Pulau Ketam – A Weekend Getaway Island

Pulau Ketam – A Weekend Getaway Island – Last Saturday was a pretty interesting one and a bit of tiring because lots of walking. Luckily the weather was just nice to allow us to walk! It was a visit to Pulau Ketam (Crab Island), an island 45 minutes off Port Klang. Thinking of beautiful ivory sandy beach and 5-star resorts with parasailing and banana boats, as well as bikini chicks? You are on the wrong page, it’s nothing close to that, it’s a Chinese fishing village!
It’s quite a fun exploration because we took the KTM train to from Subang to Port Klang, then changed to a ferry that cost RM7/one way to Pulau Ketam. Whole journey to the island took about 2 hours, that, yeah, quite long.
For a while I was in the city, and another while, I came to somewhere really far away from the bustling city, it’s serene, calm and relax. It’s a village after all, with no motor vehicles, except boats. Walking is one way to travel around, another way is cycle. No car, or motorcycle, that’s why I would say it’s totally different from the city.
Well, people said it’s famous for seafood, but I still prefer going to Kuala Selangor for seafood, it’s more likely touristy business for the seafood. There’s not much business on the island, people there relax, and I believe they know every one on the island. Tourist like us go there to spend part of the day to getaway from the city, relax, and see something different.
We walked around the island, we prayed at the Buddhist temple, we ate the seafood, we shoot a lot of photos and we laughed.
If someone were to maintain the island well, clean up the rubbish, beautify the village, I am sure that this will be one good tourist destination, but… there’s still big space of improvement. See Penang’s Chew Jetty, it’s so touristy and beautiful now.
Nevertheless, it was still a nice getaway.

Car wash, good! I’ve forget to tell you, the KTM train is so slow!
The RM7/way ferry that bring us to the island.
The ferry interior, somehow mysterious, and old school, and old.
    Reached!
Sign of election is coming where the parties are competiing on who has the most or biggest flags. Lame shit.
Rent a bicycle for RM5 per day and we decided to just walk!
    The road.
    Police station.
The girls doing prayers, praying for good man to appear in their life? Haha.
    Nice table to sleep!
    Well look, I am camouflage!

White shoes, reminded me of high school.
    Hello little girls!
  • Klang Valley: Famous Seng Huat Klang Bak Kut Teh

Klang Valley: Famous Seng Huat Klang Bak Kut Teh

Klang Valley: Famous Seng Huat Klang Bak Kut Teh – Yes, Klang is very famous for Bak Kut Teh! But there’s too many bak kut teh out there at Klang and it’s pretty hard for us to decide where to go for after our cycling at Bukit Cahaya. Some people says that when it’s too famous, the quality turns bad, but we just didn’t care, we went to the one that is most discussed on the internet, the most results on Google search result and it’s this Seng Huat Bak Kut Teh, also known as the Bak Kut Teh below the flyover bridge in Klang.
We were so hungry after 3 hours ride of bicycle at Bukit Cahaya and it took about 20 minutes from Shah Alam to reach there. Thanks to GPS, we actually missed the junction and took us another 10 minutes to turn back in. Aduhainya.
Combined two tables for 10 of us, didn’t really know how to order, so it’s the Seng Huat people who made the decision for us, a mixture of different pork meat, with vegetable and toufu pok. That’s our lunch!
The taste is pretty nice, definitely better than I had in Penang but somehow there’s one at Aman Suria – Shun Heng Bak Kut Teh seems to have a stronger taste. Afterall, it was a good one!
One more thing, it’s only RM11 per person, cheap!

  • Site Visit To Tune Studio At Klang

Site Visit To Tune Studio At Klang

Recently just been to a site visit with the Interior Behaviour Study class people to the Tune Studio at Klang. It’s kinda new and my lecturer told us the interior design of the studio is pretty cool so we went to check it out. One thing I dislike about the school is they are charging us RM10 per trip for a return bus fare which increased RM5 from the previous RM5 fare.

What the hell are they bus company doing to the school. It’s just not reasonable, not relevant also. Sucks.

Forget about it and let’s talk about Tune Studio. This is actually a music production studio that available to rent for people who want to make their own music or jam at there and it’s pretty new.

Located in the also quite new Harbour Place Mall in Klang on the 2nd floor, it’s not open to public yet. I am so glad that I am some first visit to the place, not to record a CD but to check out the interior design and stuff.

The journey from Taylor’s University to Tune Studio was like about 25-30 minutes. We had a tour guide that day and she’s Veronica, head of marketing for the Tune Studio too. It’s nice to have a tour guide but I prefer moving around the place myself. Lighting was pretty dim so it’s pretty hard to take a good shot, I need ISO 320o or ISO 6400 now! Haha.

I think it’s pretty cool. Musical instrument are available during rental and so bad that I couldn’t play any music. I would like to learn to play guitar and piano. It’s seems so cool and so fun to play. Will it be hard to learn? =)

I feel it’s quite a nice place to take photo, if I have a wider lens and wider aperture one, then it would be awesome. =D Daddy please buy me a new camera. *finger cross*

    MJ sketching the place.

    Nice map on wall.

    Group shot.

Spent about an hour plus inside then back to school. The place is quite small, but I feel it’s awesome. The design uses more on wood material which gives a warm feeling and cosy too. Nice.
