  • Chilling, Just Chilling At Bora-Bora, Batu Ferringhi

Chilling, Just Chilling At Bora-Bora, Batu Ferringhi

The government has just announced another round of CMCO (Conditional Movement Control Order), me being deprived from travelling locally and overseas has been making me a little depressed. Gladfully, there’s still a good spot in Penang to chill myself off these crazy time.

Sipping of icy cold beer and chomping on crunchy pizza, while the sun sats faraway into the beautiful horizon has reminded me Penang has a beautiful beach; Bora-Bora Batu Ferringhi is not an uncommon name and they has been around for quite a long time.

While cafe hopping was a fun thing to do and kill times, I find that the beach is equally good, or even better. I like the salty wind hitting on my face, the laughter of children building sand castle and the beach vibe playlist from Bora-Bora made my Saturday evening really great. Perhaps it’s the lack of patron that amplified the entire chill time, though I do still hope that business to be back to usual as soon as possible.

A quick shout out to the food, the Hawaiian Pizza was sweet and crunchy enough to made us a good dinner meal.

When can we go travel again?

  • Trip To Penang: Batu Ferringhi Beach

Trip To Penang: Batu Ferringhi Beach

Trip To Penang: Batu Ferringhi Beach – Site analysis for assignment done! Now head to the beach, for some leisure time. It’s quite random and weird for a big group of people to head to the beach without a proper swim wear and the duration was just 2 hours. Some of the international students did really go for the water sports which cost as high as RM50-RM100. I don’t really know about the pricing as I was just camwhoring around with my friends, enjoying the sea breeze and seeing the other class of students parasailing and banana boating. Interesting! I want to play water sports, but not in Penang’s beach, Phuket maybe?
By the way, look back to this, it’s funny also, because 3PM under the scorching hot sun, at the beach, nothing to do.
Headcount: Me, Arvin, Jia Hui, Steve and Wesley. These faces will appear throughout the post. So one time of headcount is enough. =D
    Jump one. Looking funny. HAHA
Jump two and I like my jump!

    Ouchhhh.
    …….. What poses are these?

  • Beautiful Sunset At Batu Ferringhi, Penang

Beautiful Sunset At Batu Ferringhi, Penang

Beautiful Sunset At Batu Ferringhi, Penang – Have been looking for some good sunset viewing spot in Penang lately. Batu Ferringhi is not the best place to see sunset but still not bad. You can see the sun set until the hill of the national park area. The best sunset spot I think is at Balik Pulau area where you can see the sunset below the horizon.

Recently, I went to Batu Ferringhi, at the beach outside Hard Rock Hotel to enjoy the sunset with Hueisean, as well as to photograph it. It’s so calm during that time when there’s less people at the beach. The beach outside Hard Rock Hotel is also cleaner too!

    Horse riding at the beach.

    The ivory sandy beach.

    无边无际, sea with no boundary.

Hueisean was chasing the birds happily.

    The sun was getting down.

    Half-way down.

    Me. HAHAHA

  • Lover’s Isle, Batu Ferringhi

    Lover’s Isle, Batu Ferringhi

Lover’s Isle, Batu Ferringhi – Lovers’ Isle is actually a batu (rock) outcrop near to Batu Ferringhi. Long long time ago, this little isle is the landmark for seafarers of old to stopover for a fresh supply of water from the nearby river. Local Malays called the seafarers ferringi, and later then because of this rock, Batu Ferringhi is now Batu Ferringhi.

I’ve no idea why Lover’s Isle is named, but then Lover’s Isle is actually another name for Batu Ferringhi. Yesterday, I passed by the place while on the way to the national park, curiously stopped by to take a few photograph of Lover’s Isle. The place is very rocky and dirty.

There’s name of lovers on the rock.

    Beach near to Lover’s Isle.

  • Batu Ferringhi Night Market and Hard Rock Hotel with Chien Chern

Batu Ferringhi Night Market and Hard Rock Hotel with Chien Chern

After going to the Region 1 Leo Club farewell thingy by the beach, I found out it’s still early and I have a feeling of going to Batu Ferringhi. I have no idea why I like Batu Ferringhi so much lately. Then I realised Chien Chern lived in Batu Ferringhi so I called him out for a walk.

Never knew that it’s so jam on a Saturday night, traffic was super duper slow, I guess it’s because of the Sixty9ine Mansion. So if you want to go there on a Saturday night, go at 9pm and slowly jam until 10pm when you will reach there.

I have not go to the night market at Batu Ferringhi for quite a long time although it’s like 15 minutes drive from my house only. Now all who go there are like tourists from the Middle East, even the worker who operate the stalls are not locals. Stuff selling there are always the expected fake LV, Gucci, Burberry and more which I didn’t even bother to take a look. Specs and DVDs are good buy at there IMO. Hehe.

Was thinking of going into Sixty9ine to take a look but it was so freaking full and crowded and have to wait. So we decided to go another place and that’s one of my favourite too, Hard Rock Hotel! Rocks.

There’s many of don’t know where from, Indonesian Malay I assumed and a Malay live band on the hotel lobby. Pretty cool.

    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnoYNt-f2UE&w=640&h=505]

One of the song they sang was Hijau, which reminded me about NS life. I guess those who have been to NS will know about this song.

    LOL. Lame and vain.

  • Batu Ferringhi With Chien Chern and Cheong Kin

Batu Ferringhi With Chien Chern and Cheong Kin

I don’t know why recently my ass is so naughty and couldn’t stick still to the chair. For some night, I felt like going out for some fresh air and not staying at home. And my recent favourite place is Batu Ferringhi, a beach like 15 minutes from my home.

Last time I usually will go to town or go to pasar malam at Jelutong but suddenly feel like going to Batu Ferringhi, thinking of getting out of the busy city to a tourist area, more peace, more fun. Haha.

It was a Wednesday night and I asked Cheong Kin who stays in Tanjung Bungah and Chien Chern who stays in Batu Ferringhi out for a little boys chit-chat night and meet-up before I leave Penang. We actually didn’t know where to go. No night market walking because I went there a week before with Chien Chern already. I wanted a place with cheap drinks, with peoples and a cool environmnet, but hardly find any at Batu Ferringhi, especially one with cheap drinks.

People have been talking about the Sixty9ine Mansion, a pub/bistro with swimming pool and lots of sofa, and also DJ for music. It’s a nightlife place, not really a club but it’s a cool hang out place for youngster. I’ve never been there before, curious and we decided to went in to check it out.

It’s pretty but there’s not many people maybe it’s still early. Walked around but didn’t want to look for a seat because we knew it’s expensive, mostly liquor in the menu. No chicks, we only boys, where fun? Haha.

Took some photos and now at least I can tell people I went in before, for photos. LOL. Anyway, if there’s chance, I wanna go there again, for drinks of course.

Right after we left, people like starting to flow in. I thought it’s ladies night and there would be many people but not. Maybe because it’s weekdays and people lazy to go until Batu Ferringhi which is pretty far. If you go there on a Saturday, it’s freaking full and the whole Batu Ferringhi is so jam because of this Sixty9ine.

In the end, we went to Sunset Bistro for drinks, and man’s talk. There’s people curious of what’s man’s talk. Simple, man’s topic – girls, what else? Gaming? Haha. This visit can say it’s my second time going there, the first time was very long time ago already. But have to say, this place is cool! Like it.

    Chien Chern.

    Charging my gadget.

    Cheong Kin.

Although it’s still not the cheapest place we’ve found, but it’s OK already because there’s no more cheap place in Batu Ferringhi. It’s a tourist area and we can expect nothing. Any idea or recommendation of chit-chat place with cheap drinks? Haha.

  • Short Visit to Hard Rock Hotel

Short Visit to Hard Rock Hotel

Yay! I’ve finally been to the Hard Rock Hotel at Batu Ferringhi, Penang! It’s my first time but it’s not an official visit. Why? Because I didn’t stay long at there and didn’t take many photos. Was planning to go somewhere else with Jin Xin and Huan Sheng that night, passed by Hard Rock Hotel so went in to take a look.

Although didn’t take many photos, I can now tell people that I’ve been there before already.

    Let’s carry this Be@rbrick home.

The interior really rocks, many things to see and have live band playing live music at the lobby. My friend told me that the live band in Hard Rock cafe rocks more than the one in the lobby, but still, they were awesome.

Just one sad thing is that Hard Rock Cafe is only open for above 21, and I am only 17, going 18 soon! There’s one trick and that is eating dinner at there before the live band starts and stay in the cafe till the band is here. Then you’ll pass the ID check. Didn’t try before though.

    Lights on my ass. LOL.

What rocks the most is the fibre optic lights at the main entrance. The color keep changing and it shows the Hard Rock logo. Prettyful! =D

    Me and Jin Xin.

Find one fine day, I’m gonna go there again, to take many many photos, of course, it will be when my broken lens came back from service and thanks Huan Sheng for the photos. =)
