Seremban: Empayar Seremban Siew Bao City 芙蓉烧包城

Seremban: Empayar Seremban Siew Bao City 芙蓉烧包城 – Every time you drive passed Seremban toll, confirm you will notice a big building writing EMPAYAR SEREMBAN SIEW POW or in Chinese 芙蓉烧包城 which literally means Seremban Siew Bao CITY! You think it’s huge right?

I went there while on the way back from Muar to buy a couple of Siew Bao to eat as I’ve never tried before. Moreover, Seremban is super famous for their Siew Bao. Siew Bao is barbecue-pork-filled crispy Chinese biscuit. Surprisingly, upon arriving here, the Siew Bao section is just a small part of the place and the place sells more than just Siew Bao. They have Chinese seafood, and some other local confectionery, it feels very weird to me.

Anyway, bought Chicken Siew Bao and Pork Siew Bao from there and ate it on the spot since it’s still freshly baked and hot. They both tasted very yummy. It’s not so awesome when it’s cold so I recommend that if you can, eat it right away, either way, heat it when you got back home.

  • Seremban: Good Lao Shu Fen @ Pasar Besar

Seremban: Good Lao Shu Fen @ Pasar Besar

Seremban: Good Lao Shu Fen @ Pasar Besar – Last weekend, I went down south for a little food and getaway trip with Clarice. The first stop of the trip was Seremban, hoping that I could get my mouth on the famous Hakka Mee at the Pasar Besar Seremban which I missed out last time.

Very big market. Pasar Besar Seremban.
The wet market area on ground floor.
Famous Tow Kee Hakka Mee, so sad, sold out already.

I arrived there about 11.30am with the help of GPS. I wander my way to the first floor of the big market where all the food stalls are and search for the Tow Kee Hakka Mee among the super many stalls, very sad, very unfortunately, the friendly staff told me that it’s sold out, oh that’s sad. It’s not only us that got dispersed away, there’s some other people who was looking for Hakka Mee too.

Stall 735 is the Ah Di Lao Shu Fen.
Lovely and small small bowl of dry lao shu fen.

Nevertheless, I went to look for some other food, asked around and found out the the Lao Shu Fen is good too! So we went to order a bowl to try it out. It’s just a small meal before heading to Malacca for more good Malaccan food.

It was a small bowl of Dry Lao Shu Fen (silver needle noodle) with plenty of minced meat, a bit of welsh onion, and their special soy sauce. It’s quite nice in my opinion, not too salty and just nice. Best of all, it’s only RM3 per bowl. Awesome.

  • Quiet Seremban Town

    Quiet Seremban Town

Quiet Seremban Town – Two weeks ago, I drove all the way to Singapore with my family. It was lunch time and we passed by Seremban, wanting to go into the little town to look for lunch. It’s actually my second time visiting Seremban. We went there before few years ago but couldn’t find any good food and this time, we went there to have a try again.

    Quiet Seremban Town

I’ve heard that there has good Hakka Mee @ Tou Kee, I followed the GPS to the place. Unfortunately it’s not opened. We tried to look for other food around the town but still there’s nothing look interesting and most of the shops were closed, on a Friday afternoon. I wonder why the town is so quiet during a weekday?

Seremban is really very small and under-develop in my opinion. Anyone from there or know about there would like to introduce some nice good eating place? =D
