Nothing much, just want to say good night to everyone. =) Went to Magazine Road to eat Chinese tang yuan (rice glutinous ball) just now for supper and like the way 1st Avenue Shopping Mall stands in the middle of a heritage city. – Good night everyone.

Random Shots At Heong Giam Si Temple
Haha, it’s another post about temple and I did not purposely go to this temple to take photos. It’s actually I brought my camera with me during this visit to the temple with mom to pay a memorial visit to the late grandma of my dad.
Heong Giam Si Temple, located near to the state mosque (Masjid Negeri) at Air Itam there is actually a memorial hall which houses people’s ancestor’s tablets.
It rained during our visit and it was quite a heavy rain. I took out my camera and go for some shots.
And after the rain, blue sky came. =D
What a random post.

Nice Kaya Spread/Coconut Jam At Tanjung Tokong
In Malaysia, the coconut jam normally known as kaya for the local, it’s a common term for Malaysian. Kaya is a food spread used for bread and toast and it’s mainly made from coconut and sugar. People like to eat it on toast for breakfast, afternoon tea, all even just eat for fun, it’s just like the normal strawberry jam.

You can actually get this in supermarket or mini-market, but those are factory processed. What’s good is a true homemade kaya spread like this that I’ve got in Tanjung Tokong.

It’s available in big (RM4.50) and small size (RM3.50) and sell in a small coffee shop at the UDA flats in Tanjung Tokong, same place as the nasi Melayu too.
Do you like Kaya?

Kuan Yin Teng – Temple Of The Goddess Of Mercy, Penang
On a find Tuesday afternoon, I was feeling bored and I went to Pitt Street alone to the famous Kuan Yin Teng (Kuan Yin Temple/Temple Of The Goddess Of Mercy) to walkaround, take some photos and pray a little bit. It was a hot day, yet it’s nice to go there to take photos.
As you know, this temple is one of the oldest temple in Penang and have been serving the Taoist devotees well over the century. It’s one of the building in the listing of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and people still going there to pray everyday and it’s get crowded during the first and the 15th day of the Lunar calendar.
The temple houses several God and Goddess of the Toaism. It was constructed in the early 1800s by the Chinese immigrant. My grandma is a frequent visitor of the temple too.
Outside the temple, there’s many stalls selling praying material like joss sticks and candle and they will be touting you to buy their stuff when you passes by. Actually, it’s all the same, what’s matter is the heart and sincerity of praying.
There’s actually Chinese opera outside the temple, serving the God and Goddess for a spiritual entertainment show, however the opera show was off during that time.
As you know, I have some nice feel towards holy places like temple and church because these place give me a sense of peace and quiet. They all features nice artwork and architecture too especially old Chinese temple and old churches in the European countries.
I heard that there’s plan of revamping the praying experience at the temple which is that no joss stick will be allow to go bring in into the inner hall. Praying will be done outside the temple, just like the Wong Tai Sin temple in Hong Kong. This is to preserve and maintain a clean and holy environment in the temple. Somehow, I don’t know whether it will be implemented or not.
This is a must visit place in Penang. =)

Hazy Penang And Gurney Drive
Hazy weather had intruded Penang again which ugly-fied the view of the beautiful Penang. The hazy weather have been around for a few days already. Everyday I wake up, I tried to look out the balcony to look for a clear blue sky but the haze disappointed me.
It’s not clear out there. It’s blurish. It’s not fog, it’s haze, it’s warm and it’s smelly. Industrial waste and forest burning are causing this and we can’t really do anything about it. I believe Beijing is in fact more worse than us. Haha.
Luckily, the heavy downpour which happened in the afternoon cleared the sky for some time. So, yay!
Hopefully, it’s big blue sky again so I can go out and take more photos! =D This post is so random. Haha.

Straits Quay, Penang #2
My hands have been feeling itchy lately as they keep wanting to press the camera shutter button of my new camera. =D To ease my itchiness, I went to Straits Quay in the afternoon to press a feel shutters on my camera. I haven’t really been there during the afternoon and when the sun is hanging high above my head.
It was a quiet Monday afternoon and Straits Quay was, quiet. Feeling bad for the restaurant and cafe owner as there’s so little people visiting their shops at that time. If it’s at Singapore or Hong Kong, there will be people almost at anytime. Guess Penangites are too lazy to come out to spend time at the cafe or perhaps selfish to buy themselves expensive beverage.
I went there with my girlfriend, Hueisean. It was windy and the warm sea breeze blows on my face which it’s not really a good time to spend outdoor.

Took some shots of her of course as she had become my spontaneous model. It’s not all about building, landscape and random people anymore. After changing a new camera, my feel in photography is getting stronger again, it’s like boost up which makes me want to takes more photos! =D
Straits Quay is a good hang out place and the concept is great, somehow it’s not really accessible to public as there’s no public transport going there. And the pubs only opens till 1am because there’s residence on top of it, so no live band and late closing, which is not that good.
Anyway, it’s a good place for some better dining experience and a new spot to hang out in Penang.
Heart for LIKE. =D Do press the LIKE button. Weeeee.

People’s Court At Sunset
People’s Court is one of the oldest flat in Penang, located somewhere near Cintra Street and Campbell Street. It was a place where all people lived happily and a majority of Chinese living there. Until today, the flats are still there with shop lots surrounding the place and now mostly elderly or old Penangite lives at there.
My family always loves to dine at the Chinese restaraunt, Boey Chong Kee which situated right below the People’s Court flat. =)

Chung Ling High School Sixth Form Food Fair
Yeah, it’s about my high school, Chung Ling High School again! I missed the super big food fair of Chung Ling High School few years back when I was Form 2, 14 years old and in between, the school didn’t organized any food fair until just recently that the Sixth Form student organized a food fair and invited me to come check it out.

Zez Chien.Since many of my high school friends are in the Sixth Form, so I went to meet them, though, I couldn’t stay for long as I was working later that day.
From what I have known, the purpose of organizing the food fair was to fund for their graduation night.

Jin Jie Tan, my classmate when I was form 5.There’s many food at the food fair, and some games stall too. Although not very super-overwhelming, but then I can see the enjoyment of them in promoting and selling the food and everyone enjoyed.
Even though it was just a short visit, I met friends, talked and ate breakfast at there too, before I proceeded to work at Queensbay Mall.

Juan Shong, my class monitor in 2009.I didn’t get to check out the fun fair area as I was in a hurry, afterall, it was a fun short while at the canteen. Oh yeah.
