It’s quite an eventful day on last Saturday. From what I’ve known, there’s the Paddle For Hope, Bon Odori, Penang Chinese Girls’ High School Concert and some sort of singing thing at Chinese Town Hall. Of course I didn’t go to all these event, some had time crash with another.
On that morning, I actually wanted to go to Queensbay Mall to eat breakfast with some friends and at the same point go take a look at the Paddle For Hope Charity Dragon Boat Relay Paddling and to give some support to my school’s dragon boat team.
Unfortunately, I woke up late and the breakfast plan was canceled and we only went to the Paddle For Hope thing for a while because our school’s team had already went out to sea.
It was a charity event and was planned to paddle for a total of 80km, relay with a a few team to raise a targetted fund of RM120k. Looking at the hazy weather out there, it seems tiring, hot and uncomfortable for paddling an hour in the sea nonstop.
They were great though, all teams paddled for a total of 120km for 12 hours nonstop relay and successfully raised a total of RM170k. A lot more than they had targetted.
Luckily there’s Arron and Jin Xin on site who were on the other team, so they were there to guide us around while my school’s dragon boat team was dragon boating.
I didn’t stay long as I was going for a movie at Prangin Mall that time. It’s Public Enemies and I felt that it’s pretty boring to me, what do you think?
