Post-Thaipusam Karaoke & Lots Of Birthday

Post-Thaipusam Karaoke & Lots Of Birthday – Last Monday night, I went to KTV with a bunch of uni friends, it had been a while that I’ve been to the KTV and you know during high school time, I go karaoke at least once a month! Oh, now it seems like the feeling for karaoke, screaming like crazy in the KTV room is back!
Actually that day I was very paiseh at there, because that it’s actually a birthday celebration for many people! I felt so bad and embarrassed that I didn’t know it’s a celebration, and I went there empty handed. =( Argghhh oh my, sorry friends that I know nothing about it and I wish you all happy birthday from here. So to prevent myself from feeling bad, I kept myself not to think my singing non-stop. Hahaha. But sincerely, I do wish you all happy birthday, Dai Lou Wei Kean, Dai Lou girlfriend – Iris, Zhi Inn, Quenna and Connie. =)
Connie, Dai Lou Wei Kean, Iris, Quenna and Zhi Inn. =)
The KTV destination was Loudspeaker and K at night was RM27 per person for 3 hours with free flow of drinks. Well, price is OK but the duration was short. 3 hours only, ended everything at 1.30am and I still felt early despite I have work the day after. HAHA, guess I played too much for the last weekend already.
    Hug hug.
    Henry Gor!
Anyway, it was a fun night. KTV rocks! But no K-Pop song please, I am Chinese song singer. Haha.

  • Old Hong Kong CNY At One Utama

Old Hong Kong CNY At One Utama

Old Hong Kong CNY At One Utama – Went to One Utama Shopping Mall last weekend for movie and dinner with Clarice. It was one hell battle in the car park as it took me almost an hour to look for a parking spot. I advise you guys to go on the weekday or night time, or early in the morning.
Saw their Chinese New Year decorations there and it’s pretty interesting as malls are competing with malls on who’s got the best decor. At One Utama, you can see a little Chinatown here which resembles the early 60s of Hong Kong. Cute!
By the way, I went to watch the horror Mama at TGV and it was good freak show! I just love horror movie so much and TGV has upgraded into a better cinema now comparing to GSC at there. On a weekend, with a Citibank card, I can get a cheaper ticket at TGV than GSC. Hohoho. I used to hate TGV for high price but now not really already. =D What do you think?
  • Chinese New Year Is Almost Here At Pavilion, Bukit Bintang

Chinese New Year Is Almost Here At Pavilion, Bukit Bintang

Chinese New Year Is Almost Here At Pavilion, Bukit Bintang -Two more weeks to Chinese New Year, the Snake year, are you ready to celebrate this best-of-the-best Chinese festival of the year? Almost all shopping malls are decorated with ching chong Chinese New Year decorations and all competing to show the best decor of all the lure customers.
Well, it’s fun to see the decoration, feel the atmosphere, but I feel most important is that your mall must have good parking, cheap parking, good shops, cheap buys not just good decor. Last Saturday I went to the city, famous shopping district Bukit Bintang for some CNY shopping and it’s fun, spent for like almost whole day at there and the traffic in the city was so traffic, the street was so crowded with people, especially Pavilion where the super red red Chinese New Year decoration attracts so many visitors. I went there to see see also. =D
Kid by the roadside of Bukit Bintang.
Well, my ass, my body is so itchy for Chinese New Year now, 2 more weeks of work to go and it’s gonna be slacky and slow, and I don’t care already, Chinese New Year DAI SAI. HAHA.

Have you got the feeling of Chinese New Year for this year Snake Year already?

  • Sunday Night At Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpu

Sunday Night At Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpu

Sunday Night At Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur – Sunday night was blue because it’s work the next day. Spending time at home is just bored on a Sunday night and some times can be moody. Petaling Jaya has no hangout spot, I am not saying shopping mall because it’s pretty much a confined space with shops. I prefer street, strolling in the city, walking, seeing life & tourists. How I wish my work, my school and my house are all in the city, so I can do street photography and explore city’s corner easily.
So, I decided to go to downtown Kuala Lumpur yesterday night with a couple of friends – Beng Tian and Hock Sheng, both high school mate from Penang. My craving for photography is back recently, Petaling Street is a good place for photography with much culture, people and tourist, and there’s also has a nice Claypot Lou Shu Fen which we went for dinner.
I haven’t really been to Petaling Street at night, thinking that it’s pretty quiet on a Sunday night, turned out I was wrong. The place was happenings, filled with tourists mostly, and foreign Bangla Myammar Indian worker selling imitation products. Surprised to find that there’s actually quite a few nice food stalls at there too which booked my next visit to taste them out.
    Hock Sheng & Beng Tian.
    KL Tower.
    Maybank Tower.
    The quiet metro station.
A dinner and some stroll in the city really filled and cheered up my blue Sunday night. I love city, how about you?

    Mayday @ Paradigm Mall

Mayday @ Paradigm Mall – That day I went to Paradigm Mall just for dinner and randomly saw Taiwanese band 五月天 Mayday were having mini concert at there and announcing their date for their official concert in Malaysia. Oh my god! I did not bring my DSLR, it had been quite a while I shoot for event like this. Anyway, Mayday rocks!
  • Finally, I Am Fiber-ed

    Finally, I Am Fiber-ed

Finally, I Am Fiber-ed  – Or should I say, I am Unifi-ed. Fiber-ed sounds funny, as if eating fibre for nutrition, ease constipation, smooth outcome. Few weeks back, I couldn’t stand the slow internet speed anymore of 1MBps sharing with one housemate and I took the step of asking an upgrade from my house owner. Well, he agreed for upgrade for a little increment in house rent, whatever, fast Internet is very important and now I am Fiber-ed with a fast connection from Unifi. I wanted Maxis Home Fiber, but the owner want to take advantage of the free call by Unifi, so that’s why. Anyway, it’s a good weekend with awesome Internet speed and time to blog more! Cheer.
Yeah, people have been using it for 3 years back and I have just started, I don’t care what you say, I am happy.
  • Pasarian Interior Design Graduate Showcase @ Annexe Gallery

Pasarian Interior Design Graduate Showcase @ Annexe Gallery

Pasarian Interior Design Graduate Showcase @ Annexe Gallery – One fine Tuesday evening, after my work at the interior design studio, I went to the Annexe Gallery at Central Market, Pasar Seni to check out the Pasarian, a graduate showcase by my seniors of the interior design school of Taylor’s University. As far as I know, it’s the first ever interior design graduate showcase from Taylor’s University. What’s about before? I don’t know. Haha.
I’ve seen my seniors’ works before, so I was there to give support to them and perhaps bid farewell since I won’t be seeing them in midnight studio anymore like last time. I felt that they did a very good job in making this graduate showcase which I see is a success and everything was just good. How I wish that when I graduate later this year, I get to participate or organize something like this together with my classmate, but it’s not an easy one with them as my the people from my class are not as enthusiastic and unite as the Pasarian. Lack of luck I guess for me not meeting a good bunch of people. Hopefully, there will be a graduate showcase for me too? =)
Anyway, it was a good night with some chattering, food, arts, and laughter. The show is still on until this Sunday, 13th January 2013. Do check out at Annexe Gallery, Central Market, accessible via LRT at Pasar Seni station.
Hua Mic, one of the senior who helped a lot.
Bunch of seniors who helped a lot, and the lecturer CK.
By the way, Pasarian – people of the Pasar (market) represent the noisy bunch of girls and very few guys in that class.
  • Internship Experience: I Feel Workday Blues

Internship Experience: I Feel Workday Blues

Internship Experience: I Feel Workday Blues – One week of internship at the interior design studio has passed, so how was it? It’s not as fun as I’ve expected. It’s more workload than I’ve expected and the office environment is not what I imagined. Haha?
No, not from the view of my office, how I wish it is. – Kuala Lumpur.
‘Come on, it’s just an internship training’, I told myself. I am now experiencing the job of a full-time designer at the company, guess that’s the point of practical training is, right? Haha. Now only I realised that it’s not easy to work in this industry, there’s no fix 9-5 working hours, it’s always O.T. most of the time, like today, I just got home like an hour ago only. Deadlines, and hardworking colleagues, that makes up the over time.
Colleagues and bosses are friendly at the studio, but there’s not much of spoon-feeding already, like teaching me what’s what, maybe it should be so, and they became a living dictionary that I can just ask anything I want to learn. Working in a designing firm is not what I thought as it is, I thought of working in team, I thought of less detailed drawing, more on 3D and conceptual design, turned out it’s detailed drawings all the time with minimal of 3D drawing. But hey, at least I know these detailed drawings can cost over tenth of thousands!
    The workplace environment.
It’s kind of a mix or neutral feeling at work now, not overly enjoy, nor dislike it, I’ll take it as a place to train myself, learn and gain the knowledge and experience. 2 months only, let’s do it and enjoy it. But somehow, I still feel workday blues. Maybe I should find a fun point at work, which is…?
Anyway, good night and happy working to you. Things to do tomorrow: Find a fun point.
  • First Time Visit To Setia Walk, Puchong

First Time Visit To Setia Walk, Puchong

    So many ‘To-Let’!

First Time Visit To Setia Walk, Puchong – If you are from around Puchong, confirm you will know about the latest Setia Walk somewhere near Bandar Puteri, but in case you don’t know, here it is that I’ve just visited last weekend.

Seems like there’s a Hotel, but I couldn’t find it.
Very cool place because of the water features.
    Fountain!

Setia Walk is a mixed commercial + residential + small retail mall development. Currently, there’s really nothing much at there, except some restaurants and a numbers of pubs, a cinema – TGV Cinemas, and a gym – Celebrity Fitness.

There’s also some boutique at there.
    Brussels!

I went there for the cinema actually and the rate is pretty reasonable when comparing to other TGV @ RM10/ticket on a Saturday! Watched Life Of Pi and the screen is pretty awesome, not forget to mention, it’s very cold too for the air-conditioning. Haha.

Well, it seems to be a good place to chill with friend at the pubs at night, pretty interesting concept with nice water features, but then we’ll have to wait for the shops to open all up first.

  • Big Bad Wolf Books Fair 2012 At MIECC Is Good

Big Bad Wolf Books Fair 2012 At MIECC Is Good

Big Bad Wolf Books Fair 2012 At MIECC Is Good – Cheap books! Cheap books! Cheap books WARNING!!!! If you are in KL, you will know about this Big Bad Wolf Books Sales at MIECC (Mines International Convention Centre). They are still on going until 23rd of December 2012!

Yeah, the canal with boats that not many people hop on for a ride.
Prefer The Venetian @ Macau. =D

Well, I went there today morning, GPS was the one who brought me there as I haven’t been to The Mines for don’t know how many years. I only recalled that there’s the shopping mall with a canal connecting to a big lake with boat cruising along. I was like younger than 10 years old that time I guess that I had a boat ride at there.

Yeahhh! The world’s biggest book fair!
Here we are, at the MIECC – Mines International Convention Centre. Look old and not so much of good maintenance. Hmm.

Of course, I started a walk in the mall – The Mines Shopping Mall and lunch there before heading to the MIECC for the Big Bad Wolf. Didn’t really recall much while walking around the mall, and to be honest, the mall is kinda old and not very fun for me, I prefer some other mall, or perhaps a refurbishment will make it better.

    Books #1!
    Books #2!

Cut the mall crap, get to the 4th level and there’s a connection bridge to MIECC and at there I was not surprised with the number of people at there, all book lovers, and not. I don’t know what I am, I love books, I love the idea of reading, but one book can take me some time to be read finish; lazy, and slow, yet interested in it. Weird huh?

Comparing with Popular BookFest, I prefer this one, cheap books mostly around RM8-RM15 and the books are like 3-4 years old. Nice part is there’s plenty of design and architecture books from RM18-RM30. You can find almost any books there, and the best thing is no entrance fee. Why Popular wanted to collect entrance fee at KLCC last time?!

    Books we bought.

Bought books of course, some self-help books, entrepreneurship, design and Clarice got herself a book about romance. Well, it’s just a few but not as much as those bookworms out there, I know I will read very slow, so I did not get much. =D Lovely book fair for book worms, do check it out.

The Lamborghini! Not very into car, but this one is old-school and very cool!
Awesome attraction at the books fair, another Lamborghini. I want one too!
So here’s Clarice and me after the book fair.

By the way, OCBC credit card holder gets an additional of 5% discount. WOAH! Not me. =.=
