    Penang Bridge 2 In Progress

Penang Bridge 2 In Progress – Hello people, sorry for being away for so long, life is just so busy with school and my blog actually got hacked but some stupid people recently and now what you are seeing is a new theme for my blog. Well, guess where am I, I am back to my lovely hometown – Penang!

Gonna enjoy this short 3 weeks holiday to the max in this city, find all my friends, spend time with girlfriend, family and explore more new stuff in Penang!

Today, I was cruising along Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Highway to Batu Maung and spotted the Penang Second Bridge in progress, parked the car by the roadside and went to check it out. It looks very magnificent and is looking forward towards its completion.

It’s gonna be the longest bridge in South East Asia but sad that there’s one have to pay toll to cross that bridge. Since it’s long, you are gonna burn more fuel too. HAHA. How I wish there’s a undersea tunnel on the other end of the Penang island. One more thing, it’s expected to complete in November 2013, long way to go!

Video: Cleaner Greener Penang - 'Use Recycled Bag'

Video: Cleaner Greener Penang – ‘Use Recycled Bag’ – The Pakatan Rakyat Penang State Government has recently uploaded a few video on their Youtube channel to show what they have done for Penang since 2008’s general election. One of their effort is to create a cleaner, greener Penang with promoting ‘No Plastic Bag Day’.

    [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dezDrybEWdQ]

At first I was kinda uncomfortable with the initiatives because I always forgotten to bring my own recycled bag. But later, I get used to it. Mom’s handbag always has a small recycled bag, and in the car too. If really really forgotten to bring, just pay extra RM0.20 which contributes to the charity, not bad right?

In Selangor, it’s only Saturday, but in Penang, it’s everyday! That’s good also, save the environment. =) Next, keep Penang really clean, no littering around. =)

Brand New Island Plaza Coming In 2012 – Seems like there’s many developments are going on around Penang, residential, commercial block and more! The once a glory Island Plaza has been through down time for several years and it’s under renovation to revamp into a brand new mall, opening in 2012.

Woohoo! Means there will be more shopping malls to shop in Penang already and I believe the renovation is needed to compete the opening of Gurney Paragon in 2012! Looking forward or not?

Drainage Upgrading And Widening In George Town, Penang

Drainage Upgrading And Widening In George Town, Penang – If you are driving or walking around town, you will see many of this digging and constructing work going around by the roadside. It’s the upgrading work of the drainage by widening it for a better flood control in the city.

I don’t know why some of the NGOs (Non-governmental organisations) are so stubborn and troublesome. They complain that the this upgrading work by the Penang state government should not be done as the drains were part of Penang’s heritage.

Funny right? It’s very ridiculous and since when the UNESCO classifies the drain as part of the heritage element list? Come on, it’s just a drain. If there’s flood, who’s gonna blame? Some, I mean some, NGOs is some times No Brain Organizations, their jobs is just to complain, without looking into the matter seriously.
