Do you know about the Sun Yat-Sen Centre on Macalister Road? It’s a museum, but then there’s also a nice fine dining restaurant in it. Now you know, the restaurant is called the Spring Chamber Restaurant serving western food in a romantic, cosy and a little bit of heritage-feel restaurant.
My cousin brother had gotten a straight A result in his recent exam and his family treated me a dinner as a celebration at Spring Chamber. The set dinner is pretty straight forward with a flat rate RM42.00 nett with a few choice of main courses. I picked the Pan Seared Salmon Dijon Cream Sauce.
The appetizer was a tempura seafood fruit cocktail accompanied with mesclun lettuce. It’s pretty nice.
Then next up was soup of the day which was a pumpkin soup. I felt this was just OK-OK only. It’s not creamy enough.
Here’s my main course. Looking good from the food presentation, the side lyonnaise potato was salty and nice, sauce was good but then there’s too much fish bones in the salmon. It makes eating the fish difficult and not enjoyable. And one more thing that the salmon was like a bit hard. Well, I think it’s just an OK-dish again, not so favor about it.
Lastly, I got a Cherry Cheese Cake which I’ll say the best part of the dinner after appetizer. Haha.
If you looking for a nice environment and romantic place to eat out with you closer one or friends, this is a good place.
