I went to Singapore last weekend, by aeroplane! It was a trip partially sponsored by Nuffnang to attend the Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards in Singapore. Nuffnang did not really sponsored everything for PENANG’s blogger, because we actually have to look for our own transport to go to the gathering point in Kuala Lumpur, only from then on, the free coach is provided.
I thought the provided transportation is any of the budget airline but it’s not. I’ve decided not to join them in Kuala Lumpur and to meet them up straight away in Singapore because it’s quite troublesome for me to travel to KL. If I were to join them, I have to go to KL the day before Friday and where could I overnight at?
I started looking for budget airline the week before and found Jetstar. It’s RM147 included everything for a return ticket. Kinda low price and save time. I believe taking a bus down to Singapore is almost the same price already and it’s a long 10 journey when compare to 1 hour flight.
Alvin came along with me too. They actually provided a room for 2, so he was travelling as my guest.
One thing I like about the flight is it’s bridged to the flight door, unlike some AirAsia flight which needed you to walk up the stairs.
Another thing which is not so nice about was the air stewardess on our flight to Singapore wasn’t that friendly on their face. They didn’t really smile a lot, can it be they just woke up and still feeling sleepy?
Since it’s a budget airline, no free drinks was provided on the plane. That’s a down side or it, still remembered that Firefly gave me a cup of orange juice and a muffin for free. =D Wasn’t listening to the iPod, wasn’t sleepy and just go through a little bit of my school book because exam is coming.
This was my second time landing at Singapore’s Changi Airport. The first time was during the trip Gold Coast, Australia with my family when I was 8 years old. Don’t really have much memories about that in my mind. Maybe it’s old, the Changi Airport doesn’t look fascinating to me from its exterior when compare to Bangkok’s and Guangzhou’s which I had been to before.
The journey was just an hour short.
Maybe it’s a budget terminal, nothing seems interesting at there. Somehow, they have this hand sanitizer machine everywhere in the airport for hand washing to prevent H1N1. Cool.
Welcome to Singapore.
Next stop: To check-in to my parents hotel at Bugis and walkaround.
