Nice BERSIH 3.0 Video By Lumierasia

Nice BERSIH 3.0 Video By Lumierasia – BERSIH 3.0 is over now, while waiting for me to upload some of the photos I have taken at the BERSIH rally, here I want to share a nice video about BERSIH 3.0 by Lumierasia which is shot and edited on the same day (SDE). It’s really tiring day. Many news and media has reported about it, but the best part is not watching them on TV, it’s seeing people uploading those unseen footage on Facebook and Internet.

I did not stay till the end, I guess I did my parts, experienced it and I wish all the best to the coming General Election of Malaysia.

Bersih 3.0 Same Day Edit by lumierasia

In addition, just found a very funny video on YouTube where our PM Najib Rajaz picture is on the floor and every one who walk passed was like stepping on his face, spitting. This is really funny.

Bangkok Trip: Cool Retro Coffee Stall @ Chatuchak Market (Day 2) – One of the cool thing I found at Chatuchak Weekend Market is these retro style & cool coffee stall. The coffee stall is very retro-ish with the use of old manual coffee machine and equipment.

I feel it’s very cool. The Thai barista =D first will grind the coffee bean manually into coffee powder. Then the coffee powder will be cook until certain degree. Only then it’s ready to mix with hot boiling water as well as condensed milk. One cup of this costs only 40Baht with ice and 30Baht for hot beverage. Awesome! It’s so much better than Chatime and Starbucks Coffee!

    I want more!

  • Hello Malaysia’s Starbucks Coffee Card

    Hello Malaysia’s Starbucks Coffee Card

Hello Malaysia’s Starbucks Coffee Card – I know it’s kinda late to share this up but then I still believe many people out there do not aware of the existence of Starbucks Coffee card in Malaysia. Haha. I have the similar card a few years back but that was the USA version and it could not be used here.

After a long wait, the Starbucks Coffee card is finally here in Malaysia. It’s actually just collectible prepaid card or can use as a gift card which you can store money in it and then use it to buy your beverage and cakes. The good part of it is that it has a nice design on the card which can turn collecting the card as a hobby.

  • The Jobs – CM Lim Guan Eng And Edison Chen

The Jobs – CM Lim Guan Eng And Edison Chen

The Jobs – CM Lim Guan Eng And Edison Chen – Found these photos on the Facebook which are altered from the original Steve Jobs photo when he passed away. It’s really funny that how they show you who have a better “jobs” in between the Penang’s Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and Hong Kong celebrity Edison Chen.

The Jobs - CM Lim Guan Eng And Edison Chen

CM Lim Guan Eng is so far the best chief minister of Penang in my opinion since he take over the whole state. Development grows, more investment in Penang and a lot more he had done to Penang although there’s still space to improve. I’m really glad that having Lim Guan Eng as the chief minister and hopefully he will bring Penang, my hometown to a developed city on par with other top city in the world.

The Jobs - CM Lim Guan Eng And Edison Chen

Edison Chen, famous Hong Kong celebrity who falls in to various sex scandal in 2008 where the scandal photos of him and other girls were leak onto the Internet when his broken MacBook was sent to repair. That year was the most “down” year for him as it clearly showed his bad conducts. Recently, photos of him kissing a 16 years old girl was leaked again and the scandal is back. Anyway, despite all the scandal, I think he is quite powerful too for having his own fashion company – CLOT and media company CMD, and also handsome. No doubt this two people are compared for “Jobs”. LOL.

  • Share The Love Concert At Taylor’s University

#1: Nice Taylor’s University at night.

Share The Love Concert At Taylor’s University – I went to school last Saturday night to camp in school to do assignment. I wore simple clothing, a t-shirt and a pair of shorts, with slippers on, feeling free and easy and arrived in school happily. Then I heard loud voices of people singing, and the school’s lights were turn on brightly. There’s a concert going on in the campus – Share The Love.

#2: The Julie’s balloon. Julie’s is a brand of biscuit.

I almost forgot about it until I reached school that Saturday night. Share The Love is actually a charity concert which promotes friendship and solidarity through music. The concert is actually a singing contest which the winner wins RM5000 cash prize for themselves as well as another RM5000 which to be donated to the Taylor’s World Food Day on behalf of them. Cool right?

    #3: The bunting.

    #4

The crowds were not really big, about 200 or more people can be see, sitting on the checkered floor, some lying and enjoying the concert. It was quite relaxing and nice to see a concert stage was set up in the school.

#5: The stage and people on the floor.

I imagined what if some other famous artist has their mini concert here, it will be really very awesome, given a good view of the campus. I would like to see Taiwan’s artist here, but I don’t think it’s possible because it’s an English speaking school. HAHA.

#6: From the side of the stage.

#9: The host is talking on the ramp.

Share The Love. I spend less than 30 minutes then and off I went to do assignment with my group mates. I didn’t really enjoy those Indie band because I don’t know the music and songs they were singing. But one cool thing was, they were giving out free little food like cup cakes to the people by answering a few question.

  • Canon Sprint And Ricoh RZ-700s Film Camera

Canon Sprint And Ricoh RZ-700s Film Camera

Do you keep your old toys, stuff and gadget? Some like to trash it away as they think it’s taking up extra spaces. I don’t really like to throw away stuff because I think they are memorable and have a value in the future. Just look at the rusty exhibits at the museum and gallery, they are all old stuff.

Recently, I found 2 old camera in my house’s cabinet. It’s not really very old, but it’s there for more than 10 years. I wipe them with a clean cloth and I’m going to keep them well, as a exhibit, collection, and perhaps use it to take photos again.

The Canon Sprint, is a fixed focal length camera with 35mm and f/3.5 aperture with flash too. It uses 2 AAA batteries.

Another camera is the Ricoh RZ-700s which is a film camera that has a zoom function, but not sure about the auto-focus mode and aperture. Guess this is a lousy camera as my parents got it for free during a lucky draw session back then. It runs on a CR2 battery.

Pretty cool, if you have some unwanted and old camera and want to get rid of, donate it to me. =D

  • Noon At Kek Lok Si Temple

Noon At Kek Lok Si Temple

One find noon in Penang, mom and I went to Kek Lok Si temple to do something, I followed along to snap some photos as I haven’t been there in bright daylight before. It seems fun, but it was a short trip up there. Kek Lok Si temple is one of the most famous and gorgeous temple in South East Asia and it’s a good place for photoshooting.

It was a bright and sunny day, yet there’s a little windy breeze blow as the Kek Lok Si temple is located a little bit high from ground level. I saw quite many foreign and local tourist checking out the place and take photos.

Ever since Penang has got the UNESCO World Heritage City status, more and more tourist are flocking into this little so-called “Pearl Of The Orient” for its lovely heritage town and of course the famous food.

Kek Lok Si Temple is one of the place that you must not miss when you are visiting Penang. Doesn’t matter if you are Muslim, Christian or other races, it’s good to check out the architecture, culture and art of this temple.

Kek Lok Si Temple is not a small temple, it’s huge and have several sections for you to visit and explore. As for me, I only went to the main hall and didn’t went UP to other area as it takes like an hour and more if you are an avid photographer. We were there to do some stuff at the main hall.

Nevertheless, it’s still nice to move around at the main hall area to take some shots. Parking is RM2 at the entrance of Kek Lok Si which is rather cheap as you can park as long as you want.

One thing I dislike while checking around the place is I saw this zinc roof with shape into Chinese-style roof. It makes the place so cheap-looking and lousy. Instead I think they should just replaced with it better ceramic roof which resembles a real Chinese temple architecture. =)

  • A Day Out With Yashica 635 Twin Lens Reflex Camera

A Day Out With Yashica 635 Twin Lens Reflex Camera

Do you know what is Twin Lens Reflex camera, the TLR? It’s an old vintage camera which has two lens and your viewfinder is on top of the camera and people look down into the camera to take a shot.

My uncle borrowed me an very old camera, the Yashica 635 dual format TLR camera to play out. He kept it for super many years, it still looking good and in a very good condition for taking photograph. The dual format means that it can support both 120mm film and the 35mm film that we normally use.

120mm is not really my favourite as it’s not easy to find and the processing and developing of it is costly. Luckily there’s an adapter which allow the camera to use 35mm format film, though this turn the camera into portrait mode.

With much excitement about this ancient camera, brother and I went to buy a Fujifilm Superia 35mm film for RM12 to try it out. Spent about half an hour to figure out how to put in the film as there’s no manual for it and finally we’ve successfully have the film fixed in the camera.

Everything is in manual, focusing, shutter speed and aperture. It has a wide aperture of f3.5 and fastest shutter speed of 1/500. We have to wind every exposure film ourselves manually as there’s no battery and automated part.

After fixing the film, we quickly go to Straits Quay to try out the camera since the day was still bright. As you know, film camera without a flash and slow ISO film is always not advisable to shoot during low light situation.

Focusing is easy with a magnifying glass on the viewfinder. However, setting up the best setting for shooting is not easy and we have to refer to the setting of DSLR like shutter speed and aperture. Haha. We are not pro to estimate it yet, I really salute the user of this camera back then. There must be a standard for it but I don’t know yet.

We wanted to shoot all 36 exposure of the film but failed because the winding problem of the camera and we wind all till the end and we shot about 16 shots.

Thought of going to the camera shop to developed the film right after it but couldn’t find any photo shop that is still open on a Sunday evening. Haha. And not much of them are developing and printing film, that’s a sad thing. Then we went to develop the next day, scanned into digital format and turn out to be good and love the bokeh and the photos taken by me. Haha, so proud of myself. XD Some shots were taken by my brother too.

Seems like film camera is kinda fun, especially old old one. =D

One more thing, it’s not easy to frame the photo as it’s inverted in the viewfinder and superhard to take landscape.
