Happy 49th Birthday Malaysia!!

Written by Nicholas Chan on August 31, 2006 – 3:17 am -

Malaysia as we know it today is a thriving developing country, often considered a “role model” by its Southeast Asian neighbours for its economic and political stability, multicultural harmony and steady progress. 31st August 2006 marks the 49th year of this country’s independence from British colonialism and the day the joyful, triumphant shouts of “Merdeka, Merdeka, Merdeka!” resonated throughout the nation as Malaya’s first Prime Minister, Allahyarham Tunku Abdul Rahman stood on a podium at Merdeka Square doing the same.

The name Malaya was then changed to Malaysia when the country was officially made a federation of 13 states including Sabah and Sarawak. Article 1(1) of the Federal Constitution states that “The federation shall be known, in Malay and English, as Malaysia”. Although Singapore broke away and became a nation of its own in 1965, the rest of the states have remained firmly together, combining to make Malaysia the harmonious melting pot of cultures it is today.

Fast Facts about Malaysia:

Normal Caps - First of all, I gonna say Happy Birthday to Malaysia, or Happy Merdeka Day to everyone. “Merdeka” is a Malay word, meaning Independence. When Malaysia got their independence on 31st August 1957 and so today is Malaysia’s 49th Birthday. I had already done 2 podcast on National Day, and if I still got time, I may do 1 more podcast, the National Day Edition. Hahaha. I slept late, really really late last night, around x o’clock and then I woke up very early, not very actually, haha, woke up at 9am today, and then I went to Yum Cha with my family and relatives because today is a public holiday. Not-as-usual, today, I gonna stay at home, and play computer games and watch those DVDs that I bought which I haven’t watch, also do my school works and if free, do a part 2 of National Day Edition. Talking about yesterday, National Day Eve, as usual, I went to school, and surprisingly they got no celebration, WtH?!There should be a celebration in any school, maybe this they only celebrate tomorrow?I don’t know, even if got celebration, it will be boring, I guess. At 12.00am last night, from my room window, I saw the fireworks from far away, which was from Esplanade, luckily I stay in a high-rise building, so I get to see the not-very-beautiful fireworks. Anyway, I don’t see much thing in here, my dad still go to work on a public holiday, still one day public holiday, heard that next year, 50th National Day, we student will get a week holidays, wonder is a real a not. If that rumor is real, it will be way to funnnnn. Went to the bookstore and got myself two copies of tech magazine, MAX IT and T3, I like T3 because they got those sexy model holding those gadgets, haha. Both mags all together RM14 only, not expensive though, enough to update my tech news. My school’s Drama Club will having a Inter-school-drama-team Drama Competition next week, although I’m not a Drama Club member, just asking you guys who are interest watching the competition, go to the school hall next Saturday which is 9th September, special guest of the event is Gary, not Gary Chao Ge, is Gary from Malaysia’s local TV station, 8TV’s E-News. I don’t know what it call, in Mandarin, call Zhu Chi Ren, in English I think is Host of the Show. I seldom watch 8TV so I don’t very know about him. Now, I going to get my ass into uploading yesterday recorded podcast onto the net. Enjoy your Merdeka Day and Have a nice day too!

Written by Nicholas Chan on August 27, 2006 – 3:41 pm -

sunday, 11.37pm, 27 august 2006. - my short school holidays, 1 week holiday or summer break ended. not summer actually, haha, it’s winter in australia, but in malaysia is all year summer. i need to get my lazy ass of the computer and back to school. fuck!i’m getting test result which is all red i guess, you might expecting me getting good result, but i’m not this time, but will next exam =), i won’t disappoint you next time. i just finish doing my podcast, check it out later, i will post it here. how’s ur holidays?, i can’t say mine was bad, it’s great, i spent my holiday watching dvds and go to the cinema, became a movies freak in the holidays, haha. i liked action packed movie, comedy, blablabla. actually, i’m doing 2 things at the same, blog and packing my school bag, i lost some of my exercise paper i think, now i’m still finding it, if i really can’t find it, i’ll just be a dead meat barbeque, then eat by my school teacher. haha. luckily, teacher didn’t give homework, so i’m able to enjoy my damn short holiday. watched the dvd Munich today, long, nice movie, complicated as first, but no later, i understood the story. had an hour of sunset nap, then woke up had my dinner. clean up my room and now blogging. not much stuff to say just that my fucking friend are calling me up to join the game. so, have a nice day, and enjoy your so hot summer.

snakes freak me out

Written by Nicholas Chan on August 26, 2006 – 3:53 am -

Solid Snakes - Konami’s Metal Gear Solid 4 Character. Not This Snakes I want, but I want to play him!
SOAP Poster, Yeah! That’s the snakes I want. Correction : 24.08.06 Malaysia Screen Date.

small caps - so, i’ve watch snakes on a plane yesterday, code name : soap. staring samuel l. jackson which is really a good actor, he was in star wars, coach carter, xXx, s.w.a.t., and blablabla. i really not good at reviewing a movie, i watched it, and i give a score. firstly, i give it a 9/10, because the whole scene is on a plane, a some not-so-real stuff. 9/10 is really a great scores, and a great movie you should watch, thriller, horror, scary, action, what do you think?

the movie starts off when a guy, sean witness a murder at hawaii, the assasin tried to murder the sean, but some how he was saved by flynn(samuel), a fbi agent. flynn wants sean to fly to l.a. to testify the assasin, eddie kim. on a red eye flight to l.a., eddie’s man manage to locate hundreds of poisounous snakes in the cabin of the plane, and at a time, the crates which contain the snakes will release. and this is where the the movie started to feel scary. enjoy the fright.

my own summary of the movie, haha. spoiler warning ahead. there’s some part kinda un-logic, not real, but i can’t tell you where is it, you should watch it and you’ll know x). end of snakes talk. i can recognise some snakes in the plane, because i watched snakes show on discovery channel, haha. what else to say? yesterday, just went to watch snakes on a plane, and then i went home from the cinema, felt really sleepy yesterday, cause of i slept late 2 days ago, very late. and again, i got myself some dvds, i like spent MUCH on dvds, i’m gonna be broke. damn, i had already miss many nice psp games, i did mention MANY man, it’s not very little, if i get all of it, it will cost me a bomb!, but all of these can’t get it now, need to wait until end of year to get it, because in penang, there isn’t much game shop here, the choice of game is little. so now you know, i might gonna get to kuala lumpur to get games, there has variety places that sell games. =) it’s saturday right now, the mood of enjoy-the-holidays slowly go away, school lesson starting the day after tomorrow, my ugly, bad school result also will be know, will be facing very loud “not-nice-music” from my mum, homework, bored of packing school bags and many not fun stuff to do, but at least i get to school to play with friends, haha. so, haven’t do the podcast for the week yet, lazy to do it, but i will do it as soon as possible. end! x)
