    Morning Twilight Sky In Penang

Morning Twilight Sky In Penang – Morning twilight is the time somewhere about Sunrise where night and day meet at the horizon. I was driving early from Penang Island to Seberang Perai yesterday’s morning at about 7am. The sky was so blue and the dawn sky was so pretty. I quickly took out my camera – Panasonic Lumix LX5, slowed down my vehicle on the road and start snapping away. I know it’s not right to do so but I just couldn’t help myself capturing the beauty of dawn in Penang.

Yellow Penang Chung Ling High School

Yellow Penang Chung Ling High School – Back to my high school last weekend and surprised to see that the make over of the front school facade has done. They have repainted the school yellow colour! It’s the bright yellow colour. Looking weird, very weird, but somehow, cool I guess.

It’d been very long time that I didn’t visit my high school. I miss it quite a lot actually. 2012, this is my third year after leaving high school already. I went there to visit my Leo Club friends where the school was having the annual CCA Open Day.

The school was beige in colour back then, I wonder who suggest yellow colour. A little information is that yellow colour is one of the colour in Chung Ling High School’s emblem.

Random #1: The police cadet so serious.

Random #2: LCD screens are everywhere in school!

Random #2.1: Oooo, so it’s Samsung.

The Hidden Beach – Pasir Panjang Beach, Balik Pulau – In Penang, when we discuss about beach, I am sure you will think about the famous Batu Feringhi beach, further on you will find Monkey Beach and Pantai Kerachut hidden in the Penang National Park at Teluk Bahang. Another well-known one is the Pantai Acheh, well-known because of the site being hit by tsunami in year 2006.

However, on the back of the Penang Island, located far south of Balik Pulau, there’s a hidden beach filled with some locals who go there for picnic – the Pasir Panjang Beach.

#3: The small island is Pulau Betong.

Lastweekend, brother, brother’s girlfriend, me and cousin went for a road trip to the back of the island – Balik Pulau, which reveals a quiet side of Penang. Initially, our plan was to find the Balik Pulau Visitor Centre, rent a bike and go for a bike trail, but we failed to locate the centre and randomly, we followed the sign of towards ‘Pulau Betong’, hoping that we could find a good spot to enjoy the sunset.

    Fisherman’s boat.

We did in fact came to a fishing village, the Pulau Betong Fishing Village which has a fish market at there. The fish market is often visited by the locals, in fact, I did came here before a few years back. A further deep into the fishing village, we found ourselves, nearer to the sea. There’s a dirty beach as well as a jetty. Since the beach was dirty and at that location, we couldn’t really see the sunset as it was block by cape. We then decided to drive further down the road, pass the cape to find another spot.

#8: It says that ‘Beware! This beach is quite dangerous’.

We then came to a dead end, where a Kem Bina Negara Balik Pulau is located at. The camp is use for the government purpose as the name means ‘Building Nation’ Camp. Ignoring the camp, at the side of the camp, there lies the Pasir Panjang Beach.

I am surprise to see there’s a stretch of sandy beach at this side of the island, fill with local Malay family at there, swimming and picnic-ing. The beach is pretty short, yet it’s a good spot, it’s a cleaner beach after all. The wave at here is also bigger than the wave at Batu Ferringhi, which makes it a little bit dangerous. However, the sand at the beach was not soft enough, it’s very rough.

    #13. Wai Leong.

    #14.

I see people swimming, picnic and fishing at there. There isn’t any safeguards at there as far as I know. The people who can call for help is the visitor at there or the people who live in the Kem Bina Negara. So, it’s swim at your own risk in the sea.

    #17. So relaxing.

Despite the sand on the beach is not soft enough, the beach is not very long and wide, yet it has an awesome view of the sunset sinking down the horizon. It’s a good visit that day. I’ve included a Google Map below for your reference. =)

Good Morning Penang! Sunrise From Gurney Drive – Woke up, shot the sunrise spontaneously, and sleep back again. Good morning! Noon reaching in half an hour time. Hehe.

It’s weekend already and I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend ahead. Sunrise is pretty, though the muddy and dry area at Gurney Drive’s seashore is an eyesore. Come on people, let’s do something on the muddy area on Gurney Drive, bring back the glory and beauty of Gurney Drive like in the 80’s.

Do you know that there’s actually a sandy beach in Gurney Drive back then? Sea turtles did actually come here to lay their eggs.

Random In George Town #271211 – Do you know the capital of Penang, George Town is spell in two words instead of sticking together Georgetown? Now you know. =D Last time I didn’t know but now I know.

Do you know that you need to pay extra RM0.50 when you eat the famous Penang Road Chendol in the kopitiam behind it?

    #3.

KOMTAR actually stands for Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak (Tun Abdul Razak Complex). Tun Abdul Razak was the second Prime Minister of Malaysia.

    #4.

Do you know parking beside KOMTAR’s Pacific open-air car park costs RM2.50 per entry after 5p.m.?

Hike Penang Hill And Ride Rapid Penang Back

Hike Penang Hill And Ride Rapid Penang Back
    #1. Random faces.

Hike Penang Hill And Ride Rapid Penang Back – 8 guys, including me, previously from Penang’s famous boys school, Chung Ling High School went for a hike from Botanical Garden to Penang Hill.

Oh man! It’d been some times that I did not hike the 800+m vertical height Penang Hill for some times. The last time was like, 2 years back? It’s not easy for us, HAHA, it took us for 2 hour plus, almost 2 and a half hours to reach the top which avid hikers normally take one an a half hour non stop or some pro run up for like 45 minutes. Those who run up the slope are really crazy.

    #2: Random faces two.

I think it’s quite reasonable for us to take such a long time up because we were having our sweet time up, talking, joking and laughing all the way. Now I rethink whether I can climb the Mount Kinabalu at Sabah or not. HAHA. It needs great stamina.

#3: Top of the hill with many tourists. Woohoo. Actually Penang Hill got nothing one lo, what do you think?

Finally reached the top of Penang Hill at 10 something where we started at 8 something. Felt very happy when we reached the top as I know I do not need to suffer any more. LOL. I must train more already.

    #4: Not good fried rice.

Went to eat fried rice at the hawker stalls area for brunch and chit chat at there. Frankly, the fried rice sell by the Chinese seller was not that rice. I prefer the Malay stall at the end of the hawker stalls area. One plate of this egg fried rice without prawn cost RM4.50. WOW. Now only I know that you can’t order food from other stall at the table we sit because different stall manages different table.

#5: Is me, playing with the phone I guess.

    #6: Yan Chien Chern.

    #7: Arron Lim.

#8: Me (look like a kid), Merritt, Xiang Foong, Yong Fu, Chien Chern.

#9: Chien Chern again, Alvin, me and Arron.

#1o: The bushes which block the view of Penang city.

#11: Clearer view of George Town, awesome!

I feel Penang Hill is quite a relaxing place because when there’s wind blows up there, it feels very chilly and cool and at the same time can enjoy the beautiful view of Penang.

#12: David Brown’s Sky Terrace. Expensive restaurant! Hmm.

We bought the tram ticket at RM4 per student price person and then we went down of Penang Hill. So nice that there’s no long queue like the Hong Kong tram that I went recently and I feel the tram service in Penang is very world class one. Haha.

    #13: The gang.

    #14: Road.

#15: Road in front of Chung Ling High School.

    #16: My high school!

We wanted to take the Rapid Penang public bus back home but then we didn’t see any bus passes Penang Hill area, then we walked directly to the place where more Rapid Penang buses pass by and that’s Shang Wu Primary, pass Chung Ling High School and it’s like 3km away. Very power, because call the way we didn’t see any bus also, I wonder where all the buses gone when we were walking.

    #17: In Rapid Penang bus.

#18: At the bus interchange station, Komtar.

It’s been so long that I did not take the Rapid Penang bus too. Still the same, getting more people in the bus but not as much as in other big city. No upgrade or improvement I can see yet. I wonder when they will implement Touch N’ Go system and introduce double decker buses.  Hmm.

Good Morning My Penang Friends – It’d been a while that I didn’t meet up with them, the friends that I used to mix with before I go to college last year, they are the people that I have been together for the 3 months holiday after high school a year ago.

Now, I am back for holiday and it’s time to meet up and talk and eat and crap!

It was a Sunday morning, woke up early and went to breakfast at Jelutong. There were Yiphing, Arron, Zez Chien and Chai Wei.

Talk, eat and it’s nice seeing them again! By the way, have you tried before the famous Penang Hokkien Prawn Mee at Perak Road Market? That’s our breakfast for the day.
