Klang Valley: 麺屋武蔵 Awesome Menya Musashi Ramen @ Isetan, 1 Utama
Menya Musashi is located in Eat Paradise of Isetan in 1 Utama shopping mall. It’s very easy to find, beside it is just another ramen restaurant (Gantetsu) which some said its nice too! The restaurant does not has very fancy design, it’s a very small restaurant with lots of samurai poster. The name of the restaurant comes from the legendary Edo-era swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi. That’s explain the samurai illustration around this little restaurant. It’s a very happy and cheerful atmosphere at there because the staff, the chefs all are shouting at each other, actually greeting you in Japanese. You actually start out at the entrance where you take a look at the menu, then you order, make payment only then seated. It’s very easy to order, firstly you choose the type of soup you want, then type of ramen and ingredient and voila, you are done. Other wise, you can pick some side dishes like Gyoza or there’s a nice Chashu Gohan, rice with chashu pork! Yummeh. So what I ordered was a bowl of Kuro Ajitama Ramen and a Chashu Gohan. Sky juice was free in the restaurant. Talking about the Kuro Ajitama Ramen, Kuro is the broth which made from special garlic oil and fried shallow and it’s brownish black! To be surprised, the soup tasted very very good, and I even perfected it with some extra fried garlic and their special chili oil. The ramen was springy and the tamago egg was just nicely half-boiled. 2 big pieces of Chashu pork with some bamboo shoots cheered up my dinner for that night.Another dish was the Chashu Gohan, a rice filled with sweet chashu pork and lots of welsh onion. This is nice too and it costs only RM9. I added some fried garlic into the rice to add a bit of crunchy-ness to compliment to the chashu and welsh onion.Everything was so good, the people, the friendly chefs who always greeting loudly, and shouted like a samurai when making noodles, the ramen, the rice were just great. However, price wise was a bit high as the ramen was RM29. Overall, this is good, and I finished up the soup. Yummeh.Menya Musashi2nd Floor, Eat Paradise @ Isetan 1 Utama.Telephone: +603-7713-7777Business Hours: Sun – Thurs 11am-10pmFri, Sat & Public Holiday 11am – 10.30pmView Shiok Or Not : Food & Travel Map in a larger map -

Klang Valley: Delicious Mali’s Corner Koay Teow Basar & Nasi Lemak
Klang Valley: Delicious Mali’s Corner Koay Teow Basar & Nasi Lemak – When we talk abou Char Koay Teow, we know it’s the fried flat noodle with Chinese-style soy sauce fried with cockles, eggs and beansprout, that’s the Chinese-style. How about the Malay-style? It’s almost the same, but it’s wet! Yeah, wet as in watery filled with gravy and they are delicious, believe me.

See the queue! I’ve heard that Char Koay Teow Wet or Koay Teow Basah (Basah means wet in Malay) originate from Bukit Mertajam, Penang. I’ve tried a nice one in BM, but in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur, it seems to be a better one in my opinion!

Queue for Nasi Lemak!
Nasi Lemak Ayam Panas, looks interesting.
Cheap also. RM4 for small, RM5 for big and Special is with extra shrimp and that’s RM6.50. Mali’s Corner is the name of the stall located near to TARC (Tunku Abdul Rahman College) which starts business at night, there’s another one outlet with a proper shoplot setup at Platinum Walk on Jalan Genting Klang too. Surprised to see that there’s a long queue for the Char Koay Teow Basah as well as the Nasi Lemak. The queue was not really long, less than 10 minutes can get my hands on a hot plate of Char Koay Teow. However, if you want to order Nasi Lemak, you have to queue again, so I’ve my friend Wei Lee queued for the Nasi Lemak and I queued for the Char Koay Teow.
They both tasted very well to me and I like both of it! The gravy for the Koay Teow Basah is thick, and very good aroma and it has big cockles! As for the Nasi Lemak, the rice has a nice strong fragrance and the deep fried chicken is crunchy to my loving.
Got to thanks Wei Lee for introducing me this place. =) By the way, I prefer this place @ Taman Bunga Raya then Platinum Walk because this is more authentic.
