Eastern Europe Trip // Krakow: Arriving To This Beautiful Town & B Movie Hostel – After 4 hours of bus ride from Warsaw, I arrived in Krakow, a small historic and cultural town located south of Poland. Upon alighting from the bus, I sensed that the surrounding, the building and the people were totally different from the capital of Poland – Warsaw. The air is much cleaner and the architecture is more historic. Finally, my vacation seems that it had just started. Warsaw is an industrial city with not much of attractions to see, on contrary, Krakow is a touristy town filled with history, culture and fun.
Well, speaking back about my arrival at Krakow, we tried to look for wayfinding board to lead us to old town where our hostel was, somehow the wayfinding sign couldn’t really point us to the correct direction which was rather confusing. We ended asking for direction from a random Polish which was quite friendly, yet she only brought us to the main street which didn’t really gave us a clear direction on how to go to the hostel. At last, we went to a tourist information centre to ask for a really clear direction on how to go and get some info on what’s around and what to do in Krakow.
Krakow is well connected by tram and buses, however foot would be fine if you want to just move around in town. On the other hand, if you are on shoestring budget and thinking of fare dodging in Krakow, I warn you, just don’t do it, else you will have a long time with the inspector. The train inspector comes in in plain cloth instead of uniform, we were …… when we saw them and we …… alighted from the tram and arrived at the hostel safely and soundly. Pheww?
Checked into B Movie Hostel and got allocated in a 6 beds dorm. The hostel was pretty cool and the receptionist was friendly as well, unlike the one at Jump Inn, Warsaw. By then, the time was about 3pm and the Winter sun was setting, we raced with time and headed to the Wieliczka Salt Mine. The Salt Mine closes at 5pm, and we have about 2 hours time, can we make it to just in time?
