Let’s go to Wan Chai shall we?
On a lovely forgot which day afternoon, we went to Victoria Harbour and took the ferry to Hong Kong Island. This was my first time taking the ferry in Hong Kong. Most of the time, we go to the island via the MTR underground railway or the undersea tunnel.
It’s just like the normal ferry in Penang but without any cars on board. It also faster than the ferry here because the distance between Kowloon and Hong Kong is very short only not like Penang and Butterworth. Comparing both ferry (Hong Kong and Penang), I think it’s almost the same. The terminal also not very clean. 1 thing they win us is, they can pay the fare via their Octopus ala Touch n’ Go.
There’s already the MTR, but why would people still want to take the ferry? I think it’s because it’s cheaper and also want to enjoy the cool air breeze and the view of Hong Kong.
But then, it’s hazy. I never get a clear view of Hong Kong when I was there Maybe during summer when there’s rain?
My ferry go straight to Wan Chai where the Hong Kong Exhibition Centre is and we walked from the harbour to Golden Bauhinia Square in front of the exhibition centre. I still remember the exhibition centre is where Jackie Chan’s New Police Story being filmed of.
The Golden Bauhinia Statue,
I know this place from the tourist guide book. But I don’t seem much people visit this place. Since I had so much time in Hong Kong, why not I pay a visit to there? At least I get to tell people I had been here before. Haha.
