Maryland Fried Rice and Roti Hawaii at Murni Discovery, Aman Suria

The mamak look so not mamak. It’s so modern and it’s 2 levels.

After I come to KL to study, I always hear people talking about SS2 Murni, delicious, mamak and stuff. I was curious then, I thought it’s a mamak like Penang’s Abu which makes me excited because currently I am craving for Abu’s maggi goreng ayam. So one fine night, I went to check out Murni, I went to Aman Suria’s outlet instead because SS2’s was closed for renovation few months back. Thanks to Google Maps, I found the place. =D

It’s pretty excited to see there’s so many people and tables and chairs on the road were also full of people.

After checking out the menu, I felt it’s so unlike Abu, instead they have super huge variety of food, from Malay to Western to Chinese food. It’s fusionized and all halal of course. Surprised to see that the waiter who takes order uses a PDA to take order, really very high tech.

They have a wide variety of beverages too. I ordered a medium Ribena Special, which is Ribena in ice blended with nata de coco and longan. So icy chilling cool. =D

Then here’s my food. I ordered a Nasi Goreng Maryland. It’s fusion of malay fried rice and western food. There’s the fried rice, a sunny egg, french fries, prawn crackers and deep fried chicken maryland. Really big portion and please eat it when you are very hungry. RM15 for this thing. The fried rice is OK but the chicken maryland was good.

Then my girlfriend ordered a Roti Hawaii which is one of the special food in Murni. Murni is quite famous for these roti this and that stuff like roti beckham, roti jepun, roti salad and more. It’s different from normal roti canai as they stuffed the roti canai with many ingrediet like the Roti Hawaii, it has sausage, minced meat and egg. RM5.50 for this. Quite special. You should try this.

I have been to Murni for quite some times and already feel a bit bored yet I think it’s the best mamak place to me at the moment until I find a new one, though I still like Abu in Penang more for the maggi goreng. Can’t find a good maggi goreng in Klang Valley, any recommendation?

By they way, Murni have a Facebook page.
