mom in KOMTAR. =) Did a little shopping and I got myself a new camera bag. Yay!

    Bagman

It’s the Bagman (also known as Caseman) Messenger Camera Bag. It replaced my RM50 camera bag. This is a real camera bag as it padded nicely inside. Fits all my gear too!

    Bagman

It looks exactly the same as the Crumpler’s 6 Million Dollar Home but less 1 compartment and that is the one for people to put magazines. Since I only keep my camera and portable media player, so I don’t need it. I still have space for a water bottle inside too.

    101_9345

Sky blue padding inside. Removable padding and hard enough for protection. Rain proof on the outside as it is claimed.

I got this for RM150. Which is around RM100 cheaper than the Crumpler 6 Million Dollar Home.

A picture of 6 Million Dollar Home, by RippyZ. Isn’t it look just the same? Only different logo. =D

    Lowepro

In addition, I bought 2 Lowepro Lens Case. People will ask since I got a camera bag already, why still get a lens case? FYI, I got a lot of bags at home, from messenger to backpack, so sometimes when I take those bag out, I can have the lens case with me to protect my lens.

So when attending functions or event, this Bagman Messenger Bag is good with me as I can change my lens quickly and keep all my gear and accessories.

All these in total still not even reach the price of 7 Million Dollar Homes which I wanted to get last time. Cheer!

I just love clean table, table with nothing except my monitor ! =)
