Dinner At Jogoya Japanese Buffet, Starhill – Jogoya Japanese Buffet restaurant is as the name stated, a Japanese buffet centric restaurant based in the premium shopping mall, Starhill Gallery in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur. Besides this outet at Starhill, there’s another one outlet in Taipei’s tallest building – Taipei 101.

I have been wanting to go try out this place and finally I had a chance to visit and dine out at there. The price is RM88++ per person which is more likely an international buffet rather than a standalone Japanese food buffet. Japanese food is of course the main food that you can find in there, but there’s still other choice like Chinese food, Thai food and Western Food.

First thing first was of course getting must stomach half filled with delicious Japanese sashimi and fresh raw oyster which I don’t really eat in normal days. They are my all-time favourite. After trying out the Japanese section with sushi, sashimi, teppanyaki, Japanese steamboat and other Japanese food, only then I move on to try some other Asian dishes like Chinese food, Thai food. And lastly, went back to a little bit of Japanese food.

The only section that I didn’t try out was Western corner which I was not really interested in it.

RM88++ is indeed worthwhile but somehow, I bet you couldn’t try all the dishes in there with over 200 dishes to choose from.

Well, in taste wise, it may not be the super delicious, but somehow reach the standard of good-to-eat. Eating buffet is not really a comfortable thing to me because stomach get full and bloated after eat, shouting for how full it is after that. Somehow, it’s a good experience for me.

It’s a PORK FREE restaurant means it’s a halal restaurant, however there’s alcohol like red and white wine. There’s some section which you drop a small clip with your table number for the food you want and they will cook it and send to your table.

Besides, there’s various of desserts for you to choose from with many variety of pudding, cake, Haagen Dazs and New Zealand Natural Ice Cream, ice kacang and more. They do have promotion from time to time. Sometimes is buy-1-get-1-free for lunch section, now they have a promotion of 2nd customer get 50% off, but then it’s only available for lunch.

Check out the website for more and now it’s time to enjoy the photos that I have taken after my meal. =D

Fresh korean oyster. It’s really succulent and juicy which makes it feels good in the mouth as if it’s swimming in there. The icy cold oyster flush down my throat and gave a boom to me. Yum. I wonder why Korean’s oyster though? Why not other country’s oyster.

  • Nice Durian Pancake By Sumptuous Desserts

It’s autumn, it’s September already and the super awesome durian seaon has finally over. However, it doesn’t mean that you cannot eat durian right now, there’s still durian out there, it’s just that not many and the price is pretty expensive now, and you need to go around to find, it’s not as easy to find during durian season like there are stalls everywhere.

Nice Durian Pancake By Sumptuous Desserts

Recently, I came across with something call the durian pancake. I have heard about durian cake before but this is my first time encounter with durian pancake. I was invited by the co-founder of Sumptuous Desserts to try out their durian pancake at Sunway Pyramid. It’s located right behind the McDonald’s ice cream kiosk and I wonder why I didn’t notice about it every time I passed by last time.

Let’s check out the menu first and see the price and what interested you. =)

As you can see, they have quite a variety of pancake, mainly durian and cempedak, there’s also mango too, as well as special made cream puff which had been localized.

So, durian pancake is basically is a thin layer, very thin layer of pancake skin, wrapping the delicious yummy real durian cream with a bit of white cream. Sounds interesting right? But how it taste like and how is the texture and experience?

I want to share with you guys a very cool thing is that the texture, the feeling, the experience is just almost the same, 95% same like eating the real king of fruit – durian, just without the big seed. It tasted the same, with the sweet, strong odor yellow durian cream inside, a little bit mixture of white cream makes the durian pancake a fruitful experience for durian lover like me.

The durian pancake is best to serve right out of the fridge when it’s icy cold because it makes eating durian fun and chilling in a hot and tropical country of Malaysia.

A little cool information is that the durian cream is extrated from high quality D24 durian. In term of the content level, the pancake consist of 34g of real durian cream and 28g of white cream. Sounds yum yum right?

I did try cempadak pancake too, the cempadak taste was there but somehow I am more into the durian pancake.

    Have you tried before?
