  • Hong Kong: Awesome Night View From The Peak

Hong Kong, View From The Peak

Hong Kong: Awesome Night View From The Peak – Something that I’ve stopped posting for quite some times and that’s my trip to China – Hong Kong last year. Suddenly remembered that I still have quite many thing about my travel to China to share, so I quickly sit in front of my computer and start looking for photos before I forget about it.

Hong Kong, View From The Peak

One of the nice experience in Hong Kong was heading to The Peak at night to check out the Hong Kong night view. I tell you, queuing up for the tram at night is a disaster, it could take you more than an hour for it as it’s a long queue, everyday! You can take the bus, if you know how to, or like us, we took the haggling cab waiting by the roadside. The cab charges 4 of us for HK$40 which I think pretty reasonable after some negotiation, as it brings us all the way up, and cutting all the long queue.

The temperature up there was superb, chilly, windy, cold. It’s very happenings up there, lots of people were taking photos of the spectacular view of Hong Kong from top. It’s just so awesome. At 8pm every night, there’s the light show, it’s weird that you see the light but you can’t hear any music like you can hear at the Avenue Of Star. Nevertheless, it’s worth to visit The Peak at night. I’ve been there in the morning before.

Singapore City Night View From Marina Bay Sands & Louis Vuitton Island Maison – I was in Singapore two weeks ago and that time, I’ve my tripod and camera with me! Unfortunately, I’ve forgotten to bring my wide-angle lens. AIYA! Anyway, it’s still good that I can set on slow shutter speed and put it on tripod, and shoot a few cool Singapore night scene.

I’ve got to say that Singapore’s cityscape is really very awesome, comparable to Hong Kong, Shanghai and other big city already. Malaysia? Sorry, I don’t find a similar good one. The buildings in Malaysia are so spread out far away.

The nicest spot to see Singapore’s city is from Marina Bay Sands, the bay front area near the Louis Vuitton Island Maison. The view is just simply splendid. The photo would be perfect if I’ve bought along my wide angle, but nevermind, Singapore is like just an hour flight away.

The Louis Vuitton Island Maison is very very cool. The whole glass island structure specially dedicated to Louis Vuitton sports a retail showroom and museum gallery of Louis Vuitton products. Man! It’s just so awesome! Feeling jealous of Singapore already.

China Trip – Shanghai: Beautiful Pudong City View And The Bund 上海夜景, 外滩夜景 (Day 4) – Previously, I stopped off at taking the Shanghai Ferry from Pudong across the Huangpu river and now I want you bring you to the promenade of The Bund to check out the fascinating night city view of Pudong and also the spectacular The Bund with awesome western architecture.

Shanghai: Beautiful Pudong City View And The Bund

The city of Pudong, Shanghai looks really awesome at night, it gives a feeling of futuristic city with the round Oriental Pearl TV Tower and many LED signs.

Besides that, across the river from Pudong is The Bund 外滩 where all the great western architecture building are. It blends modern and old design very well. Looks real good. I get to know the promenade was constructed for Shanghai World Expo in 2010, before that it was not that cool as now.

It was pretty cold at there, about 4 degree celcius and there’s many people at The Bund Riverside Promenade. Many photographers were there too because that night had a full-moon lunar eclipse. We were like waiting at there until the whole moon was fully ‘eaten’.

We were feeling too cold, the ‘moon eating’ was taking too long and we did not waited till the end, we walked to East Nanjing Road for dinner – McDonald’s, =D, only then we headed back to the hotel room and put a full-stop to the day. Day 4 was fun!

  • Visit To Kek Lok Si Temple & Pagoda

Visit To Kek Lok Si Temple & Pagoda

Visit To Kek Lok Si Temple & Pagoda

Visit To Kek Lok Si Temple & Pagoda – Last night I went to the super famous temple in Penang – Kek Lok Si Temple at Air Itam with a some friends. It’d been quite some times I didn’t go to Kek Lok Si Temple. During the Chinese New Year, Kek Lok Si Temple will turn on all the decoration lighting decoration. It’s very beautiful during this festival.

My visit was not perfect because the Kuan Yin Pagoda Temple was not on, as the lighting decoration at that part of the temple is turned off after the 15th day of Chinese New Year. However, the Kek Lok Si Temple is still pretty afterall. It’s not really a photography trip to the temple for me because I’ve already did a serious photography session at Kek Lok Si two years back.

Nevertheless, I still brought my camera along, Canon 60D mounted with Sigma 30mm f1.4 to shoot, it’s never be bored shooting around at Kek Lok Si. Photography is fun! This time, I take photos of lanterns hanging on the ceiling more. And with a fixed prime lens, it challenged me a bit but luckily 30mm was wide enough to do most of the photography.

For the first time, I went to the pagoda area of Kek Lok Si Temple, I have not been there before on my previous visits. One need to pay an entrance of RM2/person to get there and it’s another beautifully decorated garden at Kek Lok Si Temple. You can also climb to the top of the pagoda to get a magnificent view of Penang too! Super awesome!

Yeah, Penang is pretty right? So do Kek Lok Si Temple too. =) Happy Friday everyone!
