  • Midnight In The Hotel Room

    Untitled

I am still not asleep when everyone as has already fall asleep. I am spending my own sweet time in front of the computer. The night is not really young right now and I want to get into the dreamland soon. I wonder what I will dream of tonight, or maybe just a dream that I will forget upon waking up. I dreamed about stock market and security last night which was pretty weird, and cool.

I look around, it’s a pitch black darkness, it’s only the computer that is shining my sight at this moment. Good night my fellow friends, and how was your Malaysia Day people? Happy weekends!

  • Happy Malaysia Day To Everyone

    IMG_3406 copy

Today is September 16th, I hope it’s not too late and I would like to wish you all have a super duper Happy Malaysia Day! It’s a public holiday, enjoy your weekend and love your country. I love my country so much! You know, Malaysia get independence 31st August 1957 and the real Malaysia was form with the combination of Sabah and Sarawak on 16th September 1963. Woohoo! Despite not being the first world country, I still support and like it a lot.

  • Colourless Thursday In Taylor’s University

Happy Malaysia Day my fellow friends! Woohoo! Finally, after so many years that this day get recognized.

Thursday was no good to me. I got emotional, there’s many thought went through my mind, I just kept thinking that I was doing not so well in studies and I tell myself I must try my best and work hard. I am really bad in hand or manual drawing, give me a computer and a mouse, I rather use the computer then use the hand.

Haha, you might be thinking why I choose interior design despite not good at drawing. I wonder is it necessary? It’s a creative subject, it uses the mind more than hand in my opinion.

I realised that there’s many good “drawer” or artist in the class which makes me feel lousy. Though, I feel good now, I told myself, I must work hard to be better and the best. I feel better now after taking photos in black and white. Woohoo.

Thursday is always a tiring day for me because class is from 8am to 7pm with only just an hour of break at noon for lunch. The study hour is even longer than a working person. Haha, I seriously think that they should reedit the timetable again. Computer Aided Design, Moral Eduation, Design Studio and lastly Building Construction.

  • Changkat Bukit Bintang And KL Tower At Night

Changkat Bukit Bintang And KL Tower At Night

Changkat Bukit Bintang And KL Tower At Night – Kuala Lumpur is an awesome place to explore, it’s a very happening place during the weekend, especially at night. When night falls, all the night animal comes out from their zoo to the city, to eat, to explore, to hunt and to party.

One fine Saturday night, I went to town – Kuala Lumpur with my Penang friend, for fun, and to find chicken wings to eat on Jalan Alor.

It’s not an quiet Saturday night, but rather noisy, happenings, with traffic jam on the road, people all around the food stalls area and city lights shining up the night skyline.

We went to Jalan Alor first to look for the famous roasted chicken wings that I have always heard which I never get to try, however I am proud to say, I have tried it and will show you the photo of the roasted chicken wing in the next post. =D

On a Saturday night, it’s not really easy to find a parking around town. Illegal parking fee collector collect as much as RM10 or more for parking. We went to a few parking which is at RM7 rate, but we insisted not to park and wanted to find something cheaper, and lastly, we found RM5, that’s right beside the road, still dangerous and will be fined if there’s traffic police. I wonder do traffic police works at night or not?

Jalan Alor is really happening, it’s like Hong Kong’s Temple Street, but what’s making me not pleasant is that many foreign worker from Myammar, Nepal, China and others working here, touting customer to their restaurant.

Later then, we went to check out Changkat Bukit Bintang, the famous street full of pubs and restaurants. I didn’t know about this place at first, only until I read about it on Lonely Planet travel guide. It was my first time visiting the street. Do you know that there’s gay pub here? HAHAHA, I am not gay by the way, just sharing out with you guys.

It’s really happenings that every pubs and restaurant were full of people in the middle of the night, I wonder where they came from. It’s just like Clarke Quay in Singapore or Lan Kwai Fong in Hong Kong.

Changkat Bukit Bintang And KL Tower At Night

We ended our trip with a visit to the bottom of KL Tower. =D

  • Short Short Trip To Cherok Tokun Recreational Forest, Bukit Mertajam

Hello people. How are you? Malaysia’s Day ahead, Happy Malaysia Day! Woohoo.

So back in Penang few weeks back, I went to Cherok Tokun, the famous recreational forest at Bukit Mertajam. It’s a really very very very very short trip. It’s not 5 minutes, but I guess about 15 minutes, include using the toilet and buying food.

I was actually curious about this place and have heard about it from friends and Internet, and I wanted to know how it looks like and how to go, so I went to check it out the place with Hueisean as my guide to the place.

It’s pretty easy to go and you probably can find it with a GPS. I don’t really know how to write the guide here. So sorry.

The place is in fact similar to Botanical Garden in Penang, though it has smaller entrance, and it utilize the existing forest area and turn it into a recreation park. There’s jogging track and hiking trail for park lover.

There’s also store selling fruits and drinks, as well as a mini tea-house that allow you to enjoy some Chinese tea, and light Chinese dish like tea egg, mee tiao noodle.

The mini tea-house is the best thing at this place in my opinion, which Botanical Garden doesn’t have. Enjoy light meal, chit-chat with friends and enjoy the beauty of nature at the same time. It feels so good.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try because I was in a hurry. Gonna go check back this place in other time. Have you been there before?

  • Walk Walk At Bangsar

Sunday night was lame because I didn’t know where to eat. I was driving pointlessly at Bukit Damansara area and there’s no cheap and good food around HELP University College. That’s bored and I and my friends went to Bangsar, for fun, and to find food.

Found no parking by the roadside and was forced to park in Bangsar Village Mall that cost me RM4.50 for about 2 hours of parking. That’s really expensive.

Bangsar Village Mall is pretty cool, the retail outlet and the F&B outlet, however they are all out of our budget. Walking pointlessly along the road to look for food on a Sunday night, we’ve finally decided to pick one randomly outside the mall and we picked Chawan. Bangsar was pretty quite on a Sunday night by the way.

    Chien Chern.

    Tee Jin.

    Hsieh Zhen.

Penang people in Klang Valley ROCKS! Despite having a variety of restaurants in the capital of Malaysia, I still prefer my hometown. Blah. What a random post. Come and follow me on Twitter, do you play Twitter? =)

  • A Visit To HELP University And HELP Residence

Klang Valley I am back! Luckily I did not stuck in the Raya jam last weekend when everyone was just going back to their work town or home town from other place. I came back last Saturday, early in the morning to get rid from the super long jam. My first destination upon arrival was HELP University College at Pusat Bandar Damasara because that my friend, Chien Chern who fetched me and Tee Jin back wanted to check in to the hostel of his new school.

This was my first time visiting the campus and I never really knew the exact location. Friends keep telling me it’s near to Mid Valley, near to Bangsar, it’s at Damansara. But I have no idea where it was, when I heard about Damansara, I only know about Damasara Utama, where the shopping mall 1 Utama is. Haha.

But now, I know where it is located, and it’s located undergroumd. Haha. Not exactly underground, the building itself is on a hill slope which the upper part is office building and lower part to the slope is the campus itself.

It was already close when we visited the place. It’s quiet, it’s so much different from Taylor’s University that I am studying in, it look, different. HAHA.

Next was to visit the HELP Residence, the hostel for the school. It’s just accompanying my friend to check-in and check out the hostel.

RM550 without utilities fee on a twin-sharing room with bathroom, without kitchen. What do you think? Looking at the photo, they look a bit dirty on the wall, but the HELP University has responded with a comment below, quite good:

Nick, Thank you for sharing your photos with us. I wished we had the chance to show you around HELP Damansara campus and the Residence. For your information, we have identified the room and immediately went in to repair and repainted the place. This is certainly an isolated case. The previous student had just moved out in the previous week and due to the long Raya holidays, the maintenance staff had not cleaned up the room in time for your friend’s check in. By the way, here is a link to show you the rest of the facilities in HELP. http://www.help.edu.my/sites/h…

Nervertheless, HELP Residence do have a good view out of the window.

  • Good Night – Miss Abu Maggi Mee

    Untitled

Penang people sure know about this road, Jalan Datuk Koyah which become happenings at night when Abu Mamak Stall start operating. The springy Maggi instant noodle cook in a pan fried way, serving with an omelet and deep fried chicken, it’s just interesting and mouth watering to eat at late night even that eating at late night is not a good habit.

At this moment, I misses the Maggi Goreng Ayam. HAHA. Good night. Where in KL can I find Abu-style Maggi Mee?

Feel free to read my food blog (Shiok Or Not) when you are hungry!

  • A Visit To Logos Hope – The Floating Book Fair

Have you heard about Logos Hope before? It’s the largest floating book fair that travels around the world. The Logos Hope is actually a name of a ship that is currently park at the Swettenham Pier in Penang. On board is a mini books fair, or also can say it’s like a mini Popular bookstore featuring many Christian books, and also many other books too.

    E

Entrance is RM1 for everyone and free for children below 12 years old. I was curious and I went to check out the Logos Hope with my girlfriend, Hueisean to see what is it like on board.

It was the Hari Raya day 1, Malay friends went to visit and celebrate and we went to check out the floating book fair. Upon arrival, I see many people queue up to get on the ship.

To my surprise, the queue was pretty long and it took about 20 minutes to reach the entrance. Since it was near to sea, with sea breeze blowing, it’s nice to wait patiently and chit-chat at the same time. Slowly, we reached the ship and we got excited.

The Logos Hope, by GBA Ships travel around the world with a vision of “Bringing knowledge, help and hope to the people of the world.” I really salute the volunteer crew that work on board and travel around the world with most of the time on the ship. It’s not an easy job.

Thankfully, the weather was pretty good, partially Sunny, with a cloudy blue sky. We walked into the ship slowly, up the stairs, into the main deck where the book fair is.

Best part is that it’s open until 10pm from Tuesday to Sunday and everyday open at 10am except Sunday at 1pm. So you can go relax in the ship sometimes although there’s nothing much.

Upon entering, I could see many people wandering around. There’s an area where people can see the history of the ship in both electronic media format and photo format. I was not really interested in it, so took a photos with the logo and started to go with the flow.

GBA Ships! Yeah. Do you know GBA? I think many don’t know about because everyone now is so high tech and advance and only know about iPhone and PSP, GBA was the GameBoy Advance, a gaming device with better graphic. I had one and sold it. Ouch.

Went to check out the books with many Christianity books around. Some are good buy because they are cheap but I have no idea how old are them. Lot’s of language dictionary too. I was looking for home improvement interior design book, I found but didn’t buy any because they were too old. If you are a book lover, you must get on board and I am sure you will find your desire books.

One cool thing is that the price of the book on the ship is using Units and 100 Units is RM8. I wonder why.

Found a cafe named International Cafe selling pop corn, pastry, some juice and soft drink but did not get any because of the long queue, then we went out of the ship and headed somewhere else!

Must visit if you are in Penang. If you are in Kuala Lumpur, it’s coming to Port Klang this month on 28th September 2011 and park for a month. Check out the schedule at the site.

P/S: Good night people, tomorrow got school! Down.
