It’s another run again, the last one was Penang City Run and this was a longer run which the route was 10km long. It’s again, the school wanted us to attend so I was there, to join the fun.
It’s 10KM and the route is Jalan Sepoy – Jalan Residensi – Jalan Macalister – Jalan Anson – Jalan Burma – Jalan Kelawai – Jalan Bagan Jermal – Jalan Gottlieb – Jalan Utama – Jalan Macalister – Jalan Sepoy (finish).
I woke up at 6.30am and arrived there at almost 7 and only found that the race had not started yet. Runners were gathering inside the school beside Padang Polo, SMK Padang Polo I assumed. Found my classmate, took the my shirt and changed it.
It’s not a big race event, it’s just for the avid runners to run, no big sponsors, no freebies, only a shirt. I paid RM7 for this and got only a certificate and a shirt. There’s even no Milo for me because they have ran out of it. It’s so lousy compare to the Penang City Run which I got free flow of Milo and some sort of isotonic drinks, free tshirt, free bottle, free tiger balm and free shampoo sample.
There’s always a lucky draw session in any of the running event here and it’s always a motorbike as a grand prize. Surprisingly, the grand prize went to my classmate Justin Ong who don’t have a driving license, but he had the luck for it. Great man.
Let’s back to something more friendly. I had a camera with me that day again, I had a bag slinging , thus I can’t run. I walked fast with some classmate, chatering a lot but photo-ing a little.
This is Arron, peace-ing in front of the over 200 years old tree near to Island Hospital. That’s a huge big tree but sadly there’s only one of this in Penang.
After the run, we get to go inside to the Governor’s house, the Seri Mutiara. I got no idea who the His Excellency the Head of State of Penang‘s governor is or was Tun Dato’ Seri Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Abbas. Still I got no idea who he is. I just got the name.
Normally, you don’t really get a chance to go inside to the governor’s house and that was my chance for once. It’s a big place, big field, big beautiful garden, mini little running stream but the house is not so fascinating. I am curious about how it looks like inside the house.
(Chien Chern on his camera.)
Now, I can tell people I went in to the Penang governor’s house before. Haha.
Feel free to check out GO – go.nickchan.net which I blog on the go, it’s live by the way.
