Macau: Inside Macau Galaxy Resort Hotel

Macau: Inside Macau Galaxy Resort Hotel – My Taipei trip didn’t end there as my trip continued on to Macau. The Macau Galaxy Resort Hotel was the place I stayed for 2 nights. Well, it does looks very grand and luxurious with all the glittering and shinny decoration as well as the very friendly service from their beautiful staffs.
Service was really good, and too the atmosphere and the scent that smells good in the hotel. Casino is bright and fresh, and there’s a variety of food and retail outlets to kill your boredom. Talking about food right, after arriving at Macau, the taste buds got turn on again, as I myself still prefer Macau-Hong Kong food rather than Taiwanese food!
Speaking back to the Galaxy Resort Hotel and a very simple wrap up of the place, the hotel room is quite small when comparing to the other Macau’s hotel – The Venetian Macau, and the interior of The Venetian has more of the European feeling which I more personally prefer. If you are heading in group, like a family, spend the night at The Venetian rather than the Galaxy for bigger room. But after all, the place is real cool! It just depends on whether you like a bright place to gamble or a dim and romantic place to place your bet. =D
Took the red one (TurboJet) from Hong Kong International Airport to Macau. During my visit to Macau back in 2008, I took the Cotai Water Jet before.
    Heading to heaven.
    Galaxy here I come!
Dropping of at the lobby. Something interesting I found about in Macau’s hotel is that whenever you alight or board a taxi, the concierge will pass you a ticket, which states the time you get in or off the taxi and the taxi number. I believe this is very useful whenever you have drop anything in the cab, so you can contact the cab company easily.
    Long LIMO!
Giant Dimaond In Dancing Fountain. Besides being a welcoming piece, I know it’s definitely set up based on feng shui. Come on, this is China.

Overlooking Banyan Tree Macau, swimming pool and man-made beach. Although there’s a man-made beach, don’t expect that much, it’s really very small!
A group of model posing at the lobby. No idea what for, just posing and they looks like Thai’s ladyboy. HAHAHA.

Hong Kong: Street Photography – Causeway Bay – Picture speaks a thousand words. Throwing up a lot photos taken during my trip to Hong Kong last December at Causeway Bay, the vibrant and happenings shopping district. =) I love Hong Kong, I love big city.

    MTR Central Station.
Look at the number of people on the street. Somewhere around Times Square.

Hong Kong: Big Buddha, Toufu Fa, Lantau Island

Hong Kong: Big Buddha, Toufu Fa, Lantau Island – One of the cool place to visit in Hong Kong is Lantau Island where the Big Buddha statue is. It’s not only just visiting the statue, you can get some nice moment off from the vibrant busy city life of Hong Kong.

You can take the MTR to Tung Chung Station, then do some shopping at Citygate Outlet, then you can pick to use the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car or go up by bus. It was a super long queue at the cable car station and we bought a package of going there by bus and coming back by cable car. It’s cheaper and faster too.

We did some shopping at Citygate, there’s many brands at there, selling at a discounted price. Then we took the bus to go see the Big Buddha statue. It took us about 20 minutes ride to there. It was nice to look at the scenery around.

Big Buddha is situated on top of a hill, it’s huge and very beautiful. One must not miss is the 山水豆腐花 Toufu Fa, the beancurd toufu far is so smooth and mouth-watering. It’s a bit different with ours as it has ginger in it.

After touring around Po Lin Monastery (official name), we went back down through the cable car. Aduhainya, we queued 40 minutes for the cable car!

Fun, but won’t visit the Buddha again, maybe next time can go there for hiking!

  • Hong Kong: Apple Store, Central 中环苹果店

Hong Kong: Apple Store, Central 中环苹果店

Hong Kong: Apple Store, Central 中环苹果店 – Let’s fly to Hong Kong today and check out the Apple Store located at Central area of Hong Kong Island. I’ve been to one at Nanjing Lu and another one at Pudong, Shanghai, both of them are very cool.

Actually, most of the Apple Store around the world looks the same, they have the same interior layout, the famous glass spiral stairs, and what’s difference is the language and visitors. It’s Hong Kong and it’s Chinese all around. Same as the two stores in Shanghai, this one in Hong Kong was very crowded too!

I feel that Apple Store is one of the attractions in Hong Kong as there’s not much Apple Store located in Asia.

Hong Kong: Old-School Bing Sutt Starbucks Coffee @ Central

Hong Kong: Old School Starbucks Coffee @ Central – One of the coolest place in Hong Kong to me is the old-school style designed Starbucks Coffee outlet located at Central area. I went there last year, and it was in one of my visiting list. What’s so special about this Starbucks Coffee outlet is the old-school Hong Kong coffee house design which local called it 冰室 (Bing Sutt).

Hong Kong: Old-School Bing Sutt Starbucks Coffee @ Central

This is a good blend of western coffee in to local Hong Kong culture. Although, the original Bing Sutt (Hong Kong’s kopitiam) design was not so dim, yet it brings out a warm, relaxing and mysterious feeling in the cafe.

It was full of people. It’s an attraction in my opinion and it has a unique Starbucks Coffee design. Mom went to shopping around Central area and me, dad and brother were enjoying a hot brew of coffee here.

  • Hong Kong: Awesome Night View From The Peak

Hong Kong, View From The Peak

Hong Kong: Awesome Night View From The Peak – Something that I’ve stopped posting for quite some times and that’s my trip to China – Hong Kong last year. Suddenly remembered that I still have quite many thing about my travel to China to share, so I quickly sit in front of my computer and start looking for photos before I forget about it.

Hong Kong, View From The Peak

One of the nice experience in Hong Kong was heading to The Peak at night to check out the Hong Kong night view. I tell you, queuing up for the tram at night is a disaster, it could take you more than an hour for it as it’s a long queue, everyday! You can take the bus, if you know how to, or like us, we took the haggling cab waiting by the roadside. The cab charges 4 of us for HK$40 which I think pretty reasonable after some negotiation, as it brings us all the way up, and cutting all the long queue.

Hong Kong, View From The Peak

Hong Kong, View From The Peak

The temperature up there was superb, chilly, windy, cold. It’s very happenings up there, lots of people were taking photos of the spectacular view of Hong Kong from top. It’s just so awesome. At 8pm every night, there’s the light show, it’s weird that you see the light but you can’t hear any music like you can hear at the Avenue Of Star. Nevertheless, it’s worth to visit The Peak at night. I’ve been there in the morning before.

China Trip – Shanghai: Beautiful Pudong City View And The Bund 上海夜景, 外滩夜景 (Day 4) – Previously, I stopped off at taking the Shanghai Ferry from Pudong across the Huangpu river and now I want you bring you to the promenade of The Bund to check out the fascinating night city view of Pudong and also the spectacular The Bund with awesome western architecture.

Shanghai: Beautiful Pudong City View And The Bund

The city of Pudong, Shanghai looks really awesome at night, it gives a feeling of futuristic city with the round Oriental Pearl TV Tower and many LED signs.

Besides that, across the river from Pudong is The Bund 外滩 where all the great western architecture building are. It blends modern and old design very well. Looks real good. I get to know the promenade was constructed for Shanghai World Expo in 2010, before that it was not that cool as now.

It was pretty cold at there, about 4 degree celcius and there’s many people at The Bund Riverside Promenade. Many photographers were there too because that night had a full-moon lunar eclipse. We were like waiting at there until the whole moon was fully ‘eaten’.

We were feeling too cold, the ‘moon eating’ was taking too long and we did not waited till the end, we walked to East Nanjing Road for dinner – McDonald’s, =D, only then we headed back to the hotel room and put a full-stop to the day. Day 4 was fun!

China Trip – Shanghai: Ferry From Pudong To Huangpu 上海轮渡 (Day 4) – Penang has the ferry, Hong Kong has the ferry, New York has the ferry, Shanghai too has ferry service connecting Huangpu and Pudong in between the Huangpu River. Brother and I were at Pudong area and we wanted to go back to Huangpu area where the old Shanghai city is and from there, we wanted to enjoy the night view of beautiful Pudong Shanghai, so we went to take a ride on the Shanghai Ferry.

Shanghai: Ferry From Pudong To Huangpu 上海轮渡

Shanghai: Ferry From Pudong To Huangpu 上海轮渡

We couldn’t find the ferry at first, it’s not clear on the Google Maps and we actually went the wrong way. Ended we took a cab to the ferry terminal located on Tangqiao Road. The ferry will take you to The Bund and it costs only RMB2. You can pay with Shanghai Transportation Card too!

Shanghai: Ferry From Pudong To Huangpu 上海轮渡

Well, the ferry is just for ferry, nothing much cool about it, unlike Hong Kong’s or Penang’s which has a long history about the ferry. The Shanghai’s Ferry is enclosed and has heater in it. One weird thing is that it’s call 轮渡 (Lun2 Du4) instead of 渡輪 (Du4 Lun2) in Mandarin. We normally call it Du4 Lun2 in my hometown – Penang.

Shanghai: Ferry From Pudong To Huangpu 上海轮渡

It’s pretty fast, takes about 10 minutes+ to reach the other side of the river. And then we started capturing photos and enjoying the view of Shanghai. Share with you in the next post. =)

China Trip: Shanghai: Magnificent Apple Store At Pudong (Day 4) – Shanghai Pudong’s Apple Store is one of the most beautiful Apple Store in the world, the other cool one that I think is the one at 5th Avenue, New York. This huge cylinder shape Apple Store located near to Pudong’s Oriental Pearl TV Tower is a perfect blend into the surrounding.

Being an Apple fans, how can I not visit the coolest Apple Store on Earth?

Walking down the spiral stairs which locates the main hall of Apple Store, this is the place where all the retail and consultation are. Again, it’s looks the same like other Apple Store around the world. It’s simple, it’s cool, it’s full of people and it’s awesome!

Brother and I did not go up to the viewing deck of Oriental Pearl Tower because we wanted to save cost (about 100RMB/pax). I think there’s nothing much to see on top except the Shanghai city. I feel it’s better to view Shanghai by the riverside instead of from tall.
