It started with a bad weather in Kuala Lumpur recently. Rain everyday when I was there a week ago. I was shopping at Suria KLCC with mom, dad dropped us there and he went to do something. Dad actually asked her to take the taxi back to Bukit Bintang to meet him but then the crazy taxi driver charges us like as if we were tourist for RM20, RM40, RM60. No metered taxi around and I had to just take the train to Bukit Bintang.
I believe many didn’t know that we actually had underground subway in Kuala Lumpur but don’t be happy about it yet, there’s only 5 underground station and the rest is on the ground. The underground station of KLCC is not under KLCC but opposite KLCC under Avenue K shopping mall. Luckily there’s an underground connection between this two mall.
The station is small, unlike the station in Hong Kong. It was so crowded with people queing up for tickets at the machine. You can actually use Touch N Go card for it but then I don’t know why those commuter rather queue in a long line for the tickets.
It’s so funny to see the window frame at the waiting area is so long but when the train comes, it’s actually half the length of it. The train is really very short with a few units. It’s nothing compare to the metro train in Singapore and Hong Kong. Save cost, corruption or what?
It was a 2 stop ride to Dang Wangi where I had to get off and go to the take the monorail to Bukit Bintang. There’s no LRT at Bukit Bintang area but only monorail.
The underground was so quiet ugly. I said ugly and yes it is.
It don’t even look like a LRT station on the outside. It’s so huge and it’s so small in it.
I’m very dissapointed that I still had to take a 5-10 minutes walk to the Bukit Nanas monorail station. For sure they didn’t plan their transportation well.
The truth behind the monorail station is, the station is dirty, there’s no ticket vending machine and there’s not a lot of people use the service. It’s more likely a fun ride for tourist. Damn. =)
