  • First Day To Watch 3D At W Cinemax At Island Plaza

    First Day To Watch 3D At W Cinemax At Island Plaza

    Hohoho, Penang island now have a new cineplex at Island Plaza, which add into the family of Golden Screen Cinema at Gurney Plaza and Queensbay Mall, Cathay Cineplex at Prangin Mall and soon to open Tanjung Golden Village at First Avenue.

    Last time, there’s actually a Mega Pavilion cineplex at Island Plaza but closed down after few years and few years later, the cinema business at there is back and I have a new place to go.

    What’s so special about this W Cinemax is that it shows 3D movie mostly and only one or two normal film.

    So I came back last Thursday, it’s officially opened on Thursday 4/11/2010 and you know I like new stuff and just nice that I was back home, I went there with my girlfriend to catch up a old 3D film, The Child Eye.

    There are only 3 cinema hall and very cute thing is they named it as X, Y, Z instead of the 1, 2, 3, 4. Since it’s promotion, the ticket is only RM10 and it’s very cheap for a 3D film when compare to GSC or TGV. I have no idea what’s the original ticket rate though, hopefully it’s cheap.

    Hueisean. =)

    W, X, Y, Z! =D Have you been there already?

  • The Other Guys Preview Screening Contest

    The Other Guys Preview Screening Contest

    Oh yeah. I just realised that there’s so many movie tickets contest here in Kuala Lumpur. Wonder why there’s no such contest in my hometown, Penang. But anyway, I am here to join the contest to win a pair of movie tickets by Xiangcool.com and courtesy of Adverlets.com.

    http://www.advertlets.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/theotherguys-movie.jpg

    Let’s start up with why I wanna watch the movie, The Other Guys basically because I like New York City as the scene is set in the great big apple. You know I love NYC so much and I even dream about a few times during my sleep. Then this movie is some sort of action plus comedy movie because you see the actor, there’s The Rock Dwayne Johnson, Will Ferrel the funny guy, Mark Wahlberg the cool one, Samuel L. Jackson and more! =)

    Have been checking out the cinema this two weeks and there’s no nice movie to watch and the coming weeks, The Other Guys is something more interesting to me.

    The movie is about detectives and crime in New York City. Talking about this, I think hiring more and more NYPD will reduce to crime rate in NYC. Easy and simple right. More and more police, more and more on the street and distribute everywhere then NYC is ownage already. LOL. Very lame.

  • I Want To Watch Step Up 3D

    I love dance movie and Step Up has finally come to the 3rd series and it’s in 3D. I am so excited for the release next week and going to watch it at Tropicana City Mall, anyone want to join me? =D

    Step Up 3D is a 2010 American 3D dance film written by Amy Andelson and Emily Meyer and directed by Step Up 2 the Streets Jon Chu. The sequel sees the return of Adam Sevani and Alyson Stoner, who portrayed Moose from Step Up 2 the Streets and Camille Gage from Step Up, respectively. (Wikipedia)

    Sharing a little bit sypnosis about the movie:

    New York’s intense street dancing underground comes alive in eye-popping Digital 3D in the third installment of the STEP UP franchise as the raw, passion-fueled culture goes global. A tight-knit group of street dancers, including Luke (RICK MALAMBRI) and Natalie (SHARNI VINSON), team up with NYU freshman Moose (ADAM SEVANI), and find themselves pitted against the world’s best breakdancers in a high-stakes showdown that will change their lives forever.

    Well you know I like New York and this movie is again set in New York and I get to see my dream city in the movie, somemore lots of nice music and dances. The only problem of me is that I like to see people dance but I couldn’t dance. Didn’t have to confidence to learn how to dance. So you think you can dance? I cannot. Haha. Anyway, I am just feeling excited about this movie so just sharing the trailer with you guys.

    Anyway, I get free tickets to the movie this Wednesday at Tropicana City Mall, Golden Screen Cinema, courtesy of Xiangcool.com and Advertlets.com. Thank you the very much! =D

  • Watched Once A Gangster at Gurney Plaza

    Watched Once A Gangster at Gurney Plaza

    Last Monday, Yiphing was back from her NS camp on MC reason, then she didn’t stay at home to rest till she’s fully recover and insisted us to watch movie together so we went to watch Once A Gangster 飞沙风中转 at Gurney Plaza. It was Monday and there’s not many people in the cinema and I like it, no need to queue and nice seats for us. By the way, ignore Arron’s emo face below, he was not really emo. XD

    Arron, emo, not!

    Another good thing about watching movie on weekdays, before 6pm is that, it’s cheap! RM6 for student and RM7 for normal tickets. Yeah, and now I am trying to watch movies on weekdays or movie day (Wednesday) instead of weekends already.

    The movie was funny but somehow, some friends didn’t understand it’s a comedy. I knew it was a comedy at first and quite a long time didn’t watch Hong Kong film already, so was kinda looking forward to it and it didn’t disappoint me. =D

  • What I Think About 82nd Oscars

    I woke up pretty early today, not very early, at 9am exactly, washed up, then lay my lazy ass on the comfy couch and turned the satellite TV to the channel broadcasting 82nd Annual Academy Awards, a.k.a. Oscars. This is my first time watching a LIVE telecast of Oscars and I am a fan of movie and film. I didn’t watch all the 10 nominated Best Motion Pictures, but have watched Avatar, District 9, The Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds, Up and Up In The Air.

    The event was so grand and I imagine myself, one day being at the event, as an invited guest or perhaps a behind-the-scene filmmaker? I’m dreaming definitely. Haha.

    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhQdJTlo5NI&w=500&h=307]

    Well, the result is out. The Hurt Locker by top director, James Cameron’s ex wife Kathryn Bigelow had it big, won the Best Motion Pictures. IMO, I don’t like it, perhaps Oscars winning pictures are always like that? The film does has its special and arts, the blast and booms were nice, the story is special, the acting, but just it’s not an enjoyable one. Maybe because it’s about the US Army, it’s talking about patriotism? I don’t know.

    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1_JBMrrYw8&w=500&h=307]

    Everyone was talking about Avatar, I don’t find it very interesting though, but I find it very AMAZING, it amazed me with the 3D, the music, the way of making and the animation. It does feel hollywood to me.

    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUV-bTqm5ss&w=500&h=307]

    I like Inglourious Basterds, nice film, nice acting, hilarious and historical with lame fictional fact. This is also the film that made me know that who is Quentin Tarantino.

    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7k6FwXJhNk&w=500&h=307]

    Up in the Air was boring to me, maybe I don’t know the way of enjoying it, but it’s nice being nominated.

    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z57b_-aD0Zc&w=500&h=307]

    District 9 was un-hollywood too. A documentary style film, could be a new style of making film and I find no reason disliking it.

    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7kW0mUzIDI&w=500&h=307]

    Up, the animation was an art. I do feel the art, and the story was inspiring. I understand why it did not get the best film. =D

    I didn’t watch the rest like An Education, A Serious Man, Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire, and The Blind Side. Gonna check it out soon when HD releases.

    Another thing I would like to say, the most enjoyable film but was not nominated in 2009 is Star Trek.^^

    Do you like The Hurt Locker?
