Undilah Perdana Menteri! Najib’s On The Tree!

Undilah Perdana Menteri! Najib’s On The Tree!– My area suddenly has a lot of this uncle Najib’s face, the ex-prime minister of Malaysia. He’s everywhere, on the trees specifically, looking at you, watch you. As if. “Muahahaha, my eyes are on you”.

    I LOVE PM.

  • 4th MY Astro Music Awards (MY Astro至尊流行榜颁奖典礼) @ Bukit Jalil Putra Indoor Stadium

4th MY Astro Music Awards (MY Astro至尊流行榜颁奖典礼) @ Bukit Jalil Putra Indoor Stadium

4th MY Astro Music Awards (MY Astro至尊流行榜颁奖典礼) @ Bukit Jalil Putra Indoor Stadium – The tickets were free, who doesn’t wanna go to a free concert anyway? It’s a local produced music awards for Chinese songs by Astro and it featured a lot of Taiwanese and local Chinese singer, somehow it’s more like a concert to me.
Happened on last Sunday at Bukit Jalil Putra Indoor Stadium where most of the concert are held and it’s my first time checking out the place! I really got to thanks the gang of friends helping me to get the ticket from Seremban. Anyway, the whole thing started at 7.30pm and we were there about 6pm. Lots of fans were there earlier than us. Initially our tickets were Rock Zone’s but later we switch to Free Seating’s because we were just not excited to stand all night, afterall those singers are not my favourites.
What’s interesting was the stage set up, very professionally done for a local event, but what’s dissapointed was the turn up of the crowds despite the entrance tickets were free. It’s good that our country produce such event, somehow it’s the problem of the producer that the music award not excited at all, perhaps no presence of Hong Kong’s singer. Haha.
It was a long 3.5 hours show, a bit of fun, a bit of enjoyment and a bit of tired. Well, since it’s free, I couldn’t expect more. Anyway, I can see that Malaysia will has a good Chinese entertainment industry in the future. Yeah.
Wah! So many people was earlier than us.
    Very awesome stage design.
    Wow! The blogger Nick Chan!
A group shot before going home after a long 3.5 hours of concert. Yeah!
  • SHOW LUO 罗志祥 at Paradigm Mall

SHOW LUO 罗志祥 at Paradigm Mall

SHOW LUO 罗志祥 at Paradigm Mall – Show, show, show, show off, show hand, show me, show bird, show you; NO, it’s SHOW LUO! Luo Zhi Xiang went to Paradigm Mall to promote his upcoming concert in Genting Highland in May and I happened to be there to see him! Not really a fan of him, but salute and respect him as a good singer, dancer and funny host for the former 100% Entertainment 娱乐百分百. Yay. That’s it.
Didn’t really spend a long SHOW time, after a while, stomach went drumming, and it’s SUSHI time, dinner at my favourite Zanmai with the designers again. And that’s mark an end for my Friday night. Blah!
    Not interested in SHOW ah?
    Nick, Jason, Dai Lou.
    Henry, Connie, Inn, Quenna.
  • Back To Kuala Lumpur

    Back To Kuala Lumpur

KL Tower, view from Bukit Bintang.
Back To Kuala Lumpur – 3 months of holiday, 2.5 months used for internship, 0.25 months used for holiday to Taiwan and Macau and 0.25 months enjoying in Penang. Now I am back to this big city, it’s exciting, busy and hectic. Back to school, back to assignment, hopefully there will be more time to explore around the city until I graduate this year then I might never come back again. KL is a big city, fast, and beautiful, but I prefer Penang, or either way, something faster like Singapore, or Hong Kong.
Anyway, after travelling to Taiwan, I feel that Kuala Lumpur is not that bad after all, has a nice cityscape, and lot’s of skyscrapers when compare to Taipei. However, on public amenities, roads, public transport, Kuala Lumpur is way far behind.
  • Cycling At Taman Botani Negara / Bukit Cahaya, Shah Alam

Cycling At Taman Botani Negara / Bukit Cahaya, Shah Alam

Cycling At Taman Botani Negara / Bukit Cahaya, Shah Alam – There’s actually quite a few names for this place – Taman Botani Negara, Taman Pertanian Bukit Cahaya or Bukit Cerakah, call it whatever you like. That many names really makes people confusing, but I believe it’s more likely to known as Bukit Cahaya.
I’d been searching for nature hangout place for hiking, or cycling around Klang Valley and this is one of the place that I found where you can cycle around this small national park. 20 minutes of drive from Bandar Sunway and you will reach this place. 10 people, 2 cars and we reached about 8am! And you know what? The place haven’t open yet. It has opening hour 8.30am.
Going to the place is not free! Parking – RM3, entrance to the place – RM3, rent a bicycle – RM10/hour! Many pro brought their own bike, but we are not pro, so we have to pay and it’s probably a place that I would go once as our 3 hour ride totalled up RM30 already. Remember to check the bike brake when picking up your bike.
Name check! Henry, Mei Jia, Wei Shi, Ling Jia, Siyi, Quenna, Wei Kean, Hooi Pheng, Jason & Nick Chan. =D
Anyway, talk back about the place. It’s pretty cool, a little bit like Penang’s Botanical Garden, the road is not flat, it’s up and down of hill slopes, so it’s pretty tough to ride, but going down hill slopes is damn fun! We queued for like 20 minutes to get a bike and once we got our hands on it, we started riding!
Actually there’s nothing much to see, the place was not very well-maintained despite collecting fee from people. There’s an adventure activity called Skytrex where you can experience tree climbing, flying fox and more like the Escape Park in Penang. We did not go to that because we did not book in advance.
I see no monkey by the way!
    Nice blue sky day!
Found coconut tree and Mei Jia got excited and wanted to get one.
Well… I was skeptical about the coconut at first whether it’s safe to drink or not, but she convinced that it’s alright because she came from a kampung with lots of coconut trees. HAHA.
Not that sweet afterall, but refreshing!
    Yeah, lovely Saturday.
Although the place was not that person, yet it’s pretty fun pun, for a while I was in the city and for a while, we seemed to be spend like 3 hours in the nature that is so close to the city. The perspiration, laughter, wind and the stress on leg muscle makes it fun! Nice Saturday out with interior design friends again! =D
  • 1M4U ReachOut Concert @ Taylor’s University

    1M4U ReachOut Concert @ Taylor’s University

1M4U ReachOut Concert @ Taylor’s University – 1M4U, or 1Malaysia For Youth, a volunteering organization for the youth under the brand-name of 1Malaysia. Well, it’s another thing by that Najib, trying to create a good image of giving back to the communities. Oh, I don’t know, I just don’t really like ‘1Malaysia’ slogan, as if there’s so many Malaysia? 2 Malaysia? 3 Malaysia?
Me, Connie, Hua Mic and Jason!
Don’t wanna talk about politics here, it’s frustrating, energy wastage and complicated. Let’s enjoy the free concert and see the Youtube stars I would say. It was a free concert, thanks to that Najib again, and the stars of the night that I was anticipating were the 3 Youtube stars all the way from the States – Jason Chen, David Choi and Chester See! Well, there’s Estelle and Taboo of Black Eyed Peas, but I was not that crazy about them.
This guy, a helper probably was trying to shoo people sitting on the stairs and go fill in the space in front of the stage, but no one bothers. Sitting on the stairs has a better view! But ass pain sia.
    Put your hands up. OK.
    Peoples on the balcony.
Decided to go take a walk, grab a drink during some loud rock band playing. Sunset, oh lovely.
I know, I know supporting the local musician is good, but the whole session before 8pm was filled with loud bang of rock band of Malaysia. It’s just screwing up my ears a lot, and rock band is not my type of thing. With some exception, Narmi was one sweet music group with nice vocal and music.
Everything before 8pm was just hot, boring, sweaty, stick and ass pain sitting on the stairs. Everything turned wild and crazy after 8pm where Jin & Ryan of Hitz.FM, Jason Chen, David Choi, Chester See, stormed the stage with uberly-awesome music and crazy shouting screaming like siaolang crowds. Ah, David Choi has a very shiok voice that I like.
Jin of JinnyboyTV is on stage, MC-ing, welcoming Jason Chen.
I was just pretty far away, but yeah, it’s Jason Chen on the stage.
Right after all 3 Youtuber performed, that Najib and Rosmah came on stage for a little appearance. O.o
It was fun until that Najib and Rosmah came up to the stage for a little appearance. Wa-really-piang-eh!  Just, skipped that part and went for dinner. You know, the feeling is like when you are very high (anything that you can high, think yourself), then suddenly people come disturb you, that’s the feeling.
Rave party all night long. Awesome.
The party didn’t end that early, the Taylor’s University ground was turned into a rave party venue for the whole night and for the first time, Taylor’s University feels like a university to me. LOL. Yeah.
  • Semenyih: Hiking The Broga Hill

    Semenyih: Hiking The Broga Hill

Semenyih: Hiking The Broga Hill – Finally, I hiked the Broga Hill. I have always wanted to hike this little hill at the small rural town of Semenyih for a long time. 2 years ago, I planned the trip, but it never fulfilled. Now, with 6 more months left in Kuala Lumpur, I have to explore the places around as much as I can and never come back. Haha, just kidding. It’s just that my diploma studies is ending in August and that’s why.
Beautiful trail with twinkle twinkle little torch.
Back to Broga Hill, the famous hill for hiking to the people in Klang Valley and Seremban as it’s at the border of Selangor and Negeri Sembilan. It’s located very far away from the city, about 50 minutes drive from Bandar Sunway. So last week, me and friends gathered at Taylor’s University as early as 4.30am, set up the GPS and followed the navigation and GO! I’ve got to tell you, prepare to meet 4-5 tolls before reaching Broga Hill, gosh, road tolls are killing my wallet. It’s very near to Nottingham University, passed the uni and drive for another 5 minutes then you will arrive then.
We reached the place about 5.45am, there’s already many car parked at the palm plantation area (the entrance is right opposite the Rabbit Fun Land). RM2 for parking and I am not sure whether the person really own the place. Just to be safe, pay for the RM2. It’s pitched dark, and very chilly early in the morning and many people were already there for an early hike waiting to see the sunrise!
At the top! Waiting. It’s still very early.
    The leak of twilight. Lovely.
I relies on my phone’s flash light as guide, but my friends brought actual flash light to light up the hiking trail. It’s not a tall hill, but I’ve got to say, the hike is pretty challenging at some point because there’s no proper hiking steps. The hardest part is when reaching the first station where the hike gets exciting because the way up is very slanted. Be sure you have a good pair of shoes or you would just have to climb it, with hands on the floor too. HAHA.
    Gary gor!
    Henry gor!
Lin Jia and Wei Kean dailou. Nice to meet you new friend.
    Quenna and Siyi. =)
Xinli and Hooi Pheng. =) Nice to meet you new friend.
Quenna, Connie, Wei Shi and Wei Kean.
Reached the first station at about 6.45am and there’s so many people up there already! Everyone was just chatting around, taking photos, and waiting for the sunrise! What you see up there is just another hill and the small little town of Broga and Semenyih. It’s interesting that the top of the hill has no tress and it’s all couch grass.
TWILIGHT ZONE. Oh my lovely nature.
    Ghia Jun & Zee Yin.
Google told me that 7.24am was the sunrise time at Semenyih, but the actual sun rise above another hill was at about 7.40am. It takes some times for the sun to get up the hill. HAHA.
    Hello my lovely SUN.
Ah, I just love waiting for sunrise so much, it’s my new hobby lately! After that we just went down as we were hungry and it’s getting warm. Getting down seems to be more difficult than going up as it’s so steep and really have to be careful, my friend had a small bruised on her knee. Just have to be really careful, help each other at there, or just wear a tracksuit to prevent cuts and bruises from small fall.
    ME, the blogger.
    With the girls.
Love this picture a lot. Thought it would turned out silhouette, but a nice over exposed of the sun and nice composition of beautiful us. By the way, it’s all interior designers here in the photo. =D
Little stalls selling coconut and soft drinks await you at the foot hill. HAHA.
    Carpark.
Afterall, it’s a very nice and exciting hike. Sorry for writing the post that long, I will bring you to Kampung Broga and an awesome Chinese Temple with Shun Yu Kong Monkey King in the next posts. =D
  • Friday Night Karaoke @ Loudspeaker

    Friday Night Karaoke @ Loudspeaker

Friday Night Karaoke @ Loudspeaker – It’s seems like getting back to the days like in high school where I will go to the karaoke Red Box once a month. Though, it’s with different gang of people right now, it was a one group of batang guys, and now interior designers mostly. Ahh, I just love singing and hope that I can sing well but too bad I am bad in singing.
Weekend was very awesome, tiring yet fun KTV until midnight because it was after a long day of work, hiking in the early morning then out to the city for whole day. So it’s pretty much filled up for the last weekend. For the past two years in college, I found no one to sing with, and now, I am happy that I have a group of friends who go to KTV often.
Fresh Milk Grass Jelly from COCO. Not bad. Thanks Quenna & Hwa Jie for the treat!
Wei Kean, Connie, Quenna and Hwa Jie was the company of the night.
Not to say my favourite KTV spot in Kuala Lumpur, but it’s cheapest and nearest. I still prefer Red Box for the choice of song and a better sound system.
Well, KTV, yeah, do you like to sing?
  • Lai Quen & Si Yi’s Birthday @ Tokyo Kitchen

Lai Quen & Si Yi’s Birthday @ Tokyo Kitchen

Lai Quen & Si Yi’s Birthday @ Tokyo Kitchen – I getting to like work day because I seems to have more gathering during work time than during uni time where uni time is all filled with assignments. HAHA. Somehow, I still prefer study than work lah. XD So, yesterday after work I went to Kota Damansara again, this time to try out another restaurant – Tokyo Kitchen.
The interior design, pretty interesting. Sad didn’t get to sit in.
The Yee Sang! Doesn’t taste food, but the salmon was very thick cut!!!!! Thumbs up for the salmon.
All interior designers here! Hou geng ah.
    Lou lou lou.
    He is Jason. =D
    He is Henry.
    Buddy, Arvin!
Well, it’s a gathering, it’s a Pre-Chinese New Year dinner celebration, it’s a new restaurant exploration and main thing, birthday celebration for Lai Quen & Si Yi. =) It might seems to be a normal dinner for 2 birthday girls, but it turned up with birthday songs and birthday cake, filled with laughter, sweet smiles and happiness.
    Oh yummeh fruit cake!
Sweet ladies – Connie, Quenna, Si Yi, Hooi Pheng.
    Birthday girls! Qunna & Siyi.
How about the food? Tokyo Kitchen is a nice restaurant located in Sunway Giza with very homey interior decoration, unfortunately we didn’t get to sit inside as it was full. Price of food starts from RM15 and above and overall presentation looks good. I ordered myself a set of Chicken Teriyaki & Udon Set for RM26.90+. It does seems good with such price as you get a rice and noodle, but then taste wise I felt it’s not as good as Miraku or Edo Ichi, nor Sushi Zanmai.
    Salmon Sashimi Set.
Ooops, forgotten to ask about the name.
My friend ordered Salmon Sashimi Set, which however looks good with very thick cut of salmon. Overall, food taste is not that awesome, it has good decoration and personally still prefer Zanmai for price, or the best Edo Ichi for taste. =D Frankly, it did not capture my heart for good Japanese restaurant, maybe it’s good to you?
Flower girls. Playing around with the props at the restaurant.
    … … … … No comment.
    Henry Gor!
Funny that the restaurant waitress wants to take a photo of us too, guess they want to use it to advertise or something.
Anyway, it’s good night out with them after a long day of work at the office and feeling of having friends at a place I do not call home is nice.
Thumbs up for happy birthday Quenna. =)
Thumbs up for happy birthday Siyi.
Happy birthday to Quenna & Si Yi. 恭喜发财!生日快乐!=)
Hohoho, suddenly I felt so young because I am not even 21 yet. Haha. Time to plan for the next exploration, 7 months left for me to be in here, so I’m gonna explore everywhere as much I can. =D Any good place to eat, see or play in Klang Valley or around?

  • Lou Sang @ Kechara Oasis

    Lou Sang @ Kechara Oasis

Lou Sang @ Kechara Oasis – Finally, the first Lou Sang of the year of snake! Two more weeks till Chinese New Year 2013 and the atmosphere and celebration is starting already. Lou Sang is one of my favourite thing to do during Chinese New Year because it’s funny, fun and shiok. But then I don’t really like to eat the Yee Sang, I just like to Lou. Haha.
Anyway, we did the Lou Sang last Monday at Kechara Oasis, a high-end vegetarian restaurant and I still prefer a Yee Sang with raw fish. Oh oh oh, let’s lou sang!
    Group photo! Alamak, so formal!
