Cycling At Taman Botani Negara / Bukit Cahaya, Shah Alam

Cycling At Taman Botani Negara / Bukit Cahaya, Shah Alam – There’s actually quite a few names for this place – Taman Botani Negara, Taman Pertanian Bukit Cahaya or Bukit Cerakah, call it whatever you like. That many names really makes people confusing, but I believe it’s more likely to known as Bukit Cahaya.
I’d been searching for nature hangout place for hiking, or cycling around Klang Valley and this is one of the place that I found where you can cycle around this small national park. 20 minutes of drive from Bandar Sunway and you will reach this place. 10 people, 2 cars and we reached about 8am! And you know what? The place haven’t open yet. It has opening hour 8.30am.
Going to the place is not free! Parking – RM3, entrance to the place – RM3, rent a bicycle – RM10/hour! Many pro brought their own bike, but we are not pro, so we have to pay and it’s probably a place that I would go once as our 3 hour ride totalled up RM30 already. Remember to check the bike brake when picking up your bike.
Name check! Henry, Mei Jia, Wei Shi, Ling Jia, Siyi, Quenna, Wei Kean, Hooi Pheng, Jason & Nick Chan. =D
Anyway, talk back about the place. It’s pretty cool, a little bit like Penang’s Botanical Garden, the road is not flat, it’s up and down of hill slopes, so it’s pretty tough to ride, but going down hill slopes is damn fun! We queued for like 20 minutes to get a bike and once we got our hands on it, we started riding!
Actually there’s nothing much to see, the place was not very well-maintained despite collecting fee from people. There’s an adventure activity called Skytrex where you can experience tree climbing, flying fox and more like the Escape Park in Penang. We did not go to that because we did not book in advance.
I see no monkey by the way!
    Nice blue sky day!
Found coconut tree and Mei Jia got excited and wanted to get one.
Well… I was skeptical about the coconut at first whether it’s safe to drink or not, but she convinced that it’s alright because she came from a kampung with lots of coconut trees. HAHA.
Not that sweet afterall, but refreshing!
    Yeah, lovely Saturday.
Although the place was not that person, yet it’s pretty fun pun, for a while I was in the city and for a while, we seemed to be spend like 3 hours in the nature that is so close to the city. The perspiration, laughter, wind and the stress on leg muscle makes it fun! Nice Saturday out with interior design friends again! =D
  • Visit To Setia City Mall

    Visit To Setia City Mall

Visit To Setia City Mall  – It was a random decision on visiting Setia City Mall at Setia Alam, Shah Alam with the dearest, Hueisean! It’s quite a very new mall, located in a very new suburb town of Setia Alam at Shah Alam. Initially, I have no idea where it is, I just though that it’s at Shah Alam.

Set on my favourite GPS – Waze then I followed the navigation. It took me about 30 minutes to reach there. Seems far, indeed. I actually neglected to follow the GPS as I thought I knew the way, ended up it took me longer to reach. DAMN.

Surprised to reach Setia Alam, a very new town in Shah Alam where you can see nothing much at there except trees, newly built residential area, plain ground waiting to be developed and there this Setia City Mall.  I was like – ‘WALAO, THIS PLACE CAN HAS A MALL, GOT PEOPLE WANNA VISIT MEH?’

Parking is quite cheap. RM2/3 hours on the weekend and interesting to see there’s many car here. Once get into the mall, the perception about the area and the mall changed. It’s not very big, but then there’s the crowd and there’s quite many brand!

You can even find Uniqlo and soon-to-open H&M here! H&M just opens at Bukit Bintang Lot 10 by the way. Seems like this is a good place to shop. Not too crowded as Mid Valley, brand choices is OK-good and I bought cloth at there.

Will come back again when I feel really bored, or to getaway from the busy city to relax relax. =D

  • i-City, Cool Light Garden And Park In Shah Alam

i-City, Cool Light Garden And Park In Shah Alam

Not sure if you guys know about this place or not, I think it’s pretty new and I only knew about it recently when I passed by while going to Klang for Bak Kut Teh on one fine night. I saw the place filled with many LED lights trees, it’s like a park, like a garden and it’s called i-City, which is in Shah Alam.

One fine night, I went there with friends to check out the place with curiosity because I didn’t really know what’s the place is about cause I heard before we need to pay entrance fee, it’s just all light trees, nothing much. But after checking it out, I know what’s that.

Yes, we need to pay RM10 for parking per car. If walking into the place, you need to pay RM2 per person. Wow! Very expensive park, I am selfish, they shouldn’t charge and open for free to attract more and more and more visitor.

Well, if you go in the morning or before 7pm, it’s FREE. =D As long as the sky is not dark, you need not to pay. But you will see nothing when it’s bright. It’s actually all fake tree with LED as the leaves and petals. I thought it was LED on the real trip but actually it’s not.

    Lai Quen.

    Gary, my senior.

Lai Quen, Connie and Zhi Inn.

Although it’s just light, I think it’s pretty fun to walk around to take photo. Remember to bring a good wide aperture lens like 50mm f/1.8. Too bad I lend that lens to my brother and I only have my Tamron 17-50, shooting at 1600ISO. A steady hand is needed.

Then there’s some part of the i-City need to pay optional fee like there’s a mini animal park which is just animal sculpture in LED, you pay RM2. I didn’t go in. =D Then there’s also the reptile centre where you need to pay again, it’s real reptile though, like a super duper mini reptile zoo. There’s lots of snake and everything.

Quite many people taking photos and walking around at there. My friend told me that i-City serves as commercial office blocks in the morning and there’s a few restaurant where people can chill out at night. But the main attraction is the light park.

Well, do wear lightly, although it’s windy sometimes, but it’s still warm after all and perspiration beats out of our body.

Then at one side of the park, there’s a few games stall like in the fun fair and I saw a big outdoor LCD screen, it was playing CSI that time. I like the concept of the place, it’s like a new hang out place but they should reduce the parking and have more restaurants and cafe, and shopping too, then it’s perfect.

    Yay, yay, bully. =D

    Wei Kean and the Freako.

Went back at 12am after checking out the super duper mini reptile zoo. =D RM5 for student entrance. Haha. Very good.

iCity is a good visit. Want go again when I have a better camera gear, oh yeah!
