Singapore: Nice Pancake At Hoshino Coffee, Plaza Singapura

Singapore: Nice Pancake At Hoshino Coffee, Plaza Singapura – What to do after a tiring walk in the mall? Of course it’s take a break, sit down for a high-tea with some nice beverage and light bites. Mom and I came across of this Hoshino Coffee at new wing of Plaza Singapura and we went to have our feet rest.

The wait was not fancy because it took about 15 minutes for us to get a place. The queue was long and people in the didn’t really seems want to get out of their comfy seat. Anyway, skip the rambling on the queue thingy and let’s get into food.

It’s a Japanese brand cafe serving pancake, some desserts and also pasta too! So wanted to try them all but my stomach was pretty full over the lunch. I ordered their recommended Scuffle Pancake With Chocolate Banana and Softee (another option instead of softee is cream) at S$13.

And then we also ordered a cup of in-house special Hoshino Hot Coffee at S$5.

The coffee, the fragrance very nice, the taste very smooth. Not a very coffee guy I am, but I still like it.
    Nicely presented pancake.

Overall, it was a good resting place for us. The pancake was nice, pretty sweet and the warm pancake serve with softee ice cream and chcolate banana and a little bit of honey was just delicious for me. Yums. By the way, it’s my first time eating such pancake. Haha.

  • Sunrise: Good Morning Singapore Straits From Marina Bay Sands

Sunrise: Good Morning Singapore Straits From Marina Bay Sands

Sunrise: Good Morning Singapore Straits From Marina Bay Sands – The hotel room at Marina Bay Sands has a good view of the Singapore Straits and you need not be surprise with all the ships parking in the middle of the sea. Come on, this is Singapore, one of the busiest port in the world. Guess that breaks the beauty of the straits. Anyway, you can get a good view of sunrise from here but then the weather has been naughty. There’s no clear blue sky, a little bit of cloudy, and here’s what I’ve got.

    Overlooking Gardens By The Bay.
    Ships and the shy Sun.

At least it’s better than the second day which I got nothing because of rain and I am pretty happy that I’ve got the photos! Yay. Lovely, still, right?

  • Singapore: Day 1 At The Marina Bay Sands Resort

Singapore: Day 1 At The Marina Bay Sands Resort

Singapore: Day 1 At The Marina Bay Sands Resort – Singapore, oh Singapore, it’s like my another home now. I was there like 2 months ago! And now I am there again. It’s my fourth time in Singapore for this year and in my mind, Singapore is just another part of Malaysia. HAHA.

Entertainment on the Aeroline coach. I guess I almost finish all the movie available.

I was very excited to go Singapore this time because my exam is over, I have no stress of assignment and the best part is to swim at one of the awesome-mest and tallest swimming pool in the world (at 57th floor of Marina Bay Sands Resort Singapore).

The trip to Singapore via a comfortable coach was tiring and long because of the freaking delayed at the immigration. Upon arriving at Harbour Front at 4pm, it took several change of subway to reach the Bayfront station (Harbour Front >Outram Park Interchange > Raffles Place Interchange > Marina Bay Interchange > Bayfront). Luckily, my brother guided me or else I will be spending extra time looking at the maps.

Interesting decor hanging at the atrium.
    Marina Bay Sands.
The view from the hotel room. Lots of vessels on the Singapore straits.

Parents were there earlier already, dropped my luggage and first thing was to eat to cure my freaking hungry stomach. My first meal was on the bus, the second meal is at the Rasa Pura food court of Marina Bay Sands, after meal and it’s swim time! This one was fun because this was long-waited for me. Visitors have to pay S$20 to visit and you can’t go to the swimming pool!

It was windy, chilly and I have no idea where the sun was. A toe into the water brings a series of chill up to my body. A quick dip into the water send of a shivering all over me and after a while, I got comfortable. It’s 57th floor and no doubt that it’s windy up there. The view was just magnificent, it’s crowded with kids, babes, uncles, and aunties, it’s so different from the busy city life of Singapore’s CBD, this is call resort.

Pepper Lunch, the same thing I ate when I was a t Rasa Pura 2 months back. =.=
    Brother.
Singapore, same shot everytime. This time with a proper camera, my Canon 60D.

Just a quick dip into the water then went to Rasa Pura again for dinner, nothing much cheap in MBS and that’s why the food court again. Window shop around Marina Bay Sands, visited the Louis Vuitton again, take photos of the Singapore’s city scape again (I’ve been doing the same thing everytime I go to Marina Bay Sands), and then I went to the swimming pool again with my brother, (again).

    Ze swimming pool at night.

Night time was fun because of the awesome night view, but it’s even colder than evening. I wonder why there’s no heater in the pool, perhaps to shoooo people away from it I guess.

Pool closes at 11pm and we went back to the hotel room to call it a day.

  • Sunset: Singapore City

    Sunset: Singapore City

Sunset: Singapore City – Travelled light and did not bit any big camera with me, the Panasonic Lumix LX5 is still bulky to fit into my jeans pocket so I only had a Samsung Galaxy S2 with me when I was in Singapore. So yeah, I found out that from Marina Bay Sands Boardwalk, you can get a little view of sun setting into the skyline of Singapore City. So yeah, again, the effect is kinda cool, when there’s blue sky and nice twilight.

Singapore: DBS Sailing By Marina Bay & Eason Chen’s DUO Concert

Space ship hotel and casino – Marina Bay Sands.

Singapore: DBS Sailing By Marina Bay & Eason Chen’s DUO Concert – Two weeks ago, I went to Singapore to check out…….. the Eason Chen’s DUO Concert! It’s the second time Eason Chen had the DUO Concert in Singapore, DUO Concert have been running for two years already, I guess Eason still haven’t earn enough $$ from it. O.o

    The sail with DBS logo.

    Brother and his lovely girlfriend.
    Brotherhood! =D

So Singapore, I came again! Something special for me this time because I went on on a sail ride on the water of Marina Bay! It’s fun because not many get a chance to sail on the bay and really need to thanks my brother’s girlfriend who is an employee for DBS Bank. It’s a special sailing event for DBS staffs and their family and friends only, so here we were on the sail. It was pretty windy that evening, so the sailing was pretty fast and fun.

    Ticket collection.
    Storm coming!
    Me… Haha.
    Waiting for Eason.

Unfortunately, storm came and we had to go back on shore quickly. We could heard Eason doing his rehearsal by the bay! Free songs before the concert started. Storm came and thunder rumblings around the sky of Singapore, heavy raining of cats and dogs from the heaven, it postponed the concert. Sucks. It’s a rain or shine event, located right outside of Marina Bay Sands, the stage overlooks the Singapore city but my free standing area was not favouring. Sucks again.

    Woooo, Ahhhh, Yooo, EASOOONN.

Rain or shine, it supposed to start at 8pm, but no idea what the event organizer was doing and delayed till 9++pm, queued an hour of it and that’s really bad. Eason came and started singing, some funny interaction between him and us, but then I saw the crowds at there were like not really high at all, feel sad for them lo. I heard that many of the people who came got free tickets from the casino as a reward, I wonder do they know who is Eason Chen or not. LOL.

After all, it was just OK-good concert to me, not because of the rain, but the crowds and the standing location, not forget to mention the event organizer too, lousy. Forget about it, I met Eason, and I sailed on the Marina Bay, the trip was good.

    ………………………………….So, yeah.

  • Brother’s Commencement @ NUS University Cultural Centre

Brother’s Commencement @ NUS University Cultural Centre – My big brother is now a real big brother! He has finally graduated from National University Of Singapore as of 2012 and he is now a truely professional working adult. I am so proud of him. It had been so many years that he went for studies in Singapore, more than 10 years already and time flies. I still remembered when I was still a little kid, following parents and him to Singapore for the first time long time ago.

Singapore, is now not stranger to us. I have visited Singapore for more than 10 times and it’s another familiar place to me. I went to his graduation ceremony few weeks back in one of the top university in Singapore and Asia – National University of Singapore. They called it Commencement (American-style) instead of convocation (British-style), it’s like a commencement to a new journey of life. Sounds cool. I was his personal photographer on that day, following him around to take photos of him with his friends.

At Universtiy Cultural Centre where the ceremony took place, it’s a sea of graduates in academical regalia, it invokes a feeling in me to study hard to wear on one in the future. Diploma is not enough for me, I shall go on to Honours Degree. =) Being knowledgeable and smart is just so cool!

Brother and his girlfriend from the same school and course.

Few more years for my turn but for now, study hard, live hard. Congratulates to my brother, Yikhung. =)

Singapore City Night View From Marina Bay Sands & Louis Vuitton Island Maison – I was in Singapore two weeks ago and that time, I’ve my tripod and camera with me! Unfortunately, I’ve forgotten to bring my wide-angle lens. AIYA! Anyway, it’s still good that I can set on slow shutter speed and put it on tripod, and shoot a few cool Singapore night scene.

Singapore City Night View From Marina Bay Sands

I’ve got to say that Singapore’s cityscape is really very awesome, comparable to Hong Kong, Shanghai and other big city already. Malaysia? Sorry, I don’t find a similar good one. The buildings in Malaysia are so spread out far away.

The nicest spot to see Singapore’s city is from Marina Bay Sands, the bay front area near the Louis Vuitton Island Maison. The view is just simply splendid. The photo would be perfect if I’ve bought along my wide angle, but nevermind, Singapore is like just an hour flight away.

The Louis Vuitton Island Maison is very very cool. The whole glass island structure specially dedicated to Louis Vuitton sports a retail showroom and museum gallery of Louis Vuitton products. Man! It’s just so awesome! Feeling jealous of Singapore already.

Singapore: New iPad, A&C, Marutama Ra-Men – Hello friends, I am back again! Went for a break lately as I was busy settling stuff to go back to Kuala Lumpur and I went to Singapore last weekend! I went there to collect my new Apple iPad, and also to visit my brother, walk walk & eat eat.

Now I go to Singapore almost every year, or once a few months, I don’t really know what’s nice to do at there. Mostly, just walkaround the same spot e.g. Orchard Road, Vivo City, and eat.

Singapore: New iPad, A&C, Marutama Ra-Men

I took the bus Aeroline from Sunway and I arrived in Singapore in the afternoon. Headed to my brother place right away in NUS and then I started molesting the new iPad. It, just feel so right and good, and sexy, but not really lighter than the old iPad a lot. Didn’t really get to play much about it as it was getting late.

There was a Dance Central Kinect competition going.

We went to Orchard Road for a while to check out some sleeve for the iPad. Brother brought me to Abercrombie & Fitch shop at Orchard Road, it’s so damn cool in it, the interior is very dark, products are shine by spotlight and music is as loud as in the club, you get a free Instax photo with the man model at there too.

    Marutama Ra-Men, Clarke Quay

Then we headed to Clarke Quay for dinner at a ramen restaurant – Marutama Ra-Men. It’s located in Central Shopping Mall. Brother told me they serve awesome authentic ramen.

Kakuni ($6) – Pork belly, it’s just so fattening, yet so delicious. You just can’t go without the juicy and succulent fat part.

Namuru ($4) – Pickles radish as appertizer, very sour.

Singapore: New iPad, A&C, Marutama Ra-Men
In-house special – Marutama Ra-men ($12) with extra Ajitsuke Tamago ($1). The soup tasted very sweet and the ra-men noodle is very springy which I like. You can find char siu and plenty of seaweed in it. Best part is the additional Ajitsuke Tamago which is half boiled seasoned egg, the yolk is just half boiled and the white is a full boiled. Yums.

Singapore Trip: Holland Village & Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao

Singapore Trip: Holland Village & Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao – One of the place I visited during my Singapore trip few months back was Holland Village, the small town that has many nice restaurants. Brother recommended the supper all-you-can-eat steamboat buffet with unlimited Xiao Long Bao at Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao restaurant which starts at 10pm. We actually made a reservation, it’s better to make a reservation as it gets crowded during this session.

#2: Part of the road is closed at night for pedestrian walking.

    #4.

Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao is located in Holland Village, Singapore. We took a cab from NUS main campus and we arrived in just a few minutes. It’s pretty close. We wander around the place while waiting 10pm to arrive. We were there pretty early.

#5: Clean power box. Ours are full with advertisement on loanshark, viagra ads and more.

    #6.

When 10pm reached, we went into the restaurant, the restaurant actually made our book wrong and had our book written on the yesterday page, after some discussion, they manage to get us a seat on the upper floor. Steamboat is served with two version of soup that we’ve ordered – pork bone soup and vegetable soup with lots of parsley.

Besides eating steamboat, there’s unlimited order of nice Shanghai Xiao Long Bao and desserts like toufu hau which runs out pretty quickly.

I ate more Xiao Long Bao than steamboat that night and came out with a full stomach. Yum yum.
