Just added a new lens into my camera gear. It’s the Tamron SP AF 17-50mm F/2.8 which will working or replacing my Canon general purpose lens. My previous, original, Canon’s so called Kit Lens is spoilt and sent back to service, moreover I was craving for this lens too and now I finally got it.
Now, I got no more red packet or ang pao because I spent it on this single tiny camera gear. The reason I chose this because the lens has a constant big aperture which is F/2.8 which means it will take in more light at a low light situation and so taking shots faster.
In the current market, there’s two prices for this lens, they got the AP set and the local distributor set. AP set is just like buying the handphone which people says it’s not original, it’s also known as parallel import set. The original one means the lens is get from the local distributor.
What it basically means is, AP set is cheaper, original set is more expensive. In term of warranty and service, you can’t send you lens to the local service center but instead back to the store where you bought it and from there they will send it back to where they have bought, and as for original, you can bring your lens to any local service center.
Because at some countries, lenses are cheaper and so they get their stock there instead of from local supplier. Since the warranty is still there, if there’s any problem, I can still send back to the store, I’ll stick with which is cheaper. =)
Check out the previous post which all the photos were taken with this lens.
