Super Crowded At KLCC Park During Hari Raya
Super Crowded At KLCC Park During Hari Raya – I know Raya has passed for a few weeks already, but then I am very free right now, enjoying my lovely holiday and so there’s plenty of time for me to throwback some interesting moment and stuff.Sharing back about Hari Raya, I believe many people balik kampung to either celebrate the holy festival with their family, and the people who were not celebrating, too went back to hometown for a holiday. Somehow, I’ve decided to stay in Kuala Lumpur during that time as I know hometown Penang would be packed with tourists and people, traffic congestion would be everywhere too.Very interestingly, Kuala Lumpur was deserted, with so little car on all the major roads. No surprise because many who resides in Kuala Lumpur are actually came from other part of Malaysia. However, if you take a trip down to KLCC, you would be shocked by the number of people at there! It’s the most crowded time of the year, with foreign labour all packed at the KLCC Park, making some uncomfortable moment for me. Moreover, there’s the Popular Book Fair happened at the convention centre, no doubt, everyone cramped in this iconic place of Kuala Lumpur.Well, I actually recommend people to head to Kuala Lumpur during Hari Raya because during that time, you can be king of the road with no ‘pek-chek’ moment in the traffic jam and enjoy your shopping, but just beware of the crowds at KLCC. -

Petronas KLCC After Dinner
Petronas KLCC After Dinner – I had Korean food last Friday! It was a very-very full Korean dinner for me and I will talk about it in another post. After dinner, I did not want to go home yet, I want to walkaround to digest the food in my little stomach. I was so bloated after dinner and need some exercise.
Since nothing to do, so I went to KLCC (Petronas Twin Towers) for fun with dearest, Hueisean! =) I feel very funny when people were driving out of the carpark at 10.30pm and I was driving in. There’s no other place better than KLCC for a night walk, is there any? =D
KL is not like Hong Kong where you can go to the Victoria Harbour, Sai Yeung Choi St or Causeway Bay for walk, even Singapore has more place to walkaround at night e.g. Marina Bay. KL… Hmmmmmmm.

The Public Bank building looks awesome!
It’s her!
Us!
Passed by H&M, Bukit Bintang while going home. People were standing outside taking photos on the day before it opens. Haha. -

Went To Popular BookFest 2012 @ KL Convention Centre
Went To Popular BookFest 2012 @ KL Convention Centre – The eve of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, not surprisingly, the road in Petaling Jaya was so smooth today, LDP was so nice to drive on. I didn’t drive in to the city centre despite the smooth traffic, I am just stingy to pay for the parking and fuel. I took the LRT, to save fuel and the environment.
Seems like it’s a holiday for those foreign labour worker, they came out in group and ride the LRT together. I don’t really have good feeling for them. Anyway, cut the crap, I went to Popular BookFest 2012 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today and it’s my first time going there. There’s so many people at there, kids and youngster mostly and also lots of parents! It’s very crowded at there.
I was pretty excited about it, but my excitement turned into disappointment when I saw the big banner of ‘Ticket Counter’, then ‘RM2.50/entry’. I was like ‘What?! Why do we have to pay for books fair?!’. PIKOM PC Fair is free, why couldn’t you? Well, since I was there already, RM2.50 is not really a lot, so I just paid for it and went in. Got a wrist tag as entrance and a guide book filled with advertisement.
It’s an International books fair, but most of them are Chinese books from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. I was hoping to look for some design inspiration book from Taiwan and Hong Kong, unfortunately I couldn’t found any. Instead, bought a self-improvement book – 心理专家的说话技巧. Sounds interesting. There’s design book on sale at very low price, but I didn’t get them because it’s quite old.
I was at the hall for quite a long time, not because there’s too many books, but is because I was finding design books hardly. Checked out the stationery section too, not bad, tech accessories are on sale, bought charger for my phone as I’ve lost mine.
Went to Kinokuniya after that and I can tell you that Kinokuniya is still the best! Don’t think I will return to the BookFest next year.

KLCC And KL City Walk
KLCC And KL City Walk – Few weeks back, I went to Kuala Lumpur downtown alone and armed with a camera. I drove to the LRT station, parked my car there and took the public transport to town. I didn’t want to drive to downtown because I am very sick with the traffic congestion and also don’t want to pay for the expensive parking fee, so I went for public transport.

#2. The quiet LRT station – Taman Bahagia. You know, the week before I went to KL, I drove there, it took me 1 hour plus to reach the Chinese VISA Centre at OSK Tower a.k.a. Bank Of China at Jalan Ampang from Bandar Sunway, from there, it took me another hour to reach Bukit Bintang. It’s really sickening. Only then I know there’s a LRT station right below the place to do the Chinese VISA, so it’s pretty convenient for me to take the LRT.

#4. OSK Building and Bank Of China, the place to do Chinese VISA.Woohoo, I am going to China for travel soon, so I need to do VISA. Because I was in KL at that time, so I went directly to the Chinese VISA Centre to do the VISA. Normally if I am in Penang, I would just drop my passport at the travel agent, of course extra charges will be applied, and take a longer time too. One thing, please don’t go to the Chinese Embassy on Jalan Ampang, they don’t do VISA there, you have to go to 2nd level of the OSK building.
After I’ve done with the VISA thingy, I went to Bukit Bintang area for a little walk and look for lunch.

#5. The real Tong Pak Fu Hong Kong Dessert in KLCC just opened not long. There’s also a dessert shop with similar name in Penang named Tang Bo Fu. Haha.Although Ampang Park Station (Chinese VISA place) and KLCC Station is just one stop away, but I was so lazy to walk so I take the LRT back to KLCC, alight and start touring around the place.

#7: World tallest twin towers in wide angle! From KLCC, I started my journey walking from the shopping mall to the convention center, where there will connect me to Jalan Kia Peng to Pavilion shopping mall and then to Bukit Bintang area.

#9. Didn’t get a chance to walk on the air-conditioned underpass. You know there’s actually an underpass from Suria KLCC to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The funny thing is the underpass is located in the car park where air-conditioning is not available. And now, they have started to construct a air-conditioned walkway for the underpass. They should have work it out earlier!
Normally, going to Pavilion need to pass through Jalan Kia Peng and you have to walk under the sun and rain. Now they are building a air-conditioned bridge which connects KLCC to Pavilion shopping mall which is very good! They only opened part of it so it’s not fully connected to Pavilion. I was curious, I went on the bridge and see where it’s connected to at the moment.
It brought me to Corus Hotel, I went down the bridge and found a new hotspot in town – the KL City Walk.

#12. Free WIFI available at KL City Walk.KL City Walk has a many restaurant located in a alley in between office blocks. Originally, the KL City Walk is just a lorong or lane behind office blocks. It’s then converted into a walking street featuring many restaurants for dining pleasure. It’s a very good idea of converting ugly back lanes into place like this.

#14. The KL City Walk is quite shady with tall buildings blocking the scorching heat of the sun.The KL City Walk is well decorated with fans as well as some green plants and trees.

#16. An unknown brand bubble tea shop with the price of famous Chatime and Gong Cha. o.OYou can find many office worker dining here during lunch hour and tea time. It’s a hidden spot in town. I wouldn’t have know this place if the connecting bridge from KLCC to Pavilion doesn’t exist. Haha.

Site Visit to KLCC
I don’t know should I categorize my school life as college life or university life because my school, recently upgraded their status from Taylor’s University College to Taylor’s University. Though, I am only taking Diploma courses in this private university. Haha. Pretending to be a real university student.
Hi, by the way. I am back again. Stupid Taylor’s Residence promised Internet will be ready by September but it’s already October and it’s still not ready. Really bad service I tell you guys.
One of my subject is Introduction to Design. I don’t know want how to tell you about what is it about but then part or classes will be outside and we called it site visit, something like a field trip, going to the places to take some photograph, do some sketches, look around and play. =D

Our first site visit was to KLCC or also known as the Petronas Twin Towers. Part of the photos here you see will also be seen in my Journal for the subject. =D
Everyone knows about this places but wondering why we still need to go to check out KLCC right? Actually we were researching about the architect behind the towers and the park and now I know, Ceasar Pelli designed the towers and Roberto Burle Marx designed the KLCC park. Haha.

MJ from Iran. Our class rep giving instruction.
Wanyi, friend from the same hometown, Penang.
Aseel from Palestine, resides in Saudi Arabia, so basically she’s from Saudi Arabia but born in Palestine. We were given only an hour time to take as many photos about the building and the area as much as we can. I was thinking about buying Rotiboy this and that but the time for taking photograph was like so not sufficient. The weather was so hot and I sweated a lot although it’s not sunny. The atmosphere was just, warm.

Anastasia from Belarus, and Nita from Indonesia. Many international students in my class. Rocks. In and out. Unfortunately there’s no blue sky and it’s pretty difficult to look for blue sky to take photos with the KLCC in the middle of a concrete city in a tropical hot country.
Beautiful, wonderful, bombastic. Good morning. Haha.

Went to KL to Check Out MIFF with Dad
Last weekend, there’s a exhibition/expo happened in the capital, Kuala Lumpur. It’s the Malaysia International Furniture Fair. Dad is in part of the furnishing business so he brought us along to Kuala Lumpur. Usually, going there would be more likely a shopping trip for me and mommy but somehow, I didn’t really buy anything. It’s more like a business-acompany trip, nothing to buy actually and there’s no sale in Malaysia.
To be honest, I am not really into the furniture and related expo, I only interested in something like Electronic Gaming Expo or the Consumer Electronics Show, Tokyo Game Show or perhaps the Taiwan Computex. They’re cool and bombastic gadgets show, which I like! Somehow, I need to be interested in furniture because I will be doing interior design course in college. Yeah.
Quite a lovely rainy day in Kuala Lumpur, it rained so big, the cats and dogs type of rain, it’s nice because it had been very hot weather since Chinese New Year. Temperature here in Malaysia is sky rocket high.
It’s interesting that the MIFF was not located on one venue only, it’s spread out to 3 convention hall, the KLCC, PWTC and MECC. I didn’t really have the feel to tour KL so was just following daddy here and there to do his business.
After finish touring the exhibition hall, we went to check-in at the hotel. We stayed at Concorde. It’s a walk-in as I tried to book hotel but many hotels were fully booked and it’s quite last minute too. Thankfully, there’s still room in Concorde.

Penang also got Jalan P. Ramlee. We then walked to Avenue K which just right opposite KLCC. From the hotel to Avenue K is like 15 minutes away only, very close, and passed by the night life district.
Have been to KL for so many times, been shopping in Suria KLCC for so many times and it’s my first time getting so close to KLCC, right below it. I now only believe that it’s so magnificent even though it’s not the tallest now. Still, it’s the tallest STAINLESS STEEL TWIN tower in the world. ^^
Malaysia BOLEH.
It’s really a beautiful building and it’s a must visit and photograph if you come to Malaysia.
Avenue K is actually a shopping mall, but then no idea why, there’s no shop inside. There’s only a few restaurant and we went there for dinner. I actually visited the supercondo above Avenue K before, it was like last year. =)
Nice uncle living in KL brought us to this Ah Yat Abalone chinese restaurant. Nice food, nice place!
After dinner, I went to Suria KLCC to window shop a while because it’s still early and I didn’t want to go back to the hotel so soon, as there’s no Internet access also. So might as well stay outside a little while longer. Only then we walked back to the hotel. Then sleep. ^^

Views from hotel room. Saw Hard Rock Cafe yeah. Penang got Hard Rock Hotel. The next day, went to visit Taylor’s College Lakeside Campus, very beautiful and only then a real window shopping at Suria KLCC again where dad went to visit to MIFF, KLCC hall. Then came back to Penang in evening. Yeah!
